00:04A fit and healthy young Derbyshire man was forced to have both of his legs amputated just days before his 21st birthday after his flu-like symptoms turned out to be sepsis.
00:15Levi Daly was left in an induced coma with just a 30% chance of survival after he was struck down with a life-threatening condition.
00:22The previously active 20-year-old, who enjoyed playing football, first fell sick with flu-like symptoms and began to take over-the-counter medication.
00:32But the former JCB Welder then went into septic shock and suffered multiple organ failure.
00:38Medics found he was suffering with pneumococcal pneumonia and sepsis and he was transferred to Leicester's Glenfield Hospital for specialist treatment.
00:45Doctors told his mum and dad that their son would need surgery to amputate both legs below the knee, an operation he had just days before his 21st birthday.
00:55Levi said,
00:56I'm so lucky to have amazing support and I'm so thankful that I'm here, but getting sepsis has completely changed my life.

01:05Sepsis is actually quite common, but we didn't know much about it before it affected Levi.

01:15A beauty salon owner from Chesterfield said that winning national and regional awards in a major competition was a dream come true.
01:24Aurora Beauty Studio scooped success in the Beauty Salon of the Year category of the Nation's Hair and Beauty Awards.
01:30Proprietor Gemma Foster, who lives in Newbold, said,
01:33We've worked so hard and it's really nice to be recognised.
01:36She added,
01:37I never expected to win. We were screaming and crying.
