00:00Good afternoon.
00:01Well, if you're a fan of the sunshine,
00:03I hope you're enjoying it out there today.
00:05But if it's rainfall you're after,
00:07then good news as there's some to come
00:09as we go through this week.
00:11Now, having a look at the bigger picture,
00:12this is the latest satellite.
00:13And you can see the swirl of cloud
00:15that's associated with an area of low pressure
00:18towards the northwest of the UK.
00:20But if we have a closer look at the UK at the moment,
00:23we're actually situated underneath an area of high pressure,
00:26bringing fine and settled weather throughout today.
00:29There is some high cloud around,
00:31but overall throughout much of this afternoon,
00:33it's gonna be blue skies out there.
00:36Now, the exception being across Shetland,
00:38we'll hold on to some low cloud here,
00:40perhaps even thick enough for some patchy drizzle.
00:42And then later across Northern Ireland,
00:44we have this band of rain, a cold front,
00:47bring some heavier spells of rain to end the day here.
00:50But otherwise we have southerly winds
00:52and that's drawing up some warmer air,
00:54but also with more in the way of sunshine,
00:56temperatures are gonna be rising nicely.
00:58It's gonna be feeling very warm out there.
01:01Temperatures up to 29 degrees
01:03across parts of Wales and the Midlands,
01:05but even across Scotland,
01:06coming up at around 25 degrees.
01:09So a much brighter picture here compared to recent days.
01:14So as we go through Monday evening then,
01:16it's an unsettled end to the day across Northern Ireland,
01:19but for the vast majority across England and Wales,
01:21it's a fine end to bank holiday Monday.
01:23But this rain will be arriving overnight
01:26across much of Scotland into Northern England,
01:29into Wales and the South West of England,
01:31where it could turn heavy at times.
01:34Otherwise staying dry for the longest across the far South East.
01:38And temperatures actually holding up overnight
01:40around 16 or 17 degrees.
01:43So more of an unsettled start to Tuesday morning
01:47with this cloud and rain moving its way eastwards.
01:50It generally starts fragmenting.
01:52You may see a few spots of rain across the South East,
01:55but once that clears through,
01:57actually still holding on to some fine and dry weather
01:59across much of East Anglia and the South East of England.
02:02Behind that, it is a case of sunny spells and scattered showers,
02:07most frequent across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
02:09And the odd heavy one cannot be ruled out,
02:11but a lot of places actually still staying largely dry.
02:15However, across the West,
02:17that's where temperatures will be falling closer to average.
02:19So 20, 21 degrees,
02:21but we still hold on to some warmth towards the South East.
02:24And in that sunshine, we could see highs up to 26 degrees.
02:29So as we go through Tuesday evening,
02:31then we hold on to those showers across Northern Ireland and Scotland,
02:35but across the far South and North East of England,
02:39generally fine and dry before another system
02:42starts approaching from the West into Wednesday.
