00:00Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has spoken of the similarities between his club team-mate Nick Valtemada at Newcastle United,
00:09who has made a very promising start to his career in the North East,
00:12and his national team-mate Harry Kane, who Gordon is currently in the England camp with,
00:17ahead of fixtures with Wales and Latvia.
00:20Gordon made clear that the styles of Valtemada and Harry Kane suit his own play.
00:26I think they do play a very similar style of football in terms of they want to almost be the quarterback,
00:33they want to come in and create, they don't just want to finish the chances like a typical striker would do.
00:38The amount of assists Harry's got in the past couple of years and over his career is outstanding,
00:42so for me personally I think it helps me because my style sort of suits playing with that style of striker
00:49because I can run off them. If defenders want to go and engage with them, I can run off the back,
00:54so I think it's really positive for me and I really enjoy it.
00:58What did you make of Valtemada's penalty, by the way?
01:00Yeah, it was tough.
01:01You were all talking about it.
01:02Yeah, I was a bit gutted to come off the pitch because then I couldn't take it, so no, he'd done extremely well.
01:09He did, it was a big moment for him and he's in great form, so long may it continue.
01:13And Middlesbrough head coach Robert Edwards has made clear that his side will prepare themselves as well as possible
01:20for their fixtures after the international break, after their loss against Portsmouth.
01:24You know, we tried, we huffed and puffed, but again that final bit wasn't quite there to get the ball over the line,
01:31so, yeah, disappointing day for us, but the lad's commitment was there, you know, the effort was there.
01:39This is a difficult place to come and it proved that way, but, you know, after the nine games,
01:46we put ourselves in a good position.
01:48I think that's really important to make sure that we all understand as well, it's not what we wanted today.
01:54Next time we're out, we've got to make it what we want again.
01:55Yeah, and is the key thing over the international break just to get as much rest as possible and kind of recover
02:00and then go again for a switch?
02:01Yeah, we will. The lads will get a few days now. We've got a few lads going away, you know, on international duty,
02:05so we wish them well. Hopefully they come back in good nick and it gives us an opportunity to get a bit of rest
02:12and some training in as well and get prepared for the next game.
