00:00Greetings, friends. This is Steve Dupuy for the Bible News Prophecy Program with Dr. Bob Thiel,

00:09bringing you news and analysis of world events in light of Bible prophecy. Dr. Thiel,

00:16are the European nations in Russia going to go to war against each other?

00:21Yes. Now, interestingly, this week, RT posted an article related to comments made by the Serbian

00:29President Alexander Vucic. And here's what he said. My conclusion is that there's a growing

00:36certainty that a war between Europe and Russia will happen. They're preparing for war, or for

00:42defense, as they call it. Romania, Poland, Finland, smaller countries too, and the Russians as well.

00:50Everyone is preparing. What can come from that? Only conflict. Then he added that Serbia itself

00:57is caught, quote, between a rock and a hard place, and therefore must strengthen its own

01:00military readiness. Now, Serbia has ties with Russia, as well as with the European Union, which it

01:07wants to be a member of, but it so far hasn't been. Well, anyway, that said, yes, to quote the Serbian

01:14president, a war between Europe and Russia will happen, end quote. Are there any verses from the

01:22Bible that support your statement? Yeah, the Bible shows that Russia is going to lead a future

01:28massive Eurasian alliance militarily. The alliance that also has a connection to Armageddon.

01:35Now, over in Europe right now, you've got Germany. And this week, it was announced that the German armed

01:40forces, the Buddhist war, are doing well and getting better all the time because they're preparing for

01:46something as well. Now, if a war comes between the two, who's going to win? Well, we looked at the

01:52Bible to find this out. I'd like to start the book of Daniel. It talks about the rise of a coming

01:58European beast power that it calls the King of the North. Now, in Daniel chapter 11, verse 39,

02:05he's shown to defeat the power with the strongest fortresses. That would be the United States of America

02:11and the British and his allies currently. Then he defeats a power from the Middle East and North

02:17Africa called the King of the South. Then he's got issues. So I want to read a few verses in Daniel 11,

02:25starting verse 40. At the time of the end, the King of the South shall attack him and the King of the

02:32North will come against him like a whirlwind. And anyway, he ends up winning, according to the Bible.

02:38Now, verse 44, but news from the East and the North shall trouble him. Therefore, he'll go out

02:45with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the

02:51seas and the glorious holy mountain. Yet he shall come to his end and no one will help him, end quote.

03:00Could you add a little clarity to those verses for us?

03:02Yes. At the time of the end, this European King of the North empire is going to overwhelm

03:10basically what's going to be an Islamic empire. But then something rises up that bothers him from

03:17the East and the North. And this would be referring to Russia and other Eurasian nations, because Russia

03:24is really the only northern power, major power that's north of Europe. And of course, pretty much all of

03:32Asia is east of Europe. And the Book of Daniel shows that they're going to help cause the King of

03:38the North to come to his end. Now, I want to add that the end is not yet. It's not a current plan of

03:44Russia's, by the way. And that war is at least seven years away.

03:46Well, isn't Russia the King of the North?

03:51No, a lot of people think that, including the late Hal Lindsey. But no, it doesn't make sense.

03:59Now, the Bible shows that Russia, Iran, and maybe Serbia, and some others are going to

04:06unite. In the Book of Ezekiel, chapter 32, it talks about Elam and all her multitude. And that,

04:14again, would seem to include Iranians and maybe some Serbians. And then verse 26, it talks about

04:21Meshach and Tubal and all their multitudes. This is Russia and its allies. And they're going to cause

04:30terror. And this terror is going to affect the European King of the North. Now, the late Church of

04:37God leader, Herman W. Armstrong, taught that the 17th chapter of Revelation defined a

04:44lady, the daughter of ancient Babylon described. In the 47th chapter of Isaiah, verse 11, it says,

04:51desolation shall come upon her suddenly, but she won't know. And that desolation, that thing,

04:58is this newly revived Europe that is coming up. And the desolation comes from Russia.

05:03Then he cites Jeremiah 50, verses 1 to 3. It says, the word that the Eternal spoke against Babylon,

05:13the land of Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet. Declare among the nations and publish it.

05:20Babylon is taken. Meridoc is broken into pieces. Her idols are confounded. Image is broken in pieces.

05:27For out of the north, there comes up a nation against her. Now, this is against Babylon.

05:34This is speaking of the country is finally coming against what you call Catholic Europe.

05:38And Russia is in the north and there are the south. Out of the north comes up a nation against her.

05:45So Babylon is basically the area of Roman Catholic Europe, which is led by the King of the North.

05:51And it is this European empire that goes to war with the power from the far north.

05:57Are there any other verses in the Bible that support this?

06:02Well, yes. Well, I cited Jeremiah 50 from Herod of Armstrong, the first couple of verses.

06:12But you say in that chapter, for example, let's go down to verse 41.

06:17Verse 41, we read, behold, a people shall come from the north, a great nation and many kings.

06:24So it's not just one country.

06:26Shall be raised from the ends of the earth.

06:30OK, so all the way to the far east.

06:34And I suspect perhaps maybe even from South Africa, maybe from South America,

06:38because those would be the ends of the earth as well.

06:40They shall take hold of the bow and the lance.

06:43They are cruel and shall not show mercy.

06:47Their voice shall roar like the sea.

06:51They shall ride on horses, set in array like a man for the battle.

06:57OK, now against who?

06:59Bible says against you, oh, daughter of Babylon.

07:03So it's the daughter of Babylon.

07:04It's not ancient Babylon.

07:07It's a descendant of Babylon.

07:09And verse 43, the king of Babylon.

07:14Now, by the way, I think this is the same person the Bible calls the king of the north.

07:17We just read about him.

07:19The king of Babylon has heard the report about them.

07:23And his hands grow feeble.

07:27Anguish has taken hold of him.

07:29Pangs as of a woman in childbirth.

07:33OK, so that's what the Bible says.

07:35Anyway, Russia is the leading power of the north.

07:37And we see that the coming European empire is the daughter of Babylon.

07:42And it's going to be destroyed by this Russian-led force that cooperates with nations from the ends of the earth, like nations in the east.

07:52Could you give us an idea of the names of some of these nations in the east?

07:56Well, I mentioned Iran.

08:00I also believe at least parts of Ukraine.

08:04And I do think, by the way, Ukraine is going to have European cooperation for a while.

08:08But because of other prophecies regarding the people of the Medes, I think at least part of Ukraine will ultimately turn against Europe and support Russia.

08:18Then you've got countries like Belarus, and they're also kind of basically Russian-Orthodox in terms of religion.

08:28And so I think they're going to get together.

08:30I mentioned Serbia.

08:31And I do think parts of Asia, all the way like China, Korea, and even Japan will be involved.

08:42Now, I want to go back to Jeremiah 50.

08:45I'm going to read a couple other verses, this time starting in verse 8.

08:49The north country being Russia, and the assembly that's going to put other nations in basically a confederation.

09:16Confederation, and they shall array themselves against her.

09:22From there, she shall be captured.

09:26Who?

09:27The daughter of Babylon.

09:29Their arrows should be like those of an expert warrior, and none shall return in vain.

09:35I think they're going to be successful.

09:38Now, I want to go to the book of Isaiah.

09:41Let's people think, oh, that's the only one, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, the only ones that are talking about this.

09:46Well, I'd also quote a Daniel.

09:49It's good Isaiah.

09:50Isaiah chapter 13.

09:52And by the way, I've mostly been reading from the New King James Version of the Bible, mainly because it uses more or less modern American English.

09:59Anyway, Isaiah, the prophet, chapter 13, starting in verse 1, wrote,

10:07The burden against Babylon, which Isaiah, the son of Amos, saw.

10:15Lift up a banner on the high mountain.

10:17Raise your voice to them.

10:20Wave your hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles.

10:25I've commanded your sanctified ones.

10:27I've called my mighty ones for my anger.

10:31Those who rejoice in my exultation.

10:33The noise of the multitude in the mountains, like that of many peoples.

10:38A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together.

10:44The Lord of hosts musters the army for battle.

10:48They come from a far country, from the end of heaven.

10:51The Lord and his weapons of indignation to destroy the whole land.

10:56Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand.

10:58It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

11:03Therefore, all hands will be limp.

11:05Every man's heart will moult.

11:07They will be afraid.

11:09Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them.

11:11Remember, I read about pangs as a woman in childbirth from Jeremiah.

11:17We're talking about the same incident.

11:22Oh, it even says in the next verse, I've heard of it.

11:24They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth.

11:26Okay, I should have read that one before I went back there.

11:28They will be amazed with one another.

11:32Their faces will be like flames.

11:35So, we see an account in both Jeremiah and Isaiah, talking about the same invaders.

11:48This is referring to an end-time confederation.

11:51They've got some distance to travel.

11:54It's apparently a type of union of powers from the east, including Russia, who's also a major power from the north.

12:00Now, I mentioned prophecies about the Medes, and I didn't read them.

12:05But we have a free e-book that's available called Lost Tribes and Prophecies.

12:11And this goes into more depth about other prophecies that involve, let's say I mentioned the Russians,

12:17and the Medes, which include, I think, not only the Russians, but some in Belarus and some in Ukraine.

12:24As long-time listeners of our broadcast may be aware, we said, by the way, years ago, I think back in 2013,

12:36that at least parts of Ukraine were going to end up supporting Russia.

12:40And the next year, 2014, you got Crimea.

12:44Now, irrespective of what the president of Ukraine thinks, some parts of Ukraine are going to support Russia, if not all of it.

12:55Anyway, having said that, this book goes into more depth, has more prophecies about that.

13:04And so people can learn more about what's going to happen in terms of also Armageddon and the various woes in the Bible.

13:14Now, I also want to read one other passage from Isaiah.

13:20This also talks about, ties in with this far country.

13:26Isaiah 46, verse 11.

13:29Calling a bird of prey from the east.

13:31And remember, Russia is east of Europe.

13:35Matter of fact, Russia is the most east you can be.

13:39What do you mean by that?

13:40You've got parts of Russia that go so far east, they had to change the date line because it would be in the west.

13:47Okay.

13:48Anyway, calling a bird of prey from the east.

13:51The man who executes my counsel from a far country.

13:55Indeed, I've spoken it.

13:56I'll bring it to pass.

13:57I purpose it.

13:58I'll also do it.

13:59So it's going to happen.

14:00So, yes, the president of Serbia is right.

14:02War will occur between Russia and Europe.

14:05And despite preparations, Europe is going to be defeated.
