Everyone is in Tobin's mentions about Hour Tua, should it be suspended? More reactions around the NFL, Terron Armstead chimes in, "Dolphins clearly got their ass whooped today!!… But I’m not going to bash them after week one! I’m going to watch the film and give you a REAL and HONEST assessment of what happened!!?" The guys question why the Dolphins decided to pay Tua after his performance.
00:31I may have a hearing this week about suspending it.
00:34Here's what I would say.
00:34I'm all here for it.
00:36Here's what I would say.
00:40We can't give Tua more time than he's given us.
00:44True.
00:46True.
00:47We can't dedicate a whole hour to him when he's dedicated like 12 seconds of a football game to us.
00:55That was so bad yesterday.
00:57It was so bad.
00:57And I didn't love how he approached the game.
01:02And I get it.
01:03People are mad.
01:04I got more tweets about canceling our Tua than I think anything yesterday.
01:08I said, I don't want it.
01:09I don't want it ever.
01:12I don't want sad Tua.
01:13I don't want anything.
01:14I'm not going to lie.
01:15I'm all here.
01:15I was literally thinking watching the game.
01:17I was like, I'm not excited for our Tua.
01:19I don't want it.
01:19You didn't want to press the button?
01:20I didn't even want to press the button.
01:22He makes me so upset.
01:24So should we suspend it?
01:27I'm not.
01:28I mean, we could suspend it for conduct detrimental to the fans.
01:31We could.
01:32That's fair.
01:33I mean, we could lay this down like a commissioner.
01:35Um, because I don't want to upset people, especially, you know, going back to peppy hour
01:40to, and I can't believe the three minute open every single time.
01:42That's just inefficient.
01:43So I, uh, we might have to have a show hearing about this.
01:48I don't know.
01:49I don't know.
01:49I kind of agree.
01:50Yeah.
01:50Maybe he proves himself again.
01:52He's on probation.
01:53Maybe.
01:53Yeah.
01:54Maybe that's it.
01:55Maybe that's it.
01:56I don't know.
01:57I don't know.
01:58I'm not ready to, I'm not ready to have a ruling yet, but I think we need to, I think
02:02we need to have a hearing about it.
02:03I think that needs to happen.

02:13So your final score yesterday.
02:16Whew.
02:1733 to eight.
02:23I mean, almost gave up the most points scored in the NFL this weekend.
02:29Yeah.
02:29And the ones that, and the one that you didn't, at least it was a shootout.
02:32Right.
02:33You know, like Baltimore, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh, surprisingly Pittsburgh in the Jets.
02:39Wow.
02:40That was a good game.
02:41What a game.
02:41What a game.
02:42Your boy looked good.
02:44Yeah.
02:44Yeah.
02:45I didn't even, hey, I can't.
02:46He kept some petty in his pocket afterwards.
02:48Oh, yeah.
02:49I don't blame him.
02:50I don't blame him at all.
02:52No, no, no.
02:53Nothing wrong with having a little petty.
02:54Speaking of upset.
02:55But guess what?
03:00It's a long season.
03:01Hey, he's still over 40.
03:03That's the beauty of it.
03:04Right.
03:05Because guess what?
03:07The Browns have one of those guys, too.
03:10Old Flacco.
03:11And you know old Flacco going to give you.
03:12That one wasn't on him at the end, though.
03:13I felt bad for him.
03:15That wasn't on him.
03:16Because I looked at the box score first.
03:17I was like, oh, man.
03:18Flacco, Flacco.
03:19I was like, oh, that wasn't on him.
03:20It was like, well, can somebody tell me there is an epidemic in the NFL?
03:30And that is wide receivers that mysteriously can't catch.
03:35It's crazy.
03:36And it's not just this team, but it started on Thursday, and it has continued through this weekend.
03:45Now, I don't know what the problem is, but you used to watch football, and the one thing you could count on was your star receivers making great catches.
03:57For sure.
03:58But definitely catching the bunnies.
04:00Every now and then, you might see one.
04:03I've never seen more top guys drop balls than I've seen this week.
04:08It's crazy.
04:09Who doesn't drop balls?
04:11CJ Daniels.
04:12That guy on the Canes is good.
04:13Wow.
04:14He got hands, dude.
04:15Yep.
04:16Hands.
04:17Was it Malachi Tony?
04:19Yep.
04:20And who's that?
04:22Tyler Warren?
04:23Oh.
04:25For Colts?
04:26Yeah.
04:27Could have had him.
04:28Like, dude.
04:30And Loveland went before him.
04:32And I'm like, how?
04:34Pressure on him tonight.
04:35How?
04:36Here's some tweets.
04:38Shannon Sharp.
04:40Tua keeps playing like this.
04:41He'll get himself benched and his head coach fired.
04:45Oh, no, don't work.
04:47Dan Orlovsky.
04:48Who's usually, like, just very chipper about everything.
04:51Dan Orlovsky watches football and hands out all the time.
04:53Dan Orlovsky.
04:54The Dolphins tape is a mess.
04:56Both sides of the ball.
04:57Total mess.
04:59Teron Armstead.
05:02Dolphins clearly got their ass whooped today.
05:04But I'm not going to bash them after week one.
05:07I'm going to watch the film and give you a real and honest assessment of what happened.
05:12Well, let me tell you something, Teron Armstead.
05:13You don't have to.
05:14Let me tell you something.
05:14I already did.
05:15I'm going to hold you to that.
05:17Because I'm going to tune in.
05:19And I'm going to see.
05:19I'm going to be like David Beckham to Posh.
05:22Be honest, Teron.
05:24Be honest.
05:27But then the man who I...
05:30First of all, we broke Hootie's heart.
05:31Okay?
05:31He was upset.
05:32I saw that on Twitter.
05:35And the man I was most upset for was our favorite follow on Twitter.
05:40Larry Zonka.
05:43And Larry Zonka, he tweets out at the end of yesterday's game.
05:51Unprepared.
05:53Uninspired.
05:55Unacceptable.
05:56I would say this.
06:00That sometimes when we give adjectives to describe a football game, sometimes we use words that sound good.
06:13But my...
06:14I forgot something, though.
06:16What?
06:16Hashtag MIA versus IND.
06:19Oh, yeah.
06:19Hashtag Fins Up.
06:21Hashtag unfiltered.
06:24That's how you know Zonk's giving a take.
06:26But I would say this.
06:30It's easy to say the losing team was unprepared and the winning team was well prepared.
06:35Right?
06:37Would you say it was uninspired?
06:39Yeah.
06:39Yeah.
06:40It was uninspired.
06:41There was nobody that made a play that even required dap.
06:47Right?
06:47The only one that I would say was...
06:50I felt like it was a frustration play, like, was the A-chain touchdown.
06:54He was like, I'm getting in this end.
06:55Oh, yeah.
06:56I'm getting in this end.
06:56Yeah, but that's what I'm saying.
06:57A-chain, like...
07:00I think if you would have had more time with the football, you could have established the run and kept a lot of that heat off the tour.
07:08But the fact that you had the ball for two minutes in the first quarter and you were already down two scores, like, now the game is dictating what you do.
07:17Right.
07:17You don't dictate the game.
07:18And that gets a lot of teams in trouble, especially if you're not built that way.
07:22Yeah, these were the halftime numbers.
07:25Did they even have the ball for half a quarter?
07:29In the first half?
07:31Yeah.
07:31They had it for eight minutes.
07:33Right.
07:34So, half a minute is seven and a half.
07:35So, yeah, a half a quarter and a half.
07:40Like, when I see that, I'm thinking of a...
07:44Here's a series of things.
07:45Mm-hmm.
07:46This is how you can look at these numbers and tell what's going on without even watching the game.
07:51First thing I would check is the score.
07:54They were down.
07:55Yep.
07:56Okay, so I can eliminate the big plays.
07:58Sometimes you have a bunch of big plays.
08:00You don't have the ball long, but you're scoring a bunch of points.
08:04Okay.
08:04You eliminate that.
08:06Turnovers, because you've actually had series, but you turned the ball over.
08:12Check.
08:12Had turnovers.
08:13Mm-hmm.
08:14Right?
08:14And then you look at the other team and look at what their sustained drives were.
08:19And so, you're getting it from all ends.
08:22You had the turnovers.
08:23You had the long drives.
08:24You had just, you know, a combination of everything that makes you only have the ball seven and a half minutes.
08:30The Judon...
08:31Or eight minutes in the first half.
08:33The Judon penalty on the punter was like a...
08:35That, to me, was like the backbreaker.
08:37Because it's a new guy.
08:38I know, new guy and a veteran.
08:39But they did make the point.
08:40They're like, when's the last time he's been on special teams?
08:44It was a good...
08:45Like, he hadn't had the special teams agilies since 2017.
08:47Right.
08:48But that was...
08:49That, to me, I felt like, oh, the defense finally was...
08:51You know, they got a quick drive.
08:53You know, they weren't getting picked apart.
08:55Penalty.
08:56Right.
08:57Brutal.
08:58Is Alex still there?
08:59Brittany?
08:59Let's go to Alex.
09:00What's going on, Alex?
09:02Hey, good morning, guys.
09:03Thank you for taking my call.
09:04No problem.
09:06I just have a question and a thought.
09:11Usually in the NFL, these franchises, how long do they usually take to decide
09:17if the quarterback the guy or is he not the guy?
09:20Because with Tannehill, they waited seven years.
09:23Now with two, it's six years.
09:24It seems like the Dolphins wait more than other franchises.
09:28I'm just going to hang up and listen to you guys.
09:31All right.
09:32I'll tell you, like, it works in relationships.
09:37Your relationship is only as good as your options.
09:41Right?
09:42That's what people say.
09:44I think when you look at the skill set and look at what Tua does, okay,
09:53he does separate himself with his accuracy and his ability to throw the football.
09:58Now, let's just say, all right, that's – I'm saying this while knowing that he threw up a stinker.
10:06Yeah, at his best.
10:07Right.
10:09Which we haven't seen in a while.
10:11Right.
10:12And so from that standpoint, everybody wants to get rid of their guy
10:18but without having a solution for a different guy.
10:22And then you throw all these names out, oh, he would definitely be better.
10:26No, it's not.
10:27So as a franchise or organization, you're looking out there and going, okay,
10:33if we don't stay with the guy we have, what are our options?
10:38Right.
10:39I think the problem with Tua, and this is what happens, is like, look,
10:41you have to make the decision on paying the guy.
10:44Which, by the way, I was for paying Tua.
10:46Yeah.
10:46So I don't want to run from that.
10:48And I was – and by the way, I was very happy for Tua last year.
10:51I was at the press conference when he got his – he got his bag and his kids were there.
10:55It was a great moment for him.
10:57I felt good for him.
10:57There was a lot of defiance in his getting his contract last year
11:01because he kind of took the victory lap stepping on Brian Flores afterwards.
11:04But I got it because he had a lot of dirt kicked on him in his career, you know?
11:10But it hasn't gone great at all.
11:12It's gone nightmarishly bad since paying him.
11:14And the problem when you pay a quarterback, and this is why there's so much
11:17attention on it, is because they make so much money, now I got to buy a –
11:22now I got to pay a lineman coming off a torn Achilles to protect you.
11:26That's – and so here's the other thing.
11:31If you know what you have, right, like there are a lot of people
11:36who know exactly what Tua is.
11:40That means that, you know what, if you know he's fragile, you know he's been banged up
11:47a lot or whatever, then I need to invest and put some resources in to protecting him
11:53and having a game plan that will allow him to be effective.
11:58And when you look at the last couple years and what the offensive line has been
12:03the last couple years, I don't think your answer could be a dude coming off Achilles.
12:08It's crazy.
12:09And so from that standpoint, it's a lot of things that come into play.
12:16Like, okay, when was the last time we saw – I can't think of the last game
12:21where five starters played the whole game.
12:25You know how crazy that is?
12:27We talked about this on Game Day and Sensory yesterday.
12:29I don't know if you were listening.
12:30We were asking, what's the over-under?
12:34And my dumb ass said, what's the over-under of five games, of all five linemen playing?
12:39And I, like a dummy, I said, give it 14 games.
12:45I didn't get 14 minutes.
12:47You didn't get 14 plays.
12:49I didn't get 14 plays.
12:52I am a horse's ass.
12:53But so, if there's ever one thing that I would correct about how this thing was done,
13:04it would be if I have an offensive line to protect my quarterback,
13:13I can run the ball more, I can protect my quarterback more, and get the most out of him.
13:18So, there hasn't been a year where he hasn't run for his life.
13:24You see what I mean?
13:25And now –
13:26He didn't have time to run for his life yesterday.
13:29On the sacks.
13:30On the sacks.
13:31Like, Lua – let me tell you something about that.
13:33Lua Anarumo, he dials it up.
13:36And – oh, my goodness.
13:37He dials it up.
13:38Oh, my goodness.
13:40They – especially when it was blood and water.
13:43Oof.
13:44Turned it up.
13:45But, again, if you see what happened in Jacksonville and you see,
13:50ooh, they had problems with the –
13:52Yep.
13:53Then guess what?
13:55All the coaches in the league are looking at that,
13:57just like I told you about the robber in the middle of the field.
14:01It's either going to be a linebacker or a safety coming down.
14:04They're looking up that crossing route, and they're stepping in front of it.
14:08What the hell was that celebration that Cameron Bynum did yesterday?
14:10I don't know.
14:11What the hell was he doing?
14:12He looked like a –
14:13He looked like a spider.
14:13Like a spider.
14:14He was flopping like a fish.
14:15Somebody sent me the TikTok, but it didn't explain anything to me.
14:17No, it doesn't make any sense.
14:18I don't understand.
14:19I'm young, and I have no idea.
14:20It looked like the reverse worm.
14:21Yeah, I don't know.
14:23He was on all four.
14:24I know.
14:24I was like –
14:25The worm is the belly.
14:26I saw someone say if I hit through an interception and someone hit that cell on me,
14:31I would punch them in the face.
14:34Well, yeah.
14:34I was like, fair.
14:35If you would have punched him in the face,
14:37it would have been the most physical thing your team has done all day.
14:39Seriously.
14:39I mean, he'd get him suspended.
14:40It'd probably be nice.
14:41Oh, man.
14:42This is brutal.
14:44The whole problem –
14:45The problem with all of this is that at some point you have to be good or bad,
14:54be honest with what you have, and work accordingly,
14:59and do something to get the best out of what you have.
15:07And the only way you can get the best out of Tua and the best out of your run game is to,
15:13you know, not only be more physical but just be better.
15:17And, like, we haven't even made it through a half of football,
15:21and you're already on backup linemen.
15:25And let me tell you, if you had questions about the starters,
15:31let me introduce you to backup linemen.
15:33What's his name?
15:34Doesn't matter.
15:35Any one of them.
15:36Just put on the back of his jersey, backup linemen.
