00:27the financial space after eight sessions of losses bulls are bouncing back since it's a 700 points
00:39hitting the 81 000 mark the nifty is up to 40 points nearing 24 850 strong buying is being seen
00:46in banking media as well as farmer stocks auto majors are driving in the fast lane as in september
00:55we've seen robust sales tata motors sales were up 12 m&m sales jumping 16 hyundai raising about 10
01:03percent in sales and escort scubata also reporting about 49 jump in the tractor sales as well festive
01:09demand as well as gst cuts have driven the momentum tata motors and escort stocks also lead the rally
01:14big news on rcb's stake sale buzz sources have told business today television that gsu is seeking two
01:23billion dollars for the franchise with adar poonawala leading the talks deal size could be at least 35
01:29times the revenues united spirits has clarified it will not comment on speculation the stock however
01:35is up by two percent reserve bank of india acknowledges the impact of trump tariffs in its
01:42monetary policy despite raising the gdp growth estimates for the full fiscal year says the second
01:48half of the year and beyond will see slower growth due to trade risks the central bank also recognizes
01:54the impact of gst rate cuts lower inflation estimate by half odd percent
01:59rb also unveils major reforms to make it easier for nris to invest trade and for remitting the funds as
02:09well fema and ecb rules have been simplified with investment caps in indian companies raised for nris
02:14he measures include internationalization of the rupee by expanding its usage in global trade and
02:20providing nris with greater access to digital payment systems
02:24let's uh straight away look at the breaking news this hour cabinet has approved a three percent
02:34dearness allowance hike for government employees is for the central governments as sources have told
02:39uh us as well as central government employees are now going to be getting a three percent da raise
02:45that's a big news coming in for them there's also a you know news coverage as far as the msp is
02:50concerned the msp hike for the ruby crops has also been cleared by the cabinet what we are also given to
02:55understand is that 11 000 crore rupees a six-year mission for self-reliance in pulses is being thought
03:01about cabinet moves are towards boosting the pulse production nationwide those are the two big news
03:07uh points that are coming in from the cabinet at this point in time a dearness allowance hike of
03:12three percent for central government employees and the msp hike for ruby crops has has been cleared by
03:18the cabinet as well we'll uh straight away look at now uh welcoming our guest on board and looking at
03:23the markets now and come back to this uh news a little later the nifty is on course to now end that
03:30eight days of a losing streak that we recorded up until yesterday look at the nifty a smart rally and a
03:36bounce back has come in 0.8 percent of a move on the higher side it's at the day's high led by the
03:41banking names look at the nifty bank that's up by 1.3 percent in trade today across the board several
03:47sectors are supporting this momentum financial services media stocks private banks pharma realty
03:54there is a bull trend across the board we're also looking at a lot of stocks that are buzzing in
04:00smart in trade today sriram finance tata motors adani enterprises kotak mahindra bank sun pharma among
04:06the top gainers on the nifty whereas the laggards include bajaj finance ultra tech cement state bank of
04:12india tata steel and bajaj auto but definitely the mood is bullish after a long haul on the day one
04:19of the october fno series viewers remember we've already had two series of losses september ended
04:26with just minor gain of 110 odd points on the nifty and we are starting off october which has rather
04:32been historically a positive one a bullish one for the markets as well because there's a lot of festive
04:36spirits that also comes in into the d street as well let's actually go across to our guests now
04:41and welcome mr sudheep bandyopadhyay the chairman of indy trade capital who's joining in on the program
04:47welcome to you sudheep ji good to have you with us and to welcome you on day one of the october
04:52series that started on a positive note we've had the rbi policy a dovish policy despite no rate cut
04:58this time around but definitely talking about some room going forward from here and the auto sales that
05:03are reflecting the gst cut demand boost how are you looking at the markets at this stage good afternoon
05:10sachi i think you put it absolutely right the rbi policy acted as a trigger for the market
05:15we were expecting that you know rbi policy can rejuvenate the market and that's exactly what
05:21happened though there was no cut as far as the benchmark rates are concerned but the dovish tone
05:26and the relaxation given on multiple fronts particularly related to capital market acquisition
05:32and things like that actually kick-started the rally today market has been waiting to hear some good
05:39news for quite some time and uh i think uh this this this announcement of rbi acted as a trigger
05:45also remember uh you know market was heavily short some some amount of reverse some amount of short
05:52covering was expected and uh you know when trigger was required and rbi provided that trigger
05:57uh beyond that i would also definitely mention that as you rightly say the festive season has set in
06:03you know from today onwards we'll get to see business updates and the you know sales numbers coming in
06:08and i suspect some of them will be pretty positive and uh you know even better than expectations uh the auto
06:15sales numbers will be surprising us and you know leave aside the 15-20 day between the gst cut
06:21announcement and implementation but if you leave that period aside i think we will get to see a good set of
06:28numbers also we are just beginning of the festive season this continues till end december
06:33uh you know and i think uh the the rally should start gathering momentum uh uh very soon of course
06:40there are global uncertainties and global issues which we need to uh intermittently encounter uh and
06:47if iis have been selling we have to keep that in mind so while the rally will be propelled by domestic
06:52factors we have to be cognizant of the uh you know global news flow absolutely let's also find out
06:59what top economists of the country are uh looking at when it comes to the takeaways from the rbi policy
07:04remember a status quo for the second time in a row is what we've seen from the rbi uh the repo rate that
07:10stands at 5.5 percent a unanimous decision on that front but an improvement on the growth forecast
07:15for fi 26 to 6.8 percent and of course a reduction in the cpi forecast for inflation as well
07:21i earlier spoke to economist sadhiti nair and madhan sabnavis to find out what could be the next course
07:27will there be another rate cut that we can expect in the upcoming december policy now let's listen into
07:32what they had to say so fi 26 gdp uh six and a half percent inflation 2.6 percent uh fi 27 gdp
07:41wide range uh anywhere between six and seven percent depending on how different policies uh pan out
07:46uh especially how uh the tariff situation evolves for uh services and uh uh cpi inflation in the range
07:54of four to four and a half percent for next year we're still looking at gdp growth six and a half
07:58to seven percent because i think the worst of the tariffs will be behind us and it'll actually be a
08:02case of growth going into the higher mode uh inflation to my mind will remain in the four and
08:07a half five percent range because if you look at it traditionally india has been a four and a half to
08:11five percent inflation country anything less than that has been more a case of chance so i don't
08:16really bet on inflation remaining at low levels for a very long period of time but just one one
08:21thing i'd like to bring to your attention is that while we are all quite happy about what the rbi has
08:26done but if you look at the bond market the 10-year yield to my mind hasn't really moved it still
08:30remains that 6.60 so the market doesn't seem to be too much enthused maybe the market is not looking
08:35at another rate cut maybe they were looking at some uh definite steps to be taken for uh on liquidity
08:42whereas the rbi has said that the crr is still to work out and it's uh banking on the early
08:47emissions which it's taken but uh a bond market definitely has been fairly impervious to this
08:52in our decisions like part of um the other commentary that came in from the rbi ahead of the biggest ever
09:02ipo for this 2025 year with five billion dollars of deals the reserve bank of india has now raised
09:08the ipo financing limit for individuals from 10 lakh rupees to 25 lakh rupees the announcement was made
09:13by governor sanjay molotra and in the central bank's monetary policy statement itself the governor has also
09:19proposed removing the regulatory ceiling on lending against listed debt securities and raising the limit
09:25for bank lending against shares from 20 lakh rupees to one crore rupees and this change expected it's
09:31expected to help the high net worth individuals or hnis to apply for larger amounts in public
09:37offerings as well and these steps are part of the five measures that were aimed at enhancing the flow
09:43of the credit and among them we've also seen the governor also proposing creating an enabling framework
09:48for indian banks to finance acquisitions by domestic corporates as well apart from the other
09:54measures that were announced the reserve bank of india has also now launched sweeping reforms to boost
10:00nri investment and to ease cross-border funds flow these new rules will simplify simplify foreign
10:06investment expand the rupee usage in trade and also extend digital payments for millions of indians
10:12abroad with higher investment caps and with flexible remittance norms as well the nris as well as the
10:18global investors can now connect with indian markets like never before let's actually go back to our
10:25conversation with the sleep g to try and understand what some of these broader measures really mean
10:30for our economy and for the markets at large as well but beyond the policy repo rate decision this time
10:37around the governor's focus and the mpc's focus has also been one to ensure there is adequate capital
10:42flow uh for the banks as well there's also been announcement on ipo financing enhancing the limit
10:49for hnis to uh invest there and apart from that there have also been norms on increasing remittances
10:56for nris how are you looking at all of these statements sir a couple of things i think is very
11:01clear this was a long overdue because these limits original limits which have been today increased were set
11:07long back and they definitely needed uh upgradation uh you know the markets have moved the world has
11:14moved uh you know the values have moved so this was uh necessary also i must say that you know the
11:20government rbi regular sebi all of them have been talking about uh kind of curbing the speculation in
11:26the market and uh you know fno is what particularly options is what uh they are wary about and i think
11:34this move by rbi will actually encourage a delivery based wine which also is the uh you know the
11:41the objective of the regulators and the government uh so i think they are in the right direction and it
11:48was a step which was necessary uh you know the increasing the credit uh also was necessary because
11:54there has been some challenges in terms of credit not growth not coming so i think these are good
12:00measures uh let's look at the uh you know measure of acquisition financing being allowed uh this was
12:05not allowed and you know for some strange reason for a very very long time i don't recollect when
12:10or ever if it was allowed by the central bank in india but it is a market tool and globally this is allowed
12:18so you know indian companies were using international uh sources to kind of go and acquire companies
12:24where indian banks uh were losing out the opportunity of course this doesn't mean that
12:29they will overnight start financing but i think it will take little time but eventually this is one more
12:35tool in the hands of efficient banks to increase their uh lending and uh you know gain uh
12:42incremental uh revenue uh and this is was they were losing out indian corporates were inconvenienced
12:48because indian banks were not allowed to do this so i think these are steps in the right direction
12:52long uh overdue i would say absolutely let's dip into another big breaking that's coming in right
12:59now viewers as far as the gst collections are concerned for the month of september the gst collection
13:04has risen by 9.1 on a year on year basis the gst the goods and services tax revenues have now hit
13:131.89 lakh crore rupees in september remember this is also the fastest gst growth in the last four
13:21months as we have seen this is also the ninth consecutive month of high gst collections as we
13:27have been seeing so september has recorded 1.89 lakh crore rupees of gst revenues this is a jump of
13:359.1 percent on a year on year basis as well uh well good news definitely pouring in uh for the
13:42government as well as collections continue to improve despite the cuts that have been rolled out
13:48and this should encourage the government on the steps that they have been taking uh sudeep ji how
13:53would you look at this uh number that's actually come in on the gst collection as well there was an
13:58initial some sort of a fear that the gst rate cuts could actually impact collections but this seems to
14:04be a big good news that's coming in undoubtedly i think this is uh you know this kind of uh removes the
14:11concern and the worry that the collections will come down because of the rate rationalization
14:16uh and that's not happened in fact uh sachi if you see historically uh whenever the gst rationalization
14:22has happened gst rates have been streamlined uh the collection after that has only gone ahead and
14:28increased and this has been proved for the last seven years uh since the gst introduction so i think
14:34this is a you know development in the right direction the states who had concern that their revenues
14:40will fall post this rationalization you know that also has been taken care of with these figures
14:45and i'm i'm sure when we see the october numbers and november numbers they will be even better
14:50okay got that in fact when we're talking about the festive demand that's been pushed by gst 2.0
14:57reforms they have actually revved up even the september auto sales numbers in fact tata motors has raced to
15:03number two spot in the retail passenger vehicle sales overtaking mahindra and mahindra and even
15:08hyundai as well and that's according to the vahan data that we're given to understand mahindra on the
15:12other hand has clocked in its highest ever monthly domestic sales hyundai has also reported record
15:18suv numbers and mg motor has posted strong double digit growth as well with me now is our colleague
15:24chetan bhutani with more details on the same as well chetan do give us our understanding of how the
15:30numbers are coming in who is leading the way when it comes to the sales especially given the gst 2.0 boost
15:37this festive season well it's actually uh the top care auto sector rally continues as far as the sales
15:43is concerned as per vahan data tata motors has become efficient in the number two slot in the passenger
15:49vehicle sales with 40 068 units overpowering uh hyundai at 37 000 in fact mahindra has also hit its
15:57highest 56 233 units sales however interesting units uh coming over hyundai as well with 70 347
16:04units of units being sold with a 10 growth of year on year uh however hyundai has also mentioned that
16:10the creta saw its highest ever a sales of about 18 861 units in a month however uh menu which is a
16:18small suv also clocked its highest ever growth selling nearly 11 800 units in a month so clearly uh the
16:25demand for small suvs and of course the big suvs uh remain in fact mg motors who saw a huge amount
16:30of uh you know rate cuts from 50 000 to 350 000 rupees in its various segments saw a 34 percent
16:36year on year growth to 6748 units so clearly until up to the run-up to diwali we are seeing a lot of
16:42pent-up demand post gst and of course when uh delivery start to happen we'll see more robust sales coming
16:47over absolutely thanks a lot chetan for getting us all of that interesting update on the auto sales
16:54so deebji now your top choice it's difficult to choose because most of the companies are now
16:59reporting that they have recorded robust sales for this month of september especially led by the last
17:05for you know nine days eight days of a move of the festive season in fact for m&m that pre-announced
17:10the gst cuts even before the cuts had rolled out how would you look at all of these companies and what
17:15would your top choice or maybe the pecking order be in terms of auto companies now well uh you know
17:21m&m has been our choice for quite some time even before gst rationalization we have been
17:26recommending m&m to our customers uh it continues to remain our top choice you know you know beyond
17:32gst i think the tractor business is picking up and it's picking up in a big way suv they have clearly
17:38reinvented themselves their uh ev uh uh you know business also is uh moving in the right direction
17:45so i think uh m&m definitely is worth looking at even at current level if you are a long-term investor
17:50the other company which i will definitely recommend from a long-term hold and buy is maruti i think
17:56they have been suffering for quite some time because there were a challenge in the you know demand for
18:01low-end vehicles i think that has uh gone away with a low uh you know income improving in the hands
18:08of rural india and urban india as well as this gst rationalization uh where the company took advantage
18:14of that and even introduced newer models reduced prices further to boost sales and the results are
18:20there for everybody to see uh they got demand and orders uh of something which is unprecedented even
18:26in maruti's history uh so yes and it's a fantastic company obviously with 40 plus market share
18:31fantastic network so if you want to remain in invested i think maruti is a good start to buy and
18:37invest other than that i think you know we like auto ancillaries yes auto ancillaries also so any top
18:45choice there sudeep auto ancillaries we we definitely like uh you know ancillary because i think they
18:51they also cater to the ev segment apart from ice segment and their their component per vehicle
18:57increases in the ev so some of them other son which has got a global presence uh you know uno minda
19:02uh you know sona comstar i think all these are good companies and from a long-term investment
19:08point of view they do you know merit attention sure so mnm maruti from the frontline oems and of course
19:17when we look at the auto ancillary samward and mother son uno minda those are some of the names that
19:22you could definitely be looking at another big news that's actually coming in is on rcb stake sale as
19:28well that's according to the sources global spirits major jejo the parent company of united
19:33spirits and the owner of the ipl franchise rcb royal challengers bank law has initiated the process to
19:40sell its stake in the team seeking a valuation of around two billion dollars and that's about
19:4417 500 crores the company is said to be evaluating the interest from potential buyers including from
19:51serum institute's owner adhar punawala joining me with more details on this is my colleague krishna
19:56help us understand this is going to be big news indeed sakshik and this is the second transaction
20:02we're going to see in the ipl after gujarat titans sold out to torrent so obviously there's a huge
20:07amount of interest in ipl even at the most conservative level if we take uh royal challenges
20:12revenue for fy25 it is about 500 crores which means that 70 000 crores it's uh 35x multiple of top
20:18lines so we're speaking of very serious numbers uh the interesting part is uh the team won the
20:23appeal for the first time this year so it's probably fair to assume that valuation spike in that sense
20:29has been helped by the victory this year and it's a fantastic franchise there are a couple of
20:33challenges interesting challenges if i may say so given that vijay malia began this uh franchise as a way
20:38to beat uh the advertising hurdle in the industry uh if but if diajo decides to sell this brand out to
20:44adhar punawala whoever that is uh that the brand name obviously will have to change because all
20:48challenges is a brand that remains with uh diajo so how they go about that process will be
20:51interesting but given where the ip list i think it just sends the uh uh the trend in terms of a
20:57major industry where no big ticket transactions are happening so i think to that extent how adhar
21:01punawala goes about it with his 50 percent stake in dharma productions yes will be interesting to
21:06watch absolutely well diversification uh on the top of mind as far as adhar punawala is concerned
21:12thanks a lot krishna for giving us all that update coming back to sudeep how are you looking at
21:16this uh news from the point of view of those investors who have uh you know huge interest in the
21:21liquor space especially in united spirits what would this deal mean for them well i think it
21:26definitely makes sense for united spirits you know they need to in cash and move out sometime uh yes
21:31they can get the branding benefits by uh associating their brand by paying a fee or some other measure
21:37they need not continue to own rcb and it's an absolute opportune time because rcb you know there was
21:44multiple jokes in the in the entire uh cricketing fraternity that rcb has never ever won the
21:49tournament first time they won the tournament and this is probably the right time for them to
21:54look at and this news comes after the last one victory that we actually saw after a long haul so
21:59this one is going to be lucky absolutely so this is the right time for them to look at exit if they
22:03if they're contemplating that i'm sure they're doing that from as far as punawala group is concerned i
22:09think they will get multiple benefits by associating i'm sure there'll be other bidders so i think it's a
22:15very fair uh transaction and it's good because once this transaction happens the benchmarks will
22:20be established for multiple other franchises and we'll see probably reflection on sun tv valuation
22:26uh which owns srh we'll see uh you know multiple other repercussions of this valuation on other
22:33companies which own uh other uh you know ipl franchises fantastic so this is one development
22:39that we will definitely keep an eye out on but apart from the secondary market viewers there's a lot of
22:44that's also taking place in the primary market india's biggest ipo of 2025 is going to be coming
22:49in soon tata capital is all set to raise about 15 500 crore rupees marking the first tata group ipo
22:56since 2023 the ipo also comes with a price band of 310 to 326 rupees per share my colleague kapa bakaya
23:02had an exclusive conversation with rajiv sabarwal the md and the ceo of tata capital on the ipo as well
23:08as on the company's future outlook and expansion plans let's listen in to what he had to say
23:12which which of these segments will you prioritize i mean as you said you'll you'll track where you
23:17feel the opportunity is building but uh do you already perhaps have a sense of what perhaps you'll
23:23be looking at uh focusing on more post ipo with some of the new capital so our strategy is not to
23:29have one hero product we want to have multiple hero products and that is what we are trying to do
23:35and that's what we have done in terms of the largest book housing is the largest book because
23:40this is the asset we are most comfortable with close to about one third of our book will come
23:46from the our housing finance company the other assets which will be large for us will be sme and
23:54consumer we do believe that each of these segments have huge potential to grow in india
23:59and we want to be there expanding our reach building our digital capabilities further to take
24:06advantage of this india growth story
24:08all right let's quickly also look at how the markets are going to be shutting shop now a minute
24:17to go before the markets end of course we are looking at the day's high end today almost a percent
24:21higher 24 848 coming in just toggling with that 24 850 odd mark 239 points higher in
24:29trade for the nifty let's also look at the nifty bank that's also up by 1.4 percent or a smart
24:34rally with volumes that were seen throughout the course of the day a lot of other sectors that pulled
24:38up in trade included media the private banks the financial services up on your screens uh also pharma
24:44index that rallied in trade even the royalty and even the broader markets the mid and small caps that
24:48also pulled up in trade as well look at the media stocks three and a half percent of a rally that has
24:52actually been coming in onto this space as well look at pharma that was up by 1.3 percent let's also look at
24:58the top gainers towards the end of the session today it's tata motors that leads the rally today
25:03among the top movers you can actually see other names also uh coming in sriram finance you have adani
25:09enterprises kotak mahindra bank also pulling up in trade is trend and also sun pharma anywhere between
25:16three to five and a half percent kind of a move is what is being seen especially tata motors is going to be
25:21giving a lot of viewers a sigh of relief 717 this has been one stock that has definitely tested a lot
25:27of patience but let's see whether things turn around for the better now on the laggard's front
25:31you have bachaj finance as the top loser today down by 1.6 percent you have spi and ultra tech
25:36cement as well among those losers about 0.8 percent of a drag that actually can be seen on this one
25:42330 and you see the markets frozen at 24 854 so we managed to pull up above 24 850 mark towards the end
25:50of the session so that's good news 243 bulls coming back on street completely
25:55sudeepji uh help us understand now two uh things uh one is uh tata capital as among those uh ipo
26:03opportunities that are coming in how would you really look at that and of course the markets
26:07secondary markets versus primary markets where do you see the opportunities now
26:11well i think as far as tata capital is concerned it is a good uh ipo uh if you are a long-term investor
26:17uh look it's a steady stable company with asset quality which is probably best in class they have
26:23always maintained good quality asset except the time when they merged a tata model finance with them
26:28and asset quality uh kind of got disturbed for some time but things have improved since then
26:33and uh you know but but the return on equity return on capital uh and the margins are much lower
26:40compared to many other uh competitors in the industry because they have been they've chosen to be very
26:45conservative and lend in a conservative manner which is low yielding uh and thus the returns are lower
26:51but from an investment point of view if you're a long-term investor there is absolutely no problem
26:56in going for tata capital that's uh that's our advice uh as far as uh you know between ipo and
27:02secondary market i think opportunities exists shakshi in both these segments you have to pick up
27:07stocks based on valuation uh i think uh you know i keep telling this that valuation is the most
27:12critical what value you are picking up the stock that will determine how much money you make or
27:17don't make also we keep saying that the valuations are not cheap whether it's a primary or secondary
27:22market so if you are getting into the market now from investment point of view give it some time
27:27you have right you keep about a year a year mark for this investment of yours fantastic let's also now
27:34shift focus and uh try and get you uh to listen to uh you know another top voice from the d street
27:40speaking at the india today conclave mr ashish kamar chauhan the md and the ceo of nse has actually
27:47raised some concerns over day trading he's cautioned that it isn't productive and has also urged
27:52traders to channel their energy into entrepreneurship instead let's take a look at what he had to say
27:58today with changes in technology coming so fast and waves of technology coming fast
28:05it has come to a stage where you require very little money to create new business and that business
28:11uh can actually make huge amounts like we have seen with nandan nilakani narayan moorthy creating
28:17billions out of nowhere by not putting too much money and then came many waves of people and last
28:24where all the swiggy and zomato boys who became billionaires because it's not that they had a lot of
28:28money to put in little money a lot of hard work a lot of brains a lot of exposure and you can make
28:34more money right and for me uh on the same i mean answer to your question that i would suggest all the
28:40day traders might like to become entrepreneurs and do something positive and productive because the day
28:46trading is clearly not productive it is going to lose money for everyone and that is true with
28:53derivatives also if you are not capable uh to understand derivatives or do not have the ability
29:00to handle those shocks which can come with the losses you rather stay away from that activity
