00:00At one time I was small just like you guys and didn't know inside of me that I would have been a police officer.
00:08Didn't know that inside of me I would have been a deputy commissioner of police.
00:14But you know what? I'm here today.
00:16I want to tell you one thing.
00:18Dreams come true.
00:20And dreams come true if you believe in yourself and believe in a God that is able to help you.
00:25Alright? You can accomplish anything that you want in your life.
00:32Once you believe in your heart that you can do it, you can achieve it.
00:55Smile now.
01:02The members of the ITF Hearts and Minds, we do a lot of community work.
01:17Be in the communities, talking to persons, talking to the public and from doing that we gather information, gather like the needs and what they need.
01:27And we observe that due to tough economic times, people can't cut hair.
01:34Simple thing as cutting hair or grooming the kids is very difficult.
01:37So we came up with this initiative to ITF Hearts and Minds, Faith and Breaks, to entertain the young kids before they go back to school so they could be groomed and looking good, feeling good, go back to school confidently.
01:50I appreciate it very much because today I was really taking him to my barber for him to get a haircut.
02:03But when I called him, he told me to have him the Sunny Promenade with the giving back to the community so I can bring him, which I appreciate.
02:11That is saving some money.
02:12Very important because having a lot of parents cannot afford, so this will help parents, you know, to save a little money or hold back some money for something else.
02:31And the idea is really to build that community engagement, build that level of trust and it's showing a softer side of the police.
02:39It is our aim really to build that community engagement and to let persons understand that as the police service, we are not just about law enforcement, but we are also showing that we can engage even with the young people, taking the time while we're cutting the hair, while we're braiding the hair, to speak into the lives of our young people so that they can understand that they have a future and they can contribute, you know, to China to be going in a very positive way.
03:09Thank you very much.
