01:23I've been playing this game a little over a year, and I have genuinely made, like, 20 new adult friends.

01:44Blood on the Clock Tower is a social deduction game of lies and logic with a storyteller to run the game.
01:50In the sleepy town of Ravenswood Bluff, a demon is amongst us.
01:54And it's up to the townspeople to find out who the demon is before it kills them.
01:59Each game of Blood on the Clock Tower follows a script that defines the roles and goals of the players and villains.
02:05At the outset of the game, each player receives either a good or evil token with their unique character and ability on it.
02:12The good team, made up of the helpful townsfolk and the less helpful outsiders, wins if they can piece together their knowledge and execute the demon.
02:22The evil team, made up of the demon and their minions, lie about who they are and what they know to appear good.
02:30They win if they can sow distrust, spread disinformation, and wipe out the village.
02:36Death is not the end for players in this game, but it does mean a player's special power stops working, they only get one more ghost vote for the rest of the game,
02:45and they can no longer nominate people for execution, but they may continue to actively participate in discussions and they can keep working together to piece together the mystery.
02:54Gameplay is made up of two phases.
02:56In the night phase, the storyteller wakes up players with certain abilities one by one and gives them information or asks them to make choices.
03:05In the day phase, players interact by sharing information or bold-faced lying.
03:10After some discussion, players nominate who they think should be executed.
03:15If enough people vote for a nominee, they're considered on the block to die.
03:20Day and night phases continue until either the demon is killed or until the demon is one of the last two players left alive.
03:30All right, everybody, the first thing we've got to do is hand out tokens and we're going to be playing Trouble Brewing.
03:35This is the script we always start with.

04:09This is just to reflect Rekha's enthusiasm for the democratic process in general.

04:38So second, let's look at our demon, which is no longer the imp.
04:42In this case, the demon is Sam.

04:47Because Sam Reich is a bit of a puppet master, in this case, the demon is very similar to the imp.
04:52Each night, choose a player, they die.
04:54If you kill yourself this way, a minion becomes Sam.

05:01That means that there might be a marionette in this game.
05:04The marionette reads, you think you are a good character, but you are not.
