Today's contestants are Wyn Robinson & Paul Swindel from Cheshire, June Tyler & Kev Tucker from the West Midlands, Jack & Sue Weir from Yorkshire, and Alan Jones & Kelly Wallace from Berkshire. Bruce Forsyth hosts as usual with assistant Rosemary Ford, but midway through this episode he reveals that it is his last series of The Generation Game. This was because Bruce asked for a pay rise and the BBC refused, so he walked. This however is not revealed here. He gets to hear a few honeymoon tales, including one unfortunate fellow who ended up getting tetanus jabs on his holiday, while among the somewhat rsique and a little dubious is one woman revealing how she injured herself as a teenager spying on a boy she fancied undressing while up a tree, another recalls how as a postman he was tackled by a dog by...well, you figure it out. Plus one where a heroic dad went to rescue his daughter from drowning, only to find he was on the end of a dubious prank. Among the games are "Export Packing" (exactly what it is and as prosaic as it sounds), "Previous Jobs" (guess the celeb's jobs before famous - not easy), "Trojan Polo" (intriguing game on a hobby horse) and ""Slip Up" (bizarrely called as it involves plate painting). The finale sees the final two teams take on a medley of Latin Dancing, along with Wilhelmia Forsyth and Richard Calkin (as Paxo). It really is too close to call in a fun finale, which sees it come to a nervy tiebreaker. Just who will go through to that conveyor belt of prizes? There's only one way to find out - no, not fight. Just sit back and watch...

00:00Life is the name of the game, and I want to play the game with you.
00:08Life can be terribly tame, if you don't play the game with two.
00:15And I want to play the game with you.
00:19Ho, ho, hey, ya!
00:22Hey, ya!
00:24Hey, ya!
00:25Hey, ya!
00:30Hey, ya!
00:33Thank you very much indeed. Thank you!
00:36Good evening!
00:38Good evening ladies, gentlemen and children.
00:40Welcome to the Generation Game.
00:42Nice to see you, to see you!
00:44Nice!
00:46And I must tell you this, because I think it's so lovely.
00:48There's a really charming old couple who live just down the road from me.
00:52He's 86 and she's 84, and they're going on a second honeymoon.
00:56Isn't that nice?
00:58He's having the first two weeks in December and she's going sometime in January.
01:02I think their names are Jim and Lil.
01:04Anyway...
01:10They've only been married a year.
01:12He was 85 and she was 83.
01:15They spent the honeymoon cutting the cake.
01:18Cutting the cake.
01:20Well, here's a nice piece.
01:21The gorgeous, the lovely, Miss Rosemary Forbes.
01:30Oh!
01:31Oh!
01:32Oh, yeah!
01:33Oh, yeah!
01:34Bravo!
01:36Bravo!
01:37Just a bit.
01:38Behind that delightful smile, do I detect a slightly worried look?
01:41Oh, well, you wouldn't believe the trouble I'm having trying to find a leading man.
01:44What sort of leading man are you looking for?
01:46Well, you know, one who could sing, well, a simple duet with me.
01:49Like what?
01:50Well, like this.
01:51You know, something like, um...
01:52Night and day you are the one.
01:54Only you beneath the moon and under the sun.
01:59Is that the kind of thing you're looking for?
02:01Well, that's exactly what I'm looking for.
02:02Oh, good, yeah.
02:03Yes.
02:04Anything else?
02:05Well, someone who could act a romantic scene with me.
02:08Oh!
02:09Uh, like this?
02:11Marjorie.
02:13My darling.
02:14I love you, Roger.
02:15That makes two of us.
02:20Goodbye, dearest.
02:22Farewell, my love.
02:25How was that?
02:26Well, it couldn't be better.
02:27But, you know, when it comes to dancing, I mean, they haven't got a clue about even the simplest of steps.
02:31Well, even like, even like one like this, I would just show you.
02:33Oh!
02:34Higher, higher!
02:35Higher, higher!
02:36Higher, higher!
02:37Higher, higher, higher!
02:38Sorry, sorry, wrong shirt, sorry.
02:39Well, it's...
02:40Even ones like this, like, go...
02:41Ba-ra-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.
02:51Ah.
02:52Ah, that's...
02:55that, I mean, that was brilliant.
02:58Well, it's a gift not given to many.
03:00Mmm. But, you know, all I want is a leading man who can sing.
03:04Just like me.
03:05Who can act.
03:06Just like me.
03:07Who can dance.
03:08Just like me.
03:09Who's young and handsome.
03:13Introduce the contestants.
03:15So, our first contestants are from Cheshire.
03:18I could sell the ice creams during the interval.
03:21Oh, wow.
03:24Right.
03:25Who are they?
03:26Right, they're from Cheshire.
03:27Don't start sobbing.
03:28They're from Cheshire.
03:29They're mother-in-law and son-in-law.
03:31Wynne Robinson and Paul Swindle.
03:43There you are, Wynne Robinson.
03:46Yes, and what do you do, dear?
03:47I'm a catering assistant at Hollins.
03:49At Hollins, I see.
03:50Are you musical at all?
03:51I am a little, yes.
03:52Oh, yes, what do you play?
03:53I can sing in the bath and play the trombone.
03:55That's right.
03:56Well, at the same time.
03:57Mind you, if you could play the trombone underwater, you could have a jacuzzi at the same time.
04:04Just a thought to myself, evidently.
04:06But you're married to Norman, you got engaged before he was posted to Kenya.
04:12That's right.
04:13Yes?
04:14He was there for 18 months and he was off for so sad.
04:17Oh, I know.
04:18A long time.
04:19A long time.
04:20A long time without.
04:21Yes.
04:23For goodness sake.
04:25Cheers.
04:26Go on.
04:27We wrote to each other every day.
04:28You did?
04:29Every single day.
04:30Oh, yes, fine.
04:31The longest letter was 48 pages.
04:3248 pages?
04:33Yes.
04:34I suppose the first two pages was the normal letter and there was probably about 10 pages
04:39of swark.
04:40Do you ever put swark?
04:41S-W-I-R-K-L, silk with a loving kiss.
04:43And what was the other one?
04:44Burma.
04:45Oh, Burma.
04:46Yes, B-U-R-M-A.
04:47What was that?
04:48Be upstairs.
04:49Ready, my angel.
04:50Well, was that?
04:53Anyway, there's something like that.
04:55Oh, lovely days to look back on.
04:57Now over to your son-in-law, Paul.
04:59Swindle.
05:00Swindle.
05:01Swindle.
05:02Swindle.
05:03Swindle.
05:04I suppose you're an estate agent.
05:05Right.
05:06Any pets at all?
05:10Yes, we have a dog called Sandy.
05:12Yeah.
05:13And a cat called Penny.
05:14Oh, really?
05:15Yes, lovely.
05:16Yes, yes.
05:17Penny knocks on the window at 3 o'clock in the morning on our bedroom window.
05:20Yeah?
05:21Yeah.
05:22And knocks to come in, so we have to get up and open the window.
05:23Yeah.
05:24Unfortunately, he opens outwards.
05:25So we've knocked her off onto the roof below.
05:27She hasn't got many lives left.
05:29I'm back to seven, I think.
05:30I'm back to seven.
05:31Right.
05:32Oh, by the way, you didn't tell us about your wedding and your honeymoon.
05:35Tell us about that.
05:36Ah, well, we had a few little disasters along the way.
05:38Yes.
05:39I limped up the aisle with my knee and big toe swollen to almost twice the size.
05:44Really?
05:45Yes.
05:46I contracted gout.
05:47Oh, no.
05:48And it can, when you get there, your big toe.
05:50Yes.
05:51Right.
05:52So what happened then?
05:53Well, we went off on honeymoon.
05:54Yes.
05:55You think about it on you.
05:56Anyway, go on.
05:57Well, we went on honeymoon.
05:58Yes.
05:59And I had to see the doctor.
06:00And it ended up when...
06:01And you still had your big toe on there anyways?
06:02Yes.
06:03Yeah.
06:04Shut up.
06:05Trying to get the picture.
06:06Yes, go on.
06:07And it ended up that my wife had to inject me in the bottom twice a day.
06:12With antibiotics.
06:13Yeah.
06:14Until we met a nurse.
06:15I think we've all got the seat.
06:16Oh, a nurse.
06:17Yes.
06:18Who said it was rather dangerous to do that.
06:19Oh.
06:20So she did it for the rest of the time we were there.
06:23So let me get this straight.
06:28You had a big toe on your honeymoon and then this nurse used to come in twice a day.
06:34Yes.
06:35Yes.
06:36I got the scene.
06:37I suppose then Jeremy Beazle walked in.
06:39What a terrible thing on your honeymoon.
06:42Anyway, we've heard a few...
06:43What have you got there?
06:44What were your...
06:45I'm a member of the Round Table movement.
06:46Oh.
06:47And this is a memento from Warrington Round Table to you.
06:49Well, how very kind of this.
06:50Very nice.
06:51The Warrington Round Table.
06:52Well, let me know when you get some chairs.
06:54And I'll come and have a drink with you.
06:59Is that a deal?
07:00It is a deal.
07:01And thank you very much for being here, Paul and Wood.
07:03Thank you very much.
07:04Thank you very much.
07:05Nice people.
07:06Aren't they nice?
07:07Thank you very much.
07:08Right.
07:09Who have we got there?
07:10Right.
07:11Our second team's from the West Midlands.
07:12Yes.
07:13Their mother-in-law and son-in-law, June Tyler and Kev Tucker.
07:16Right.
07:17And who are you?
07:18Good.
07:19Now, you are June...
07:20Tyler.
07:21I see.
07:22And you're married to Ruben Copper, who is a Tyler.
07:24No.
07:25I'm married to Ruben Tyler, who is a Tyler.
07:26No.
07:27I'm married to Ruben Tyler, who is a Tyler.
07:28Oh, sorry.
07:29Oh, sorry.
07:30Now, then, what's all this about falling out of a tree?
07:31Oh, yes.
07:32When I was 16, I fancied the boy next door.
07:33You fancied him?
07:34Yes, yes.
07:35I climbed up in a tree to try and catch a glimpse of him when he was getting undressed,
07:50and fell out and broke my wrist.
07:52Now, well, you haven't seen that boy for 33 years, but he's here tonight!
07:58I asked for the boy, not the tree!
08:11Why do I have to do everything myself here?
08:14Sorry about that, dear.
08:15Could have been a lovely moment.
08:16There you are.
08:17You went to a party, and after a few drinks, you did the splits.
08:21Oh, you did the splits?
08:22You got down okay, but something went.
08:25What happened, dear?
08:28What happened?
08:29The muscle in the top of my leg sort of went, and I couldn't get up.
08:33So I always had to be carried out to the car, in the splits position, off to the hospital,
08:38and I couldn't walk for a week!
08:40In a car?
08:42In the splits?
08:43I suppose I had to open the car windows to get you in.
08:46Well, I wouldn't like to have been driving behind you, did you?
08:49I wouldn't know which way to turn!
08:52For goodness sake!
08:54But have you any other special talents?
08:57Well, I can get my right leg round my neck while I sing an aria from The Marriage of Figaro.
09:02No.
09:03What are you laughing about, Rosie?
09:06It would be good for your one-man show, wouldn't it?
09:08Could you do that for us tonight?
09:10Could you follow this, or one of the cameras?
09:13Oh, my goodness!
09:14Oh!
09:15Oh!
09:16Oh!
09:17Oh!
09:18Oh!
09:19Oh!
09:20Oh!
09:21Oh!
09:22Oh!
09:23Oh my goodness!
09:24Oh!
09:25Alright.
09:26Thank you ro辛.
09:29You know, I can believe it when people told me about this, I didn't believe it!
09:36What a beautiful voice!
09:37Lovely!
09:38Oh, you've got something to follow, Kev, haven't you?
09:40What happened to your son-in-law, Kev?
09:42Tucker.
09:43Tucker, right. I know your brother, Tommy.
09:45And what do you do?
09:46A bricklayer.
09:47A bricklayer, yes.
09:48So what, you don't have to laugh at the jokes, you know?
09:51Tell us about your wedding, then.
09:53As we came into the reception room, we had to walk down a long staircase.
09:56Oh, yes, fine.
09:57And halfway down the staircase, Amanda sat on her bannister and slid to the bottom.
10:00She slid down?
10:01And everybody who applauded her.
10:03Really?
10:04Yeah, so it was something old, something new, and we all know what went black and blue.
10:08Anyway, has she got any irritating habits in it?
10:12There's one small one.
10:13She always cleans the bath when I'm still sitting in it.
10:17She cleans it while you're in the bath?
10:18Oh, so she must use flash.
10:21Oh, you do a great impression of Stan Lowell.
10:24Now, I've heard about this.
10:25Now, one of my favourites.
10:27Can we have the bowler hat?
10:28Do you want me to lead you into this?
10:30Uh, yes.
10:30Okay, fine.
10:31We'll get the bowler hat.
10:32Put the hat on.
10:32Put the hat on.
10:34Okay, Stan.
10:38Okay, Stan Lee, that's another fine mess you've gotten me into.
10:43Well, are you?
10:46That's right.
10:47Was that...?
10:48Why did you...
10:57Why did you even lean into that?
11:00Right, June, Kev, there's a game coming up.
11:03So enjoy yourself.
11:04Come on, relax and enjoy yourself.
11:10Now then, before our first game, I'd just like to remind you that our contestants have
11:15no idea what we have planned for them.
11:17They do not rehearse.
11:19This is your rehearsal.
11:21Okay, our first game is called Export Packing.
11:25Please welcome from Pickford's, Mr. John Horsefields.
11:35And thank Pickford's for yet another game.
11:38Thank you, Marvin.
11:39Now, what's the difference between Export Packing and Packing?
11:42Well, by the nature of the business, we'll need to protect items a lot more, because they're
11:46travelling a greater distance.
11:47Yes, antiques and that kind of thing.
11:48So that's the idea.
11:50So, stay where you are, because you'll see better where you are.
11:52We usually bring our couples over, but stay right there.
11:55So what you've got to do is pack up a commode.
11:57Yes, it makes you...
11:58Or, as we call it, a TV critic's chair.
12:01There you go.
12:02Right.
12:05Right.
12:05To start off, we'll secure the seat.
12:09Oh, you've got to secure that first, the seat.
12:11There we are.
12:12Roll the blanket out.
12:13Roll the blanket out.
12:14Lower the chair down.
12:15Yep.
12:16In the middle of the blanket.
12:17Uh-huh.
12:18One side over.
12:21The top.
12:22Keep the blanket taut.
12:29Good.
12:30That's good.
12:30And quickly, pull the bottom in.
12:35One side, one side.
12:37And then the bottom.
12:40That'll enable us to work at the top.
12:42Very good.
12:42Very good.
12:43What do they call this?
12:46That's a tape gun.
12:47A tape gun.
12:48It really is great.
12:49I've always loved one of those.
12:51She could say to his friends, stick them up.
13:00Oh, you've cut down the sides there.
13:01Lovely.
13:02See the front.
13:02Good, fine.
13:03Now...
13:04Pull one side in.
13:05And the other.
13:06Watching carefully.
13:07Oh, hold it over there.
13:08Good.
13:09Bring this over.
13:11There we are.
13:11We'll just catch this.
13:12That's a wonderful thing, that.
13:13And then just tidy up.
13:15Just tidy up.
13:16Strengthening it.
13:17The salt.
13:17In the right places.
13:19The last two over the top.
13:24Absolutely marvelous.
13:25It is.
13:26That could go anywhere, couldn't it?
13:28Hopefully, yes.
13:28That could go anywhere at all.
13:30Fine.
13:31John, will you come back and do some marking?
13:32I'd be pleased to.
13:33Thank you, John.
13:34Back you come.
13:35I hope you come here, if you will.
13:37Will and Paul decide you with Kev.
13:40That's it.
13:41Get to your places.
13:42All right, you've got about one and a half minutes to pack your commode,
13:46starting from now.
13:48Okay.
13:48Think of it all the way along.
13:52And get that tape gun working.
13:55That's it.
13:56Pull it out and then just dip it on so it's nice and secure.
14:03And then unwrap it.
14:08That's it.
14:09To the lathe.
14:14Oh, dear.
14:15I hope that one wasn't full.
14:17That's it.
14:18That could be nice.
14:20Yeah.
14:20That's it.
14:26You can do the splits, if you like, when you get over it.
14:30I'll put one.
14:31I hope you haven't got a set this far, darling.
14:41That's it.
14:42Good.
14:42Good.
14:43That's it.
14:46Fine.
14:47The scissors.
14:48Where are you, scissors?
14:48All right, bend it over there.
14:53All right, bend it over there.
14:57That's it.
14:59Try and get some tape on that.
15:00Hold it down.
15:02How are you doing, June?
15:03How long have you got five seconds left?
15:15So quick.
15:16Last minute bits.
15:17Last minute bits.
15:18Okay, time's up.
15:20Wherever you're up to, stop whatever you're doing.
15:22And, John, come back to do some marking, please.
15:29Paul here.
15:31Paul.
15:32What happens?
15:33Do you think?
15:34Yes, and the potty is secure.
15:39Yeah.
15:39Right.
15:40Okay, so what do you think?
15:41Not too bad an effort.
15:42Six points.
15:43Six points.
15:44Oh, well done.
15:45Well done, indeed.
15:48Well, she's stuck in it.
15:49I must say she was very quick.
15:51She was very quick, indeed.
15:52What do you think?
15:53Yeah.
15:54I think I actually noticed, if we open it up.
15:57Yes.
15:58I think I know what you're going to do.
15:59The, the, the, uh, yeah, the potty, yeah.
16:04She had no control over her potty.
16:07That's not too bad.
16:08I'd say five points.
16:09Five points.
16:10All right.
16:11Well done, my darling.
16:14Now, this looks a bit of a disaster area to me.
16:17But what do you, what do you think?
16:23And the potty's loose as well?
16:25Yeah, a little bit loose.
16:26Well, what do you think?
16:27Um, five points.
16:29Five points again.
16:30Five points again.
16:31Oh, this doesn't look good.
16:33This doesn't look bad at all.
16:35A little bit of tape.
16:36Yeah.
16:37A little bit more tape.
16:38A bit more time.
16:39And that's a good effort, Kev.
16:40Mm-hmm.
16:40Yeah?
16:41What do you think?
16:41Six points.
16:42Oh, six points a day.
16:44Well done and do.
16:45And our thanks to Kit Bridge for giving us yet another day.
16:48Thank you, John.
16:49What's on the board, Miss Ford?
17:03Well, Paul and Wynne have 11.
17:06June and Kev also have 11.
17:08Oh, dear.
17:10Good.
17:11How exciting.
17:12Kim is called previous jobs.
17:14Now, I'm going to give you the names of some celebrities, all right?
17:17The ladies have to write down what they think they did before they became famous, okay?
17:22And the gentleman, you have to hold up or put on an item associated with that celebrity's previous job.
17:30Now, for instance, to give you an idea, like Sean Connery.
17:32Sean Connery's previous jobs were, he was a milkman, he was a furniture removal man, a sailor, a coffin polisher, a lifeguard, an artist model, a bodybuilder, and a bouncer at the local paly.
17:43No wonder he never got on.
17:46Right.
17:47Now, ladies, to your lecterns and gentlemen, get to the back of your tables.
17:52You over there, my darling.
17:54Yeah, I'll get around the back.
17:56Now then, are you all ready?
17:57Get around the back there, Kev.
17:58Now then, the first celebrity is Julio Iglesias.
18:03Julio Iglesias.
18:05Your favourite, is he?
18:07Now, what did he do?
18:09Before.
18:13Right, he's got an answer.
18:17Well, Julio Iglesias was a footballer.
18:20So, what have you got over there?
18:21We've got a barman.
18:22A barman.
18:23And we have the wrong item.
18:25The wrong item.
18:26Well, we've got the right item over there, and we've also got footballer and goalkeeper, which is absolutely good.
18:34Well done.
18:35So, you get one each.
18:37The next one, Julia Roberts.
18:40And we hope you're playing this at home.
18:42Julia Roberts.
18:43What did she do before she became a film star?
18:48I haven't seen that one before all day.
18:51Where's that come from?
19:00Right.
19:01Now, the answer is, Julia Roberts sold ice cream.
19:04She was an ice cream lady.
19:07So, what have you got over there?
19:09Well, we've got cook.
19:10Yes.
19:11And we had the wrong item.
19:12Wrong item.
19:13We had the same wrong item.
19:16And waitress.
19:16Not far.
19:17A little bit out there, but not an ice cream waitress.
19:20So, there we are.
19:21Nothing with that one.
19:22And the next one is Sir John Mills.
19:26Now, Sir John Mills, what did he do before he became an actor?
19:31Sir John Mills.
19:32I hope you're arguing at home.
19:36Right, we've got an answer?
19:37Yes.
19:38We have an answer?
19:39Right, we have an answer.
19:39Well, Sir John Mills was a toilet paper salesman.
19:46Absolutely true.
19:47A toilet paper salesman.
19:48What have you got over there?
19:49We've got washroom attendant.
19:51And the wrong item.
19:53Yeah, wrong item as well.
19:54The wrong item there.
19:55And we've got Undertaker here.
19:58Wait till he knows about that.
19:59Right.
20:00And the last one is Jimmy Tarback.
20:05Jimmy Tarback.
20:06What did Jimmy do before he became a comedian?
20:10I think this is fairly well known.
20:13Now, then.
20:14You ready?
20:14You've got an answer there?
20:16OK.
20:16Now, actually, Jimmy Tarback was a lady's hairdresser.
20:21Believe it or not.
20:22And also, he did a bit of time as a milkman.
20:26So, what have you got over there?
20:28We've got bricklayer.
20:29Bricklayer.
20:30And the wrong item.
20:31The wrong item.
20:32We've got the right item there.
20:36And...
20:36Jimmy will be so thrilled about this.
20:40Winners put professional golfer.
20:44He will be delighted.
20:46So, a bit of fun, and we hope you did very well at home.
20:51And what's on the board, Miss Ford?
20:59Paul and Wynne have 14.
21:01June and Kev have 11.
21:03Oh, dear, oh, dear.
21:06There's so much of a means.
21:08So, you will be getting a Generation Game telephone with our love.
21:11And thank you for being with us on the Generation Game.
21:14And we'll be seeing you in our grand final, which is coming up pretty soon.
21:19So, thank you very much, all of you.
21:21Get along.
21:23Gavin.
21:26Gavin, who have we got left?
21:28Well, our third team's from Yorkshire.
21:31Their father-in-law and daughter-in-law, Jack and Sue Weir.
21:35Yorkshire!
21:35Hey!
21:38Come on, Yorkshire!
21:39Come on, Yorkshire!
21:40Come on, Yorkshire!
21:42Well, that is amazing, Sue.
21:44And Rosie is thrilled you're here, as always.
21:47You are Sue...
21:48Weir.
21:49Weir.
21:49I see good.
21:50And you're married to Des.
21:51Where did you meet him?
21:52In the supermarket.
21:54Oh, yes?
21:54Yes, he was on leave from the Royal Navy.
21:56Yeah.
21:56And I was stacking shelves, and he came in, and he was gorgeous.
21:59He was really tanned.
22:01Oh, yes.
22:02So, while you were stacking the shelves, he liked the way you were stacked.
22:06Yes.
22:06I see.
22:09Well, you did that.
22:10I didn't make it up there.
22:11Remember that.
22:12Right.
22:12Now, tell us about the wedding.
22:14Well, on the wedding day, Des got all his words wrong.
22:17Yes.
22:18And my knickers kept falling down.
22:19So, he got his words in a twist, and you got your knickers in a twist.
22:25Oh, dear.
22:26Anyway, is Des a good husband?
22:28Oh, he's brilliant.
22:29Oh, really?
22:29Yeah, he's got a really annoying habit, though.
22:31What's that?
22:32He loves cleaning.
22:34He vacuums and dusts every day, from top to bottom.
22:38Really?
22:39Yeah.
22:39He does it all?
22:40Yeah.
22:41The lot?
22:41Yeah.
22:41He's really maddening, though, but at least I don't have to do it.
22:45Yeah.
22:45Only one thing to say about your Mr. Weir.
22:47Make a note of it.
22:50Weirdo.
22:52Right.
22:53Over now to your father-year-old, Jack.
22:54Yeah.
22:54What do you do, Jack?
22:55I'm a part-time security officer.
22:57Oh, good.
22:58Lovely.
22:58And it says here you were 27 years in the post office.
23:01Yes, 27.
23:02That must have been a long queue.
23:03It was.
23:04Oh, sorry.
23:10You work for the post office.
23:12Yes, well, I put my time in there.
23:13Oh, you put your time in there.
23:14Sorry.
23:15I did it all wrong.
23:15Right.
23:16Now, what do you fear, Mr. Weir?
23:18I've got a really bad fear of not waking up.
23:21Really?
23:22Yeah.
23:22Which doesn't seem to bother this audience.
23:27I didn't think that would fit so well, actually.
23:30You must have a postman story with all the years.
23:33Oh, yes.
23:34All the years you've been in the postman.
23:35There must be something that happened to you.
23:36There's one that sticks out of my mind.
23:38Yes, right.
23:38It was about 16 years ago when I was delivering.
23:40I was walking up this path to put this letter into this house, you know.
23:43And the door opened, and the woman came out to accept it from me.
23:46And as she opened the door, the little duck came out.
23:49So I bent down, and it bit me around with private parts.
23:55Really?
23:55Yes, yes.
23:56My goodness.
23:57So what happened?
23:58Well, I went down to the hospital and saw the nurse, yeah.
24:00Yeah?
24:01She had a little laugh, like, you know.
24:06I was hoping that she was laughing at my injury, you know.
24:10Yeah, well, I mean, God love you.
24:11I've heard of postman Pat.
24:13I mean, you could have finished that postman Patricia.
24:17You could have finished to have a second-class male.
24:21That must have been awful, Janice.
24:23But thanks for telling us such an intimate story.
24:26Well, there you go.
24:28Nice people again.
24:29You're here.
24:30You're here.
24:31I'm here.
24:32You're here.
24:32You're here.
24:33You're here.
24:33You're here.
24:35Well, who's the last lot?
24:38Well, our fourth team's from Berkshire.
24:39Their father and daughter, Alan Jones and Kerry Wallace.
24:43Right.
24:51Welcome, welcome.
24:52You are Kerry Gold?
24:54No, what?
24:54Oh, what?
24:56I see.
24:57And you were a manageress of a bakery in Delhi.
25:00That's a long way to go to work.
25:01No, manageress of a bakery and...
25:03Oh, and Delhi.
25:04So it's a new typist again.
25:06Right.
25:06You've only been married for two years.
25:08Oh, is that all?
25:08Tell us about the honeymoon, then.
25:10Well, Cafe Pacific upgraded us to club class on the way out.
25:13Oh, how lovely.
25:14How lovely.
25:15So how did they know you were honeymoons?
25:18Your seats were in the upright position, I suppose.
25:21Where were you going?
25:25Where did you go?
25:25We went to Hong Kong for the first week.
25:27Oh, yeah.
25:28And went down the smelliest street in the whole world.
25:30Oh, in Hong Kong?
25:30Yes.
25:31In Hong Kong?
25:31Oh, yeah.
25:32That is a smelly...
25:32I know the street.
25:33I know the street.
25:35One long pong, Hong Kong.
25:38It's to take a deep breath and run down there as soon as you can.
25:41Anywhere else did you go?
25:42And then we went on to Bali for a couple of days.
25:44Oh, Bali.
25:45Oh, a lot of honeymooners go to Bali for their oats.
25:49Have you ever won anything?
25:51Yes.
25:51The meat raffle down the local pub.
25:53The meat raffle?
25:54What's the meat raffle?
25:55Well, every Sunday morning, the landlord used to go out and buy five or six joints.
25:59Oh, I see.
25:59And then he used to raffle it off when, you know, sort of two o'clock in the afternoon.
26:02And I won 14 weeks in a row.
26:0414 weeks in a row?
26:06Really?
26:06Yeah.
26:06And since then, you haven't won a sausage?
26:08No.
26:08What a show.
26:11What a show.
26:12Now, over to your dad, Alan.
26:14Jones.
26:14Jones.
26:15Remember the singer?
26:15There's a song in the air.
26:18So, what do you do, Mr. Jones?
26:19I'm a retired wholesale news agent.
26:21I see, fine.
26:21And you're married to Sheila.
26:23Where was the honeymoon, Mr. Jones?
26:24It was in Mallorca for two weeks.
26:26And the second week, it was all storms and rained all the time.
26:29Oh, yeah.
26:30And nine months later, our son, Darren, was born.
26:35Well, that's why they say it's hard to keep up with the Joneses.
26:37Right.
26:38Now, what's all this about being on holiday in Spain when Kerry was seven years old?
26:43Yes, we were on holiday in Spain, and we were on a pier, and she was attempting to swim
26:48back from the pier to the beach.
26:50Yeah.
26:51And she said, Dad, help, help.
26:53And I was dressed with all the clothes, all the money on me.
26:55So, I jumped straight over the side in, swam towards her, and she looked at me and said,
26:58It's all right, Dad, I'm only joking.
27:01You did that to your father?
27:03Oh, so what happened after that?
27:04Well, we spent all night on the balcony and put our Spanish money on the table.
27:08Oh, yeah.
27:08Waiting for it to dry.
27:09Embarrassing, you know.
27:11Having to hang your pesetas out on the balcony.
27:13Any special talents have you got, Alan?
27:18I can make rhymes up at short notice.
27:20Oh, really?
27:21But I hear you've made up a little verse, especially for being on the show.
27:24Well, let's hear it.
27:25Let's hear it.
27:25All right.
27:26The Generation Game is a must to see Brucie performing with gust.
27:31While the sexy Rosie Ford...
27:32Just a minute.
27:33It doesn't sound as though they're going to be a bit strong, is it?
27:36No, they'll be all right.
27:37Oh, yeah.
27:37You're not mentioning his Rosie's bust, are you?
27:40No.
27:40Oh, good.
27:42While the sexy Rosie Ford puts the score on the board, and the conveyor belt sometimes goes bust.
27:48That's not a good thing.
27:49Oh, you can hear it, though.
27:51Oh, yeah.
27:52Well, thank you very much, everybody.
27:54We've got a game coming up for you.
27:56There you go, man.
27:57Come on.
27:58Nice control.
27:59See you later.
28:00See you later.
28:01Called Trojan Polo.
28:03Please welcome from Epsom three coaches from the Magna Carta Polo Club.
28:09Look at their faces.
28:22Aren't you glad you came?
28:23Thank you very much.
28:53Bobby Webb, Chris Hyde, and Tim Healy.
28:57But I think it must be the hardest game in the world.
29:00It must be more difficult than golf.
29:02No, it's not more difficult than golf.
29:03Nothing's more difficult than golf.
29:04Really?
29:05On a horse it is, I'll tell you that.
29:08Now, Tim, will you come back and do some marking in a moment?
29:11I certainly will.
29:11While we get this all set up.
29:12And thank you once again, gentlemen.
29:14Absolutely wonderful demonstration.
29:16Get the ponies ready.
29:18There we are.
29:18That's all there is to it.
29:20Your faces.
29:21When you saw the ponies.
29:22I'll never forget it.
29:24OK, so you two come with me.
29:25And the other two follow on.
29:26OK, a little bit behind.
29:28Quite fine.
29:29Come over here.
29:30And just go off to the side.
29:31Make sure they can't hear or see what's going on, Rosie.
29:35And you come here, my darling.
29:36And Jack, you come here.
29:38First of all, mount up.
29:40OK?
29:40Mount up.
29:41Go on.
29:45You look a real one in that hat.
29:48I tell you that.
29:49That's it.
29:49Well done.
29:50Well done.
29:52OK.
29:53Don't worry about you.
29:54He's used to being hit.
29:56But can you go there?
29:57Can you manage?
29:58Can you manage?
30:00Go on.
30:02Well done, darling.
30:04Now, you're going to do two of the movements they do.
30:06So, first of all, both of you do the swinging.
30:09Keep swinging it like that.
30:11That's what we call the offside forehand.
30:13And the last ball, we want you to do the offside under neck.
30:17So, try the offside under neck.
30:18Under neck.
30:19Oh, brother.
30:20Under the neck.
30:21Under the neck.
30:22Go on there, Sue.
30:23Under the neck.
30:24That's lovely.
30:26OK.
30:26Could we get the ponies in position, please?
30:29And you're going to do this one at a time.
30:31Are you ready?
30:32Off you go.
30:33Canter.
30:33Come on.
30:34Yes, good.
30:35Yes.
30:36Very good.
30:41Start winding yourself up.
30:43That's it.
30:44Are you ready, steady?
30:45Canter.
30:47Come on.
30:48Yes.
30:49Oh.
30:50Yes.
30:51Very good indeed.
30:53And we're winding the other pony and the other tackle.
30:57You look fantastic, dear.
30:59Come here.
31:00All right.
31:00Now, then, Alan, first of all, mount up on your pony.
31:04See how your dad does.
31:06Right.
31:06That's it.
31:07Mount up on your pony.
31:08Up you go.
31:09Whey.
31:10Well done.
31:11Good.
31:12Yeah, then, Terry, my darling.
31:13Come on in.
31:14Up you go.
31:15Oh.
31:16Oh.
31:16Oh.
31:16Oh.
31:17You're all right, dear.
31:18Right.
31:19Okay.
31:19Will you get the pony's ready, gentlemen?
31:22Look, Alan, he can't wait for this.
31:23Right.
31:25Okay.
31:26Gallop away.
31:27Yes.
31:27Go on.
31:29Yes.
31:30You really did a good backhand there.
31:35Are we really coming?
31:36Okay.
31:37Start swinging, dear.
31:38Swing.
31:39Swing.
31:39Okay.
31:40Gallop away.
31:41Yes.
31:42Yes.
31:43Good.
31:44Yes.
31:45Oh.
31:46Excellent.
31:47Very well done indeed.
31:49Right.
31:50Get off your pony's and come back here.
31:53And if you're ready to bring me the other tackle.
31:59I mean, a very difficult thing to do.
32:06I thought you were all well done.
32:07I didn't think you could do as well as that.
32:09Now, will you come back, Tim, to do some marking?
32:16All righty.
32:17Thank you, Tim.
32:18And once again, thank you to the whole group of you for coming.
32:21Pleasure.
32:21It's been really lovely.
32:22Well, now, first of all, our first couple.
32:25So, Jack, you've hit three balls.
32:27Yes.
32:27I thought you had a great wrist action.
32:29He did, didn't he?
32:30A great wrist action.
32:31What can we get?
32:33Lovely flick he had with it.
32:35He had a flick.
32:35A lot of flick there.
32:36Yeah.
32:37And so you hit two balls.
32:39And a good technique.
32:41And it had very good timing.
32:43The points I gave, seven to Jack.
32:45Yeah.
32:45Okay, and six to two.
32:47Very good indeed.
32:48Very good.
32:50Very good enough.
32:51Now, what about over here?
32:53Okay.
32:54Okay, two to.
32:55Alan, you hit three balls.
32:57Absolutely phenomenal.
32:59Brilliant.
32:59I think, actually, you're a bit of a natural, actually, the way you can hit those like that.
33:03For Kerry, you hit three balls, too.
33:05You hit the under the neck three times under the neck, which is great.
33:08I gave, for Alan, seven, and for you, eight.
33:14Oh, really?
33:15Well, very high marks indeed.
33:19But people don't realise what a difficult game it is.
33:21It's been lovely to have you here in the studio.
33:23Thank you, Tim Healy.
33:25Okay.
33:28There we are.
33:28Now, then, what's on the ball, Miss Ford?
33:31Well, Jack and Sue have 13.
33:33Kerry and Alan have 15.
33:3515.
33:36All right.
33:37Only two in it.
33:38Come over there and sit yourselves down and put your aprons on.
33:42Right.
33:43Now, our fourth game is called Slip Up.
33:46Here's our very good friend from Gladstone Pottery Museum, Mr. Kevin Millward.
33:58Hello, my old friend.
34:00Welcome back a thousand times.
34:02How could we do a series without you?
34:04Wouldn't be the same, would it?
34:05And Gladstone Potteries, we thank you for allowing you to have another day off.
34:09Now, would you all come over and get nice and close so that you can see what Kevin is about to do?
34:15Oh, that's another way of getting round.
34:17Come over here.
34:19I'm going to have to tie you down.
34:21Okay.
34:21Can you all see nicely?
34:23Away you go, Kevin.
34:24Right.
34:24See what he's going to do.
34:25Just make sure the slip's flowing.
34:27Make sure you've got a little of this.
34:28I'm going to do a portrait in the centre of the plate.
34:32A little portrait, first of all.
34:35See if you can guess who it is.
34:36There you are.
34:46Wonder who that is supposed to be.
34:48Good.
34:49There we are.
34:50And then round the edge.
34:51Generation gang.
34:52There we are.
34:53G, E.
34:55N.
34:55E.
34:56E.
34:58R.
34:58That's it.
34:59A.
35:00T.
35:01I.
35:01O.
35:02N.
35:03Generation.
35:03And then at the bottom.
35:06G.
35:07A.
35:08A.
35:09M.
35:10E.
35:10E.
35:11Yeah!
35:13Lovely.
35:15Isn't that beautiful?
35:18Marvellous, marvellous.
35:19Thank you, Kevin.
35:20Will you come back and do some marketing?
35:21I certainly will.
35:21That's lovely, lovely.
35:22So get to your tables.
35:24You get to the far one there.
35:26You get here.
35:27In fact, you'll be this, won't you?
35:29Right, you've got about a minute to do a caricature of me
35:32and write Generation Game Around the Edge
35:35starting from now.
35:38That's it.
35:39Make sure it's flowing properly.
35:40Good.
35:41It does help to do that.
35:42Then you know it's working all right.
35:44A nice caricature.
35:47Not a portrait.
35:48A caricature.
35:49And try to be kind.
35:51That's it.
35:52Try to be kind.
35:54There we are.
35:55It's making noises, your one, isn't it?
35:58Or your stomach, is it?
36:00No.
36:01Both, I see.
36:02Let's see.
36:04Here.
36:06Yeah.
36:07Oh, God.
36:08Don't be crazy.
36:12Oh, dear.
36:15We're trying to find the...
36:17There's not a good one here.
36:22There's a couple of good portraits,
36:24but the lettering's gone to blazes.
36:26All right, time's up.
36:33Wherever you're up to, stop.
36:35And will you come back, Kevin, to do some marking, please?
36:38Come on.
36:38Here we are.
36:39Here we are.
36:39Here we are.
36:40Here we are.
36:41Here we are.
36:42Here we are.
36:44Now then, what did you think of number one?
36:46Here we are.
36:48Thanks.
36:48The lettering's a little bit on the small side.
36:52It is a bit small, yes.
36:53The portrait is not too bad.
36:55It's got a bit of a spotty face, haven't I?
36:58I think we'll go for a six on that one.
36:59A six on that.
37:00Not too bad.
37:01Not too bad.
37:01Very difficult thing to do.
37:03I think, and, well, look at this.
37:07I mean, what do you think of that?
37:09I mean, God, what a mess.
37:13And all this running into me, I mean, what do you think?
37:16I think the actual proportion's quite good.
37:18The lettering's quite good.
37:19I think we'll go for a six on that one as well.
37:21A six on.
37:21Very well done.
37:22Very well done.
37:24Now, over here.
37:26I think you overdid it with the nose a bit, lad.
37:30I mean, you did overdo it with the nose.
37:33Otherwise, I'm a chinless wonder.
37:35Right.
37:36This one's very good, actually.
37:38The lettering's exceptional.
37:40Just a little bit of running, but, you know, it's quite difficult with a slip trailer.
37:42Very difficult with it to get the thing going.
37:45Yeah, general proportions of that are excellent.
37:47I think we'll go for a seven on that one.
37:48A seven on that one.
37:49Well done, indeed.
37:50And round here.
37:53Well, I mean, it's a mess, isn't it?
37:56I mean, it is.
37:57It is a mess.
37:58But, actually, the lettering.
38:00The lettering is very good.
38:01The proportions.
38:02Not a bad portrait.
38:04Little bits...
38:04Well, it's moving now.
38:05Yeah, it is.
38:06It's moving like that.
38:07I think we can go for a seven on that one as well.
38:09Seven is a bad boy.
38:09Hey!
38:10Well done, you two.
38:12All right.
38:13Once more.
38:14And that's a gladstone portrait.
38:15And thank you for taking another day off.
38:17Kevin Millward.
38:19Yes.
38:28What's on the board, Miss Ford?
38:31Well, Jack and Sue have 25.
38:33Kerry and Alan have 29.
38:36Oh, 29.
38:37You're actually insane, didn't you, Gary?
38:40Oh, we're so close, isn't it?
38:42We really are.
38:43But you will be getting a Generation Game telephone, each of you, with our love.
38:47And thank you for being with us tonight.
38:49It's very lovely of you.
38:50Here we go.

39:11That's very nice of you.
39:13Lovely, lovely, lovely.
39:14Oh, and have we got a grand final for you.
39:19Now, as this is the last year that I'll be doing the Generation Game, don't overdo it, yes.
39:26And our South American dancers have been so popular.
39:30You know, we've organised a medley of the lambada, the merengue, and the mambo.
39:36But, of course, I couldn't do any of these without the help of my lovely wife, Wilnelia Merced-Forsail.
39:43Oh, my God, you looked absolutely lovely.
39:58And thank you very much for doing this medley for us.
40:01Oh, well.

40:18Darling, his name is Paco, and he's come back to South America.
40:22Oh, yeah, well, I hope he wasn't deported.
40:24Or, even better, imprisoned.
40:27Bruce, what is it you don't like about Paco?
40:29Well, I haven't got the list with me.
40:31In fact, you know, what I'm trying to say is I'd rather my wife dance with anybody but him.
40:38Is there anybody here who would like to dance with me?
40:41There you go, mate.
40:42Oh, no.

54:29Thank you, Rosie.
54:30First one to answer the question.
54:32But you've got to be right.
54:33If you're not right, then I put it to the other couple.
54:36So it's the first one.
