00:00Now, Joe, let's get to the big game of the day.
00:01It's Michigan, it's Oklahoma, 399-400 on the rotation.
00:05A 730 kickoff tonight.
00:06This is what's interesting about this.
00:08The side, of course, we think Oklahoma is the favorite.
00:10Yes, they are, minus 5.5 points.
00:12But look at the total, Joe.
00:1443.5 to 44 across the betting landscape right now.
00:17Are we seeing a defensive struggle tonight?
00:18It's possible.
00:19Now, this line is down.
00:20I think it opened up right in the area of about 46.5.
00:23We saw money come in on the under.
00:25And if you think about the matchup, styles make fights, right?
00:28You have an inexperienced quarterback in Bryce Underwood.
00:31What I brought up in the open, they struggled with New Mexico.
00:35He did throw for 251, one touchdown.
00:37Only rushed for two carries, five yards.
00:39He's going to need a better effort.
00:41But think about that defense led by Brett Venables.
00:43They contained Jalen Milrow last year, right?
00:46Won that game 24-3 against Alabama.
00:49What is the mindset and the offensive philosophy going up against Oklahoma?
00:55Experienced defense.
00:56And if I'm Brett Venables, Donnie, right?
00:59I have the more experienced quarterback.
01:01I want to push a little bit of tempo.
01:03But that's why you're seeing money come in on the under.
01:05Because if you're betting Michigan, it's got to be a four-quarter game, lower scoring.
01:09If they start to get into a shootout, it could be a long day.
01:12Great spot to start with Michigan itself, Joe.
01:14Because we are going to take a look at Oklahoma.
01:16They're their favorite team.
01:17Certainly, they're the home team.
01:18But understand this.
01:19So many times we talked about last week, big environments where maybe a quarterback just wasn't ready to perform.
01:24Bryce Underwood, heavily recruited, high-paid quarterback.
01:28He got a game under his belt, which I think was key.
01:30Was it a great performance for the team, 34-17?
01:32It was a victory, yes.
01:33But, you know, you want to beat those teams 41-7, per se.
01:3621-31, as you stated, 251 yards and one touchdown pass.
01:40Now, the ground game with Justice Haynes, 16 for 159 and three yards.
01:43That is a young quarterback's best friends.
01:45So I'll ask you this question.
01:46Bryce Underwood, game under his belt in the big house.
01:49Now he's going to normal Oklahoma.
01:50That place is going to be rocking today.
01:52Give me your opinion on how he can handle that.
01:54Well, I think, again, I think you've got to get him into a rhythm, right?
01:57That's the biggest thing.
01:59Maybe some bubble screens.
02:00Sort of what we saw from C.J. Carr going on the road to Miami.
02:04First drive, they got him involved in the passing attack.
02:07Sideline to sideline.
02:08Then they opened up a little bit, going more vertical.
02:11I think that's what you could see out of Bryce Underwood in Michigan.
02:14I will say the one positive in the passing attack, Donnie,
02:18is that he spread the football to a number of different wide receivers.
02:21There's Marlon Klein, the tight end.
02:22We thought that they would be a little inefficient with Loveland now in Chicago.
02:26Not the case.
02:27Four receptions over 50 yards.
02:30Did distribute the football to a number of different wideouts as well.
02:34That shows that he has progression.
02:36So that's important when you go on the road against an overactive defense in Oklahoma
02:40that can run sideline to sideline.
02:42Yeah, look at Michigan.
02:43Win total, 8.5.
02:44You take a look at the win the Big Ten championship, a plus 8.50 price.
02:47This national championship, or excuse me, just to make the playoff, is a plus 225.
02:51And then also some other obstacles that you could take a look at.
02:54National championship, 40-1 at this point.
02:55I don't know if they're there at this point, but this is going to go a really, really long way.
02:59So being optimistic, Jerome Moore and the team, what are your expectations, Joe,
03:02for that game plan for the Michigan Wolverines, as you stated?
03:05Is it to be quarterback-friendly early, where he said CJ Carr?
03:08But for me, I like to go against the grain.
03:10Why can't we open it up early?
03:11Yeah, they should, because again, you've got to believe that Oklahoma's going to take away
03:15Justice Saints in the rushing attack.
03:17Forrest Bryce Underwood to beat us over the top.
03:20You saw the rushing statistics, two carries, minus five yards.
03:23I think he's got to get over his total today.
03:26Not 50 yards, but he's got to be in the area of about 30.
03:28You have to put some pressure on the edge of Oklahoma's defense to allow them to think about
03:33the RPO game with Bryce Underwood's athleticism, right?
03:37But the biggest thing for me is, if we're looking big picture for Michigan, they get
03:42this win, Donnie.
03:43That is a huge benefit for them to potentially be a 10 or 11-win football team.
03:48So that's, when you look at this road game, it's important to go into Oklahoma, open it
03:53up, see if you can make it a four-quarter game, steal it within the final, you know, four
03:58or five minutes, and then you're playing with house money.
04:00The only difficult road games, potentially, that they have on their schedule in the first
04:04month that they have two months, on the road against Nebraska, on the road against
04:07road in the Coliseum against USC.
04:09They could be favored in both of those games, depending upon how tonight plays out.
