00:00Vanderbilt now in back-to-back weeks has knocked off Virginia Tech and South Carolina.
00:05They've won the games by an average margin of victory over the past couple of weeks of 24 points per game.
00:11They walk into Williams-Brice, one of the most difficult places to play, as a three-and-a-half-point road dog.
00:18And they win it outright 31-7.
00:21Diego Pavia playing very well.
00:24This team now could be potentially a contender in the conference.
00:30I mean, I've become a believer.
00:32And I've got too much SEC background.
00:34My SEC background says, no, you can't recruit enough good players.
00:38You can only go so far.
00:40Vanderbilt's proven me wrong.
00:41I mean, South Carolina clearly should have better talent.
00:44But they dominated that football game in almost every statistical area they dominated the game.
00:50And you might say, well, we lost Lenora Sellers in the second quarter.
00:54But you know what?
00:55I'm not sure that would have changed to one.
00:57It would have changed the score maybe.
00:58But I'm not sure that would have changed who won the game.
01:01Because South Carolina is not playing very well on the offensive side of the ball.
01:06Lenora has not had a great year.
01:08And we'll see where he goes down the road.
01:10But Diego Pavia, the entire Vanderbilt team, the spread offense option that they have, they're going to win a lot of ballgames.
01:20Whether they can get up to, we've already talked about how thick the good players are at the top of the SEC.
01:26But they're going to knock off somebody that thinks they're going to win it.
01:29And you think about last year, Vanderbilt.
01:32They knock off Alabama.
01:34They go toe-to-toe with Texas, lose it by three, cover the spread in both of those games, go into Baton Rouge, lose it by seven, but cover the spread.
01:45From just the spread perspective, anytime Vanderbilt is catching points, Diego Pavia and this offense seem to perform.
01:53They're barking every time they're catching points.
01:57Yeah, you know what, it's like, don't tell me I can't do this.
02:00Don't tell me I can't do that.
02:02Because I'm going to go prove to you that I can't.
02:04Well, that's Vanderbilt.
02:05That's Diego Pavia.
02:07That's the kind of confidence that he has and that team has and how much they believe in their football coach.
02:12I love this story.
02:14I've always loved the Vanderbilt story.
02:15Stuck in the middle of an SEC, see a big-time football program, an academic school that finds a way to win.
02:23This one's pretty exciting.
02:25And they're going to, like I say, if they don't win the conference, they're going to knock off somebody that thought they were going to win the conference.
02:31Clark Lee has done a fantastic job recruiting and bringing in transfer of talent.
02:36He could be potentially a coach of the year candidate.
02:39We'll see how it plays out the rest of the way.
