Mike McDaniel Lies To His Team and Says Tua Tagovailoa Is Not Miami Dolphins Savior

Tobin and Leroy react to Mike McDaniel's flat out lie that Tua is not the team's savior.

00:00Uh, the dolphins from Barry Jackson, he tweets out with barriers, Braxton burials

00:04loss for the year, the dolphins were scheduled to work out some receivers

00:07today.

00:08Um, he says they have a few options.

00:11Sign a new guy to the 53, sign a new guy to the practice squad and promote

00:15the Eskridge who he says has return abilities or Eric as a comma.

00:20Uh, they could also elevate that scourge.

00:22He has one elevation left to the 53 man, so they could do that.

00:27And apparently if they do that, he, uh, they, they would only have to clear

00:30one roster spot for two, who's obviously going to come back from

00:33concussion protocol this week.

00:34So the, basically the practice squad is like 10 day.

00:40Yeah.

00:40But I think you only get so many promotions.

00:46So that's a, that's something to keep an eye on what the

01:23and best opportunity you may ever get.

01:26You're only going to fail when you start thinking of it like that.

01:29You got to think of it as just, I'm going to play football.

01:32And, and so a lot of guys get, when I hear guys with interviews and

01:37they talk about how big it is, and this is huge and this is that, and

01:41this no dude, to you, it's a football game, the circumstances in which you

01:46perform are always going to be the same.

01:48You go in the field, you try to perform.

01:51Right.

01:51So like, and don't worry about the outcome.

01:54The younger players tend to worry about the outcome more than the process.

02:00Well, speaking of receivers Tua and the non-concussion category did talk a

02:06little bit about the football team.

02:08And he was asked about the idea of the team really struggling to get the ball

02:13to Tyree kill and Jaylon Waddle in his absence, here's what Tua had to say

02:18about that.

02:19Listen, I think it's really tough to ask any of our quarterbacks to come in, to

02:24do the footwork that we've been doing for the past two years to see fast guys

02:31running and seeing the space that's there and asking them to kind of process all

02:37of that.

02:38We, we, we looked at film, we were able to see what we missed and what we could

02:44have got better with, but it's, it's a team sport.

02:47It shouldn't take one position for this whole thing to, to, to crumble.

02:51It, everybody needs to be on their, their P's and Q's as well.

02:56I mean, I don't know, Tua, I mean, that's, that's, that's nice of you to say

02:59about the quarterbacks, but like, I get it, you know, it is a team sport.

03:06We always put way too much into the quarterbacks, but if those

03:09quarterbacks are stinkers, my question is this as an offensive coordinator,

03:17if you have a guy that you've done all this stuff with, can't you simplify the,

03:23the, the, the route combinations for the next guy?

03:30So for example, you ever hear to say, Oh, they're going to give

03:33him a nice three level throw.

03:36You got a shallow cross, a mid cross and a deep post or a deep corner.

03:42Right?

03:43So you got one, two, three, they're right in front of you.

03:46You rolling out to the right, pick one.

03:49Like, why can't we, why couldn't we have done stuff like that?

03:55Like it's still like every receiver knows how to run a damn route tree.

04:02You going into a game and changing that route tree doesn't mean all of a sudden

04:07the damn wide receivers don't know how to run routes, you know, you got to try.

04:13Do you think it was so much as like, he really wanted them to be conservative?

04:20I do.

04:21Because again, to ask somebody else to come in, make decisions, the way to

04:29ahead to make decisions is unfair, not only to the team, but to those guys.

04:33So basically he tried to go into his playbook that kind of made breeds easier.

04:41They weren't those quick throws, but then you put your quarterback in trouble

04:46because now you're patting the ball back there.

04:48It is amazing how much, uh, a guy like Mike McDaniel, who were saying, you

04:52know, old wheelbarrow balls, you know, he would go for it no matter what

04:56he'd go for it on his own 20.

04:59Bad quarterback will make you get conservative quick.

05:01Is he, is he any different than any other coach?

05:04No, but that's what I'm saying.

05:05Like it changes you as a person, you know, it almost seemed like it broke

05:10Mike McDaniel as a man, not having to, he was like, dude, I'm shook.

05:16I'm broke.

05:17Yeah.

05:17I'm trying everything yet.

05:20He did tell the media that he told the team to, uh, is not our savior.

05:27Across the board.

05:28I think everyone would say that he's the leader of this team.

05:30So I think that's a powerful thing, um, that, you know, his, his,

05:35his team will appreciate.

05:37You know, I think it's important to, uh, to state and to, to, you know, the, what

05:43I just finished talking to the team about is that he's, um, he, he's not the savior

05:49either.

05:50Um, there's, there's a lot of things that have to be looked at from, uh, an

05:55individual's game and, uh, you know, all three phases, um, to get there, uh,

06:01because, you know, it's, I'm for it right now.

06:07Let me tell you something, you know, as much as I like Mike McDaniel and I

06:12support what he's trying to do.

06:13And I get the dilemma that he's been in the last few weeks.

06:16That's a lie.

06:18Why?

06:19That's a lie because I would tell you, like, tell you right now, they say tools

06:24coming back and everybody all around the city say,

06:31right.

06:32You got, wait, watch out, watch out, watch how fast, watch how fast these

06:37routes that waddle in, in Tyreek running now, uh, coach, uh, if he's not the

06:43savior, you think like some smart-ass player just goes, how could we just

06:47heard you cry tears of joy before the meeting?

06:54Uh, Mike, we just got the final clearance.

06:55He's good to go.

07:01As a coach, you're always going to say the, the, the, you're going to say

07:07the air, expose some words in your own way, but that's a lie.

07:14We knew that when the heat we're playing, we said we got enough.

07:22Spo would say that when he had Henry Walker going out there on a 10 day,

07:26he goes, yeah, we have enough.

07:28So, so we get a, we get, we get what everybody's trying to do.

07:34And you would hope that you could have somebody to hold a Fort now, but let's

07:39be clear, there's certain positions on your football field, okay.

07:46That or on your team or in your organization that without

07:50them, you don't function.

07:52Did you see the damn Philadelphia Eagles or did you see the New York

07:56Giants without Saquon, man, you see what I mean is day and night.

08:03You got that dude, but let's not, let's try to, we can just plug somebody.

08:09You ain't pay that man, 40, $50 million.

08:11Cause you can plug somebody else in a hundred percent.

08:13Like, look, there's a reason they've referred to him as highest paid

08:17employee before the season started.

08:18Like you can tell me he's not the savior.

08:21But why are you giving them all?

08:28biggest line mover in the game.
