00:00I think other things than hockey and spend time with my family and friends, like I said.
00:06But then, yeah, usually it's just after two weeks, you're starting to feel restless.
00:11You want to do something, start a little easier, like play some games like tennis or pedal or something, something like that.
00:19How surprised were you last year? Just how easy, how it seemed easy when Marshan comes out of the team.
00:27And you and Lundy and him just boom. It seemed like it just clicked.
00:32Like, did you guys feel that instantaneously or did it did it take more work than it looked like it did?
00:37Yeah, actually, it kind of surprised me, too, how easy the transition was.
00:43Like we played a few games towards the end of the regular season.
00:49And, yeah, we were getting chances every game.
00:52And I didn't feel that like a whole year.
00:55And offensively, especially for me, it was a huge boost that he came in.
01:00Yeah, everything clicked pretty well, like you said.
01:03And obviously, playoffs, we did a good job.
01:07Yeah, well, that's been all had for them.
01:09That's like it's one of the most amazing things to me is unlike any other sport, when you see new guys come in,
01:17they always talk about the amount of time it's going to take to get used to that player, you know, his game or whatever.
01:25Every player that's been added to this team has seemingly fit right in with their game, how they play.
01:33And they can just go out and play the game they've been playing the whole career.
01:36And it fits. It just fits.
01:38And is that surprising to you?
01:40Because you probably had new teammates before.
01:43And you're like, oh, this is what I like.
01:45This is what you take some time to get accustomed to playing with that guy.
01:49But not here.
01:50It just seems to work seamlessly.
01:52Yeah, I mean, I think just the culture here, everybody works for the team.
01:56And especially playoffs, like everybody blocks shots, everything, like from top PP guy to all the way down the lineup.
02:07And I think, obviously, all the guys we bring in are professionals.
02:12They can adjust their game too a little bit to, like, play the way we want to and bring their best, obviously.
02:20What's Nico Mikola like off the ice?
02:23He seems like the most terrifying thing that's ever graced the ice.
02:26Tell him what you call him.
02:27I call him the polar bear.
02:28Like, he, like, remember, like, there was at one point where, like, he was, like, shoving somebody in the ice last year.
02:33I'm just like, I don't understand anybody who would want to go against him in a hockey game.
02:37Yeah, I think on ice, he is, like, one of the intense, at least fins.
02:42Like, I know he plays hard and doesn't back down.
02:46But off ice, he's more relaxed, I think.
02:49Funny, funny guy.
02:50Just pretty regular guy.
02:52But, like, easy to spend time with and have fun.
02:55Like, do you feel like a lot of you guys have that switch?
02:59Because everybody says, you know, how hard of a style the Panthers have brought to the league.
03:05Like, you guys, it's become so old hat that it feels like you break these teams down as a series goes on.
03:12Like, they just, they can't keep up that intensity.
03:15How long did it take to build that for you guys as a franchise?
03:19Yeah, I think, obviously, we've been building that past few years now, three, four years.
03:26And I think just from day one camp, we started working hard and go through the regular season.
03:34Obviously, it's hard to bring it every night.
03:36There's games, one or two, like, you can't bring your best.
03:40Like, obviously, trying to, like, it's just so hard to do.
03:44So, playoffs, it's tough for the other teams.
03:48Like you said, we're trying to play for the game seven and break their knees down.
03:53Like, go after them and, like, play as hard as we can.
03:57Obviously, yeah, it's hard to play like that.
04:00So, trying to do off-ice, everything good, like, recovery and food-wise.
04:06From your standpoint, you guys got an opportunity to do something pretty historic.
04:10Like, the three-peat's been elusive in hockey for a while.
04:14Do you think about that at all?
04:16Or is it too big, too far away to even put that in the scope right now?
04:21Yeah, I mean, obviously, we're going for it.
04:23Like, we have all the tools for it.
04:24We got a good team again.
04:26Like, everything's good to go.
04:28But, obviously, it's a lot of work.
04:32It's still far, far away.
04:34So, can't think of it too much.
04:36It's such a grind.
04:37Like, do you, as your years have gone on, like, is there any different way you go about the regular season?
04:43As far as this run has gone?
04:47Yeah, I mean, obviously, you try to put yourself in a good spot.
04:52Think of the playoffs.
04:53And I think just the main thing is to get in.
04:56Like, last year, we started all the series away.
05:01So, it wasn't an issue.
05:03So, just to get in the playoffs.
05:05And, obviously, you want to finish as high as you can.
05:07Was it your first time meeting your country's president?
05:10No, we met him last time.
05:12So, it's like it's become a tradition now.
05:14Yeah, we've seen this a couple times.
05:16So, you guys get to go, like, does that blow your family away?
05:20Does that blow you away that you're in these kind of moments?
05:24Yeah, I mean, it's pretty special to meet him once and even more than, like, a couple times already.
05:31So, it's an honor.
05:32And it's always a pretty special moment.
05:35What are those dinners like?
05:36Are they fancy?
05:38We had lunch.
05:39But we had a little sauna after with him.
05:42So, that was pretty cool, too.
05:43The sauna with the president of Finland?
05:45Yeah.
05:47That's incredible.
05:49Could you imagine if we had lunch with Trump?
05:53He goes, hey, let's go sit in the sauna.
05:56Let's go sit in the sauna.
05:56Let's hang out.
05:58Ed Toulouse, Torino.
05:59Hey, man, good luck this season.
06:00Thanks for spending some time with us, man.
06:01It was a blast.
06:02And we're looking forward to it.
06:04Appreciate it.
