00:00There's another NFL game, though, that that war or two to be to be exact, that warrant some conversation back and forth with me and Tyrone, because I don't know where you stand on.
00:09So it'll be a healthy debate or we'll just be in total agreement with each other.
00:13So Baltimore, Pittsburgh, huge game.
00:15Winner of the game gets first place in the division, meaning in the playoff spot.
00:20The losers on the outside looking in has some work to do to get in.
00:23They're only going to get one team into the playoffs.
00:25Most likely Pittsburgh gets the win.
00:27But how did Pittsburgh win?
00:29Now, to be totally fair about it, Pittsburgh played probably their best game in a month.
00:34I give them credit for that.
00:35They did.
00:35Their defense came to play.
00:36Aaron Rodgers was very good.
00:38Warren was very good.
00:39So I give Pittsburgh credit that they did play well enough to win.
00:42But Baltimore has the ball.
00:44Baltimore's trailing by five.
00:46And they come down the field late fourth quarter, about four or so minutes to go.
00:51And Lamar Jackson finds Isaiah Likely in the end zone.
00:56Boom, hits him with it.
00:57Isaiah Likely has a cornerback on him.
00:59But he holds the ball out, like arms stretched out from his body.
01:03One foot down, good.
01:05Second foot down, good.
01:07Almost a third foot down.
01:08But you're in the end zone.
01:09It doesn't matter.
01:10Right.
01:10The rule has always been in our entire lifetimes.
01:12Possession of the ball, two feet down.
01:15And as long as you don't fall down and lose control of the ball, that is called a touchdown.
01:22We have never wavered on that.
01:25That if a receiver stands up, has two feet and possession, it is a touchdown.
01:31100% of the time.
01:33Always.
01:33Except for yesterday.
01:35So, exactly what happened, happened.
01:37It gets reviewed because it's a scoring play, obviously.
01:40And they decide and determine that because he didn't get a third foot down, that it's not a touchdown.
01:49Touchdown.
01:50What?
01:51The rule has always been two feet or another body part, forearm and knee, that kind of thing, is a touchout.
01:58This is not the middle of the field.
02:00All right?
02:01Where you have to then make a football move.
02:03There is no football move once you're in the end zone.
02:07And they take the touchdown off the board.
02:10Now, look.
02:11It cost the Ravens the game.
02:13We could all talk all day and night, rightfully so, that the Ravens didn't play well.
02:18You're right.
02:18That Lamar Jackson threw a couple bad picks.
02:21You're right.
02:22You know, that Derrick Henry didn't go over 1,000 yards, wasn't dominant.
02:25You're right.
02:26We could talk about all that all day.
02:28I have no problem with that narrative that the Ravens didn't play great.
02:32You're right.
02:33But in a game that's going to decide the division champion, and by proxy, who goes to the playoffs in a month, you cannot get that one wrong.
02:46And the fact that all the referees now are kind of like circling around each other and supporting the decision on the field, I think makes it worse.
02:55We all saw what happened.
02:56One foot down, second foot down, possession, almost a third foot down.
03:02And then the ball gets knocked out of his hands.
03:04That's a touchdown, no?
03:06Always.
03:06It's a touchdown.
03:07And these referees, this season in particular, have been the worst I've ever seen.
03:12And now it's time.
03:13I feel like we say that every year, but I'm with you.
03:15The reason I – it's because it's too many game-altering plays.
03:19No one wants perfection from these accountants and plumbers.
03:22But we do need them to get the scoring plays correct.
03:25And turnovers.
03:26Yeah, I'm with you on that.
03:26They've got to get that done.
03:27And I'm watching the game, I'm like – and look, I don't wager – so I have no vested interest in the outcome of the game.
03:34I'm not a fan of either team.
03:36I like watching the Ravens play more.
03:38I think when they're playing their best football, they're one of the more entertaining teams, so I like being entertained.
03:43But I'm watching that game objectively.
03:45And I'm saying to myself, they just stole – and look, Steelers could have come down the field in theory and won the game.
03:52That could have happened.
03:53Could have.
03:53We'll never know, so I don't want to discount the fact that it wasn't the last play of the game and it guaranteed the determination of the end of the game.
