00:00Well, anomalous warmth continues today into the weekend. It'll be just less hot today and tomorrow
00:05compared to normal, but still above normal, and the 80s are back as we end September.
00:19So still warm today, just not quite 83 degrees in the Twin Cities at least, probably upper 70s,
00:24still 80s in southwestern Minnesota though today, but you can see that shift here in the 60s for
00:29northern Minnesota. That's behind this first of two cool fronts we talked about yesterday,
00:33kind of has washed out just to our south. We've got another cool front to the west. These are just
00:38kind of reinforcing the northern edge of the warmer air, so just a little cooler, still way warmer than
00:44normal however, but this next front is attached to a pretty vigorous little clipper system that will
00:49move across Canada, but on the southern end we will see probably a few showers with that frontal
00:53boundary in far northern Minnesota. We're talking mainly just in the overnight, so most of us won't
00:58even see these showers. 10 p.m., maybe a few showers up around Halleck, Roseau, and then as we end the
01:02early morning hours, International Falls, Crane Lake, maybe a couple of showers, but south of that
01:07we won't even probably have any clouds with this frontal passage, but it will keep some slightly
01:12cooler temperatures in place, just not as ridiculously above normal tomorrow, but back to the ridiculously
01:17above normal temperatures by Monday and Tuesday as this blast of heat for this time of year really moves
01:23in. So mid-70s tomorrow, 60s in northern Minnesota, again still 5 to 10 degrees above the average, just
01:29not quite as warm as yesterday and what we will be seeing again here by Monday, Tuesday. These are
01:34forecast temperature anomalies for Saturday afternoon, still in that 5 to 10 degrees above normal range.
01:39Normal highs now are in the 60s across the state, even just upper 50s to the north, and we'll see low
01:4480s again in western Minnesota already Sunday afternoon. Those 80s expand eastward for the final two days of
01:50September, Monday, Tuesday, ending it on a very warm note. In fact, I think we're going to see 90 in
01:54parts of western Minnesota Monday afternoon. That is about 25 degrees above average. Probably not that
02:01warm in the Twin Cities, but mid-80s, pretty good bet Monday afternoon, that is a good 17 degrees above
02:06average. Tuesday, last day of September, look at all these 80s across southern, central, western Minnesota,
02:11and as we look ahead, first days of October, this is the 6 to 10 day temperature outlook, strong likelihood of
02:18above normal temperatures. Looks like we continue the 70s at least here for the first days of October, which
02:23is a good 10, 15 degrees above the average. Now, there are signs that we see some cooler air by next weekend.
02:29How cool? That's the question. The bulk of the cold air stays to the north, but we do see at least some glancing blows
02:35from some of that cooler air next weekend, and that will help to touch off the next real chance of any rainfall
02:40across the state. Looks like Friday night, a decent chance of some showers, but we're talking a week away.
02:45So trying to time this out, and how much rain we get, and how cool we get, is still a question mark
02:50that far in advance. But it looks like we could see some changes at least towards more normal weather
02:55by next weekend. 78 today, still very warm, a good 10 degrees above the average at least.
03:02And then tomorrow, a few degrees cooler behind that front, but again, that's still a good 8 degrees
03:06above average. Lots of sunshine all weekend long too, just a stunning weekend. 77 Sunday, the 80s are back
03:13for Monday, Tuesday. 83 Monday again. 81 Tuesday, the final day of September. And then look at those
03:19first couple days of October, upper 70s. A good 12 degrees above average, still more sunshine.
03:25But as we mentioned, maybe some changes finally by next weekend that we'll be keeping our eye on.
