00:00Masterchef is about to undergo a major renovation and there will be a massive shake up of its
00:06menu for the next couple of seasons. Following the sackings of both hosts John DeRoad and
00:12Greg Wallace, they've had to find new judges for both the civilian version and also spin
00:17off Masterchef the Professionals. I'm National Worlds TV and Tech Writer Matt
00:22Bonickson and here's all you need to know about the changes to Masterchef from 2026
00:28and onwards. The delayed 2025 season is currently airing on BBC One and it's about to reach finals
00:35week where the winner will be crowned. The reason for the delay normally airs earlier in the year
00:41but it started in August 2025 was because of the internal investigations into both John DeRoad and
00:47Greg Wallace. There were separate allegations against both of them. They were approved and
00:52in July both were let go. The BBC decided to air the season which was filmed last year before the
00:58allegations came to light because of they wanted to highlight the work of the amateur cooks who
01:04competed this year which you know makes sense. They did say it was not an easy decision and they would
01:09understand if people didn't want to watch but that's nearly coming to a close and the BBC have
01:15announced who will be the new judges on both Masterchef Civilian version in 2026 and also the next
01:21season of Masterchef the Professionals. So for the Masterchef the Professionals it's a smaller change
01:27than the normal Masterchef with Greg Wallace dropping out and he's replaced by Matt Tebbott who is from
01:35BBC's Saturday Kitchen. You might recognise him from that. He's joining Monica Galetti and Marcus Waring
01:41as part of the panel for that so they'll be that trio instead of yeah he's just stepping in for Greg
01:47Wallace. The bigger change is going to be on Masterchef's 2026 civilian version where both of the hosts have
01:55had to be replaced so Anne Hoff and Grace Dent will be the new dynamic duo. They should be familiar faces to
02:05people who've watched Masterchef over the years. Grace has been a you know she's a food writer and
02:11restaurant critic and podcaster. Anne Hoff is a chef. She has been on Masterchef the Professionals before.
02:19She was replaced Monica Galetti during the 2022 season. She then stepped back when Monica Galetti returned
02:29but she will also be on the finals week of this year's edition of Masterchef so you get a bit of a
02:35taste of what to expect before she becomes a full time judge in 2026. Obviously there'll be further
02:40details on the seasons closer to the time when they air but that'll be a little way off now but yeah
