00:00The Early Beaver Network, a social enterprise, is a parents' village, says Aaliyah Jackson.
00:06Established in 2022, the network has driven its efforts in creating impact on young girls in the country.
00:13The Glow Girls Confidence Workshop, set to begin in August, aims to continue this mission.
00:19Glow Girls Confidence Camp is a five-day empowerment journey where we take the girls from baseline
00:28to hopefully becoming more confident young women.
00:32What we do is that we try to use a scientific take on how we can develop and bolster the girls' confidence.
00:41So we incorporate things like creative journaling, we incorporate the practice of gratitude, we incorporate public speaking.
00:51Rachel Pickering, former participant of the program, tells us of the notable impact it has had on her.
00:58It has impacted me greatly in a way that I'm able to do things that I have not been doing for a while.
01:03I'm able to speak, I have a lot of public speaking skills.
01:06It is still developing, but I'm still able to go in front of large crowds and do certain skits.
01:12I've done extempos, I've done many things in my local church.
01:15So why girls?
01:16There's like so many messages that they're being targeted with.
01:19And now because of social media, you know, it's amplified, it's everywhere, right?
01:24And because of that, you know, we really want to be intentional about how we go about safeguarding, developing these girls' identity, their self-esteem.
01:35So even in the face of all of these messages, they have a very clear sense of self, you know, in terms of how they respond to it.
01:43With speakers and coaches from different industries, the five-day workshop, priced at $695, begins on the 5th of August and ends on the 11th.
