00:00A Bersatu Supreme Council member hit back at former Deputy President Hamzat Zainuddin,

00:06urging him to stop slandering the party following his remarks about a supposed faction

00:11seeking closer ties with Pakatan Harapan.

00:15Dr. Afif Bahardin said the opposition leader appeared intent on attacking Bersatu

00:21rather than focusing on government policies.

00:24Afif, who was with PKR before joining Bersatu in 2020,

00:28said that as opposition leader, Hamzat should focus on playing his check and balance role,

00:33adding that he has not done that for a long time.

00:36Yesterday, Hamzat claimed that a faction within Bersatu was attempting to move the party closer to PH.

00:43According to Berita Harian, Hamzat alleged that a group trying to forge closer ties with PH was linked to PKR.

00:50Hamzat, however, did not name anyone in particular.

00:53Hamzat further asked if action would be taken against this faction,

00:57pointing out that he was sacked after meeting Ahmad Zayed Hamidi, the UMNO president.
