00:00Well, we have an unsettled day today as a disturbance moves through, creating some showers and
00:03thunderstorms. Still warm though, low 70s for most of us. The sunshine is back tomorrow and even warmer
00:08air ahead. So not quite as warm today with less sunshine. For southern Minnesota, we'll see more
00:24clouds than sun, certainly. Kind of what you see is what you get. But still some low 70s, I think,
00:28and off to the west where we'll clear out quicker, probably mid to upper 70s. We have this upper
00:33level disturbance we pointed out yesterday to the west, slowly moving east. That is creating the
00:38clouds and at least some scattered showers and even a couple of thunderstorms, but mainly just some
00:43plain old rain activity here. Now this is just one model. The models are not handling the rain today
00:48particularly well. This is the high resolution rapid refresh model. It's a little too slow with
00:53those showers. So probably some scattered midday showers and then spotty thunderstorms this
00:57afternoon. And a little bit muggy, especially later in the day. Dew points in the 60s behind those
01:02showers. And we're going to see those dew points in the 50s and 60s back and forth right through the
01:06weekend. So there will be enough moisture when any disturbance comes by to help create some
01:11thundershowers. But really not looking at any washouts though after today. We probably will see
01:16some fog tonight though with that increase in moisture. Much of central, northeastern Minnesota,
01:20western Wisconsin will start the day with fog tomorrow. We should burn that off through the morning.
01:23A lot of clouds today as I mentioned. Northwestern Minnesota will see more sun. But then tomorrow
01:28afternoon we should see a fair amount of sunshine here across much of the state except for probably
01:33up around Lake Superior, northern Wisconsin, hanging on to some of that fog and cloud cover.
01:37Back into the upper 70s tomorrow near 80 to the west potentially. And it's going to stay a little
01:42cooler right near Lake Superior in the 60s here. But jumping ahead to Saturday, Thursday we probably hit 80.
01:48And if we don't, Thursday, Friday into the weekend, early next week looks like 80s. In fact,
01:52mid-80s, maybe even 90 in southwestern Minnesota. Friday and Saturday afternoons, we've got this
01:57upper level ridge pattern largely staying in place. We'll see a couple little hiccups here. A few
02:02upper level disturbances come through that will create some isolated thunder over the weekend.
02:06But overall, this upper level area of high pressure and warmth will persist for the next 10 days to
02:14two weeks. We're looking at above normal temperatures. This is the European model. You can see we're
02:18staying 70s and even 80s. And by the end of that period, the average high is only 70. So we're
02:24going to be above it. Now we're going to be in that warm, dry part of the upper level ridge here
02:28Wednesday, Thursday. But that pattern will temporarily break down a bit as this upper level
02:32trough comes through. And that tends to create a little bit more unsettled weather. Again, we're not
02:37looking at any all day rain or storms here over the weekend. But we will start to see a couple of
02:42these disturbances come through right up over the ridge and create at least some isolated thunder
02:47late Friday, maybe Saturday too. Right now it's looking like maybe Sunday, the better chance of
02:52some more scattered showers and thunderstorms. And it may be in the overnight, more numerous activity
02:57probably to the west, closer to that upper level trough that's going to try to move east. But these
03:01patterns tend to get kind of stuck or slow down more than what the models like to do with them. So
03:07TBD on the weekend forecast. But again, either way, it does not look like any washout
03:12over the weekend. In fact, it's going to be quite warm. 71 today, upper 70s tomorrow with
03:16more sunshine, decreasing clouds after that morning fog. Thursday looks nice. Friday, Saturday,
03:22Sunday overall pretty nice here. Mid 80s for highs. Better chances of some thunder as we head
03:28into the latter part of the weekend. But again, it's not going to be widespread or numerous showers
03:33and storms we're looking at. But yeah, still near 80 into next Friday. So above normal temperatures
03:39overall.
03:42We'll see you next time.
