00:00I can't really say too much about extensive enterprises, but when it comes to extensive,
00:03Hayes sure knows how to blow a budget on an army builder.
00:05Here's a look at the G.I. Joe exquisite miniseries, Cobra Viper.
00:27Cobra Vipers are elite soldiers of the Cobra Forces.
00:30Rigorously trained and skilled in various forms of combat.
00:32As the backbone of the Cobra Forces, they undergo additional training,
00:36developing unique skills and military specialties.
00:38They undergo tests constantly, with their ranks regularly evaluated and restructured to ensure only the best remain.
00:44Their diverse abilities bring greater versatility to the Cobra.
00:47Cobra Vipers continue to play a pivotal role in the ongoing battle between good and evil.
00:52I feel this guy hasn't come to wash your windows.
00:54But what we will do, though, is not washing windows.
00:56We're going to take the tape measure.
00:57Yeah, and we're going to measure just how tall this figure actually stands.
01:00While I'm doing this, I'd like to thank the folks over at Hyatt Toys that did provide this sample.
01:03The Cobra Viper, one of my personal favorites, is going to stand at 4 inches in height,
01:07working out to be a figure that's 10 centimeters tall.
01:10Sad that we don't have a Dr. Mindbender or Sopentor to lead them.
01:12So we'll have to rely on season stand-ins.
01:15Here's what they look like with the former leader of Cobra.
01:17That'd be, of course, Cobra Commander.
01:18Cobra Commander's a great-looking figure.
01:20Still is probably one of my favorite figures we've gotten from Hyatt Toys.
01:22And here's also what he looks like with Sopentor.
01:24Sopentor still would have been around in that season.
01:26Let's bring in some other regulars here as well.
01:28We recently looked at Zartan, so we can bring him in.
01:31Why not?
01:32Here's also what they look like with Firefly and Major Blood.
01:35I think Major Blood still would have been around in that season.
01:37And, of course, if we're going to be looking at the Cobra Viper,
01:39always being given the excuse to bring in my original 25th anniversary version of the Viper,
01:45still one of my favorite figures.
01:46He has seen some upgrades, obviously, with the new release from Hyatt Toys.
01:50They've made him a little bigger.
01:51They've made him a little bulkier.
01:52But the look, though, of the Cobra Viper stays around the same.
01:55He even has the same goggles on the tops of his head.
01:58Aside from the goggles, they don't seem to serve a purpose.
02:00The Cobra Viper does come included two firearms, two swappable hands.
02:04And you probably can already see, he does come with a backpack that matches his costume.
02:08But before that, before I draw your attention to these,
02:10can I draw your attention over here to the display stand that comes in clear with a Viper?
02:14Yeah, this stand is pretty much the same stand that we've got with other exquisite mini G.I. Joes,
02:19or Cobra for that matter.
02:20The terrain in this case seems to be, well, let's flip it around and make sure it's identical,
02:24seems to be exactly the same.
02:26I'm convinced, though, that Hyatt is using about two or three different unique patterns,
02:30because the terrain of the mud does change, as well as the placement of the casings.
02:34But the one that we get here, as the example that I pulled, seems to be a carbon copy.
02:39Maybe not so much a carbon copy.
02:41I did notice that this was a little shinier.
02:43The Cobra Vipers is a little bit more, a little more matted of paint,
02:46but they plug in the exact same way.
02:48Wait, what?
02:48They plug in?
02:49They do.
02:51If you also look over here, the figure does come in clear with a couple of these little eye brackets.
02:55How these eye brackets work is if you look on the bottom of the stand,
02:58there's a slot here, a slot here, and then they rinse and repeat the same idea on this side,
03:03on this side, this side over here as well.
03:07So what you do is you get these eye brackets.
03:09They plug in, and you get two of them.
03:11I'm only going to use just really one of the example.
03:13Take yourself the second stand and plug them in place.
03:17I mean, really, you only need the one eye bracket.
03:19You could use two just to ensure that these aren't going to be going anywhere.
03:22But for me, at least, when it comes to displaying these Cobra Troopers on the shelf,
03:25I would likely go maybe Cobra Commander, Destro on the front,
03:29and then if I have more Troopers, they'll go along the back.
03:32I think we're also getting an Alley Viper.
03:34I can't wait to see that one in hand.
03:36So yeah, I like the idea that the more that you have,
03:38the bigger the terrain gets and the bigger diorama gets as well.
03:42Let's move those to the side.
03:44The figure does come included with a couple of guns.
03:46Now, here's my real issue when it comes to these.
03:48This isn't so much the fact that the Cobra Viper has these, or that he has two,
03:52but the ones that they chose to give him happen to have the same problem.
03:56I despise, as my personal opinion, I despise firearms that have closed off handles.
04:02And you'll notice that both of these have to have them.
04:05The problem becomes, when you want to have the figure displayed with it,
04:08it's super difficult, almost next to impossible, to get his grip around the handle.
04:14Well, first of all, with the hand not popping off,
04:17the hand just plugs on to the end of the peg like that.
04:19But even if you just want to, you know what, let's just take the hand off right now,
04:22because it's easier to show you.
04:24It's so difficult to get the handle in there when it's closed off like this.
04:28Because a lot of times you'll find that because of this being here,
04:32it doesn't really prevent, it really does prevent the hands from properly holding the guns.
04:37So like you can get the hand to hold it, but it doesn't hold it all that well.
04:41Companies need to really get away.
04:43And this isn't necessarily a fault on Haya's part.
04:46It's just the gun that they chose,
04:47but never really to include an accessory where a gun has to have a back,
04:51a back stock like this that covers completely.
04:54As you can see, like just the way that he holds it, he holds it awkwardly.
04:59Let's plug that onto the peg here and just kind of get things underway.
05:03And you could say to yourself, well, maybe you're picking the harder gun to hold.
05:07Actually, no, this gun is even harder to hold.
05:10Not only does it do the exact same thing, but it seems to do it smaller.
05:13So it's almost impossible, again, to get that thumb in there and get the gripping hand around it.
05:18At least I got one gun in his hand and I'm good for that right now.
05:21Now, he does technically come, not just with the guns that you're seeing right now,
05:24but a gun concealed on the side of his holster.
05:27On the other leg, he actually has also a sheath knife.
05:30Let's just take the hand right now, remove it from the gun.
05:33We'll put those off the side.
05:34By the way, though, just to put him down here for a second,
05:37he does also come and include a backpack.
05:39The backpack looks good, though.
05:40It's the same color of this blue.
05:42It's not near the, though, the black that we got with the 25th anniversary.
05:4625th anniversary also, unfortunately, phoned it in when it came to hollow bits,
05:49especially backpacks.
05:51You can see right there, there's a whole big hole in the middle.
05:54This one at least is finished all the way around.
05:56I can't really ensure and say 100% that this is a fully sealed bit of plastic.
06:00It could be hollow inside, but it certainly does have that feel like it's solid bit of plastic.
06:05Oh, there goes the backpack.
06:07As I was saying before, I flung the backpack across the room.
06:10Luckily, I was able to retrieve it.
06:12The backpack does actually have a peg, a little higher on this side,
06:15a little lower on this side here.
06:18So what you can do is you can take yourself your guns and you can plug them onto the pack.
06:23Now, I think one peg is a little bit bigger than the other,
06:26so you kind of have to match them up, like for like, hole for hole,
06:30and see which side works better for you.
06:33So plug it on one side, and then again, we'll get ourselves the other gun.
06:37Flip it around here.
06:38Because don't try to attach...
06:40I guess you could really attach it around the handle, but it works better with the hole.
06:43And again, you just plug it onto the back of the backpack.
06:46This one doesn't stay, though, as securely as the other.
06:49And then you can take your backpack, and then on the back of the Cobra Viper,
06:53there's a hole on his vest, and you just plug the backpack there.
06:57Yeah, this one gun never really stays properly.
07:00You can just get that on there.
07:02And you can have it displayed like that.
07:04Now, to be fair, though, I could have really also flipped this around the other way,
07:07but just more so to show you that there is storage on the back of the figure's body.
07:12Speaking of storage, though, as I did mention earlier,
07:14let's just take the backpack off his back.
07:17Located on the side of the figure's leg, there's also a holster,
07:19so you can unholster a little pistol.
07:22Pistol's done really well.
07:24I mean, for the fact it's small like this,
07:26even adding the attention to detail with a little bit of gunmetal gray,
07:29I do appreciate that.
07:30I suppose you could also clip that on the back of the backpack, too,
07:33but if he already has a holster, why not just put the gun there?
07:36On the other side, we just move his arm out of the way,
07:39there's also a knife.
07:40You can pull out the knife and decently well-painted blade.
07:44It's a hard plastic, too.
07:45I was kind of really expecting this to be a rubbery plastic.
07:48And again, we'll just kind of put the knife away
07:49before we fling that across the room.
07:51With that all now being said,
07:53let's get a closer look at the Cobra Viper.
07:54Now, the Cobra Viper, as normally Vipers would be,
07:57he does have the goggles on the top of his head.
07:59One thing I thought was kind of cool that Haia did
08:01was they actually have the goggles on a hinge.
08:04They're pegged on both sides,
08:05so not only does it look a little bit more modernized,
08:08but you can take the goggles and you can move them down.
08:11Still, I don't know what this is really effectively doing.
08:14I mean, with the visor being the way that it's designed,
08:16can the Viper not just see through the...
08:18I mean, you're only kind of just blocking off
08:20what's already blocked off in the first place.
08:22If he does have a screen, say, for example,
08:24on the inside of his visor that allows him to see,
08:26what exactly are the goggles doing on top of that?
08:29Now, the 25th anniversary kind of did that same thing, too,
08:32where you can take the goggles,
08:33but like these goggles were just separate pieces.
08:35They could come off.
08:37This one, I think I just forced on.
08:38Maybe I even glued these ones on.
08:40I think...
08:40Yeah, I think I did.
08:41I glued them on just to make sure that the goggles
08:42weren't going to fall off
08:43because they, again, fell off frequently.
08:46The details, though, between the two figures,
08:48you can kind of see, again,
08:49some more of a modern evolution between the two designs.
08:53He's a little leaner, though, on this design
08:54for the 25th anniversary.
08:56He's a little bulkier here for the Haia Toys release,
08:58but very similar styles of colors.
09:00I like the blue.
09:01I think there's a lot of cool details going on here.
09:03You've got the Cobra symbol there on the top,
09:04many different pockets there on the feature on the front,
09:07and pockets down below here as well.
09:09This will affect a little bit of mobility of the figure,
09:11and you can actually even feel
09:13that the pack or the vest
09:14is a separate piece over top of his torso.
09:17Sorry, this looks ridiculous.
09:18Let's just move these up a little bit.
09:19That looks a lot better.
09:21Yeah, the pack, the vest,
09:22I keep calling it pack,
09:23the vest is a separate piece
09:24that goes over top of his torso,
09:25and it does have a little bit
09:27of additional metallic blue to it.
09:29The metallic blue also finds its way
09:31down below here on the pockets
09:32and also down below here
09:34on the front of his guard for his shins.
09:36It's a really nice, well-painted figure.
09:39Normally, I would have just said,
09:40you know what,
09:40give me the classic look to the Cobra Viper,
09:43but I've got to say,
09:43the look to this Viper is modern enough,
09:46but it's not turning me away from it.
09:48I think it's got a really neat design,
09:50even though, again,
09:50the goggles make no sense to me.
09:52I'm only ever really going to be
09:53displaying them on the top of the helmet anyways.
09:55For me, I think they're more decorative
09:56than to have a practical purpose.
09:59The only one thing I will say, though,
10:01about the Cobra Viper is,
10:02with, again, like the pack being on his body,
10:04it does limit a lot of the mobility on the figure,
10:06but you can still move a lot down below here.
10:09You just can't do a whole lot
10:10up at the top of the torso.
10:11Firefly sort of had that also same issue
10:13because, again, like he had a vest
10:14that covered over top of his body,
10:16but that's a small thing
10:18for how good this figure actually ended up being.
10:20For the figure's articulation,
10:22Cobra Viper does have a ball joint in the head,
10:24so not only can you move it all the way around,
10:26would you also believe, though,
10:27that further down from the neck,
10:29there's a ball joint at the base of that
10:30that plugs into the rest of his figure's body,
10:32so it's sort of a two-fold here.
10:34The figure does technically have a ball joint here
10:36and a ball joint down below.
10:38The top of the torso, again,
10:39a little bit more limited,
10:40but he can still rotate
10:42at the base of his abdomen.
10:43The arms do rotate.
10:45I did notice, though,
10:46that the arms are really tight.
10:48Tight, in fact, as you can see,
10:50I probably even shouldn't be doing this right now,
10:53but they do rotate, in theory,
10:55but with mine, at least,
10:56they rotate very tightly.
10:58The arms do hinge out at comfortably,
11:00more at a comfortable 90-degree angle bend.
11:02There is also a bicep swivel,
11:04which, actually, I kind of like the way
11:05they've hidden the bicep swivel,
11:07so it just, I feel it kind of looks
11:09a little bit more like it's just one of his suits.
11:11I mean, when you look at it from the side,
11:12you can see clearly there's a cut,
11:14and there's the Cobra symbol on the top,
11:15but when you look at it from the front like this,
11:17it does kind of just look like
11:19there's a fold or a crease to his fabric.
11:21So there's a swivel in the bicep,
11:22there is a double hinge on the elbow,
11:24and the hands rotate all the way around.
11:27For his legs, the legs do split out.
11:30Now, you can also drop the legs down a little bit
11:32to get a further reach.
11:33I don't think the likelihood is there
11:35that we're ever going to be getting ourselves
11:36some Cobra vehicles.
11:37A Cobra ferret would be ideal,
11:39but I don't know if we're ever going to be getting
11:40any vehicles to go along with these Joes or Cobras.
11:43I hope, though, that's something
11:44that Hyatois will consider.
11:46Swivel, though, at the top of the thigh,
11:47double hinge on the knee.
11:49There's no articulation here.
11:50However, there is an ankle pivot up and down
11:52and an ankle rocker back and forth.
11:55I'm sure, as already mentioned,
11:56that their figure does come included
11:57with the display stand.
11:58It would be also safe to say, as well,
11:59the figure does also have peggles
12:00on the bottoms of his feet.
12:02Do I like the look of the Cobra Viper?
12:04Yeah, sure I do.
12:05I don't really...
12:06I still think it's ridiculous, though,
12:07that Cobra Viper has always had goggles
12:09on the tops of his head.
12:10Let's go and move his hands out of the way.
12:12Do we kind of even look at the hands?
12:13The hands are, by the way,
12:14trigger-firing finger hands.
12:15Not that it really makes things any bit easier
12:18when it comes to him holding the guns.
12:19Speaking of the guns,
12:20that's about the only thing
12:21I really don't like about the Cobra Viper.
12:23I like the pack.
12:24The pack matches, of course,
12:25the coloring of his body,
12:26so that's good.
12:27I just think that they could have
12:28probably chose better guns.
12:30These guns look okay
12:31until you get to the handles.
12:32The handles just are a problematic nightmare
12:35to get him to properly hold.
12:37I don't feel like there ever should be a time...
12:40I'm almost even feeling tempted
12:41to kind of cut this piece right here
12:43so he can actually have an accessible handle.
12:46It's bad on here.
12:47It's even worse on the smaller gun.
12:49Other than maybe just giving him
12:50different firearms for him to wield,
12:52the Cobra Viper looks exquisite.
12:54Oh, I see what I did right there.
12:55This is also one of the Cobra Vipers,
12:58one of the Cobra Troopers
12:58that Hyatt Toys is going to be releasing.
13:00They're planning also to do a Cobra Trooper,
13:02and I think they're also doing an Alley Viper.
13:04Of those ones, at least, though,
13:06my favorite has always really been
13:07the Cobra Viper.
13:08Still, though, to this day,
13:09while I've sold, unfortunately,
13:10all the rest of my 25th anniversary figures,
13:12there's still a select few
13:13that I've kept in my collection,
13:15like the Bat,
13:16like Cobra Commander,
13:17like the Cobra Viper.
13:18You can, again, see, like,
13:19the progressive transition,
13:21like the way that they've progressively
13:22modernized the look of the suit,
13:24but it's still recognizable enough.
13:26It's greatly different
13:27from the original design
13:28of the Cobra Viper,
13:29but there's enough still there
13:30to read a Cobra Viper.
13:32I love the look of him.
13:33I struggle anymore
13:34to try to get those guns
13:35into the Viper's hands.
13:36At least Hyatt does have storage space,
13:38technically,
13:38for all the accessories
13:39that come included with the Viper.
13:40So those guns,
13:41if you don't like them either,
13:42can plug onto the back
13:43of the figure's pack.
13:45What I've decided,
13:45at least instead,
13:46he needs to be shooting with Joe's
13:48with something, after all.
13:49He does have at least
13:50a gun holster on the side of his leg,
13:51so I've got him with that right now.
13:53You could also do the same thing
13:54with the knife they sheathed
13:55on the other side of his leg,
13:56so there's other weapons
13:57that he can wield
13:58other than those obnoxious guns.
14:00I think they look okay,
14:02but the moment you enclose
14:03a handle inside of itself,
14:06it's next to impossible
14:07to get a figure,
14:08especially with hands this small,
14:09to hold it properly.
14:11Speaking of things
14:12that don't work all that well,
14:13still I don't understand
14:14what is the practical purpose
14:15for the goggles
14:16on the top of the Viper's head.
14:17If you look at that
14:18sort of the same way
14:19as Cobra Commander,
14:20you would think that a visor,
14:21he can't look through it, right?
14:22So it's probably a view screen
14:24on the inside of the visor
14:25that not only provides night vision,
14:26maybe thermal heat censoring,
14:28it probably gives him
14:29a whole bunch of other things.
14:30If you put goggles
14:31over top of that,
14:33you're solving what was already
14:34a solvable enough problem
14:36with a solution
14:37that nobody asked for
14:38in the first place.
14:39I'm not going to fault
14:40Hayatoi at all
14:41for the fact that they include it.
14:42It's one of those notable traits
14:43that just baffles me,
14:45and yet it's one of the things
14:46I like the most
14:46about the Cobra Viper.
14:48The look of him is, again,
14:49an upgrade from what
14:50we're used to seeing,
14:51but it's an upgrade at least
14:52that I recognize on the character.
14:54This is the kind of Cobra Trooper
14:55that I really would like
14:56to get an army building going
14:57where I maybe would have
14:58a couple more
14:59that I can have displayed
15:00beside or even behind
15:02the dear Cobra Commander.
15:03That is, again,
15:04until Dr. Mindbender
15:06then creates a new leader
15:07for Cobra.
15:08I hope, though,
15:08that we're going to be getting
15:09an exquisite mini-series
15:10of both Dr. Mindbender
15:11and Serpentor.
15:13Speaking of other things
15:14that are on the horizon
15:15for Hayatois,
15:16I didn't mention earlier,
15:17though, the Alley Viper.
15:18I was actually thinking
15:19of the Range Viper.
15:20That's currently on a pre-order.
15:22Can't wait to get my hands,
15:23though, on the Range Viper, too.
15:25What do you guys think
15:25of the Cobra Viper?
15:26Let me know down below
15:27in the comments section.
15:27Do you also think
15:28like it just makes no sense?
15:30Why does the Cobra Viper
15:31have goggles
15:31when he never really needed
15:33that as a problem solver
15:34in the first place?
15:35Again, a big thank you
15:35to the folks over at Hayatois
15:36that did provide this sample
15:37of the brand new Cobra
15:38Exquisite Mini
15:39of the Cobra Viper.

15:48Even though we are

15:50right now for the Cobra Viper,
15:51there is actually
15:52one more Exquisite Mini
15:53that we've got lined up
15:54for the rest of this week.
15:55So I hope you guys
15:56are going to be coming back for that.
15:57If you need also a fix
15:58for Hayatois
15:59popping up at the very end
16:00of this video,
16:00not only will be
