00:00Scrum straight to the red line.
00:04Damage.
00:05Damage.
00:06Don't do that!
00:07Stay still!
00:08Derbyshire traffic cops.
00:10It does have warning markers for potential firearms.
00:15Stay down with it!
00:16You're under arrest.
00:17Lieutenant's supply class is being a drug.
00:19Police a thousand square miles.
00:23It's a crash, crash.
00:25You got any other injury other than your head?
00:27With some of the UK's most dangerous roads.
00:30Oh, nobody's been killed out of this.
00:32I don't know.
00:33Do you know how fast you're going?
00:34It's scary when stuff like this happens.
00:36In life and death situations.
00:39Get on the ground, you'll be tainted!
00:41We've got runners.
00:42Face down.
00:45Yes, yes, successful sting.
00:49Around every corner.
00:51Great acting, mate.
00:54There's a new challenge for the traffic cops.
00:57Step out of the vehicle now!
01:00I'm going home.
01:01David!
01:02Stop grabbing me like that!
01:06Crash, crash, crash.
01:09Coming up.
01:10Oscar and Victor two behind.
01:12Car criminals on the run.
01:14Yes, yes.
01:15Two vehicles making off.
01:17Causing danger on the roads.
01:19The dog's now out.
01:21As organised crime groups.
01:23How did he come to the UK?
01:24On a truck.
01:25Right, okay.
01:26Try to stay under the radar.
01:28Now it's time to play hunt the car.
01:30And with that vehicle now, it is empty.
01:32Engine's still running.
01:34By risking lives.
01:35Come to a stop on the marketplace.
01:38Get it, mate, get it.
01:39This car's driven directly at me.
01:41End up killing people, mate.
01:42That was insane.
01:52From NA Sierra One, we've had an ANPR activation for a possible clone vehicle.
01:57Can any ops units start making their way, please?
01:59Including Oscar Juliet units.
02:01Yes, yes.
02:02We're just in and about looking for it.
02:04PC Mark Scott is one of two Derbyshire Road crime units.
02:08Out hunting for cross-border car crime gangs.
02:12So we just had it here.
02:14For a vehicle.
02:15So at the minute, we're just trying to see if we can locate it.
02:18See what's going off with it.
02:20The team is looking for a suspect car near the Manchester border,
02:24where there's been a spike in car thefts.
02:28Yes, yes.
02:29White Audi tried to break into thousands.
02:31I believe there was also a report that it was trying to break into third cause as well.
02:35A white Audi A3s or S3.
02:38There was an S3 next to the other night.
02:39It wasn't there.
02:40So I reckon it's going to be that one.
02:42If I was a betting man.
02:44Sergeant Luke Christian and PC Nick Lovett are also nearby.
02:48A few nights ago, we had a Audi S3 stolen.
02:53We think those offenders have returned in that car tonight.
02:56Obviously bearing a different number plate.
02:58To try and steal probably more cars.
03:01Brake into houses.
03:03That's the type of car that they're going for.
03:04Like a quite nice Audi.
03:07With a lot of cross-border criminality,
03:08it is OCG, organised crime group led.
03:12And it's quite a significant problem.
03:14A lot of work is done behind the scenes to identify clones.
03:18And it's not just by us, by other forces throughout the country.
03:21And resources will be thrown quite heavily at it in order to get the vehicle stopped.
03:26Ten miles east of Manchester.
03:29Mark spots the Audi.
03:31S3, anything to follow?
03:34Go ahead.
03:35Just letting you know about a partial sighting of that stolen Audi S3.
03:40It's passed me in the opposite direction.
03:43So it's the direction of travelling towards Glossom.
03:46It did appear to be a convoy with something.
03:49I didn't get EBRM of that one, unfortunately.
03:51And a from Oscar Invict 2.
03:54Can you get hold of local units at Glossom, please?
03:58See if any of those have got Stinger.
04:00Yes, yes.
04:02Oscar Tango 24 has now got contact with this vehicle.
04:06Pursuit is authorised at this time.
04:08Intel confirms the officers' suspicions.
04:11So this car we're following at the minute.
04:14We're just doing some checks on.
04:16It was actually stolen in a burglary.
04:18Coming up to how all these burglaries have been happening.
04:20We'll give it a stop just after these series events.
04:25It's just up there, I think.
04:27Hello, going into the Sturiches.
04:29Time for Glossom.
04:31Hello, this vehicle's now failing to stop.
04:34Excuse me, Oscar Romeo Victor 6.
04:36Stephen.
04:38Yes, Oscar Romeo Victor 6.
04:39Take all side pursuit.
04:40The suit is authorised with your vehicles.
04:42You've got the suit management training.
04:44The suit continues.
04:46With the car failing to stop, Luke and Nick try to get ahead.
04:50Yes, thank you for that.
04:52Pre-emptive tactics are authorised on that.
04:56If you are using Stinger, hard cover for Stinger, please.
05:00Hard cover for Stinger if Stinger being used.
05:02We are high street easting towards Glossom.
05:05Speed 5-0, DRA low.
05:07Yeah, thank you for that.
05:08Yeah, thank you for that.
05:09Thank you for that.
05:17Doing the resack.
05:19Get Stinger out.
05:23One to a stop on the marketplace.
05:25Get it, mate. Get it.
05:26Get it, mate.
05:30He's back up.
05:31He's gone out.
05:32He's rammed us.
05:33He's back up towards the police station.
05:35Oscar Romeo Victor 6.
05:37I get your vehicle rammed.
05:38Remember, I'm in.
05:39Third side, try the vehicle.
05:48There's a worrying trend now where they are willing to ram police vehicles, reverse ramming or head-on or smashing their way out the box until either they are free or they are disabled themselves.
05:59And those are the people that are the biggest risks to us.
06:00And those are the people that are the biggest risks to us.
06:02Oscar Romeo CR1.
06:03We're making our way over.
06:05Yeah, you won't get any more because the number plate for the vehicle is on the floor.
06:09No, no, no.
06:10It's rammed us.
06:12From an ACL2, can I confirm that there's no injuries to officers in the ramming of the vehicle or so?
06:18From 6 alpha, no, no injuries.
06:21It's a very safe one now.
06:22We've got one male in come.
06:25One male detained at this present time.
06:28I can't be 100% sure, but you can only see one male getting out of the front passenger seat,
06:32which will be the male that's been detained, so he's from the seat passenger.
06:36So this car's driven directly at me.
06:39Ridiculous.
06:40You're tilling people, mate.
06:42I told them to blow.
06:43Did you now?
06:44Yeah.
06:45Have you got anything on you?
06:46You've got your phone, haven't you?
06:47Yeah, you've got my phone.
06:48Is it your car?
06:49No, it's not mine.
06:50Whose car is it?
06:51Who's that?
06:52I don't know.
06:53You don't know who was driving it?
06:54I'm not trying to...
06:55I know.
06:56You've already tried to run off once, mate.
06:57So I don't believe you.
06:58I think you're a liar.
06:59Sit down.
07:01So unbelievably selfish.
07:03I think I don't tried.
07:04You have, mate, because you ran off from that car that's just smashed up some police cars
07:07and nearly killed someone in the bottom of there.
07:08So I'd suggest you have got stuff to hide, aren't you?
07:11It's high risk for us if we're chasing these cars and trying to get them stopped.
07:15It's dangerous for the person driving the subject car, because the injuries they could cause
07:21to themselves if they were to have a collision, and obviously other road users.
07:25Some innocent member of the public could just go in about the daily business.
07:30And a car that's found the stock for the police plows into the side of it.
07:34Our project's here.
07:35One, go ahead.
07:36Four to one in the morning, you're under arrest on the position of a temp burglary.
07:40All right.
07:41OK?
07:42Luke and Nick continue the search for the driver.
07:45And then they're convicted for we drove all the way up to the woodhead, then turn left to the top back to one pin whistle.
07:53It's all negative up there.
07:56And I'll screw around the OC1.
07:58They said there were two vehicles together, didn't they?
08:00Sure.
08:01Yeah, I think at some point when the vehicle was first sighted, it was said that it was possibly in convoy with another vehicle.
08:10was that confirmed or not that that was the case yes the possibility of the other end
08:17and I'll screw me a C1
08:32all right good these were just had a vehicle failed stop just down from where
08:38you guys are pulled out from I was checking you're not nothing to do with it is it your vehicle yeah
08:43sounds of it driving license we do anything I report documents in order to show in female
08:48policyholder the driver and vehicle details check out yeah nice one all right Cheers see you
08:57after two hours searching there's still no sign of the Audi driver or the second car in the convoy
09:10I'm just gonna have a quick conflag with Scott and then we'll see what we're doing from there
09:18but it could have gone miles country this type of criminality is rife yeah your dash cam is not
09:31going to picked up any faces is it there's that many people linked to the OCGs we arrest some then
09:39the next night there's another two or three wanting to take the place I think to be honest we're gonna
09:44be dropping most of the fleet off at workshops these people are willing to basically put themselves in
09:50a position where they could die to get away and potentially cause somebody else to die I can't
09:56imagine what goes through the mind of someone that's willing to take that risk coming up another suspect car
10:07I'll screw it to behind triggers a high-speed chase it's probably one zero zero and a week-long manhunt leads to a dawn raid
10:17at the minute you're under arrest
10:28you
10:37due to a spate of burglaries on the Derbyshire border the road crime team is targeting organized
10:48crime gangs we've had a sighting of a clone voxel insignia PC Nick Lovett and three other car units are in
10:58pursuit of another suspect car just come off at 30
11:02clone vehicle is basically any vehicle that's had its identity changed predominantly via the
11:11change of registration plates it can hide the fact that the vehicle is stolen or it could be used to
11:16basically avoid detection when they are out committing crime they will travel to an area on
11:23one set of plates commit what crime they wish to do and then come away on a different set of
11:27registration plates
11:28near Sheffield PC John Terry and sergeant Luke Christian spot the suspect
11:57which way are you going it's right right right
12:08it's right right right
12:09it's one adult male driver speed at this time it's nine zero
12:14are there any other units to be in the area yes I'll screw it to two behind we're just passing the
12:23co-op to the near side speed is currently seven zero it's no pedestrian activity
12:29traffic is live here 880 vehicles passing the Gulf petrol station to the near side speed is seven zero
12:40overtakes member of the public
12:44Nick and another unit race to catch up with the pursuit
12:50Nick and another unit race to catch up with the pursuit
12:53company blocked by slow moving traffic
12:55vehicle negotiates near side bend
12:57DRA is still medium
12:59you can never sum up the level of risk that these people will take
13:04he takes his life in his own hands he's now bringing in everybody else that's in that area and putting them at risk
13:10and putting them at risk.
13:12Subject vehicles approaching members of the public.
13:15It's currently one. It's here, over there.
13:18He's playing with people's lives.
13:20It's left, left, left.
13:29And it's right, right, right.
13:36It's now left, left, left, left.
13:40Followed by right, right, right.
13:51It's gone off roads. It's down the dirt track.
13:54It's a total loss.
13:56There's numerous little side bits it could get off.
14:01While John searches the dirt track,
14:03Nick and other units surround the area.
14:06We're just trying to plot the area with all the cars.
14:09Let's see if we can pick it up again.
14:11We have to find that balance of continuing that pursuit against what risks that that driver is taking.
14:20But then to lose that vehicle is infuriating and frustrating.
14:22Roger. We're just researching the housing estate at the end of the road.
14:24Just in case.
14:26Proceding to the road.
14:28Uh, 72.
14:30Proceding to this, uh, first stop.
14:32I've got the drone over there.
14:33but then to lose that vehicle is infuriating and frustrating.
14:38Roger, we're just researching the house in the state at the end of the road.
14:43The speeds that he got up to, I think it was reported as 1-0-0 at one point.
14:55It's wet, damp, so yeah, it's not good conditions
14:58to be carrying that kind of high speeds around.
15:00If they know the area better than we do,
15:04they know places where they can go that we can't.
15:07They all go off-road.
15:10They don't care about destroying their vehicles.
15:12They don't care about road traffic laws.
15:17We've now got officers going back to the petrol station it pulled into.
15:24It was fueling up, so it could be that we get a good image.
15:30Of the driver, that can give us a lead and identify who it is.
15:36Armed with CCTV footage and the suspect's address,
15:57PC Nick Lovett and officers are closing in for an arrest.
16:00What's that?
16:04What's that?
16:08Hello.
16:09Sorry to wait you up at this time.
16:11Can we come in and have a lady there?
16:12All right, at the minute, you're under arrest for dangerous driving.
16:25Fail to stop for police, OK?
16:26That was a few days ago.
16:28Oh, gloves.
16:31Mole grip.
16:32Nice little burgling kit, isn't it?
16:34These are all these tools.
16:35There was bags of tools, drills, pliers, there's all sorts of things.
16:41Had he had those in the vehicle, out in the public,
16:44you would strongly suspect that he was going to be using those tools for going equipped fences.
16:48Well, what's all key, where's that part?
16:52There you go.
16:53You sure?
16:54No, it's all key, isn't it?
16:56We need to keep searching in here, or are you going to tell us where that car's parked?
17:00That'll be parked around here somewhere, won't we?
17:01Yeah, we'll find it.
17:03Right, I'll go and have a look at it for this.
17:05Well, sit tight for a minute.
17:06Maybe we need to find out where this car's parked, Ross.
17:08Right.
17:10Now it's time to play hunt the car.
17:12There you go.
17:18See it?
17:23There we go.
17:31Vehicle located.
17:34Hey there, mate.
17:36The vehicle is parked on the road adjacent to where the house is.
17:42Could you run me a VIN check, please?
17:47It's on a Vauxhall insignia.
17:49Yeah, no problem.
17:51Tagistro 2, it doesn't appear to be any form of clone.
17:53Back on its original plates.
17:55Shows his insurance not held, no reports on it.
17:58It's not nicked.
17:59A few sets of plates in there.
18:18You've got to park it somewhere, discreet and out of the way.
18:22Parked on a random, well it won't be a random drive, you'll know who lives here.
18:25Oh, it's on your driveway.
18:33No, I tried to get it moved.
18:37Oh, how long has it been there for?
18:38Er, it came yesterday.
18:41Oh, someone just dumped it on your driveway?
18:42Oh, yeah.
18:43Yeah.
18:44Oh.
18:44So I have to kill.
18:46Have you got any relatives that live on this estate?
18:48Yeah.
18:49Oh, who's the relatives?
18:49I've got a chair with a queen.
18:54It's nice that we've got here tonight.
18:57Obviously, he failed to stop and drove dangerously for us the other night.
19:00So for us to locate him with the key and now find the vehicle parked up around the corner,
19:07yeah, it's a really good result.
19:08So he's on his way to custody now.
19:11We've also found some tools in his bedroom that he can't account for.
19:15A bit of a burglars toolkit.
19:16So he'll be interviewed about that in the morning and we'll see what he's got to say.
19:21What that vehicle has been involved in or what it was planned to be involved in,
19:25we probably will never know.
19:27Can you arrange recovery, please?
19:30Yeah, no problem.
19:31I'll find someone's shown.
19:32What we can say is that that vehicle would not be being used for any legitimate reasons.
19:39By taking that vehicle off him has disrupted him for that moment in time.
19:43Coming up.
19:49Yes, yes, two vehicles making off.
19:51More cross-border criminals.
19:53There was two in convoy.
19:54Putting lives in danger.
19:56That was insane.
19:58And a routine stop.
20:00How long has he been in the UK?
20:02Three years.
20:02Oh, three years.
20:03Yeah.
20:04Uncovers some suspicious activity.
20:0738, 20 pound notes, 42 tens.
20:10Awesome.
20:13It could be a Ford.
20:32It's gone left onto Town Lane.
20:36Both the van and the Ford.
20:41Ten miles east of Manchester,
20:44he see Nick Lovett and Derbyshire's road crime team
20:46are patrolling the county's northwest border.
20:50They've split now.
20:52One's gone right,
20:53and then the other's gone and turned around.
20:56Where are you, Luke?
20:57Nick suspects the car ahead is scouting the area for targets.
21:07A lot of cross-border criminality,
21:09it is OCG, organised crime group led.
21:12The subject vehicle to be attacked
21:14is usually identified by persons within the group
21:17that have gone ahead,
21:18and they will spot the vehicles to be stolen.
21:22Say again.
21:22Petal station.
21:24Petal station?
21:25Is it Shell B&B down here now?
21:26I don't know, mate.
21:27All right, but I'll know what it is.
21:28All right.
21:32They're definitely stopping.
21:37They're stopping.
21:40Just give it a pull.
21:42We all come on road policing
21:45for the reasons of stopping criminality on the roads,
21:49and a lot of that is when cars pass you,
21:52how is that driver acting?
21:53Are they prepared to look at you,
21:55or are they trying to look away from you?
21:57How is the vehicle reacting?
21:59And that will give you a good idea
22:00as to what that vehicle is genuinely up to.
22:02I couldn't talk to you well enough there, mate.
22:13Yeah, Sal.
22:14What's up?
22:16Have you got your driving lights on you, pal?
22:17I haven't.
22:18You haven't?
22:18Nah.
22:19I just need to do some checks.
22:20I've got nothing, haven't I?
22:21And you're following a van?
22:22Yeah, yeah.
22:23Okay.
22:23And then you've gone and turned around and come back?
22:25Yeah.
22:26Okay.
22:26Sal.
22:27Yeah?
22:27So I'm just going to do some checks.
22:28Have you got any idea on you whatsoever?
22:30Nah, nothing.
22:31You've got nothing?
22:32Nothing.
22:32Absolutely nothing?
22:33Nothing at all, pal.
22:34All right, okay.
22:35We are trained to follow our instincts.
22:37So 90% of the time,
22:40when you look at the vehicle
22:41and think there's something not quite right,
22:43you are going to be right.
22:46Luke arrives to help Nick.
22:51They were definitely following that van.
22:53Yeah.
22:53100% they were following that van.
22:55Yeah, yeah.
22:55100%.
22:56Have you got any idea on you, pal?
23:00Nah, mate.
23:01Nah.
23:02Nah, I've been caught up.
23:03I'll be, pal.
23:03You've just come out for a drive, have you?
23:05Not for the mission, are you, pal?
23:06Eh?
23:07I've come for the mission, me, man.
23:08Come for the mission?
23:09Yeah.
23:10Are you known to the police still?
23:11Nah, not really, man.
23:12Nah, not really?
23:13Not really, man.
23:14Not really?
23:15When I was a kid, mine and stuff, man.
23:16Mine and stuff.
23:17You know what I mean?
23:18Oscar Tango 4-9.
23:20Yeah, correct vehicle, insurance is held.
23:22No report call, so it appears to be the genuine.
23:25Right, yeah.
23:26It's all good.
23:26All right?
23:26All good.
23:27Yeah, all good.
23:29All good.
23:29All good.
23:30See you, babe.
23:32Is there something going on tonight or something?
23:34No, mate, no.
23:35Just general policing.
23:39You were definitely following that van.
23:41Were they?
23:41What color was it?
23:43Right.
23:45He'll feature again.
23:53They were following that van.
23:55That's my gut feeling.
24:00And there it goes.
24:03So I believe the vehicle was intending to steal a load from a van.
24:08That's what I believe this vehicle was doing tonight.
24:11Definitely could have prevented the van being targeted.
24:15But we'll never know.
24:24As Nick gets back on patrol, he spots two more suspicious vehicles.
24:31An A4Mos Gromio Victor 2.
24:33I've got two vehicles making off one lane towards Broadbottom.
24:37Two vehicles making off Gromio Victor 2.
24:41From C01, can I just confirm, you're actively pursuing the vehicle?
24:47Yes, yes.
24:48Two vehicles making off.
24:50We're onto the bridge at Broadbottom towards Hattersley.
24:54Yeah, from an A4Mos Gromio Victor 2.
24:55Can I get A4Mos?
24:57Negative two far away.
24:59All I know is one's a grey golf.
25:01There was two in convoy.
25:04Losing sight of the vehicles, Nick requests backup from Manchester's road crime unit.
25:09Yeah.
25:10Can we get all the TVRU, please?
25:16Yeah, you will.
25:17We're currently on Broadbottom Road.
25:22Yeah, we've got the one coming out of the way, please.
25:23It's a Broadbottom area.
25:25Unicorn's making off the road on Gromio Victor 2.
25:29From C01, that's all received.
25:30Are you able to jump onto the GMP Intop channel to make them aware?
25:34Yeah.
25:35Because obviously they'll need to run any pursuit.
25:37Can I just confirm, have we got any GMP control room on who would be able to run a pursuit on this channel?
25:45Yeah.
25:47Currently Broadbottom Road towards Mottram Moor.
25:53It's a total loss on Market Street.
26:01I think it's a left, left, left Hyde Road.
26:07And that is a negative, negative. It's not.
26:10I believe they will have gone into Hattersley Estate.
26:13Over policing, everything goes in peaks and troughs.
26:16Years back, pursuits were regular, night in, night out.
26:18And then pursuits seem to dwindle away.
26:21But now that trend is coming back.
26:23Some nights, there's multiple pursuits in a night.
26:26That's within Derbyshire.
26:26And every time a pursuit happens, it's the potential consequences of that pursuit that's worrying.
26:32Nick, what was the call for? What was the other?
26:34I don't know, mate. I think it was a Mercedes.
26:37Yes, yes. They've gone through.
26:43Any agent? Inquiry, go on that then, please.
26:46The rear vehicle was definitely a great Golf.
26:50I can't give you the first vehicle in the line.
26:57Yeah.
26:57From a member of the public, apparently, had done a U-turn and gone to the Hattersley Estate.
27:10Manchester's officers joined the search.
27:19Have we got it that way?
27:20Yeah, there's not that way.
27:21Two lads in that.
27:23Say again.
27:23Two lads in that.
27:24Well, when we just come out of here, one of us took a tumble and he ran off.
27:27So we'd only presume whatever they've been in is over here, on test goals.
27:32That was insane.
27:34That was insane.
27:41Definitely two.
27:42Two cars, both in convoy.
27:44Yeah, they've gone that way.
27:45He's just seen them take a tumble that way.
27:47GMP dogs now out.
27:54That was insane.
27:56One of the GMP units, TVI units, have been coming down here and seen two running across the road.
28:02One's taken a tumble and they've gone straight across there.
28:05So potentially, whatever they've nicked, and the Golf, could be in there.
28:13Obviously, you can hear the dogs out tracking.
28:15You can see how it took.
28:18Found the car.
28:20Luke's found one of these cars.
28:22Has he? Where?
28:23It's at Aldi.
28:24It's abandoned.
28:25It's up there.
28:26Right.
28:27You there, Luke?
28:30Half a mile away, the second vehicle that failed to stop for Nick has been found.
28:34But there's no sign of the Golf.
28:38So they've changed the place already.
28:40Doing well, aren't they?
28:40Elastic bands.
28:42It is an SQ5.
28:44Is it?
28:45Didn't even make that, mate.
28:46It went onto Long Lane that quick.
28:48I couldn't even tell you what the front car was.
28:50When you've got criminals that are hopping over borders, they try and do it very quickly.
28:54Get over the border, commit the crime, disappear before even the crime is reported.
28:59And it just makes our job of finding them just that little bit harder.
29:03Can we come up again tonight so we can catch them so I can have my pants back?
29:06Yeah.
29:06Yeah.
29:07Yeah.
29:07Yeah.
29:0750 miles south, PC Matt Cork is on
29:37patrol in Derby. He's heading to assist a colleague who's stopped a suspect car.
29:58There's been some recent intel re black galaxies and use in crime in the area. In my experience
30:03there are lots of different telltale signs about vehicles and people that just scream something's
30:10not right. How long has he been in UK? Three years. Three years. Has he got UK driving license?
30:16No it's okay. The license check raises suspicions. So because he has been here for more than a year
30:24it means that his Albanian license is no longer it means that he should have got UK license. I don't
30:30drive more one year. But because he's been in the country for more than one year that means you have
30:3712 months from coming into the country you understand. So we will sort out some bits and
30:42Bob's with him. Okay. We'll be having the car anyway for no license, no insurance because
30:48he's obviously over the 12 months. And have you got immigration number to hand?
30:52Right. Got vehicles stopped. Three gentlemen from Albania. So just like an immigration check please.
31:01Yeah past details. Have you got some ID as well mate? I just need to check your ID. Yeah or the photo
31:08of it or even better if you've got the card. Excellent. Thank you. Uh, Albanian driving license.
31:15So rear seat passenger has also provided Albanian driving license.
31:19What's his immigration status? He's not the status immigration. He's not started it? No. How long has
31:26he been here? One year. He's been here one year. Definitely one year? One year. One. Okay. And how did
31:36one year and a few months? How did he come to the UK? With truck. On, on a truck. Right. Okay.
31:43In 2020. So he's been in the UK for more than a year then. It's been nearly three years hasn't it?
31:51Three years. Yeah. Year and a bit three years. The big difference is nearly twice the difference.
31:57With anybody that we can't find on a police national computer that isn't a sort of permanent
32:03resident of the UK, we always look to check them through immigration. And on checking these three
32:07mails through immigration, one of them has been found to be here illegally.
32:11Uh, right. You're going to be detained on the immigration act. One day immigration leaving
32:19Albania. Yeah. I come in. Yeah, I know, but you've not made contact with anybody so that nobody knows
32:25that you are here. No, I'm not saying Albania is good and I'm not saying that there's not better
32:34places in the world or not worse places in the world. So you're going to come with me to police
32:38station and immigration will come speak to you there and then they will sort out going into future.
32:42You're okay, brother. Okay. Have a seat there for me. Put your seatbelt on.
32:47Yeah. Often these minor little offenses can be the tip of the iceberg. It can be that little bit
32:53of thread that unravels it all and something like that can quickly lead to a much bigger job.
32:57So he's been detained by myself so that he can be seen in the morning by immigration.
33:28Super. Just take your coat off. All the way.
33:37A recent cross-border operation foiled a Derbyshire based Albanian gang which was running drugs across
33:43county lines. Police believe there are other networks operating in the area run by illegal immigrants.
33:50In Derbyshire has been an increase recently in offenses involving members of Western Balkan or Albanian
34:02organized crime gangs. Often young males, often involved in the cultivation of cannabis.
34:0838, 20-pound notes.
34:1642, 10s.
34:2542, 10s.
34:26What's that bring us up to?
34:2841,187.
34:301,187.
34:34This gent's obviously here illegally so this chap shouldn't be working.
34:38However, he's clearly got his own bank card. He's got over a thousand pound in cash on him.
34:43He's got three SIM cards. Yeah, you know, I dare say average Joe doesn't carry three SIM cards
34:49over a grand in cash whilst being carried around a car that's not insured by somebody who shouldn't
34:53be driving. If I was a betting man, I'd probably be led to believe that he may be involved in some form
34:59of criminality, be that OCGs and organized criminal groups.
35:06The man will be interviewed by Immigration Services in the morning.
35:12Coming up...
35:13Mercedes in black, driver's side door was open, there was a mail getting out.
35:17More car criminals on the run.
35:19Stand by, stand by, I might have this vehicle.
35:22Minutes after a burglary.
35:24Yeah, I'm with that vehicle now, it is empty. Engine's still running.
35:46I've got units start making their way towards a break in progress, vehicle being stolen.
35:52The Mercedes has just been stolen in Derby.
36:02Three miles outside Derby, PC Matt Cork is responding to a suspected car theft.
36:08Car theft is massively on the increase. A lot of it is done by organized crime gangs. The only
36:25thing they do in life is go out and steal people's cars. They're in, they're out, they're gone. Which
36:30makes catching them and disrupting that extremely difficult. You've got to be in the right place
36:34at the right time sometimes. And you've got to have luck on your side.
36:45Mercedes in black, driver's side door was open, there was a mail getting out.
36:51It's a bit of a strange place to stop considering the services wasn't more than 150 yards further on.
36:57And to me that screams somebody who doesn't want to pull into the services and risk being seen on camera.
37:03Yeah, I suspect it's going to be changing plates as we speak.
37:07I'm just turning around at dumbbells now. 24, what units have I got? Near me please.
37:11We're going to go to 25, standing by. Stand by, stand by. I think this might have this vehicle.
37:28Got this vehicle, I think, at the services.
37:41Can I get units to the services please? I dare say they've gone off through the bushes.
37:53Yeah, and with that vehicle now it is empty. Engine's still running. These people will have gone
38:00into the undergrowth.
38:01Literally minutes mate, literally minutes because as I've flown down this way there's somebody getting
38:14out of it so they're going to be in this sort of area.
38:23This undergrowth is very, very thick so they're going to struggle to get through it at any sort of
38:27speed. I keep just hoping that I'm going to see some plagues to be honest.
38:31I'm not going to touch the car because marks like this could well, if they've not got gloves on,
38:39could well leave some sort of forensic. 28, can we get recovery rolling for this please,
38:45forensics. We've been here that quick that they've not even had a chance to change the plates. I dare
38:51say they would be within half a mile of us at this point so obviously we can't leave this vehicle in
38:56case they end up getting it started again and turn up to take it.
39:01So yeah this vehicle's been stolen within the last five minutes, probably three miles out from the address.
39:07I imagine the intention was to get out, change the plates over and then carry on the journey.
39:12Whether or not they've seen us and thought they're too close to us and they're on us and given it up
39:17straight away or whether they've had some sort of issue and couldn't get it started again is yet to be seen.
39:22The key thing now is to get some more units to us, hopefully get the dog into the area.
39:30If these individuals have gone that way into undergrowth there is no way that they can get
39:35out of here without using a road or getting picked up in a taxi so there's a good chance they are still
39:42hiding somewhere in the undergrowth. I say not be onto the grass at all but obviously I have no idea
39:47which way they've gone. It could well be that these individuals have actually crossed the carriageway
39:53and have fled that way. There's a number of units plotted up on all possible escape routes from
39:59that sort of area. Dog has now picked up what seems to be quite a good track and he's come
40:19across some footprints so fingers crossed we get some suspects.
40:29I've just checked the farm across the road and this is where we've just lost the track.
40:34Yeah, received thanks.
40:37It's a bit of a kick in the teeth when they get away but out of two situations where we see the car get
40:42away with the people inside it or we see the people get away but we manage to return somebody's pride and
40:47joy to them. Within 10 minutes of them calling the job in I'll take that over a total loss.
40:53Hey mate, it's left running I don't know whether it'll move at all so I'll let you pull in front all right.
41:04The fact that the vehicle still obviously runs there's an error message up on the dash saying
41:09that keys aren't present. I think that suggests that we've been the key to disrupting this and
41:15preventing that vehicle from disappearing. I'd describe their actions as cheap, cowardly,
41:21sneaking around in the day and night, pinching people's cars off the driveways, lazy, not fancy
41:26working for yourself, working to get your own car to get a career behind you. I've not got a great
41:31opinion of those sorts of people. So yeah, absolutely great, fantastic result that we've got it stopped
41:37and obviously there's going to be a very happy owner of this vehicle to know that we've got it back
41:42in such a short space of time.
41:52Police estimate there are hundreds of organised car crime gangs responsible for hundreds of burglaries and
41:57car thefts across Derbyshire every year. Travelling criminals coming across the border to burglar
42:04addresses to steal cars and there's been a huge increase in that recently. It's a massive issue at
42:10the minute to the point that sometimes this is happening every night of the week. You know it's
42:13an absolutely terrifying thought. Criminals using vehicles as part of their everyday criminal lives
42:19and using those vehicles in a dangerous and reckless manner to commit cross-border criminality and we are
42:26there with the skills to get them stopped safely. I'm still motivated and committed to going out
42:33and practically hunting down the people that cause misery to others. These kind of people do need
42:38stopping and putting them before the courts. In this episode, it's come to a stop on the marketplace.
42:46Inquiries into the identity of the Audi driver who rammed Mark Scott are ongoing.
42:51He's got it out. He's robbed us. Ridiculous. End up killing people, mate.
42:57His passenger was charged with burglary with intent to steal, but later released without action.
43:04Oscar, he's two behind.
43:07The driver of the cloned Vauxhall Insignia was found guilty of failing to stop, dangerous driving,
43:13uninsured and unlicensed driving. Vehicle located.
43:17And handling stolen goods. You're under arrest for dangerous driving,
43:21failed to stop for police, OK? He received a 26-week suspended sentence
43:26and was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to retake his test.
43:31Yes, yes, two vehicles making off. Police are still on the hunt for the Audi and
43:35Golf drivers who disappeared near the Manchester border. Can we go up again tonight so we can catch
43:40some sort of come with pants back? Yeah. The Audi itself was returned to its owner.
43:51The Albanian man arrested for immigration offences was passed to the border force
43:55and confirmed to have entered the UK illegally. He's been deported and his cash retained under the
44:01Proceeds of Crime Act. The driver's side door was open. There was a male getting out.
44:07And inquiries are ongoing in relation to the driver of the stolen Mercedes abandoned on the M1.
44:14Literally minutes, because as I've flown down this way, there's somebody getting out of it,
44:17so they're going to be in this sort of area. After carrying out forensic tests,
44:21police returned the vehicle to its owner.
44:34And nothing, when I think about the car and the dream of the community, there's a lot of
44:40people trying to take out the car. I feel like there's a lot of people trying to
44:42do that. I don't think the difference is, you know, in a moment talking about the
44:45aspect of the car. I'm going to enjoy the car and the driver's or something.
44:48I want to forget about the car and the car, and imagine that the car can be in the room.
44:51I want to be in this sort of area. You know what the car may be in this kind of area.
44:54You know, you know, you're going to have a ton of your car.
44:56And you know, when you want to be in the car, and you're going to be in the car.
