00:00Laura Ingram, this is Ingram Angle from Washington. Tonight, as always, thanks for spending some time
00:04with us. President Trump is focusing on what really matters because the administration has
00:09identified the right problems that actually need solving desperately. So he's not just
00:14re-industrializing America in key industries or tackling the trade deficit or cutting taxes.
00:20He's doing what matters most, reinforcing the core of our military's purpose and focusing
00:25on domestic policy by helping to lower drug prices for seniors. Well, tonight we're tackling both
00:31issues, starting with the military, cutting fat and wiping out woke. That's the focus of tonight's
00:37Angle. Americans know that President Trump loves and respects the troops, and they love and respect
00:46him. That was one of my all-time favorite moments. But love and respect requires honesty and
01:03redirection when you get off track. And the truth is, our recruits have gotten too fat to fight.
01:09Physical training, daily PT will now be mandatory for all members of our armed forces.
01:14Secretary of War can do regular, hard PT. So can every member of our joint force.
01:22Frankly, it's tiring to look out at combat formations or really any formation
01:27and see fat troops. It's a bad look. It is bad, and it's not who we are.
01:33Have you flown on a plane lately? Well, he laid out a detailed 10-point plan.
01:38The bottom line is woke is dead and the warrior is back. So get fit or get out.
01:42The era of politically correct, overly sensitive, don't hurt anyone's feelings. Leadership ends
01:51right now. At every level. The words I'm speaking today are making your heart sink.
02:00Then you should do the honorable thing and resign.
02:03Well, in the end, it's about strength, isn't it? We've spent trillions and trillions on our military
02:09over the past 30 years. Yet too many of our troops are out of shape and too many of our generals and
02:14our admirals have the wrong priorities. I don't want my son serving alongside troops who are out of
02:21shape or in combat unit with females who can't meet the same combat arms physical standards as men.
02:26Standards must be uniform, gender neutral, and high. If not, they're not standards.
02:35For too long, we've promoted too many uniform leaders for the wrong reasons. Based on their
02:41race, based on gender quotas, based on historic so-called firsts. We've weeded out so-called
02:48toxic leaders under the guise of double-blind psychology assessments, promoting risk-averse
02:54go-along-to-get-along-conformists instead.
02:56And of course, whenever objective standards are demanded, you can count on the left to go
03:01absolutely crazy.
03:04Um, why is he obsessed with fat?
03:09Yeah, and fitness. And then also he said he was going to, um, return to the highest male
03:16standard for combat positions because the troops were fat. I just, I don't understand how that
03:23was supposed to be an uplifting message for our military.
03:26He was referring to Colonel Sanders.
03:28I found it, found it totally uplifting. That was great. Now, apparently they prefer a military
03:34that's more like drag queen story time. That's the one they like.
03:37Attention just for being myself on a daily because being queer, being non-binary, someone such as
03:44myself on a regular gets stared at.
03:47I'm at the top of my game. I'm right up there with the big dogs. Girls, come on.
03:51Leave the saving of the world to the men.
03:53Come on, girlfriend.
03:55But the truth is with this directive, Trump is addressing a real problem that's been festering
04:00for decades. I used to cover this on my radio show in the early 2000s. But look at this headline
04:05just going back to 2010. Too fat to fight? Military recruitment grapples with obesity epidemic.
04:112013, obesity, a threat to U.S. military personnel and national security. And from 1959 to 2008,
04:18the percentage of men who were ineligible for enlistment because of their weight doubled,
04:23while the percentage of ineligible women tripled. Total disaster. So instead of raising standards when
04:31this was all going down, Democrat administrations began to lower standards. In order to meet the
04:36recruiting goals, the Biden Pentagon allowed individual service branches to relax their standards,
04:42including on body fat percentage and grooming, personal grooming. Well, Biden's army secretary
04:48explained while they were lowering the bar.
04:50We wanted to make sure that we didn't unfairly have standards for a particular subgroup that
04:58people couldn't perform. We didn't want to disadvantage any subgroups. And when we looked
05:03at that data, what we found was there were subgroups that were disadvantaged. The way to have a test that
05:10meets our objectives was to have age and gender normed tests. How did that approach work?
05:18Well, we went from having about 62 percent of overweight active duty troops in 2008 to nearly
05:2470 percent just a few years ago. So now using body mass index may not be the most accurate assessment in
05:31all cases, but suffice it to say the problem was not solved, but others were created. A focus on
05:37incorporating LGBT propaganda. Oh, then came the George Floyd effect. Biden's chief of naval ops justified
05:45pushing hard left garbage written by Ibram Kendi.
05:50Here's what I know, Congressman. It's a yes or no question, Admiral.
05:52Racism in the United States Navy. Admiral, you recommended every sailor in the United States Navy
05:57read this book. I'm not forcing anybody to read the book. It's on a recommended reading list.
06:02Admiral, did you read the book? I did.
06:03Meanwhile, with our woke at work, our chief adversary, China, of course, they weren't messing
06:11around. No chunky soldiers there. DEI, not a big concern in Beijing. But with Biden,
06:18with him long gone and Trump back as commander in chief, man, things are already starting to turn
06:23around. Recruiting goals are being met ahead of schedule. Of course, the Marines are totally rocking.
06:29Ditto for the National Guard. That is good news. And that's called problem solving. And we've just
06:36begun. That's the angle. Here to react, David Ballavia, Medal of Honor recipient, former staff
06:42sergeant in the U.S. Army. David, I know you know Hegseth. He's gotten a lot of flack today,
06:49too harsh, too mean, too focused on fat. Why did this matter today? And why was this necessary,
06:57given your vast experience in the U.S. military?
07:01Well, first of all, he was born for this moment because that speech he gave was one of the most
07:06incredible things. I've been talking to Rangers and infantrymen and special forces all day. They
07:12are bouncing off the walls. This was a stockholders meeting. The first ridiculous response was that
07:21Secretary Hanks didn't have the authority. The president of the United States doesn't want to
07:26check in on the troops. Here's the reality. For four years, the military couldn't check in on the
07:32president. You know, they talk about the differences between the predecessors at the Secretary of Defense
07:38and Hegseth. Look, we are here for one purpose and one purpose only. I understand there's a lot of
07:44folks at op-ed boards that believe that the military is designed to be a discount for Adam's apple
07:50shaving and laser hair removal. But we've got 25 million communist Chinese that are coming after our
07:59sons and daughters, not the op-ed writers at the Washington Post. Their children will not be on the
08:04battlefield. Hegseth was talking about his kids and the generals and the leaders he wants for his own, you
08:12know, sons and daughters. I thought that was over. I was over the moon. I'm ready to slap a terrorist and do pushups.
08:18And you know what? That's what the president wants from their military. Someone that's ready to fight.
08:24And recruiting goals are great, Lord. Don't get me wrong. We want recruiting goals. The end state
08:29is domination on the battlefield. That's what the end state is. Well, David, you know, Trump was watching
08:34that the video of that the Chinese military parade, right? The big victory celebration and watching
08:41those Chinese soldiers. And he's probably thinking to himself, hmm, pretty, pretty orderly. Not a lot of
08:48heavy, overweight people there. That's the way kind of we used to look. Different, obviously, uniforms,
08:54different goals, believe in liberty and so forth. But it's just ridiculous. We spent trillions and trillions of
08:59dollars. We have not won a war outright since World War Two. Sorry, but we have an armistice don't count.
09:06And I think he's saying, come on. This is the greatest fighting force should be. And let's make
09:14it rock and roll. And I think that's I think it's incredibly positive. He's actually holding the bar
09:19high. We do that. We try to do that with our kids, don't we? We don't lower the bar. We raise the bar.
09:24That's what made America great. How? How? But the fact that we're having this conversation publicly
09:30is the most ridiculous thing in the world. How could you be a general? How could you? You
09:36couldn't win a cola war under the standards that that that this military is conducting itself. And
09:43the other thing is, look, if we're going to have a conversation about maintaining the standards in
09:482025, you know, Pete Hegseth, Secretary Hegseth was talking about getting back to 1990. What is the
09:55reason that we're changing the standards from 1990 to today? What is different? And you talk about
10:02winning wars and the lack there of our forces that have had the success. These generals have been around
10:08for 35 and 40 years. And so the question remains that even if you're fit enough and disciplined enough
10:14to serve in the military, we're still going to go after your career by finding some peccadillo you
10:20did or someone that you miss, you know, that was a big part of the pronouns. And now we're going to
10:25retire you. It's ridiculous. Yeah. Yeah. I loved how he said, no, no one's going to be walking on
10:29eggshells to actually speak common sense going forward. That was so refreshing. I found it all
10:36fantastic. I loved it. I wish I had been in the military when I was, but I love the faces of the
10:41generals. There are a lot of them were really grim face and Trump's like, you know, you can lighten
10:45up a little bit is there like grim face. So David, great to see you as always. Thank you. Come back
10:51soon. All right. President Trump fulfilling another campaign promise today, cutting prescription drug
10:56prices. Introducing Trump Rx. Today, Pfizer is committing to offer all of their prescription
11:03medications to Medicaid and it will be at the most favored nation's prices. It's going to have a huge
11:09impact on bringing Medicaid costs down. This is a critical step forward to our work and to improve
11:14health care and hardworking, low income Americans, especially. Pfizer is going to start selling their
11:20drugs to the government and Americans can buy them directly from Trump Rx dot gov. CMS administrator
11:27Dr. Mehmet Oz was at today's announcement. You saw him in that clip. He's here with me. Dr. Oz,
11:32most favored nation's status for drug prices. It seems like crazy to people that the Europeans
11:39are able to negotiate one set of prices for drugs and Americans are once again carrying the load of
11:46R and D and all these as Pfizer and all these companies rack up billions and billions of dollars
11:51of profit. So how is this going to address this? Well, the first thing we did, and the president was
11:55very wise about, he said, go build a relationship with these guys. And he has me on speed dial at this
11:59point. We're joking about it because he calls all the time to double check myself, Secretary Kennedy,
12:04Chris Klump, who actually negotiated a lot of these deals. He was on top of this. He knows how
12:08to negotiate a deal. And he said, make sure they understand what the real stakes are. And here's
12:12the deal. If you're an American right now watching this show, there's a one in three chance you'll go
12:16to the drugstore and not pick up your medications because you can't afford it. You literally have
12:20Americans choosing between groceries and medications that can be life saving. My job, which is to make
12:24sure Medicare, Medicaid run well, can't function if people don't actually take the medications
12:28they're prescribed. But it doesn't make sense that Europeans would get a free ride. We pay all the
12:33research costs. We're 4% of the population. We're the majority of their profits. And the president
12:37said, we are not paying three times more than Europe on all these drugs anymore. So we went to
12:42the pharma leaders and said, simple deal. We're on to you. Come with us. Let's do this peacefully.
12:47Give us the same prices you're allowing foreign governments to charge you. In return, we're not
12:52going to tariff you. We're not going to impose other burdens on you.
12:55Well, they've gotten a lot of sweetheart deals. I mean, they got one of the Pfizer got one of the
12:58greatest deals of all time during COVID, right? No, no liability. They got the fast track drug
13:03and didn't prevent transmission. And it didn't, didn't prevent the private sector will take
13:08what they can. If you offer to them, the president said, we're done playing around. We're going to
13:12shake the etch-a-sketch. It's a whole new world. Come along. And the reason today was so important,
13:16so historic that I actually, and the president did say this, maybe the biggest announcement ever on a
13:22health issue around pharma is because when the first company, Pfizer, and its CEO, who's very
13:27prominent in the industry, Adam Borlia, come along and say, come, we're going to be with you.
13:32All the other companies start to come as well. We have announcements that we have planned for next
13:35week, the week after. So this is just Pfizer and the others are going to come along.
13:39Yeah, the others are going to come along. And the goal for us is, is to allow the American people to
13:43get access to medications at a price that, again, is equal or better than their European
13:48counterparts. But let me get to specifics. Medicaid, we had a lot of fights on the show
13:51and elsewhere about whether we're treating Medicaid right. The one big, beautiful bill,
13:56which Speaker Johnson, Lita Thun, and other...
13:58He's going to be joining us shortly.
13:59Exactly. For foreshadowing, was so wisely able to get through, was based on the fact we would
14:04make Medicaid more efficient, allow it to function the way it's supposed to function,
14:07the way it was created. This helps that happen because the prices now are dropped for Medicaid
14:10patients.
14:11So Medicaid, Medicare are the biggest consumers of pharmaceuticals in the United States by far.
14:18By far. By the time this president has done his term, 95% of all medications sold in America
14:24will be at the most favored nation pricing or better. 95%.
14:27But Dr. Oz, the Biden administration really has tried to take credit for this.
14:34I think we have the clip. Let's watch.
14:36He wants to get away with, get rid of the ability of Medicare to, for the ability to,
14:44for the, us to be able to negotiate drug prices with the big pharma companies. Well, guess what?
14:50We got it, we got it down to 15, excuse me, $35 for insulin instead of $400. No more than $2,000
14:58for every senior, no matter what they, how much prescription they need.
15:03Well, I didn't realize we were playing that clip, but that's, you know, it's, you know,
15:08you get the point.
15:08They didn't take credit for very much that I could tell.
15:10Well, the dementia drugs probably were not in part, part of that.
15:13But let me just, one of the points that he made was his $2,000 payment.
15:16What the Biden administration did was say, you can charge us whatever you want.
15:20We'll just use taxpayer dollars to pretend it was cheaper.
15:23This president who's a businessman says, no way.
15:26That was a scam. So that wasn't really, that was just robbing Peter to pay Paul.
15:29It was buying an election basically because you're going to just pay off expenses instead of actually
15:33doing what you have to do, get to the root cause of the problem. And let me just brag on Chris
15:37Klump for a second. When this president can bring in people like him, he built a company worth hundreds
15:41of millions of dollars. Secretary Kennedy and I met him day one. And because they want to be part of
15:46the Trump administration, top notch people like Chris Klump come in the industry, coming out of
15:50industry into government. When that happens, we can negotiate. When that happens, we are no longer outmanned.
15:55Well, because you were not considered enemies of business or enemies of, you know, it's not really
16:02a free market, a government's involved, but you actually were considered sophisticated bargainers
16:07and negotiators. But the Biden administration was just, it was about giveaways, but masquerading
16:12the giveaways as something else. And we also don't want to squash innovation. What makes America
16:16great is we innovate, we change, and we're not dulling that bleed at all. Next thing, bring them all
16:20back. All the manufacturing back, Dr. Oz. That's part of the deal. It's part of the deal.
16:24Well, that's the next appearance. Dr. Oz, always great to see you. And he was beaming in the Oval
16:28Office today. I loved it. And coming up, the clock is ticking. The Democrats hold the government
16:33hostage once again. House Speaker Mike Johnson is here next. Remember the time when the Democrat
16:39Party was capable of rationality and reason? In 1995, Clinton worked with Gingrich. And in 2016,
16:47even Obama was serious about deporting people. But now we're less than five hours away from the
16:53government. Partial shutdown. And Democrats seem to have lost their minds. The hard left is staring
16:59them down. And we're facing the first shutdown since 2018. And why is this happening? Because
17:04Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is terrified. He knows the radicals run the show and thinks that
17:10if he works with the Republicans, AOC will have the primary knives out.
17:14We are not going to be held hostage by the Democrats for a trillion, more than a trillion dollars in new
17:22spending and all kinds of other, you know, items on their liberal wish list to include free health
17:28care for illegal immigrants in this country. Well, that's been the main Republican talking
17:33point. But Schumer's denying it. They say, oh, the Democrats want
17:38undocumented immigrants to get health care, to get the federal dollars of health care.
17:44That is utter bull. And they know it.
17:48Here to discuss House Speaker Mike Johnson. Mr. Speaker, thanks for coming into the studio.
17:52We'll get your response to that in a moment. We just learned moments ago from Chad Perger on
17:57Capitol Hill that the GOP bill to keep the government open may be getting the support of three Democrats
18:05now in the Senate. So the dam may be breaking. But Schumer's, I mean, he's putting his foot down,
18:12is he not? Yeah, he is. And you nailed it there, Laura. Hit the nail right on the head.
18:16He's doing that for his own benefit. Remember what happened in March? We had a CR. He had to do the
18:21right thing to keep the government open. Continuing resolution, you hill geek.
18:24Yes, that's it. To keep the government open so we could do our jobs, Chuck Schumer went out and said
18:28it would be so dangerous to shut the government down. Remember, we have him on tape. His entire career,
18:32he's been saying that. Now he has suddenly shifted gears. Why? He's afraid of AOC. He thinks he's
18:38going to get challenged in the next election, so he has to fight Trump, even if it means throwing the
18:42American people under the bus. That's exactly what's going on. And I think Senate Democrats
18:45understand that. They don't want to be along for the ride. Well, people should remember that even
18:49when the government shuts down, and we remember what happened last time, federal employees do get
18:54back pay. So the pay comes back to them. So it's not like people are going to have to sell their
18:59homes or anything. That's just ridiculous. This New York Times poll that they just really showed
19:04that 65 percent of Americans do not want the Democrats to shut down the government if their
19:11demands are not met. Some Republicans are actually surprised by that because they often lose the
19:16shutdown wars. What is what is what's what's clicking there that in shutdowns past perhaps didn't with
19:23the American people? Well, because the American people are smart, they can see what's happened.
19:26The House Republicans did our job. The Senate Republicans are trying to. We passed the clean
19:30resolution, a simple, clean resolution. Why? It's very important. We're trying to get Congress to
19:35work again, the regular appropriations process. We're supposed to do 12 separate bills that are
19:39carefully debated. I remember those days. Remember? We haven't done it in a long time, but we're forcing
19:43the muscle memory back. The problem is we ran out of clock because it takes time to do that,
19:47and the fiscal year is tonight at midnight. So we just did a simple, clean resolution,
19:52give us till November 21 to finish the process. Chuck Schumer is stopping it for raw political
19:57purposes. People see through that and imagine what it is he's arguing. He wants to give free
20:03health care to illegal aliens. But he says that's not true. Democrats say it's expanding Medicaid,
20:09getting dollars back for Medicaid, and it leaves some room for unauthorized immigrants. I call them
20:16undocumented Democrats, but they're unauthorized immigrants in some cases, and there's discretion
20:23to use the monies toward individuals who are not here lawfully.
20:27Wrong. Read his own legislation. He filed a CR as a counterproposal, and it has all the details in it.
20:33What they're trying to do is roll back the reforms, the very important necessary reforms that we
20:37included in the big, beautiful bill, the working families tax cut. It's had the desired effect. The CBO,
20:42which is, you know, the neutral arbiter supposedly that the Democrats cite all the time, came out
20:47three weeks ago and said, it worked. It's reducing premiums. Why? Because we got able-bodied young
20:53men off of Medicaid. They should have never been there in the first place. And we got illegal aliens
20:57off as well. Millions of people removed from the rolls, which makes health care more affordable for
21:03everybody. They want to roll that back. Why? Because they want illegal aliens to be voters for their
21:07side. That's what this is about. So the three who voted for the GOP bill tonight in the Senate,
21:13Catherine Cortez, Masto of Nevada, Fetterman, Pennsylvania, and Angus King of Maine. So he's
21:18an independent, I don't know. Yeah, kind of an independent. He votes for the Democrats. He votes
21:22for the Democrats. So those are the three. So explain to the American people what happens,
21:27let's say you could win this shutdown war here. What happens after the government's funded
21:33until November 21st? What in that interim is going to happen? So we don't end up in the same
21:40position again. Right. It's a very important period of time that will allow the appropriators
21:44in both parties. The spenders of our money. The spenders of our money to do their job.
21:49They got 12 separate appropriations bills done through the committee in the House. The Senate's
21:52working through them as well. We just need more time to process it through both chambers. So if we
21:56have until November 21, we are very optimistic. Laura, we can get Congress to work again. We can
22:01do separate appropriations bills instead of that omnibus monster at the end of the year
22:05that everybody hates. The Cromnibus, whatever we call it. It's a nightmare, and it's always the
22:10nightmare before Christmas. It's always right up until then. Speaker Johnson, you have a very,
22:15very, very narrow majority. At a scale of one to 10, how likely is it that the Republicans build on
22:21this very slim majority next year? We're going to win in the midterms. Absolutely. We're going to have
22:24a big victory, and I think we can expand that majority so we can keep going. We have to give
22:28President Trump four years and not two. Imagine if the Democrats took over the House. They didn't
22:33be getting ready for the investigations. They're already ramping it up. Speaker Johnson,
22:36thanks for coming in. Great to see you. Thanks a lot. And coming up, the Democrats lionize a new
22:41illegal. Trump targets massive investments in first Middle East trip. President Trump's Persian Gulf tour
22:53is his first major foreign visit of his second term and comes amid regional war and nuclear talks.
23:01President Donald Trump is embarking this week on a high-stakes tour of the Persian Gulf region,
23:07targeting business deals and strategic partnerships with three oil-rich nations, Saudi Arabia,
23:14the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. The trip marks Trump's first major foreign visit of his new term
23:21and comes as nuclear negotiations with Iran drag on and as war continues between Israel and Palestinian
23:27terror organizations, Hamas, in the Gaza Strip. While business in the official focus,
23:34the backdrop is anything but calm. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt described the mission
23:41as part of Trump's broader vision that extremism is defeated through commerce and cultural exchanges.
23:48Under former President Joe Biden, US relations with the Gulf states cooled, particularly after Biden
23:55vowed to make Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman a pariah over the 2018 killing of journalist
24:02Jamal. But Trump has reversed course embracing a more transactional approach that has worn ties
24:08with regional leaders. The overall goal here is that the United States is reminding our Middle East
24:16allies that we're here to stay, said Greg Rowan, Executive Director of the Middle East Forum.
24:22We're here to promote our joint interests rather than the abandonment policies under the previous
24:26administration.
24:29Big money, big expectations. Saudi Arabia has already pledged $600 billion in US investments,
24:37spanning weapon purchases, technology transfers, artificial intelligence and the stock market.
24:44Trump has said he believes the Saudis may ultimately commit up to $1 trillion.
24:49While Saudi leaders aim to diversify their economy away from oil, those massive investments still
24:54depend on oil revenues, which could be threatened by Trump's push to lower global energy prices.
25:01In addition to economic deals, Trump and bin Salam are expected to discuss a possible civil nuclear
25:07program and expanded defense cooperation. Such as agreements were once linked to a potential
25:12Abraham Accord-style normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel.
