01:15In Cosmic Encounters, players take on the role of Aliens.

01:26Yes!
01:27This is a competitive game of attacking planets and waging intense warfare, but it's also one
01:32of the silliest versions of intergalactic aggression ever created.
01:36Players will be slipping into the skin of asymmetric aliens, each with a game-bending power.
01:43Players begin the game in control of four planets, each with four ships stacked on their surface.
01:49Throughout the game, players will visit opposing players' planets, attempting to establish
01:53foreign colonies on planets beyond their own.
01:56The first player to control four foreign colonies wins the game.
02:01On their turn, the active player draws a card from the Destiny deck, which determines which
02:07aliens they're about to have an encounter with.
02:10The active player, known as the Offense, points the hyperspace gate at the planet they wish to
02:18colonize.
02:19Don't love the word.
02:20It's in there.
02:20Then, they add one to four ships from any of their home colonies to that encounter.
02:26The Offense can offer other players the opportunity to join in this battle as an ally.
02:32The defending player can also invite people to ally.
02:36The two players face off by simultaneously playing face-down encounter cards from their
02:40hands, which might result in an attack, a negotiation, or other shenanigans.
02:46If the Offense wins, all the ships on the hyperspace gate move onto that planet.
02:51And all the defensive ships are gonna go straight to the warp, a graveyard for defeated ships
02:57at the center of the galaxy.
02:58If the defense wins, the Offense sends all their ships to warp, including their allies.
03:03If both players negotiate, they have one minute to make a deal.
03:07Turns are gonna go around the table with players attacking and defending, zapping and warping, until one or more players establish their fourth colony.
03:17Then, the game immediately ends, and that player, or players, wins.
