At long last, from the perspective of the United States, Germany is stepping up to the plate and greatly increasing its military spending.
The politicians in Germany have found a way to bypass the legal limitation on debt enshrined in the Basic Law. This is intended to enable them to develop the military and weaponry they feel is needed to protect themselves from potential threats.
The Germans and 75% of NATO feel they have to take these type of steps because they feel the USA can no longer be relied on to help protect them militarily.
Politico asked about Germany's military rebuilding, "What Could Go Wrong?"
Could this rebuilding be part of the rise of the “Fourth Reich”? If so, what would this mean? What were the first three Reichs? The so-called 'Holy Roman Empire' was the first. Imperial Germany of the 19th century was the second. Adolph Hitler’s Nazi Germany was the third. Can the rise of the fourth Reich be related to a revival of some type of the Holy Roman Empire?
The Bible shows that the final King of the North will have a "great army" (Daniel 11:25) and "many ships" (Daniel 11:40). Could that be Germany, which is also working on many military technologies, including supercollider research?
Consider, further, that the Bible tells of a power that had been unsuccessful going against a prosperous nation with a strong military before (WWI and WII?), but will finally succeed per Daniel 11:24 and Daniel 11:39. Could the next attempt be World War III and the end of the United States of America?
Could the USA be the ungodly/hypocritical nation of Isaiah 10:7 that God says He will use the end-time descendants of Assyria to punish?
Are there any prophetic and historic ties between ancient Assyria and the Germanic peoples of Central Europe?

00:00Greetings, friends. This is Steve Dupuis for the Bible News Prophecy Program with Dr. Bob Thiel,
00:10bringing you news and analysis of world events in light of Bible prophecy. Dr. Thiel, with all the
00:16talk in Europe of building a great army, what is going on with Germany and its military?
00:22Well, it's rebuilding it. Somebody I know sent me a link to something from Politico yesterday,
00:28and the headline is, Germany's army is rebuilding. What could go wrong? And it talks about the fact
00:34that many in Germany have been like anti-military, but now they're switching and beginning to get
00:38great pride in their country and their military again. And their defense minister told recruits
00:44that Germany's democracy needs to be defended, and they're having celebrations to get new recruits
00:52to be loyal to the Federal Republic of Germany. And Politico says, across Germany, politicians
00:58and members of the public are going through a transformation. And the Bundestag, which is
01:04their military, was formed to support NATO, as opposed to Germany having its own military,
01:12because they didn't want it to be misused like World War II. But according to the German Chancellor,
01:18Mertz, Europe doesn't just need to arm itself against Russia, by the way, it needs to achieve
01:24independence from the United States. This is one more step of a dangerous sign, according to Politico.
01:31And Politico's article concludes with, Germany's entering the third consecutive year recession,
01:38and its heavy industries are struggling to stay competitive. They're now hoping that defense
01:43spending will give them a boost. And shares in their steel sector shot up since these military
01:48announcements. Dr. Dill, the author didn't really answer the question for us. So what could go wrong?
01:58Take World War III. Also consider that German companies like Volkswagen, which made German weapons
02:04in World War II, is now in the process of doing that again. Plus, we see more and more German leaders
02:10distant themselves from the United States. There's been a shift going on in Germany.
02:14The German publication Deutsch Wells reported, quote, Germans no longer see the U.S. as a trustworthy
02:20partner. And they decided that the government's got to spend money on major parties for military
02:28infrastructure. The article states, quote, U.S. no longer reliable. Trump's only been back in office
02:37for a while. He's also been calling in question core policies, which is having a massive impact on how
02:42Germans view Trump and the United States. And just how do the Germans now view the United States?
02:50Only one in six voters describe the United States as a partner that Germany can trust.
02:57Oh, wow.
02:58Three quarters believe that NATO can't rely on the United States for protection.
03:03There's a growing support for greater European independence, and half of them want a European
03:10military alliance. That's what that article had to say. Now, the day before Trump's first election,
03:17on November 7, 2016, I wrote, if Trump is elected, Germans will see this as proof they can't rely on the
03:23U.S. sort of defense, and it's going to push for a European army. And that has been confirmed.
03:29If the Germans don't think the U.S. can be relied on, and Germany is pushing for a European army,
03:37as you predicted, are any steps being taken in Europe to build a German army?
03:43Yeah, they're trying to have a massive army. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz pledged
03:49to transform the German army into the strongest conventional army in Europe.
03:55So this is appropriate for Europe's most populous and economically powerful country.
04:01And their foreign minister said that they accept the idea that they need to greatly increase
04:06their spending, military spending, up to 5% of their gross domestic product.
04:12And both, even the opposition party is supporting that.
04:18Now, of course, we know Jesus said in Matthew 24, 6, the end is not yet.
04:21But many in Germany and elsewhere in Europe are unwittingly taking military steps that are
04:27going to lead to the end.
04:30Here's another article from Europe.
04:35A Brussels Reich.
04:38Von der Leyen's re-arm German plan.
04:41Europe plan.
04:41And the EU Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, introduced re-arm Europe initiative.
04:49They have spent almost a trillion U.S. dollars designed to enhance Europe's defense capabilities
04:56because we're in dangerous times.
05:00And let me add that Ursula von der Leyen is also German, by the way.
05:06And in the headline of that article, it had the term Reich, which means reign.
05:10So, okay, I noticed the term Reich.
05:18So tell me about that term.
05:19What does it mean?
05:21Well, the old Worldwide Church of God mentioned that in 1933, Adolf Hitler used the economic
05:27crisis in Germany then as a stepping stone to gain control of Germany and inaugurate the
05:32Third Reich of German history.
05:34And then he decided that it wasn't just enough for his country to go further on.
05:40And that's what happened in the Third Reich.
05:43And so he used an economic crisis to get there.
05:46And could we see a Fourth Reich to follow a third one?
05:48Now, the old Radio Church of God, back in 1964, thought so.
05:55It said the German, it wrote, the German problem isn't dead.
05:59Germans are thinking of an undivided Reich, of an undivided Europe.
06:04And they want an undivided Germany.
06:06Back then, by the way, East and West Germany were separated.
06:10And nobody's been looking forward to this, but the Germans hope and even pray for an undivided
06:16Germany, end quote.
06:22So that's really interesting to me, Dr. Thiel, as God's Holy Days also celebrated future events,
06:28three of which have been fulfilled.
06:30How is the implementation of the Fourth Reich progressing?
06:34Well, since the Radio Church of God put that out, East and West Germany united.
06:40The European Union has formed.
06:41We've now got a European currency.
06:44And I will also add, by the way, they're looking at a European nuclear umbrella of some type
06:50being considered by Germans, as well as large investments in technologies like the supercolliders.
06:57Technology and blitzkrieg-type tactics are going to surprise the world when the German-led
07:02beast power rises up that we read about in Revelation chapter 13, first five verses.
07:08So is the Fourth Reich in the process of forming?
07:11Well, some in Germany and elsewhere seem to think so.
07:14That doesn't mean that everybody in Germany ultimately wants to dominate the world.
07:18The Bible prophecy shows that deep down, those there do want to dominate.
07:23I was wondering if God also revealed something about this.
07:26Tell us about the prophecy.
07:28Well, in Isaiah chapter 10, starting in verse 5, we read,
07:34Woe to Assyria, the rod of my anger, and the staff in whose hand is my indignation.
07:40I, this is God says, I will send him against an ungodly, or as the old King James says,
07:46a hypocritical nation.
07:47Against the people of my wrath, I'll give him charge.
07:50The seas is spoiled, to take the prey, and tread them down like the mire of the streets.
07:54Now, here's verse 7, very interesting.
07:58But yet he doesn't mean so, nor does he think so.
08:01But it's in his heart to destroy and cut off not a few nations.
08:04Where he says, are not my princes altogether kings?
08:07So it says, even though they don't think they want to do it,
08:09they think they're the master race, and they're going to want to do this.
08:11So Isaiah tells a time where this end-time Assyrian power is going to be sent against this hypocritical nation,
08:20or ungodly nation, which means soiled or impious.
08:24And of course, right now, you see the United States fitting that in many ways.
08:29Tell us more about this Assyria, Germany, three reichs, and NATO.
08:36Well, certain historical and migration records show that the Assyrians moved into Central Europe,
08:43particularly in Germany.
08:44And by the way, we've got more on that in a free e-book we have at ccog.org on lost tribes
08:50that people can read to get more details.
08:53History also shows that Germany was the leading state in what's called the Holy Roman Empire.
09:02Now, as far as having different reichs go, you look under Fourth Reich.
09:06Wikipedia noted the Fourth Reich is a theoretical future German empire
09:12following the First Reich, which is the Holy Roman Empire from 962 to 1806.
09:16The Second Reich, the Imperial Germany of 1871 to 1918.
09:21And the Third Reich, Hitler's Germany from 1933 to 1945.
09:29And, you know, some people think that because of its economic influence,
09:33Germany's already sort of got a Fourth Reich in charge of Europe.
09:36Now, the Bible shows that the final European kingdom north will lead a revived type of Holy Roman Empire.
09:43This will be the empire or the beast power of Revelation 13.
09:46This new world order is going to have German dominance and, in a sense,
09:51will be the Fourth Militaristic Reich.
09:53Now, as far as NATO goes, it's long been my view that Europe will likely attack the United States
09:59and enter the UK under the guise of a NATO exercise.
10:04But the Bible shows that the guy who's going to rise up in Europe,
10:08which, again, I think is going to be German, won't have a lot of supporters.
10:11But it pulled off kind of like Adolf Hitler did.
10:13In Daniel chapter 11, verse 23, it says,
10:18After a league is made with him, he will act deceitfully.
10:21Hitler did that.
10:22He was deceitful.
10:23He's going to come strong with a small number of people.
10:26Hitler did that.
10:27He's going to enter peaceably into the richest places of the province
10:31and do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers.
10:36Well, World War I, World War II, they didn't succeed.
10:38So this is a prophecy for past that, which is a prophecy for now.
10:44Notice, he will disperse among the plunder of the riches.
10:48He'll devise his plan against the strongholds and only for a time.
10:51Well, in verse 39 of Daniel 11, it says,
10:54The power of the strongest fortresses is going to be defeated.
10:57And that, for the 21st century, is a reference to the United States
11:01and its British-descended allies.
11:04Now, I will also tell you, the book of Daniel says
11:06that this European power will have a great army, Daniel 11, verse 25,
11:10and many ships, Daniel 11, verse 40.
11:13And what the German Chancellor Mertz says,
11:15as well as the EU Commission President,
11:18is that's what they're working towards right now.
11:21The peace power is prophesied to rise from Europe,
11:25by the way, after various crises and reorganizations.
11:28We read about the reorganizations in Revelation 17, verses 12 to 13.
11:32Anyway, a Fourth Reich is in the process of being made,
11:38but it's not here yet.
11:40Again, we know that Germany was defeated twice last century.
11:44But I'm going to read a prophecy from Revelation 13, verse 14.
11:50It says,
11:51The beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.
11:55Germany was wounded, devastatingly, for World War I.
11:59And that helped lead to the rise of Adolf Hitler in World War II.
12:03Germany was devastated in World War II.
12:06But it's still there.
12:08You know, I mentioned Daniel 11, 24.
12:11Again, I want to make a few comments.
12:14It says,
12:15This end-time Germanic leader is going to enter peaceably,
12:19which I think is under the guise of NATO exercise, by the way.
12:24He's going to be deceitful.
12:25He's going to do what his fathers have not done or his forefathers.
12:29Again, World War I, World War II.
12:31They did not succeed.
12:33But again, it says he's going to plunder the spoil and riches,
12:37divide plans against the strongholds.
12:39And I mentioned Daniel 11, 39.
12:41It says he will defeat the strongest fortresses and divide the land for gain.
12:47This ties in, it's parallel to Daniel 11, verse 24.
12:52So what Germany was unable to do in the 20th century, in World War I, in World War II, was prophesied.
13:01But other people don't seem to understand these prophecies.
13:03They don't seem to see that that was Germany and that they're going to do it in World War III.
13:08And the stage is being set.
13:12I didn't mention also as far as getting a great army.
13:15Right now they're talking about either monetary incentives or they're going to implement a draft in Germany to get this great, massive army.
13:24These steps are happening.
13:26Now, in the United States, people are saying, oh, well, now NATO is spending 2% like Donald Trump wants.
13:32This is great.
13:33Well, they're spending more and more money for their own military.
13:36They want to be independent.
13:38People like Donald Trump have scared the Europeans in general and the Germans in particular.
13:43They want to lead again.
13:45Don't think they're going to be passive.
13:47They will attack when the end is coming.
13:51And I don't think it's too many years from now.
13:55Anyway, Germany is more and more committed to be a military power again.
14:00And more in Europe are supporting that.
14:01And as I've said many times, there will be many unintended consequences.
14:06The Trump-Vance administration, and the stronger German military is one of them.
