00:00Yeah, listen, last week, the big debate on Sports Talk Radio in New York was,
00:04should we boo Aaron Rodgers?
00:06And I said, yes, of course you boo Aaron Rodgers.
00:09Aaron Rodgers let us down.
00:10Year one, he gets excused because of the injury.
00:13Year two, he was a disaster.
00:14And I told you on the show last week, I knew exactly what was going to happen.
00:18I knew that Aaron Rodgers was going to be great.
00:21Four touchdown passes, 34 points, and they steal a W from my New York Jets,
00:27who had this game locked and loaded.
00:30And somehow, some way, you know, jetted themselves, which is what they do,
00:33the same old statement from the Jets.
00:35Yeah, great to see the Jets score 32 points.
00:38I thought Justin Fields was fantastic.
00:40Played well.
00:40In his debut as Jet quarterback.
00:43But a couple things.
00:44One, from the Jet perspective.
00:46I've been telling people this for a couple years now, and nobody wants to listen.
00:50The Jets have an overrated defense.
00:52I know Williams, both Williams brothers, were great yesterday.
00:57I know Sauce Gardner didn't give up a single reception yesterday.
01:01But the New York Jets defense still found a way to lose the game.
01:05Still gave up 34 points.
01:07And when I heard Aaron Rodgers, I'm going to play this for you in a second,
01:11after the game, talking about how great it was to beat the New York Jets,
01:15it goes back to why I have my finger on the pulse of the people,
01:20more so than anybody else that's ever done sports talk radio in New York City.
01:25Because I knew the right move was to boo Aaron Rodgers.
01:29Yeah.
01:30Because screw Aaron Rodgers.
01:31All right?
01:32Here's what Aaron Rodgers had to say after the game and his four touchdown passes
01:37and his come from behind, something he did not do once for the New York Jets.
01:43Had five chances in the fourth quarter last year with the ball,
01:46down by a touchdown or less, and came up goose eggs all five times.
01:52This is what Aaron Rodgers had to say after the game
01:55about how great it was to beat the Jets.
01:57Listen to this.
01:58I was happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets.
02:03Happy to beat everybody affiliated with the New York Jets.
02:08That includes me.
02:10That includes the 40 or so thousand Jet fans.
02:14There were a lot of Steelers fans at that game yesterday.
02:17It means us, collectively.
02:19Everybody.
02:19Which is why I wanted to boo Aaron Rodgers, because screw him.
02:23Now, when it comes to the game yesterday, I'm trying to figure out two things.
02:28Watching that game yesterday afternoon, do I think the Steelers are for real?
02:34Easy answer.
02:35No.
02:36They're not.
02:37You let Justin Fields and the New York Jets run for 200 yards against you
02:42and score 32 points.
02:44You cannot be thought of as a team that is for real if you allow the New York Jets
02:50to run for 200 yards with Justin Fields, the quarterback, and drop a 32-burger right on your lap.
02:56Yeah, absolutely not.
02:57They're not a real squad.
02:59They're not a real squad.
03:00And it was a cute little—if you had no rooting interest, like me,
03:04I know you're on a different world here.
03:05I'm a Jet fan.
03:06I wanted the Jets to win.
03:07Right.
03:07It was a fun game to watch, but that's all it was.
03:10There was nothing more to it.
03:11Until the last seconds, it was a great game.
03:13That's what I'm saying, it was a fun, enjoyable football game,
03:15but I didn't come away thinking, watch out for the Steelers.
03:17No, but the New York Jets do not have a good offense.
03:21I know Brees Hall looked great, and he did.
03:22He looked like a burst.
03:23He had that spurt back when he was a rookie, so the knee's all good.
03:26Bray on out, not as good, but fine.
03:28Okay, great.
03:29The Jets ran the ball great.
03:30I give the Jets credit.
03:31We ran the ball great.
03:33But when the game was in the mix, and you have a chance to win your home opener
03:38and start the season off 1-0 and wake up today in first place,
03:43because that was possible, and they still found a Jet way to lose the game.
03:48The Gibson fumble, obviously, leads to a touchdown right away for Pittsburgh.
03:52That was the turning point in the game.
03:55So the New York Jets in the first half yesterday did not punt a single time.
04:00It's never happened in the franchise's history.
04:03So I know all the Steeler fans are gloating right now and enjoying the moment,
04:07and I get it.
04:08You know, the Bengals had a victory.
04:10The Ravens lost, so you're there in first place, 1-0, obviously.
04:13Only one game in.
04:14You know, tied with the Bengals.
04:16But you know when you went to bed last night that you did not go to bed thinking,
04:20I've got a powerhouse.
04:22You did not go to bed thinking the Steelers are going to dominate the division.
04:26You did not go to bed thinking the Steelers are a lock to make the playoffs.
04:30Because the Steelers' defense, and you are a defensive first team,
04:35you are not a team that's built around, let's go score 30 points every week,
04:39because you don't have the offense to do it.
04:41You allowed the New York Jets to score on every single possession in the first half
04:50and drop a 32-burger on your plate.
04:53Congrats on the win.
