00:00Let's start off with our sports betting news and topics of the day.
00:03Alex Boris is a New York Assembly member.
00:06He filed a bill that will prohibit licensed New York sports betting operators
00:09from limiting size and frequency of deposits of wagers of authorized sports bettors.
00:15I'll break it down for you.
00:16The state of New York wants you to be able to bet on as much as you possibly can
00:21if you are a winner.
00:22Basically, some sports books will limit you if you win,
00:25and they don't want that to happen, so that's part of it.
00:27Now, as far as the deposits are concerned, still remains to be seen who exactly that is targeting,
00:31but the state of New York is kind of stepping out here,
00:34saying if you win money, you shouldn't be limited to bet in the future.
00:37Meanwhile, the prediction market saga continues with a company called Polymarket,
00:42who are ready to launch its prediction markets in the United States,
00:45offering contracts on both sports and election events.
00:49Newly typed certified sports contracts include Moneyline, Spread, and Total.
00:55Seems a lot like sports betting to me.
00:57Stay tuned.
00:58Los Angeles Dodgers, World Series champions a year ago.
01:01They're the first team in the wildcard round to advance to the next round.
01:05Eight to four, the final.
01:06The Dodgers easily take care of business in game one, in game two.
01:09Nice year for Cincinnati getting into the postseason, but not much more.
01:12Mookie Betts with a home run in a big game yesterday.
01:15Basically getting involved in the action,
01:17as well as Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who picked up the win.
01:20Here is Mookie Betts after the game on wanting more than just a wildcard win.
01:25But, obviously, I know we can win the whole thing.
01:29We just have to play good baseball.
01:32We have to continue to pitch, timely hitting, and play defense,
01:36and everything should be okay.
01:38Is it fair to compare last year's team with this year, too?
01:41I mean, not really, just because we're just two different teams.
01:46You know, last year we didn't have as much start in pitching.
01:50This year we have, you know, pretty deep in start in pitching.
01:53And, you know, I mean, just different players.
01:56You know, we brought back a lot of guys with the vibe.
01:59Everything is just different.
02:00It's a different year.
02:00And so, you know, we just enjoy where we are.
02:04Let's get now to the Yankees-Red Sox series,
02:09which will culminate this evening in the Bronx.
02:11Great game yesterday.
02:12Final score, 4-3.
02:13Yankees end up winning a back-and-forth game throughout.
02:16But the Yankees pick up a run late, thanks to Jazz Chisholm Jr.
02:19playing in the game, sliding at home to pick up the game-winning run.
02:23Aaron Boone talked about just how exciting the game was last night
02:26with the Yankees getting the win.
02:27Yeah, what a game.
02:29You know, I mean, it's been two great games, these first two.
02:35You know, a lot of big plays on both sides.
02:38You know, we turned – I thought our defense tonight was, you know,
02:42really, really good.
02:43Turned a couple big-time double plays.
02:46Did some good things on the bases.
02:48A homer by Benny to get us rolling.
02:51And then, you know, the bullpen closing it down after Roto gave us enough there,
02:57even though he struggled a little bit there in the seventh,
03:00to get us, you know, through six, set us up and able to hang on.
03:05But what a game.
03:07Yeah, like you said, it was a battle.
03:09We knew that coming into the postseason.
03:12That's what we talked about there the last stretch of games.
03:15It's going to be fighting tooth or nail to get it done.
03:18And obviously that was, you know, yesterday's game and today too.
03:21So, yeah, that's the way the postseason is.
03:24And come back and do it tomorrow.
03:26Game three tonight under the lights.
03:29Meanwhile, in the friendly confines this afternoon,
03:32the Padres and Cubs will finish off their three-game series.
03:34Yesterday, all Padres starting pitching, relief pitching, getting the job done.
03:39Also, Manny Machado with a big hit.
03:40Three to nothing the final for the Padres.
03:42The story for San Diego has been this incredible bullpen
03:45that they fixed together during the trade deadline.
03:48Mason Miller, Robert Suarez both shutting things down
03:51and could be asked upon if they have a lead today to get it done.
03:54Here's Mike Schilt on the victory and Manny Machado on his big hit.
03:59Mike, a number of really good at-bats today.
04:01I was wondering about Tatis as a bat before Manny
04:04and then you go into Manny's unleashing one.
04:07Yeah, no, absolutely.
04:08I thought the at-bat quality yesterday was really high as well.
04:13Not as much a show for it.
04:15Again, at-bat quality, fantastic.
04:17You hit the nail on the head, Ace, with, you know,
04:20Totti getting it started even in the, you know, first inning.
04:23And then later, you know, a tremendous at-bat.
04:26And then, Manny does his thing, puts a beautiful swing on it
04:29to give us, you know, a little bit of cushion there for sure.
04:32I mean, I saw a split.
04:35You know, he threw it to me and Totti earlier in the game.
04:39It was pretty, pretty good.
04:41So, just trying to get something.
04:44You know, he throws that fastball up in the zone
04:46and change up off of it.
04:47So, I mean, you really can't sit on anything,
04:49but just kind of try to get something on the dish.
04:53Very tight game between the Guardians and Tigers yesterday afternoon,
04:57going all the way down to the finish
04:58until Steven Rocchio ended up hitting a home run
05:01to break a 1-1 tie.
05:03Also, Josh Naylor getting involved.
05:05And the Cleveland Guardians tie up the series
05:07with a 6-1 win over Detroit.
05:11So, now they'll head to a Game 3,
05:13which will be at 3.08 Eastern today.
05:16It's been back and forth, nip and tuck, as they say.
05:19Good pitching, not great bullpen effort yesterday from Detroit.
05:22Here is Steven Vogt on getting the big hit
05:25and also getting the most out of a Major League debut
05:29from Chase DeLauter.
05:30That was huge.
05:31I mean, it was 0-2 count, I believe,
05:32and he's just ready to fire.
05:34And those last couple innings, it was not easy to see.
05:37And our guys jumped on Melton pretty well.
05:40And Bo was such an unbelievable at-bat off Herter.
05:43And for us, it was a frustrating day offensively for us.
05:47Two hits leading into the eighth.
05:49And for our guys to explode like that
05:51and kind of get some separation felt really good.
05:53Chase, that was an unbelievable debut.
05:55I thought everything about it was great.
05:58His bats were outstanding.
06:00He could have easily let that play in the first inning,
06:02rattle him, and take him out of the rest of the day.
06:04Tanner picked us up huge in that inning,
06:06getting the three punch-outs.
06:08But really impressed by Chase's at-bat quality
06:10and then obviously the outfield play
06:12after the sun ball in the first.
06:15It was outstanding.
06:18Meanwhile, in the National Football League tonight,
06:21a point spread that just keeps growing and growing.
06:24The Los Angeles Rams are up to seven, seven and a half,
06:27maybe eight in some spots
06:28against their division rival, the San Francisco 49ers.
06:32Why is this happening?
06:34Well, the 49ers will not have Brock Purdy,
06:37Ricky Pearsall, or Jawan Jennings
06:40to go along with George Kittle and Nick Bosa.
06:43Yeah, the 49ers are just that banged up.
06:45Total of 45 and a half going into tonight's game.
06:47Game time decisions and in-game live
06:49will have you covered there.
06:50Lamar Jackson missed Wednesday's practice.
06:52They're saying he's uncertain to play against the Texans.
06:55All indications point toward him not playing this week
06:59for Baltimore against Houston.
07:00Meanwhile, Zach Taylor has some big decisions to make,
07:02especially if the Bengals can't come through this week.
07:06It's been a really tough go for backup Jake Browning
07:09since Joe Burrow got hurt.
07:10Bengals just struggling to score.
07:12Here's Taylor on Browning getting another shot this week.
07:15Do you feel like you need to add competition
07:17at quarterback for Jake at this point?
07:20I don't.
07:20I think with every position, we're always assessing.
07:23That's Duke's job.
07:23That's the personnel department.
07:25They do a great job of that.
07:26Presenting us options when Joe went down
07:28of other guys we can bring in the room as well.
07:30So we thoroughly exhaust that.
07:32I've got a ton of confidence in Jake.
07:34I'm unwavering in that.
07:35I've seen the best of Jake.
07:37I know that we can do a great job supporting him
07:39to where he can go winning games for us.
07:41So I feel extremely confident in Jake Browning.
07:44All right.
07:44Meanwhile, AJ Brown says his social media post
07:47not directed at the Eagles this past week.
07:51Brown, naturally, is one of those guys
07:54that seems like he's going to have issues
07:56no matter what happens with the Eagles.
07:58Even when they win, they're undefeated, AJ.
07:59Come on.
