00:01Bursatu's Hang Tuwa Jaya chief, Azruddin Idris, has condemned the circulation of poison pen letters aimed at discrediting the party's deputy president, Hamza Sainuddin.
00:11Azruddin said the letters were circulated in various WhatsApp groups linked to Bursatu and sent from unknown numbers, including both local lines and those registered in Thailand, suggesting an organized effort.
00:24He said the content of the letters were singularly aimed at tarnishing Hamza's reputation.
00:30He said the fact that the messages are circulating only in Bursatu's support groups raises questions over whether they were written and spread by party insiders who view Hamza as a rival.
00:41He urged Bursatu members to reject any organized attempt to import toxic practices from other parties, particularly slander and efforts to pit leaders against one another.
00:52The poison pen letter cited by FMT accused Hamza of fabricating claims that party president Muhyiddin Yassin had promised him the leadership.
01:02It said the party's 2024 General Assembly had unanimously confirmed Muhyiddin as president until the next general election and went on to portray Hamza as the enemy within who was defying the party's decision.
