The back-and-forth of the Iran war is creating the same repetitive market patterns day after day. As a result, investors have grown desensitized to new headlines and are beginning to shift their focus toward other potential catalysts.

00:00If you're a millennial or older, you definitely know the movie Groundhog Day.
00:04If you're not familiar, the main plot revolves around a weatherman played by Bill Murray reliving the same day over
00:10and over again.
00:11That's how it's felt in markets lately.
00:13President Trump's ever-shifting Iran war rhetoric moves oil and stocks one way, and then, with the single announcement, the
00:20moves reverse.
00:20It's become such a familiar playbook for investors that they're actually starting to get desensitized to war headlines.
00:26Monday is a great example.
00:28Over the weekend, Trump announced the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, but the move in oil was
00:33muted, and stocks actually rallied.
00:36If that same announcement had happened in the weeks prior, it would have had a much bigger effect.
00:41The takeaway? People have grown numb to the push and pull.
00:43Rather than hanging on every last war headline, investors are instead opting to focus on longer-term fundamentals, like earnings
00:50growth.
00:50That renewed focus has driven a rebound in tech stocks, and the S&P 500 is now back in positive
00:56territory
00:57since the start of the war in late February.
00:59Overall, the vibes are positive in markets right now.
01:02Investors seem to be expecting U.S.-Iran talks to pick back up, and they're clearly banking on a near-term
01:07solution.
01:08But it's still too early to tell if markets have completely shaken out of their Groundhog Day loop.
01:12So far, I'm going to start seeing the U.S.-Iran talks to you.
01:15I'm ready to bring a little bit more about the Comfort State's Hormuz.
01:16But I'm going to say, it will be a good little guy.
01:16I'll be playing with an excellent solution.
