10:50 - Race Starts (Round 24)
Transcript
00:00Welcome back to Donington Park. We're all set for our fourth and final BSB race of the weekend here and the last race before the season heads into the showdown rounds, which Kyle Ride will go into as the series leader. He's guaranteed that honor. Thanks to three really different but really impressive performances, James, that have wielded a second and two wins so far.
00:22He's been superb so far this weekend. He looked initially like he might not have the pace but worked on the bike and then the last two winning and just using his head, looking comfortable and you can just see just more and more belief, more and more confidence and he's a real threat now.
00:38And using that confidence, Danny, to make aggressive moves, big moves at fast parts of this track.
00:43Yeah, he's just doing everything right this weekend. Obviously, we saw the moves get made in that last race through Craner Curve and then up through the old hairpin and that.
00:50Let's get this here. This is incredible. Up the inside here, that's brave. That is. But yeah, you know, but we keep saying if he wants to win this championship, you know, he knows what it takes to win a championship.
00:59He needs to be making these moves. You can't, you know, no one's going to give it to you here. So yeah, he's doing a great job.
01:05Once he made that move shaky and put Scott Redding between himself and Brad, it was clear from Brad's body language as well that he wasn't going to waste any time.
01:12That's right. Yeah, Bradley, they've had a tough weekend down at Race Base Yamaha, but got things turned around in this race.
01:19Great to see Brad back at the sharp end. And I know that they're going to make a couple of little tweaks for the bike for this last race.
01:26And I think that, yeah, I think we could see another person winning one, hopefully.
01:30I think if you felt, Danny, after that second race, if those tweaks work, what, 5% is probably all that Brad's lacking to go with Kyle and really push him?
01:40I think numbers have never been my strong point, Matthew.
01:42But one would suggest that with the laps that he got in that last race, you know, he's confident.
01:48And you could see Brad riding to his full potential. As soon as he stops riding to his full potential, we see it, don't we?
01:53You know, his head's a bit higher, his head was down. And I think this next race, after the last one, he's going to be a force.
01:58Yeah, I mean, I think that's the first time we've seen him look really back to being Brad all weekend, that last race.
02:03So I think that actually, yeah, definitely, he's on pole position. A couple of little tweaks. I could see him fighting for the front all the way on this, definitely.
02:10A couple of riders missing from the grid behind us, unfortunately. James, Danny Kent and Andy Irwin.
02:14Yeah, so, I mean, it's a real shame for both of them. This is Kent. He just touches the, you know, it rained, the kerbs and the paint was slippy.
02:22And whether he was just a... At the end of the day, it's a mistake that it happens. The shame is maybe damaged and broke a sign in his hand.
02:33Big high side from Irwin there. And I thought that Irwin might be making it back out, though.
02:40Well, the latest is that the team have withdrawn Andy from the grid. So he's not out there, unfortunately.
02:47But James, who's with him is?
02:48Cheers, boys. You have...
02:51...for Andy. Just been finding...
02:54...form and clipped a kerb.
02:57...thing and the kerbs, because it's been humid, they had that shower before the last race.
03:04...kerbs, I felt them on the grid and...
03:07...grid was dry, the time, but actually the paint just...
03:11...water, your feet were squeaking on it.
03:15...fell foul of that.
03:16Yeah, I was just testing there.
03:22This is Tommy Bridewell, third row, seventh last time.
03:25Finding something of a little...
03:27...got something you can fight with at the front of you.
03:30Yeah.
03:31...
03:32It's been tough.
03:35I need to apologise, to be honest, to Honda, because I do stupidly vent my frustration.
03:42And these guys are doing an unbelievable job.
03:46They are working day and night.
03:47They are trying so hard.
03:49And me sort of being a stroppy kid sometimes doesn't help.
03:52But it's just my passion.
03:53I'm so committed and focused to win.
03:59So I want to apologise to them, because they don't deserve for me to keep permanently on it.
04:07But they also appreciate my focus.
04:11We are improving.
04:12We are honestly improving.
04:14We've just got to be a bit realistic that we're struggling a little bit.
04:18And we've just got to think of the long game.
04:21It's a long three rounds still left after here.
04:24And 2026 is obviously this bike as well.
04:28So, you know, we need to get it right.
04:30But also I want to say, sorry to see Andy's not on the grid.
04:34He's from that crash earlier.
04:35He's hurt his arm.
04:36Because he's been doing a good job.
04:39I'm happy.
04:41It's a tiring day, actually, isn't it?
04:42What have you been like?
04:43Three races we've had to do.
04:44It's been terrible for us.
04:48Yeah, I'll keep chipping away.
04:49Thanks for it.
04:50Good luck.
04:50Thanks, guys.
04:51Cheers.
04:51I've probably got about three minutes left.
04:55I want to, if I can, I spoke to him all this week.
04:59Another man been chipping away is we get past his dad run.
05:05Have a little bit of a word.
05:09Leon, how do you assess your week?
05:12This place that well.
05:14You're there or thereabouts in the back of the show all the time.
05:18Yeah, pace with four to go.
05:19We've got pace for podium.
05:20The first five laps we've been injuring.
05:23Self a little bit.
05:24We're losing a lot in the last two turns.
05:27And we're a good second off what we did here back in May, June.
05:30So, yeah, we're making some big steps with the bike each time.
05:34And the results have got slightly better.
05:36And I've always passed people with two laps to go.
05:38So, hopefully, if I can get a little bit better start,
05:40we can have a little bit more close to the front.
05:42Good luck, Leon.
05:43Cheers.
05:43Never stops fighting that fella right front row.
05:45Just about got enough time to get in front row.
05:49Front row every single time.
05:50Already winner this weekend in race one yesterday.
05:54He's got red in.
05:56Scott, another front row start.
05:57He's got that last time.
06:00Exactly that.
06:01I was being polite, but he took advantage of that then.
06:05No, man, we got stuck in.
06:07We had a good race.
06:08I just didn't really have the grip underneath me.
06:10But I tried to battle as much as I could.
06:12But in the end, once we got a few corners ahead, that was that.
06:16But let's see now.
06:17Different race.
06:17A little bit different condition again.
06:19Get our head down and go for it.
06:21Good luck, Scott.
06:22Cheers.
06:23Right, middle of the front row.
06:25One minute 45.
06:26We'll have a quick word with Kyle again, double winner this weekend.
06:30Chatting with Ilya Mikulczyk.
06:32Actually, Ilya, great goon rider.
06:36By the way, nice stop after your race.
06:38Lovely.
06:38Kyle, perfect week.
06:40I don't want to jinx you.
06:41Perfect weekend for you so far, son.
06:43Yeah, it's been very good.
06:45The only bad session really I've had is the one behind Scott when I come in second.
06:49And that's obviously not bad, is it, in BSB?
06:51The level is at the minute.
06:52So we're riding really good this weekend.
06:54Proud of myself.
06:55Wanted to win a race for all the fans, and I've done two.
06:57So, yeah, anything else is a bonus.
06:59What are you capable of here?
06:59Another podium.
07:00We'll just finish your weekend off.
07:01Nice.
07:02And they've been massive you've got with you.
07:04You've got a lot of fans.
07:05Well, it's just down the road, isn't it?
07:06It is.
07:07That's one of them.
07:08Yeah, it's been a great weekend, just to top it off with another trophy.
07:11If I've got the chance to win a race, I'll give it everything I've got.
07:14But, yeah, thanks to all the boys.
07:15Everything has been a mega weekend.
07:16And thanks to everyone that's come and watched.
07:18Go look, Kyle.
07:18Cheers, mate.
07:1919-point lead in the championship over this man, as he finally got his weekend up and running.
07:26Right, here we go.
07:27Brad Ray, second in the championship.
07:29Former leader of the championship early on this year.
07:31That's something like it.
07:32What I was saying is, you've lost that much practice.
07:36Actually, you're still setting your bike, aren't you?
07:38Yeah, we lost a lot of time.
07:40Probably, yeah, too much, really.
07:42But we're on our way up now.
07:43Last race was really good, really positive.
07:45Starting front row, which is nice for this next one.
07:48So, yeah, get stuck in and see if we can take a fight.
07:52I was just going to say, get stuck in.
07:53Good luck, Brad.
07:54Cheers, mate.
07:55Right, he's smiling.
07:56He's got a bike he can work with now.
07:58I think this is going to be an absolute belter because he's not going to want to go away from Donington without a win.
08:03Remember, he won three times and smoked everybody last time out here in April.
08:08Looking forward to this.
08:11Will it be fourth time?
08:12Lucky then for Brad Ray.
08:13This time, a few drops of rain in the air again here as well.
08:16So, anything could happen in this one.
08:19Kyle Wright will leave Donington Park as the championship leader.
08:23But by how much, we'll find out in race four.
08:25It's coming next.
08:28Three races down and one to go here at Donington Park.
08:34The final race of the weekend for Bennett's BSB.
08:38The final round before the showdown.
08:41It has seen Kyle Wright extending his lead at the top of the championship up to 19 points
08:46after some quite superlative performances, especially here today with two victories.
08:51Here are the championship standings.
08:52Kyle Wright, as you can see, ahead of Bradley Ray.
08:54Leon Haslam now tied on points with Rory Skinner for third place
08:58and Christian Hiddin, who was just off of the podium in race three earlier on this afternoon.
09:02Now into fifth place.
09:04Here's how the grid lines up then.
09:06Brad Ray starts his one on pole position with Kyle Wright and Scott Redding alongside.
09:10Then it's Rory Skinner.
09:11Leon Haslam and Christian Hiddin making up row two.
09:14Row three is Tommy Bridewell with Max Cook and Charlie Nesbitt.
09:17Then the fourth row of the grid has got Josh Brooks with Storm Stacey and Fraser Rodgers,
09:22who had a bit of a trip through the gravel last time out.
09:24Billy McConnell, John McPhee and Joe Talbot.
09:27The debutantes on row five with row six comprising of Luke Hedger, Glenn Irwin and Davey Todd.
09:33And the final rows of the grid comprised of Jamie Davis, Richard Kerr and Scott Swan
09:38with Peter Hickman starting 22nd.
09:40He didn't make the grid in race three earlier on this afternoon.
09:43Bit of housekeeping to do for you.
09:44No Andy Irwin for this one and no Danny Kent.
09:46That's a legacy of their crashes in race three earlier on here this afternoon.
09:50We send them the very best and wish them a speedy recovery.
09:54I hope we'll see them next time out at Aston when the showdown begins.
09:58Witton, there's a lot of atmosphere down on the grid.
10:02Seems like there's a lot of tension in the air here.
10:03Yes, there always is on a grid, but actually it's just bubbling up nicely
10:07with the guys on the front row.
10:09Scott Redding got a win already this weekend,
10:11but then it put over him by Kyle Ride in the last two races
10:16and then you've got a resurgence by Brad Ray
10:19and he needs to go away from here.
10:21Brad needs to go away from here with a kind of a clear head
10:24for the rest of the championship
10:25if he's going to take the fight back to Kyle Ride.
10:28Yeah, mathematically it is possible for him
10:30to get the lead of the championship back
10:31but he needs a bit of misfortune in Kyle Ride's corner
10:34here this afternoon for this fourth and final race.
10:36We look down at the Raceway's Yamaha pit box
10:38with Steve Rogers and Brains, crew chief of Brad Ray down there.
10:42Green flag is waved at the back.
10:4412 laps of action for the final time this weekend
10:46at Donington Park about to get underway.
10:49It is all eyes on the red lights as we wait for them now to come on
10:53and we wait for the revs to rise.
10:55Lights out and we're underway.
10:56Great launch from Brad Ray.
10:58Nice one as well from Kyle Ride.
10:59Not so good from Scott Redding off the front row.
11:01He's out dragged by Christian Innan
11:02as we come down towards the third corner and get swamped.
11:05Look though as well at Rory Skinner on the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati.
11:08Up through from the second row to third.
11:10Yeah, terrible start from Scott Redding.
11:12He was asleep there.
11:12He just didn't release the clutch and get it going quick enough.
11:15So down into the crater curves and into the old hairpin.
11:18We go.
11:18Brad Ray holds the lead of the race.
11:20He's going to go for the lunge on the inside.
11:22He loved that in race three earlier on this afternoon.
11:24He's up into third already.
11:26Did he run it a bit deep?
11:26He did get us back through.
11:28Yeah, that was the classic cutback at the old hairpin.
11:31Nicely done there from Christian Innan.
11:34So Scott Redding now with a bit of fighting back to do.
11:37Leon Haslam directly behind him
11:38and Tommy Bridewell as well,
11:39the lone Honda in this race.
11:41Yeah, Christian feels that if he doesn't get away with him
11:44or he gets away,
11:45he's not making his way forward with that bike.
11:48He just thinks that he's a lovely bike,
11:49but he just doesn't have the pace down the straight
11:51to have a pass in it.
11:53Yeah, seems to be the Achilles heel of that Kawasaki.
11:56Ricky Redding deep on the brakes.
11:57He's going to go to the runoff area.
11:58Got to do.
11:59Yeah, and he's just overcompensating
12:01for that poor start, isn't he?
12:02He's given himself now even more work to do.
12:04Yes, he has because he's got to not gain a place,
12:06which he didn't,
12:07but he's got to drop a second in that sector.
12:09He didn't go for a tighter line
12:10in towards the Melbourne loop.
12:12Which I'm not sure he's done.
12:13No, doesn't seem to have worked so far
12:16there for Chris Nidden,
12:17but he's got the inside line
12:19against Leon Haslam.
12:20Race direction will be looking at that
12:22off track by that run-on by Scott Redding.
12:25I think you're right, yeah.
12:26If he hasn't dropped a second,
12:27then they'll look at the times.
12:29Yeah, they will do.
12:29Glenn Irwin's a little bit wide on the curb there as well.
12:31That might leave him under pressure
12:32from Fraser Rogers down in 12th place.
12:35At the moment is Glenn Irwin.
12:36So we begin the second lap.
12:37Bradley Ray it is that leads.
12:38Carl Wright in second.
12:39Rory Skinner up to third.
12:41Scott Redding, though,
12:41with a dismal start to this fourth and final race,
12:44has left himself with a lot of work to do
12:46and a possible look at by race direction.
12:48Here comes Skinner,
12:49looking to the inside,
12:50into the old hairpin,
12:51but sweeping.
12:52Bit of a momentum there.
12:53Cost himself a lot of time there as well.
12:55Oh, look at that.
12:56And what has Carl Wright done?
12:57He's turned it into the race lead.
12:58Absolutely textbook from Carl Wright
13:01back into the front once more.
13:03And to do that there
13:03with such confidence on the front end.
13:06Yeah, loving it from Carl Wright this weekend.
13:08He's a big, big fan.
13:10Looks like Redding's just dropped behind.
13:13Max Cook as well.
13:14He's down into ninth place.
13:15So this is a cacophony of mistakes
13:17coming through from Scott Redding, seemingly.
13:18Yes, it is.
13:20Keeping him vulnerable here
13:21to attack from Storm Stacey
13:22and Charlie Nesbitt
13:24as they come down
13:24in towards the foggy S's.
13:27A few changes to Brad Ray's bike
13:28between race three and four.
13:30I was down talking to Brains,
13:31his crew chief prior to the start of this one,
13:33said they've changed the fork springs
13:34and changed a bit of preload as well.
13:36Yeah, that's the front end of the bike
13:38to get him just a little bit happier with it,
13:40a bit more feeling.
13:41But actually,
13:42this is what they should have been doing Friday
13:43had they not had the sort of engine problems
13:46where they had to just miss sessions.
13:47So they're still working on that bike
13:48because it will be better.
13:50Yeah, it's proven to be a particularly good end
13:53to the weekend so far for Bradley Ray.
13:55He's sort of just been creeping up there,
13:56you know, started off with a ninth place finish
13:59and then, you know, getting onto the podium.
14:00But a man who led the championship
14:01about 52 points
14:02has been a salvage job as what it's been.
14:05Well, better than where he started.
14:06Yes.
14:09So it's important.
14:10This is important for him.
14:11And Nisa on the front
14:12needs to push on,
14:12needs to go and race Kyle Ride
14:14because he's going to have to do
14:15if he's going to win a championship.
14:16Yeah, it needs to limit the damage
14:17that Kyle Ride has been done
14:18to his championship here this weekend.
14:20It was two points going into Saturday
14:22and into race one.
14:23It's now up to 19 points
14:25after three races.
14:26Yeah.
14:28Haslam's going well here.
14:29Leon Haslam in fourth.
14:30Yeah, he's having a good run.
14:31You were down chatting to him on the grid.
14:32Seemed quite optimistic.
14:34He always is.
14:34He's optimistic without being that bullish.
14:37Knows his way around here.
14:38One of the most experienced on the grid.
14:41Yeah, he's got a plethora of BSB races
14:43to his name.
14:43Of course, former champion as well.
14:46Knows how to pedal a BSB bike
14:47and let's see whether he can latch
14:48onto the back of Rory Skinner
14:50as we come down the back straight
14:52and head in towards the S-Mens once more.
14:54So nose-to-tail action
14:55between the top four.
14:57Of course, he's been sprint races
14:58shorter in duration.
14:59Eden was a little bit wide there.
15:01Yes, he was.
15:02Yeah, I think that might leave him vulnerable
15:03to attack from Tommy Bridewell
15:04down into the Melbourne loop.
15:06Bridewell moves over.
15:07He's got the inside line.
15:08What about Josh Brooks as well?
15:10We've hardly spoken about him this weekend.
15:12He's there ready to try
15:12and pick up the pieces
15:13inside the top ten.
15:14There he is on the Dow bike,
15:16number 25.
15:17Yeah, he's having a good run of things
15:18is Josh Brooks.
15:19One top ten finish so far this weekend.
15:21Just one podium finish
15:22is the highlight of his season
15:24so far on board that Dow Honda.
15:26Reading now,
15:27Meyer behind him as well.
15:28You can see the work
15:29that Scott Reading's got to do.
15:30It's all gone wrong for him
15:31here this afternoon
15:32after what has been
15:32one of the strongest
15:34since his return.
15:35Yeah, and a couple of mistakes
15:36has made the difference
15:37and that's not like him.
15:38We watched him doing
15:39six, seven, eight, nine laps
15:40in practice.
15:41Absolutely metronomic
15:43and perfectly on track.
15:45You know, within a couple of inches
15:46each lap
15:47of his perfect line.
15:49Well, let's see
15:49what happens then here
15:51for Scott Reading.
15:52Cork in the bottle
15:52looks to be Tommy Bridewell
15:53because there's a bit of a gap
15:54between Bridewell
15:55and Leon Haslam
15:57that's just up the road.
15:58About a second and a half or so
15:59separating those riders.
16:00So let's see whether
16:01anyone can get behind
16:02in front of Bridewell rather
16:04that they can make some moves
16:05and try and close that deficit
16:07down to Haslam in fourth.
16:10Over to the crest of the hill.
16:11Through Coppice we go.
16:12You have big double Apex
16:13at Coppice.
16:14You clip the Apex going in
16:16you run it a little bit
16:16wide mid-corner.
16:17You're on the gas then
16:18going from third to fourth
16:20and fifth gear
16:21as you exit the corner.
16:22Oh, Josh Brooks
16:23late on the brakes.
16:24Lovely.
16:25That was absolutely wonderful
16:26from the Australian.
16:27Moves ahead
16:27of Christian Hiddin
16:29up through to sixth place.
16:31Look at this
16:32on the inside.
16:33All changing the front.
16:33It has, yeah.
16:34It's all kicked off
16:35while we were looking
16:35at what was happening
16:36further behind.
16:36So now we've got
16:37Brad Ray who's leading
16:38and Rory Skinner
16:39through into second.
16:40Yep, a rare mistake
16:41from Kyle Ride that.
16:42Yep, must have made
16:43a bit of an error
16:44and the upshot is
16:45he's now down
16:45to third place.
16:46Let's look at what happened
16:47then for Kyle Ride.
16:48So we're coming
16:48through the foggy S's.
16:49He's lost the rear
16:50coming out of the foggy S's
16:51and that wasn't just
16:53a mistake.
16:53That was nearly
16:54a really painful crash
16:56for that.
16:56Yeah, good recovery
16:57nonetheless.
16:58Yes, he will.
16:58Stay on.
16:59And this is Rory Skinner
17:00up through
17:01and into second.
17:03Now, Brad Ray
17:04out in front,
17:04clear track in front of him.
17:06As I said,
17:06made a couple of changes
17:07to the bike
17:07between race three and four
17:08but what about Rory Skinner
17:10in the Cheshire Moulding's Ducati
17:11because he's looking like
17:12he's going to send one
17:12through on the inside
17:13of the old hairpin
17:14and he does.
17:15Nice one.
17:16On the inside
17:16and into the race lead
17:18for Rory Skinner.
17:19Oh, Kyle Ride's ready
17:20to pick Brad Ray's pocket
17:21as well.
17:22He loves that move.
17:23He's done it.
17:24He's done it a couple
17:24of times already
17:25this weekend
17:26and he makes it stick
17:27through back to second.
17:29If you can make
17:29that move stick,
17:30there is no way back.
17:31It will stick
17:32but it's unusual
17:33for it to be
17:34as clean as it is.
17:35All the while
17:36they're fighting as well.
17:36It's just drawing them
17:37back into the likes
17:38of Tommy Bridewell,
17:40Josh Brooks, etc.
17:40Not by too much
17:41at the moment
17:42but if they start
17:42squabbling a bit more
17:43it might bring
17:44a few more riders
17:45into contention here.
17:47Yeah,
17:47Cadwell went for a tear-off
17:48there with his left hand.
17:50Brad Ray.
17:51Third place for him
17:52then chasing
17:53the lead of his championship
17:55after he relinquished it
17:56at Cadwell Park
17:57a fortnight ago.
17:59Tell you what,
17:59Leon Haslam
17:59could cause a bit
18:00of an upset.
18:01Yeah,
18:01that's what I thought
18:01early on.
18:02On the Moto Rapido Ducati
18:04he's having a great run
18:05of things so far
18:06here this afternoon.
18:08Here's the pocket rocket
18:09and did all right here
18:11when we came to Donington
18:12earlier on in the year.
18:13Got a couple of top five finishes.
18:15Didn't trouble the podium
18:16too much
18:17but...
18:18Nothing.
18:19Leon,
18:20was he not on the podium?
18:21No, his fourth
18:21is his best finish
18:22earlier this year.
18:24We'd love to be able
18:25to try and get himself
18:25onto the podium.
18:26Here's Josh Brooks
18:27on the inside
18:28of Tommy Bridewell
18:29down to Redgate.
18:30Sits Bridewell up.
18:31Yep.
18:32So into
18:34fifth place then
18:35for Josh Brooks.
18:36He's having a great run
18:37on board that Dow Honda.
18:38Whatever they've changed
18:39in terms of the setup
18:40between the races
18:41is working quite nicely
18:42for the Aussie.
18:44And Tommy Bridewell then.
18:45I wondered if he might
18:46be the cork in the bottle.
18:47The question is now
18:48will we see Brooks
18:49streaking away
18:50and creating a gap
18:51to the Honda rider?
18:54And Penny
18:55for the thoughts as well
18:56of Scott Redding
18:56inside the crash helmet.
18:57I think he'd be pretty
18:58disappointed with how
18:58this race has panned out.
19:00Looked like the man
19:01to beat as we went
19:02into the races.
19:03Yeah, two ADN
19:04still stock Kawasaki's
19:05line of stern behind
19:05as well of Christian
19:06Hiddin and Max Cook.
19:07We're speaking to Max
19:08and said to him,
19:09what have you been
19:09changing for the race?
19:10He said, to be honest,
19:11we've done quite a lot
19:12between the race
19:13this afternoon and this one.
19:14He said, we've changed
19:15the engine braking,
19:15new throttle map
19:16and so on.
19:17He said, basically,
19:17when I'm going into the corner,
19:18it's just not stopping,
19:20it's running on.
19:21Yeah.
19:21I mean, most of the braking
19:23is done when you're
19:24in a straight line
19:25with the front brake.
19:26That makes the back
19:27of the bike light,
19:28that makes the rear
19:29tire lift up to the ground,
19:31but you do want
19:31some holdback
19:32from that back,
19:33especially when you let
19:33the front brake off
19:34a little bit
19:34and turn into the corner.
19:36So, out of the Melbourne
19:38loop we go.
19:38There is Scott Redding,
19:39the number four,
19:40the man who started this race
19:41on the outside
19:42of the front row
19:42and he's now challenging
19:44Tommy Bridewell
19:45for sixth position.
19:46Yeah, not where
19:47he wants to be.
19:47No, not at all.
19:48And it would be
19:50a bit of a disappointing end
19:51to what has been otherwise
19:51as we say,
19:52a very strong weekend
19:52but he's lining up
19:53a move here for Bridewell
19:54down into the first corner
19:55into Redgate,
19:56set that one up nicely,
19:57good exit out of the final turn,
19:59through on the inside
20:00and up into sixth position
20:03then for the Hager PBM
20:05Ducati rider.
20:06Yeah, Brooks
20:07does indeed put his fastest lap
20:08of the race in
20:09last time round.
20:10Now he's got clear
20:11of this battle.
20:11Yeah, the front end
20:13of the race
20:13it all seems pretty even
20:14Stephens in terms
20:15of the pace
20:15between Skinner,
20:16Ride and Race.
20:16Oh, hang on a minute,
20:17what's happened there?
20:18That's a BMW
20:19that's gone down.
20:21Is that Richard Kerr?
20:21That's Richard Kerr,
20:22yes it is.
20:23What on earth has happened there
20:23because the bike's
20:24on the inside
20:25right by the pit wall.
20:26He's outside it
20:26coming out of the last corner
20:27and it's gripped again
20:29and spun the bike
20:30onto the inside
20:30does happen occasionally.
20:31Yeah, well,
20:32it looks like a nasty one
20:33for Richard Kerr
20:33as he walks away.
20:35Yeah, he's up and okay,
20:36thankfully,
20:36but there'll be a yellow flag
20:37out at the very minimum
20:38there.
20:39Safety car has come out.
20:40I was wondering if it would
20:41because it's in a precarious
20:42position that.
20:43There has to be.
20:43Not only that,
20:44you've got to keep
20:44your marshals safe
20:45but they're going to look
20:46for debris
20:47and contaminant
20:48on the track.
20:50You would assume
20:50that something's leaked
20:52out the back
20:52because it went spinning
20:53across the track
20:54at speed.
20:55So far down
20:56the start-finish straight
20:57as well.
20:58So the race then
20:59is neutralised
21:00and all the while
21:00that's happened,
21:01Carl Ride's taking
21:02the lead back
21:02from...
21:04No.
21:05Has he not?
21:06No.
21:06I beg your pardon.
21:07I do beg your pardon.
21:08Let's have a look then
21:10at the pit wall here.
21:12So Skinner is still in front
21:13with Carl Ride in second,
21:15Brad Ray in third.
21:15Safety car then
21:16is out as the race
21:17is neutralised
21:18on lap seven
21:19out of 12.
21:19Yep.
21:20Marshall's be on the track
21:21looking for...
21:22Here we go.
21:23What happened to Kerr?
21:24Did it seize on him
21:25or something?
21:26No.
21:27That's what's happened.
21:28That started off
21:28as a high side.
21:29He put the gas
21:30on,
21:30the rear stepped out
21:31and then it gripped
21:32and then it gripped
21:33the other way
21:33and it's gone
21:33backwards and forwards,
21:35left to right,
21:35left to right
21:36and eventually
21:36flung him off.
21:37Bit of debris
21:37left on the track
21:38as well.
21:39There's bits of balm
21:40in it.
21:40Yeah.
21:41Nasty one.
21:42Got to get that cleared up.
21:43So yeah,
21:43Rory Skinner it is
21:44that leads.
21:44He now becomes
21:45the pace setter
21:45as the race is neutralised.
21:47He'll be hoping
21:47this isn't too long
21:48of a safety car
21:49because his lead
21:49will be eroded away
21:50if it is.
21:53Ryan in second,
21:54Ray in third.
21:55You would think
21:56once they catch
21:57the safety car
21:58that everybody's
21:59going to bunch up
21:59if indeed
22:00the safety car
22:01stays out long enough
22:02like you said
22:03to eat that gap up.
22:03Well, yeah, exactly.
22:04There's a big gap
22:05in the wall there
22:05and they've moved
22:06the bike out of the way
22:07pretty quickly.
22:08Yeah, they're all
22:09going to be
22:09telescoped back together.
22:11Yeah, exactly.
22:11What are we going
22:11to have left to run
22:12for four laps?
22:15So the safety car
22:15is coming in
22:16at the end of this lap
22:16so only a very short
22:17safety car period.
22:18They've had a check
22:19of the track.
22:19They've moved
22:19the debris out of the way
22:20and it does
22:21bunch the field up.
22:22This might present
22:22an opportunity
22:23for Scott Redding
22:24perhaps to maybe
22:25claw back some ground.
22:26Yeah, it does.
22:28Considering where he started
22:29but lights off
22:30then on the safety car.
22:31It comes in
22:31before the final corner
22:33of Goddard's
22:34and now the question
22:34is when does
22:35Rory Skinner
22:36decide to bolt?
22:37I don't know
22:38but remember
22:38that nobody can pass anybody.
22:40The safety car
22:40comes off now
22:41before the last corner
22:42but nobody can overtake
22:44until the start
22:45and finish line.
22:46So down
22:46into that final corner
22:47we go.
22:48Rory Skinner
22:49it is that will lead.
22:50Yeah, he's waiting
22:51until he gets on the gas.
22:53So four laps to go
22:54then at the end
22:55of this one
22:55it's going to be a sprint
22:56to the checkered flag
22:57with Skinner leading the way
22:58and Leon Haslam
22:59trying to pick the pocket already.
23:01Oh, for Bradley Ray
23:02up the inside
23:02into Redgate
23:03he's going to force
23:04his way through
23:05on the Moto Rapido Ducati
23:06and into third
23:07that might open the door
23:08here for Josh Brooks
23:09as well
23:10as Scott Redding
23:11had a bit of a wobble
23:12coming out of Redgate
23:13there too.
23:14Yeah, I think Brad Ray
23:14got caught napping
23:15there by Leon Haslam.
23:17And he's going to have
23:17to do all the work
23:18all over again
23:18he's sending it
23:19to the inside
23:19of the old hairpin.
23:20Can't stop it though.
23:21No, can't get it stopped
23:22and Leon Haslam
23:23holds firm
23:24in third place
23:25for now.
23:26Rory's got good pace here.
23:28Yeah, he's looking good.
23:29Yeah.
23:29He's looking good
23:30on the Cheshire Moulding
23:30Ducati.
23:31He's had a win
23:31so far this season
23:32if you remember
23:33back at Noghill.
23:34Yeah, his own circuit
23:35of course
23:36but very impressed
23:37that team have been
23:38with his adaptation
23:39to the Ducati.
23:40Yeah, and the team
23:41had to adapt as well
23:42because they've not
23:43run one before
23:43and they're a little bit
23:44different single side
23:45at Swingham
23:45different chassis
23:46take a little bit
23:48of getting the data to.
23:49Well, let's see
23:50whether the bunching
23:51of the field
23:52will present an opportunity
23:53for some of the other riders
23:54into the Fogarty S's
23:56we go
23:56and Skinner
23:57you can see
23:58he's pounced already
23:58and Ride is going with him
24:00he's trying to build daylight
24:01between themselves
24:01and Leon Haslam
24:02to leave the riders behind
24:03to squabble
24:04for the final podium places.
24:06Is Kyle Ride
24:07going to be happy enough
24:08to sit behind
24:09Rory
24:10and not take a risk
24:11if his championship
24:12rival's behind him.
24:13That's the question, isn't it?
24:14Yeah, yeah.
24:15What would you do
24:15in that situation?
24:17Probably crash train
24:18quite honest.
24:21Well, let's see
24:22how it all works out
24:23then we come
24:24to the end
24:25of lap nine
24:26three to go
24:27then at the end
24:27of this one
24:28and here comes
24:29Scott Redding
24:29on the inside
24:30of Bradley Ray
24:30he's made a great
24:31restart to this one
24:32has Scott Redding
24:33and now he's through
24:34on Ray
24:35so he's up in the fourth.
24:36You called it
24:36it just gave him
24:37that opportunity.
24:39He did well
24:39did Scott Redding
24:40making amends
24:41after a challenging
24:42start to his race.
24:43Don't think he's
24:44going to trouble
24:44the top two
24:45because they look
24:45like they're clearing
24:45off into a different
24:46postcode
24:47but if he can salvage
24:48a podium out of this
24:48one he'll be
24:49pretty pleased with that.
24:50Meanwhile Brad Ray
24:51is also of course
24:52going to want to be
24:53trying to do
24:53exactly the same as that
24:55with his championship
24:55rival in second.
24:56Yeah, but he's got
24:57Brad Ray's got trouble
24:58behind him
24:59in the form of
25:00resurgent Josh Brooks.
25:01Yeah, Brooks and Bridewell
25:02oh look at that
25:03centre the inside there
25:04for it and he just
25:05lunged it through
25:06on Tommy Bridewell
25:08or tried to
25:09I think he ran it a bit hot
25:09because Bridewell's back
25:10in front.
25:11Yeah, and that gave
25:11Max Cupp
25:12Hiddens' teammate
25:13a chance as well.
25:14Yeah, the two
25:15AJ and Stilstock
25:15Kyle Ozaki's
25:16line of stern.
25:17Let's see how their
25:18race unfolds.
25:20Skinner though
25:20really impressed
25:21with his restart.
25:22How late is
25:23Kyle Ride though
25:24on the brakes
25:24into the fog?
25:25Yeah, he missed it
25:25a little bit there
25:26just a foot wide
25:27and that'll cost him
25:28a bit of time
25:28coming out the corner.
25:31Yeah, looks okay
25:31though for the time
25:33being just keeping
25:33onto the coattails
25:35of this Ducati.
25:36I don't know what
25:36Kyle's going to have
25:37on his pit board
25:38but you would think
25:39they would have
25:40somewhere on there
25:41that will tell him
25:42Brad Ray's position.
25:44Yeah, position okay.
25:45Just hold firm for now.
25:47Don't need to take
25:47any unnecessary risks
25:48and chuck it at the scenery.
25:49Correct.
25:50Yeah, because that would
25:51be quite detrimental
25:52as we head in
25:52towards the showdown.
25:53Of course, more points
25:54on offer
25:54in the races
25:55in the showdown as well.
25:56He said Brad sixth.
25:57Yeah.
25:58Yeah, so Brad sixth
25:59over the timing line
26:00or fifth actually
26:01over the timing line
26:02there with Josh Brooks
26:03on the Dow Honda
26:04trying to achieve
26:06a top five finish.
26:07I think Brad looks
26:08to be struggling
26:08a little bit here.
26:09Yeah, he does seem
26:10to be, doesn't he?
26:10Just whether it's
26:11knocked out the rhythm
26:12with the pace car
26:13or whatever,
26:14but he...
26:15Yeah, they've been
26:15chasing their tail
26:16all weekend.
26:16I hope nothing's
26:17really said
26:18in terms of problems.
26:18Just early in this race
26:19that's the signature move
26:21from Kyle Ray.
26:22That was brilliant.
26:23Lovely stuff.
26:24Rory cuts to the inside.
26:25Yeah.
26:26Can't get it back.
26:27No, into McLean's.
26:28It's a bit of a dandare
26:28to try and send it through
26:30on the inside there.
26:30And thinks better of it.
26:32On to the grass
26:33as we come up
26:35the rise into Coppice.
26:36Right, so
26:37the man you're looking at,
26:38Rory's going to
26:38should have a little bit
26:40of an advantage
26:40down the straight
26:41if he can get out
26:42of Coppice's corner
26:42quick.
26:44Let's have a look.
26:45So we're at the old
26:45hairpin at this point
26:46here, aren't we?
26:47And this is where
26:48Ryan is just going to
26:48find half an opportunity.
26:50That move is made
26:52not at Starkey's Bridge.
26:53That's made at the
26:54old hairpin
26:55and the way he runs
26:56through it.
26:56Yeah, he's bolting
26:57for it now as well.
26:57I'll tell you what,
26:58there's a good battle
26:58going on for fourth
26:59in the championship
27:00as well.
27:00Haslam and Skinner
27:01tied on points
27:02for that currently.
27:03That's Brooks
27:03in front of Ray now.
27:04Yeah.
27:05I'm sure I saw
27:05that in the background.
27:06Yeah, Brad Ray
27:07continuing to drop
27:08back after what was
27:10quite a relatively
27:11strong start
27:12to the race.
27:12Yeah, he was.
27:12Do you understand that?
27:14Yeah, it's sort of
27:15how the tables have turned.
27:16It was a difficult
27:16start for Reading
27:17and it's a better end
27:18and the complete
27:19converse for Brad Ray.
27:20One lap to go,
27:21Kyle Ray's done it again
27:22and he's a hit his
27:23mark.
27:24We've seen a couple
27:24of mistakes from Kyle,
27:25just a couple
27:26of room wide.
27:27He doesn't need that
27:28and he should be
27:28just accurate now.
27:29Yeah, last time around
27:30127.5 for Kyle Ray.
27:32Relative to everybody else,
27:32I mean, he was about
27:33seven tenths quicker
27:34than Skinner who we saw
27:34was on the grass
27:35and about three or four
27:36tenths faster than
27:37Haslam and Reading
27:37behind.
27:38Look at him,
27:38he's bolting.
27:39He's trying to go,
27:40no doubt about it,
27:42into the old hairpin
27:43and let's see
27:44whether Skinner
27:44can find somewhere
27:46that he's got an
27:46advantage to latch
27:48onto the back
27:48of that Yamaha.
27:49What about Reading?
27:50He fancies a final
27:51place on the podium
27:51against his fellow
27:53Ducati rider
27:54Irv Leon Haslam.
27:56Haslam sits there
27:57in third place.
27:58There's Josh Brooks
27:58going on for
27:59the top five.
28:00This isn't
28:01not good for Brad Ray,
28:02this.
28:03No, it's not.
28:03It was out into the car
28:04part there who's so wide
28:05into McLean.
28:06Chickies, please.
28:07Just about gathered it
28:08all up.
28:08But yeah, Brad Ray,
28:09this is a disappointing
28:10end to what has been
28:11one of his most
28:12challenging weekends
28:13of the season
28:14so far.
28:16Down into the foggy,
28:16yes, it's for the final
28:17tie.
28:17No moves being made
28:18for there,
28:19but can they set
28:19something up
28:20on the exit
28:20and maybe lunge
28:22going down
28:22into the Melbourne
28:23loop?
28:23Without a mistake,
28:24Kyle Ride's got this.
28:25Yeah, I think Kyle has,
28:26but what about the final
28:26position on the podium?
28:28Here comes Scott
28:28Reading through
28:29on Leon Haslam.
28:30Does he get it stopped?
28:31He does.
28:32Just about.
28:33Sits up.
28:34Haslam.
28:35Beautiful block
28:35pass from Scott
28:37Reading as he comes
28:38through into the final
28:39corner.
28:40Kyle Ride surely
28:41has got this one
28:42in the bag.
28:42What a phenomenal
28:43day's worth of racing.
28:44He takes three wins
28:45on Sunday here
28:46at Donington Park.
28:47Ride wins
28:48on the Nitrous
28:48Competition's Yamaha
28:49ahead of Rory Skinner
28:50and Scott Reading
28:51mugs Leon Haslam
28:52for the final podium
28:54places in the final
28:56couple of corners
28:57of this race.
28:58What a weekend.
28:59What a race
29:00from Kyle Ride
29:01and for the team.
29:03They will be
29:04absolutely delighted
29:05with that one.
29:07Celebrations,
29:08of course,
29:08down at the
29:09Cheshire Mouldings
29:09Ducati team as well.
29:10Another podium
29:11for the team
29:12Rory Skinner.
29:13What a weekend
29:13for this kid.
29:14Yeah,
29:14Kyle Ride,
29:15I mean,
29:16that was a champion's
29:17ride right there.
29:18I mean,
29:18the number one
29:18on his bike,
29:19the reigning champion,
29:20of course,
29:21and in terms
29:22of defending his crown,
29:23we all thought
29:23it was going to go
29:24the way of Brad Ray
29:24in the first half
29:25of the season,
29:26such as the dominant
29:27performances that we saw.
29:28You know somebody
29:29who didn't?
29:30Who's that?
29:31Kyle Ride.
29:31Well, yeah.
29:32He didn't panic.
29:33I never saw one
29:34single panic
29:34from that fella
29:35all the time
29:36he was getting
29:37striped by
29:37his good mate.
29:39Brad Ray,
29:39honestly,
29:40I never saw him panic.
29:41Yep.
29:42Cool as a cucumber
29:43for Kyle Ride
29:44and Scott Redding
29:45as well.
29:46That was a fantastic
29:47salvage job
29:47of a race,
29:48really.
29:48Exactly,
29:49we're going to
29:49salvage job that,
29:50yep.
29:50Yeah,
29:51started off
29:51really difficultly
29:52and managed
29:54to get it all back.
29:56He's had a bit
29:56of motocross
29:57on the slowdown lap
29:58as well.
29:59just celebrating
30:01with the fans
30:01here at Donington Park.
30:03Seems happy enough.
30:04Hey,
30:04he's enjoyed himself.
30:06That's what matters.
30:07Let's have a look
30:07at that podium
30:08overtake then.
30:09So Redding
30:10sets it up
30:10on the inside
30:11of Leon Haslam
30:12and just kept
30:13it on the apex.
30:14Didn't allow
30:15Haslam
30:15to switch back
30:16through.
30:17And this is what
30:18it meant
30:18inside the Hager
30:19PBM Ducati box.
30:20Lovely move
30:23there for Scott
30:25Redding
30:25and delight
30:26for that team
30:27as they get
30:28onto the podium
30:28once again
30:29here this weekend.
30:31But Karl Ride
30:31will continue
30:32to increase
30:33his advantage
30:33into the championship.
30:3419 points
30:35it was going
30:37into this race.
30:37Sadly,
30:38I can't do
30:38the mathematics
30:38quick enough
30:39so we'll have
30:39to wait
30:39for the standings
30:40to come through.
30:42But yeah,
30:43Bradley Ray
30:43down in seventh place.
30:45I mean,
30:45they're going to be
30:45doing a big debrief
30:47and a big
30:48sort of deep dive
30:50into what went
30:51wrong this weekend,
30:52aren't they?
30:54Scott Redding
30:54celebrates there
30:55with Karl Ride
30:56on the back straight.
30:58Don't forget
30:59to vote now
30:59for your Bennett's
31:00rider of the round.
31:01Scan the QR code
31:02on the bottom
31:02right-hand corner
31:03of your screen.
31:05If you were
31:06to award
31:07that accolade,
31:07James Whittam,
31:08who would you go for?
31:09There's only one choice,
31:10isn't there?
31:10Yeah.
31:11Karl Ride.
31:12It is.
31:13Phenomenal.
31:13Phenomenal weekends
31:14worth of racing.
31:15The worst he's finished
31:16this weekend
31:16is second.
31:17That was yesterday
31:18in race one.
31:18He's done the treble
31:19here on Sunday.
31:21Just imperious performance
31:23from him.
31:24Two more years
31:25with that Nitrous
31:25competition's Yamaha team
31:27that was announced
31:27this weekend
31:28and he has done
31:30everything right
31:31to extend his lead.
31:3328 points now,
31:34I think.
31:35Something like that,
31:35yeah.
31:36I don't want to say so
31:37because I'll get it wrong
31:37and end up looking
31:38like a bit of a bird.
31:39It was a bit of a guess
31:39on my part.
31:41Hey, educated guesses
31:43of what we're made of
31:43in this commentary box.
31:45Ride makes his way
31:46then back into
31:47Park Fermi
31:48after a brilliant
31:50day's worth
31:51of racing here
31:52at Donington Park.
31:53The weather
31:53looked like it might
31:54play a bit of a factor
31:55in the sort of
31:56early parts of the
31:57afternoon
31:57and even actually
31:58prior to the start
31:59of this race.
31:59A few spots in there
32:00but thankfully
32:00it never materialized.
32:01just as I was walking
32:04off the grid
32:04there was a couple
32:05of spots here.
32:06Rory Skinner.
32:07Great ride that.
32:08Yeah, love that
32:09from Rory Skinner
32:09and that means
32:09he'll jump
32:10Neil Haslam
32:11for third
32:11in the championship
32:12as a result
32:13of this as well
32:13so really, really
32:15strong performance
32:16from him.
32:16That's three podiums
32:17in four races
32:18for Rory Skinner
32:19at Donington
32:19and as we said
32:21three wins
32:22out of four
32:22for Carl Wright
32:24on the
32:24Nitrous Competitions
32:26Yamaha
32:26as he celebrates
32:28down there
32:28with his team.
32:30Well, he needs
32:31to get down
32:31to Ikea
32:31build a bigger
32:32trophy cabinet
32:32after that one.
32:34Yeah, what a day
32:35he's had.
32:35And Scott Redding
32:36as well
32:37as we said
32:37challenging start
32:38to the race
32:38just seemed
32:39to go nowhere
32:39off the line
32:40and got swamped
32:41down towards
32:41the first corner
32:42the safety car
32:43was really
32:43his saving grace.
32:44Yes, it was.
32:45After that restart.
32:47Yeah, but he made
32:47the most of it.
32:48He did, yeah
32:49and opportunity
32:50certainly knocks
32:50for him
32:51and he answered
32:52the door.
32:54What a ride
32:54from Kyle then
32:55and we'll be hearing
32:57from him
32:57in a few moments
32:58time.
32:59It's been a busy
33:00old weekend
33:01this of racing.
33:02Tommy Ryanwell
33:02was on the green.
33:03He said he's knackered
33:04to be honest.
33:05Yeah, they don't fit lads
33:05but four intense
33:0712 lappers
33:07over a weekend
33:08especially three
33:09on a Sunday
33:10on one day.
33:11That's a big effort.
33:13Big physical effort.
33:14Yeah, we all need
33:15to find a big dark
33:16room to lie down
33:17in after this weekend.
33:17It's been so intense.
33:19Anyway, let's get
33:20confirmation then
33:21of the results
33:21from the fourth
33:22and final race
33:23of Bennett's BSB
33:24here at Donnington Park.
33:25Kyle Ride makes it
33:26three wins
33:27out of four races
33:28ahead of Rory Schooner
33:29and Scott Redding
33:31on the podium
33:31once more.
33:32Leon Haslam
33:32finishes fourth
33:33ahead of a resurgent
33:34Josh Brooks
33:35on the Dow Racing Honda.
33:37Max Cooks
33:38was sixth
33:38ahead of Bradley Ray,
33:40second in the championship,
33:41only P7
33:42across the line.
33:44Tommy Bridewell
33:45in eighth,
33:45Christian Iden
33:45was ninth
33:46and Charlie Nesbitt
33:47completed the top ten.
33:49Points down to 15th.
33:50Glenn Irwin
33:50again needs to make
33:51a bit of a forward step
33:52going into Aston
33:53in a couple of weeks' time.
33:54He was ahead
33:54of Storm Stacey,
33:56Fraser Rogers,
33:56John McPhee
33:57who's a little bit
33:58worse for wear
33:58after a crash here
33:59yesterday
34:00with Scott Swan
34:01completing the points
34:02finishes.
34:04And the championship
34:05standing,
34:0519 points
34:06was the advantage
34:07and James Whittam
34:08called it absolutely right.
34:0928 points car ride
34:11now has over Bradley Ray
34:12as we head
34:13into the showdown
34:15where more points
34:15are on offer
34:16just to remind you.
34:17Rory Skinner
34:17was level
34:18with Leon Haslam
34:19for third
34:19in the standings
34:20and he's now
34:21leapfrogged him
34:21courtesy of another
34:23podium finish
34:23here this afternoon
34:24as well.
34:28Further down the order
34:29of course points
34:30on offer
34:30for some other riders
34:31we hope that we'll see
34:32Andy Irwin
34:32and the likes
34:33of Danny Kent
34:35back out
34:35at Aston
34:36in a couple of weeks' time
34:37and hopefully
34:39we'll see some more
34:39forward progress
34:40from some other riders
34:41as they aim
34:41to end their season
34:43on a high.
34:43well that championship
34:53advantage now
34:54for Kyle Ride
34:55represents an
34:5680 point swing
34:57since we left
34:59Knock Hill
34:59remarkable form
35:01from the defending
35:02champion
35:02we'll hear from him
35:03Scott Redding
35:03and Rory Skinner
35:04when we come back
35:05from the break
35:06defending champion
35:13Kyle Ride
35:14heads into the
35:152025
35:16Bennett's British
35:17Superbike
35:18showdown rounds
35:19with a healthy
35:20advantage
35:21at the top
35:21of the standings
35:22after a brilliant
35:23weekend here
35:24at Donington Park
35:25we'll hear from him
35:26in just a second
35:27first up though
35:28let's hear
35:28from our third place
35:29finisher in that
35:30final race
35:30Scott Redding
35:31is with shaky
35:31yep thank you
35:32Matt
35:32the comeback kid
35:33is back in the
35:34podium place again
35:35Scott another podium
35:37this time it looked
35:38like the safety car
35:39worked for you
35:40a little bit
35:40last race
35:41maybe not so much
35:42but yeah
35:42you certainly
35:43turned things around
35:43in that one
35:44yeah I just
35:45it was progressively
35:46getting worse
35:47as the weekend
35:47was going on
35:48I don't really
35:49understand why
35:49I was struggling
35:50more and more
35:51with maybe more
35:52rubber on the track
35:52I'm not sure
35:53I just didn't get
35:55that start
35:55I got swallowed up
35:56but just no
35:57acceleration
35:57I couldn't set
35:58anything up to
35:59pass anyone
35:59until the tyres
36:00dropped a bit
36:01safety car
36:02come out
36:02and I thought
36:03I'm just going
36:04to let it eat
36:04like if I go down
36:05I go down
36:06if I burn the tyre
36:07I burn it
36:08and it tested me
36:08a couple of times
36:09I had a few
36:10big moments out there
36:11but I thought
36:12I got nothing to lose
36:12I can only go forward
36:14so I did that
36:16and then got on
36:17that nice little
36:18overtake onto Leon
36:19paid him back
36:19for Cadwell
36:20last lap
36:20so it was definitely
36:22in my mind
36:22but going into
36:23that Melbourne loop
36:24that last time
36:25I was looking
36:25for the handbrake
36:26and I still couldn't
36:27quite get it stopped
36:27but defended
36:28got a podium
36:29so I'm happy enough
36:30with that weekend
36:31all in all
36:31great weekend
36:32Scott
36:32well done
36:33thank you very much
36:34right second place
36:35then
36:36he's just about
36:36to squeeze in now
36:37squeezing past
36:38Scott Reddin
36:39Rory Skinner
36:40what a performance
36:40that was
36:41he led pretty much
36:42all of the race
36:42looked great out
36:43the front there
36:44just looked like
36:45he was really enjoying
36:45riding your bike
36:46first time all weekend
36:47I felt like
36:48I've just been able
36:48to ride it
36:49and not just think
36:50about my riding
36:50rather than controlling
36:51spin or anything
36:52like that
36:52so yeah
36:53hats off to the
36:54Cheshire Mullins
36:54Ducati guys

37:20appreciate it
37:20it was tough

37:22I think every time
37:23we've been out
37:23the track conditions
37:24have been completely
37:24different wind
37:25or track temperature
37:26so Rory rode really good
37:28there
37:28that's off to him
37:28it was only the last two laps
37:29where I had a bit more grip
37:30so I could pass him easily
37:31out the old air pin
37:32so he rode really well
37:34but yeah proud of myself today
37:35it was
37:36I've never had a triple before

38:15I'm sure
38:15back in the social club
38:17well deserved as well James
38:18he just
38:19he doesn't panic
38:20in races or
38:21over the course of
38:23you know
38:23multiple rounds
38:25you know
38:25even when he's on the back foot
38:26he just
38:26no he doesn't
38:27he's just
38:27he's able to take those results
38:29sort of see it for what it is
38:30see the bigger picture
38:31this is obviously the mistake
38:33you know
38:33comes out
38:34a bit too much throttle
38:35loses
38:36loses some time
38:37drops back
38:39and then works his way
38:40sort of back through
38:41really cool
38:42this is him just getting
38:43passed by Aruri
38:44as I say
38:45back to third
38:45and
38:46I've got to say
38:47I'm so impressed
38:48this move here
38:50which he could just do
38:51time and time again
38:52that's so difficult
38:53that's 150 miles an hour
38:55160 miles an hour
38:56and
38:57just does it
38:58superbly
38:59beats him there
39:00it's neat
39:00it's tidy
39:01and he just looked
39:03ruthless
39:04you know
39:04it was one of the first
39:05times I've kind of
39:05you know
39:06he just
39:06he just had so much
39:08attack in him
39:09and
39:09but also
39:10that presence of mind
39:11to take it
39:12you know
39:12when he can
39:13very very impressive
39:14his first ever treble
39:15yeah
39:15quite right
39:17for the third time
39:18today
39:18he steps up
39:19onto the top step

39:36here this weekend
39:37they're all down there
39:38celebrating

39:40a proper champions ride
39:41from the reigning champion
39:43Scott Redding
39:44well he said his weekend
39:46was getting progressively
39:46worse
39:47he'll be happy
39:47with a salvage job
39:48of P3
39:48after a challenging
39:49start to that
39:51fourth race
39:51second place
39:53for Rory Skinner
39:54happy enough
39:54with the balance
39:55of his bike
39:56finally seems to
39:57have found a bit
39:57more of a direction
39:58with that machine
39:59here this weekend
40:00and the podiums
40:01he's taken as a
40:02result of it
40:02are testament to that
40:03but what about
40:05this man here
40:05Kyle Ride
40:06he came here

40:46well he said he's going to remember this day forever days like this should be remembered
41:04James because in the career of a bike racing they don't come along very often no they don't
41:08so impressed with him the championship lead has gone up mainly because of the fact that the race
41:15where his team and Brad had a terrible weekend a lot of it not their fault let's be honest they had a
41:20couple of engines let go they don't build the engines in house the engines come from Yamaha
41:23there were small problems it cost him a lot of setup time couldn't really understand why Brad
41:28couldn't get fighting after the safety car there but what a weekend for Kyle like he just said
41:33looks at the bigger picture just doesn't panic and works it out and works it out for the next race
41:39thinks about his bike thinks about the wind he talks about the wind well the wind isn't that
41:44much difference but he allows for that such a thinker like I said I don't know how well he did
41:48at school I'm thinking not so well but uh his race craft is fantastic yeah be a bit head scratching
41:53going on I think this evening James in this raceway's Yamaha uh garage or in the cars and the trucks on the
41:59way home at least it's hard to put your finger on what the matter was there for Brad after the safety
42:04car it is you know because the first part of the weekend we know they had the problems we they've
42:09changed the chassis they've changed the engines and it then it looked like he was sort of getting
42:13somewhere obviously that the the third race but it was a just a little odd in that he obviously gets
42:19passed by Leon uh you know sort of here going into red gate this is immediately after the safety car and
42:26it just almost seems never gone going after the safety car sort of it just seemed to unsettle him a
42:31little bit unless he had a problem that we don't know about yeah exactly that exactly because that
42:36could have happened maybe he's had another problem and and it was against that but it's straight like
42:40it was into turn one I mean obviously Ducati famously have the legs on the Yamaha but we don't we don't see
42:45that but it's that often it's just also kind of worries you maybe you know he's just again this it's just a
42:50little bit odd isn't it he'd been so strong in the first part of that race and thought he'd be going
42:55forward after the safety car teasers up nicely for us and in the showdown though doesn't it yeah it
43:00does I mean the pressure's on him a little bit now you know 28 points not to be when you got over a race
43:05win you know it's always a big feeling isn't it yeah load of confidence going into it as Kyle okay
43:11well the points ramp up and so does the jeopardy that I said next time out when us Superbikes again
43:16returns with BSB on the 20th and 21st of awesome with Carl ride defending a 28 point lead over the
43:23number 28 we'll see you then
43:46so
43:55so
