00:15to no longer use his name, image, and likeness
00:19because they're allowing cornerback DJ Pickett to wear number five.

00:37So if everybody is unfamiliar with it, this is usually the rule in most universities.
00:44If you win the Heisman, your numbers retire.

00:58The ESPN reports, one of the things that drew this on is that
01:01he feels like he's not being treated the same as Joe Burrow.
01:08Because Joe Burrow's number is retired.
01:10Yeah, nobody's worn nine since he's left.

01:13And apparently, one of the things that happened here with this DJ Pickett is
01:19that he was lured that he could wear his number.
01:23And I guess Brian Kelly kept it up and Lane Kiffin was like, I don't care.
01:28And so Lane Kiffin just gave him the number.
01:32But Jaden Daniels has come out and says, here's the statement.
01:35It says, the Daniels family is deeply disappointed and feels profoundly
01:38disrespected by LSU's decision to give Jaden's number to another player.
01:42Jaden and his family had every reason to believe that his number
01:45would remain a meaningful part of LSU's legacy and would be honored
01:47and protected in recognition of his extraordinary contributions
01:50to the university.
01:54So, that's that.
01:56It's like, again, I know most universities, you win the Heisman,
