00:00:00Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:30Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:01:00Matthew Murphy and Steph Horton get stuck into our old friend VAR a little bit later on.
00:01:04To Old Trafford, Manchester United trying to put their League Cup defeat to Grimsby behind them against newly promoted Burnley.
00:01:10Commentary from Mark Scott.
00:01:13Ruben Amarim sounded like he was thinking of packing it in after that Grim night in the week.
00:01:19And has since admitted sometimes he does feel like quitting.
00:01:23But at other times he wants to stay here for 20 years.
00:01:26So what will it be today?
00:01:28He's named the team just one different from the draw at Fulham as Dallot replaces Dorgou.
00:01:34So Alte Bayendier gets the nod in the battle of the unconvincing keepers.
00:01:39And Matthias Cunha leads the line still looking for his first goal for the club.
00:01:43Scott Parker sticks with the side that started last weekend's win over Sunderland.
00:01:48Which means an Old Trafford return for Hannibal who joined Burnley from United last summer.
00:01:53Former Manchester City man Kyle Walker has won six times in the Premier League here.
00:01:59A joint record for an away player.
00:02:05Kept in by Bryn Larsson.
00:02:10Now Furn but fair on Hannibal.
00:02:12Bruno Fernandes now.
00:02:13Picking out Mbumo.
00:02:16Nice touch.
00:02:17Good hit.
00:02:18Well saved by Dubravka.
00:02:22Super pass from Bruno Fernandes.
00:02:25Silky first touch from Brian Mbumo.
00:02:27And that was on target and needed dealing with from Dubravka.
00:02:33Mount.
00:02:34Gorgeous first touch.
00:02:35And Mbumo's on to this and is in.
00:02:38It's Mbumo!
00:02:41It's a big chance.
00:02:43Which he's been unable to take.
00:02:46And will be kicking himself here that he hasn't given Manchester United the early lead.
00:02:50And a couple of big chances have come and gone.
00:02:56Blocked by Mason Mount.
00:02:58Did well there to get it off Walker.
00:03:00Oh and it's gone over and Sam Barrett says penalty kick.
00:03:04Kyle Walker was clumsy.
00:03:06And he's paid the price.
00:03:09But Walker blocked off by Mason Mount.
00:03:12Who then got the wrong side of him.
00:03:14And in trying to rescue the situation.
00:03:17Just forced him into a tumble.
00:03:19Just inside the area.
00:03:23So the view from the VAR is that Mason Mount is tugging at the shirt of Kyle Walker.
00:03:31This penalty is going to be overturned by Sam Barrett.
00:03:35And this is the reason why.
00:03:37After review.
00:03:39Burnley number two does not commit a pole on Man United number seven.
00:03:43My final decision is no penalty and drop ball to the goalkeeper.
00:03:47It's the initial pulling of the shirt by Mason Mount.
00:03:49But that Stuart Atwell the VAR was quickly on to.
00:03:53And Sam Barrett concurs.
00:03:55That there was nothing in it from Walker.
00:03:59Pretty febrile atmosphere at Old Trafford now.
00:04:02After that penalty was overturned.
00:04:04And Ahmad.
00:04:07Kunia wants it.
00:04:09Lovely stuff.
00:04:11Ahmad.
00:04:11Now is that a penalty?
00:04:13Sam Barrett says no.
00:04:15My first instinct was that he just got the ball before Ahmad tried to race away.
00:04:27And there was just a faint tickle.
00:04:28Kobe Maynou put in a loan request yesterday but Manchester United have rejected it.
00:04:38Bumo.
00:04:38bringing Talo into it with a gorgeous pass.
00:04:45And Karl Walker leapt in.
00:04:50Really clever ball that from O'Brien and Pumo.
00:04:53It's actually a free kick to Manchester United for the challenge by Walker.
00:05:04Bruno Fernandes.
00:05:05Oh, Casemiro.
00:05:10It's in.
00:05:12Manchester United in front.
00:05:19Casemiro's tracking header that cracked against the bar.
00:05:24Hit Cullen and went in.
00:05:26De Bravka did his level best.
00:05:31But the ball was over the line before he clawed it clear.
00:05:35And Manchester United have the opening goal.
00:05:39But still no Manchester United player has scored in the Premier League.
00:05:48Casemiro sees his persistence pay off.
00:05:51As he wins Manchester United a corner in the last minute of the first half.
00:05:59Bruno Fernandes with the low one in.
00:06:02And Ahmad!
00:06:04Would have been some goal.
00:06:09Slap marking from Burnley.
00:06:12Almost cost them again here.
00:06:15Now is the counter on here for Manchester United.
00:06:18Xerxi.
00:06:19Look at Mbumo.
00:06:20There's the pass.
00:06:21It's Brian Mbumo to make it two.
00:06:23Unselfish!
00:06:24And over the top from Ahmad.
00:06:27What a miss.
00:06:29It's a quick, crisp counter that really deserved better.
00:06:33Brian Mbumo could have had a pop himself.
00:06:35But tried to tee up Ahmad.
00:06:37Whose first time hit was spooned wide.
00:06:40And a big chance to go two up.
00:06:42Goes begging.
00:06:44Manchester United have made a change at the break.
00:06:47Kobi Meynu is on for Mason Mount.
00:06:50Brun Larsson dangerous 1-1.
00:06:56Lyle Foster on target for Burnley.
00:06:59And all of those missed chances have come back to bite Manchester United.
00:07:05There's too much room here for Jakob Brun Larsson.
00:07:10And he used that space to weave the ball into a really inviting area.
00:07:16And nobody was picking up Lyle Foster who stabs beyond Bayern Deer to level it up for the Clarets.
00:07:23And it's one each.
00:07:24And it's one each.
00:07:28Here goes Dallot.
00:07:30Looking for the immediate response.
00:07:32And Bumo!
00:07:33And they've got it!
00:07:35Brian Mbumo's first Premier League goal for Manchester United.
00:07:40And Bumo took kickoff.
00:07:44Bayern Deer then heaved it upfield.
00:07:46Xerxes flick.
00:07:48Chased by Diogo Dallo who showed real industry.
00:07:51And then found Brian Mbumo had the simplest of tasks.
00:07:55And the man who missed from 12 yards in the shootout against Grimsby converts from 6 yards to put Ruben Amram's team back in front.
00:08:09Although, still a shake of the head from the coach.
00:08:14Hartman adventuring forwards.
00:08:17And Foster's in here!
00:08:192-2!
00:08:20But the flag goes up.
00:08:23Looked offside at first glance.
00:08:25But you're never quite sure these days.
00:08:33And I'll tell you what.
00:08:34It's closer than it was at first glance.
00:08:37The call is confirmed.
00:08:41But this is how close it was.
00:08:44Anthony.
00:08:47Held up by Ahmad.
00:08:52In from Karl Walker.
00:08:54Flicked across dangerously.
00:08:56And Uga Chubu's effort saved.
00:08:57The rebound is in though.
00:08:59And Burnley at level once again.
00:09:05Jade and Anthony.
00:09:07Making the most of a fiasco inside the Manchester United penalty area.
00:09:14One long throw into the area.
00:09:17And Manchester United all at sea.
00:09:20Should the keeper have held it.
00:09:22That will be the question.
00:09:24Going to have a minimum of five added minutes at the end of the 90.
00:09:27Fernandes.
00:09:32You're not going to get anything for that.
00:09:37Well there was a tug of the shirt here.
00:09:39From Jade and Anthony.
00:09:41At first glance there looked nothing in it.
00:09:44But you can see here Jade and Anthony.
00:09:47Has a hold of Ahmad's shirt.
00:09:49So he's had a look.
00:09:53After a review.
00:09:55Burnley at 11.
00:09:57Has a sustained pulling action on Man United 16.
00:10:00Which is not seen a penalty against my final decision.
00:10:03So it's a penalty for Manchester United in stoppage time.
00:10:08Is he going to watch this one?
00:10:10Doesn't look like it does it?
00:10:12Bruno Fernandes.
00:10:14Who missed the penalty at Fulham last weekend.
00:10:19Fernandes points the net.
00:10:20And Manchester United have found a way.
00:10:29It looked like his side had blown it on a couple of occasions.
00:10:34But right at the end.
00:10:36The skipper has stepped up to score.
00:10:39And Manchester United have their first victory in the league this season.
00:10:45We had so many chances to score more goals.
00:10:51To control more of the game.
00:10:53Especially in the first half.
00:10:55Sometimes it's hard to understand how we are going to miss so many opportunities.
00:11:00But in the end we won.
00:11:01Let's move on.
00:11:02How important is it for you to get your first Premier League goal for Manchester United?
00:11:06Yeah of course I'm very happy with this.
00:11:09We win at the end as well.
00:11:11So it's even better.
00:11:13And for a striker obviously it's important to get confidence.
00:11:16With goals and yeah I'm very happy.
00:11:18And there was never any point when you worried about whether you'd still be here for the next match?
00:11:22No I know guys.
00:11:22I know sometimes it's me that start that.
00:11:27Again I'm really emotional.
00:11:29And it's good for you guys.
00:11:30So you have fun.
00:11:31I understand because to be boring for you is not an option.
00:11:36So I will try to continue.
00:11:38We started the game really slowly.
00:11:40Really really slowly.
00:11:41I'm immensely proud.
00:11:42Second half we was a real threat.
00:11:44And was really worthy of our goals.
00:11:46Disappointing with how the game ends of course.
00:11:49That's the way the game's gone now obviously.
00:11:52We're becoming a very sterile game.
00:11:54The on-field decision at that time.
00:11:56The ref didn't give the foul.
00:11:57So I don't know whether it's clear and obvious.
00:12:00That's the rule.
00:12:01And at that moment we've re-reffed it with VAR.
00:12:03We obviously sees it as a clear and obvious error.
00:12:07But it ain't the ref.
00:12:07It's a fella 200 miles away in a van who's decided it really.
00:12:13So that's the way the game's going and we understand that.
00:12:15You can understand his disappointment.
00:12:18You can maybe understand his frustration with the bloke in the van 200 miles away.
00:12:22But was it a penalty for you?
00:12:25Let's deal with that first.
00:12:26I think it was.
00:12:27When we look at all these different angles.
00:12:28And I think for me Ahmad was brilliant for Manchester United.
00:12:31He caused Burnley a lot of problems with his direct play.
00:12:34But also giving and going.
00:12:35And I think as soon as he passes that ball to Bruno and he gets into the box.
00:12:40Anthony I think for me it's a mistake to try and grab him.
00:12:43Because I think Hartman's there to help him.
00:12:45I think the key thing is Chapman's the ball's going back into Ahmad's path.
00:12:48But also as soon as he grabs the shirt.
00:12:50The shirt pull continues into the box.
00:12:52So for me I think once you see that it becomes a little bit more clearer.
00:12:56But I understand Scott Parker's frustration.
00:12:58They do take into account the path of the ball.
00:13:01And whether someone's going to get there.
00:13:03Ruben Amarim didn't look just like he did at Grimsby.
00:13:06But they do take into account the path of the ball.
00:13:09Yeah I think it's important.
00:13:10I think if Ahmad's got a chance of getting there.
00:13:11And I think with his pace.
00:13:13And him forward running defenders recovering.
00:13:14I think he gives himself a bit of a chance.
00:13:16And maybe that shirt pull really hindered his movement.
00:13:19To get on the end of the ball.
00:13:20The thing from Manchester United's point of view is.
00:13:21There really should have been.
00:13:22As kind of both managers alluded to in their interviews.
00:13:25There should have been home and dry after the first half.
00:13:27Well there's a lot of criticism after the Grimsby performance.
00:13:29Rightly so for the manager and the players.
00:13:32And I think what all United supporters wanted to see today.
00:13:35Was a reaction.
00:13:36In the intensity.
00:13:37In the passion.
00:13:38In the desire.
00:13:38And the quality of course.
00:13:40And they certainly got that first half.
00:13:42And you're right.
00:13:42The game should have been put to bed.
00:13:44There was many good performances.
00:13:46This ain't about tactics.
00:13:48This ain't about.
00:13:50You know.
00:13:51That element of the game.
00:13:52This is simply.
00:13:53Who wants to work hard.
00:13:54Make tackles.
00:13:55Close people down.
00:13:56And then who's got the courage to play the courageous passes.
00:13:59And try and open the team up.
00:14:00And risk making mistakes.
00:14:02He's unlucky in Brumo there.
00:14:03Brilliant pass from Fernandes.
00:14:05After Mount had won the ball back.
00:14:07Sometimes it's where.
00:14:08This is the quality I'm talking about.
00:14:09You have to be switched on.
00:14:11You're at home in the Premier League.
00:14:12You've got to get the fans excited.
00:14:14Mount was exceptional in the first half.
00:14:17Again.
00:14:17Closing Walker down here.
00:14:19This is the one where.
00:14:20They actually gave a penalty.
00:14:22And then.
00:14:23They changed their mind on that one.
00:14:24Rightly so as well.
00:14:25With the.
00:14:25I thought that was the right decision.
00:14:27Bruno set in the press.
00:14:28Mateus Cunha.
00:14:30Thought he was good until unfortunately he had to go off injured.
00:14:32Putting pressure on Burnley.
00:14:34And if you do that against anyone.
00:14:35You're going to get the fans behind you.
00:14:37Of course.
00:14:38Set plays.
00:14:38They got their reward for all their good play.
00:14:40But this is the desire to get in there.
00:14:42Win headers.
00:14:43Casemiro's good at that.
00:14:43They get a bit of luck.
00:14:44But they deserve that bit of luck.
00:14:46After their performance.
00:14:47And I thought Ahmad.
00:14:48As well.
00:14:49Was terrific today.
00:14:51Doesn't always play the position he wants.
00:14:52But he was sharp with the ball.
00:14:54He was great without the ball.
00:14:55And this would have capped off a fine first half performance from Manchester United.
00:14:59Maybe Mbromo could have gone himself.
00:15:01That is a difference to last season isn't it?
00:15:03That energy and press.
00:15:04That is different.
00:15:05Well they've got more legs.
00:15:07If you looked at the starting line up.
00:15:08You know.
00:15:08If you think of Mount.
00:15:09He's always been good without the ball.
00:15:10Cunha's quick.
00:15:11Strong.
00:15:12Mbromo's quick.
00:15:13Strong.
00:15:13So you can be more athletic.
00:15:15And yet.
00:15:16They nearly threw it away in the second half.
00:15:19And look.
00:15:19There's so much criticism of the system.
00:15:22Or the tactics.
00:15:23Or the manager.
00:15:24But I know you think.
00:15:26Or you both think here.
00:15:27Sometimes the individual has to take the responsibility.
00:15:29Today for sure.
00:15:30I've been a big critic of the system.
00:15:32I don't think it suited them.
00:15:33And I'm still not sure about it.
00:15:35Today.
00:15:36That wasn't in question.
00:15:37Or why Burnley got back in the game.
00:15:39Excuse me.
00:15:40The first goal.
00:15:42Was poor communication.
00:15:44Ill discipline at the back.
00:15:46In terms of organisation.
00:15:47And that's on the players.
00:15:49Ruben Amrum can only do so much.
00:15:51Look.
00:15:51Desire to get back in.
00:15:52There's eight back in their own half.
00:15:54All running back to get back in position.
00:15:56To help their teammates.
00:15:58De Ligt's one of the three.
00:16:00He follows Foster out.
00:16:01Who makes the run.
00:16:02Right decision.
00:16:03Don't try and play him offside there.
00:16:04Dallow has now switched position with him.
00:16:06Now that's okay.
00:16:08Because they're still in a good shape.
00:16:10Now this is where the problem starts.
00:16:11You can see the two men on the right.
00:16:13Foster.
00:16:14De Ligt.
00:16:15And Dallow.
00:16:16Confused.
00:16:18De Ligt is saying to Dallow.
00:16:19Get yourself back out there.
00:16:20Because he doesn't want to be out there.
00:16:21Of course.
00:16:21He's a centre defender.
00:16:23Dallow going.
00:16:24I'm not sure what you want me to do.
00:16:25What day is it?
00:16:27Too late.
00:16:27Poor communication.
00:16:28Now not only does Dallow not get out there.
00:16:30De Ligt lets Foster go.
00:16:32Now he needs Shaw to help him out.
00:16:33Because he's switched off.
00:16:34Just for that second.
00:16:35It's only a millisecond.
00:16:37It's a beautiful ball.
00:16:38But there you've got two centre-halves.
00:16:39Marking no one.
00:16:40And Dallow's 15 yards off the cross.
00:16:42And Danny, I think for me, this sums it up.
00:16:44I think this is from a long throw.
00:16:46Carl Walker long throw.
00:16:47Casemiro's job is to stop the flick on.
00:16:49Bruno Fernandes is probably doing two jobs.
00:16:51Maybe marking the players on the edge of the box.
00:16:53But the most important thing is communication, organisation.
00:16:57Especially between them three centre-halves and your goalkeeper.
00:17:00Knowing where your players are.
00:17:01Being ready for the second balls in the drop-down.
00:17:03And being first to it.
00:17:04And that's Burnley's equaliser.
00:17:06And that could have changed the game for Man United in the long run.
00:17:08So you have sympathy for him in those situations?
00:17:11I do.
00:17:12Yeah.
00:17:12They're international players.
00:17:14Individual players, I think.
00:17:15Experienced players played a lot of football.
00:17:17I think in their moments where you can really control situations,
00:17:21they need to be better.
00:17:22You've just kind of argued with yourself, haven't you there?
00:17:24I enjoy that.
00:17:25I know.
00:17:26Do you know what?
00:17:28This is the second show I've done.
00:17:29Yeah.
00:17:30And I'm praising United again.
00:17:31Because also I've got to say,
00:17:33when you go 2-2 at home and the crowd get a bit deflated,
00:17:36they win again.
00:17:36You know, they really pushed on and they got the winner at the end.
00:17:39So, just let's leave it at that.
00:17:41All right.
00:17:41I mean, if there's one pundit who's going to praise United,
00:17:43you'd be near the bottom of my list.
00:17:45If there's one pundit who's going to argue with themselves,
00:17:47you're right at the very top of that list.
00:17:49All right.
00:17:49Wolves welcomed Everton,
00:17:50having lost their first two in the Premier League.
00:17:53James Fielden was at Molineux.
00:17:56Wolves aren't helped by the absence of star striker JΓΌrgen Strand-Larsen,
00:18:00who Newcastle have had two bids rejected for.
00:18:02With the club adamant he's not for sale.
00:18:04These two sides have mustered the fewest shots between them
00:18:06over the opening two weeks of the season,
00:18:08so it might not be a goal-filled encounter.
00:18:11Strand-Larsen is here,
00:18:12but he's nursing an ongoing Achilles injury,
00:18:14so Hwang starts.
00:18:16Buenos Santiago and Hugo also come in.
00:18:18Andre and speedster Jackson Shachua also start.
00:18:22Captain Totti Gomez returns from suspension.
00:18:24New signing Ladislav Krejci is among the subs.
00:18:26David Moyes gives Vitaly Michalenko his first league appearance of a season
00:18:31in place of Tim Iragunum,
00:18:33while Beto comes in for Tierno Barry as he rotates his strikers.
00:18:37Winger Tyler Dibling is on the bench
00:18:39after completing his Β£30 million deal from Southampton
00:18:41and made his debut in midweek.
00:18:46A bit of a damp afternoon in the West Midlands.
00:18:49Wolves looking for their first league win of a season
00:18:51after beating West Ham here in midweek.
00:18:54Everton looking to make it three wins in a row.
00:18:59This period of Everton pressure.
00:19:01He's staying on here.
00:19:04He's eventually trying to find a way out,
00:19:05but here's Illiman and Jai.
00:19:08He's beaten a couple of players,
00:19:09Illiman and Jai.
00:19:12Nikolenko.
00:19:14Far side is Greenleash across the walls.
00:19:16Beto!
00:19:17What a start for Everton.
00:19:25David Moyes rotating his strikers today.
00:19:29And then number nine justifies that decision.
00:19:34And the optimism around the top is continuing here.
00:19:38Nikolenko with an unchallenged cross.
00:19:40Grealish with a great nod over.
00:19:43And Beto maybe just onside.
00:19:44Perfectly timed runs
00:19:46by both Grealish and Beto.
00:19:49The two linking up superbly.
00:19:55Reported bids of 50 and 55 million
00:19:57have been rejected for Wolves striker
00:19:59JΓΌrgen Strand Larsson
00:20:00in the last couple of weeks.
00:20:03Certainly enjoying himself today,
00:20:04but the Wolves fans would prefer him to be on the field.
00:20:07He does have a slight injury that he's managing.
00:20:09JΓΌrgen Strand Larsson
00:20:10having to use other options.
00:20:11Nice hit by Chachua.
00:20:18Munetsi.
00:20:20Looked early towards Hwang!
00:20:21Oh, that's an excellent goal!
00:20:27It's been a troubled couple of weeks for Hwang Hee-chan.
00:20:31The very sad loss of his grandfather
00:20:33who meant so much to him.
00:20:34He missed a penalty here in midweek.
00:20:36And he's back on target now.
00:20:39The goal, really, the Wolves had no right to score.
00:20:41Quick thinking by Munetsi.
00:20:43The bend on that ball was perfect.
00:20:45As was Hwang's finish.
00:20:47Someone had to fill the boots of JΓΌrgen Strand Larsson.
00:20:50Hwang has done that.
00:20:51He looks for that quick release again.
00:21:06Gaye misses it.
00:21:08Mikolenko doesn't.
00:21:10The Wolves go from one end of the field
00:21:11to the other in double quick time
00:21:13and win a corner.
00:21:14Their first of the game.
00:21:15Aries.
00:21:23Flicked by Santiago Bueno.
00:21:24And hooked over the top by Agbadoo.
00:21:29Wolves coming close to a second.
00:21:34Grealish.
00:21:37Chachua facing him.
00:21:39Deewsbury Hall.
00:21:40Great return to Grealish!
00:21:41Stopped by Saar.
00:21:42Well, Plenty would have backed Jack Grealish
00:21:47to convert there.
00:21:48Went through on goal.
00:21:52Andre.
00:21:54Grealish tucks it back in.
00:21:56Up by Santiago Bueno.
00:21:57Deewsbury Hall.
00:21:58Grealish.
00:22:00Deewsbury Hall.
00:22:01Lovely interchange.
00:22:02Beto's there.
00:22:02And Jai!
00:22:05Well, Everton got there in the end.
00:22:07And they lead once again at Molineux.
00:22:09Two and two for Illiman and Jai.
00:22:13After he netted the opener against Brighton last Sunday.
00:22:20Grealish with a lovely ball in to Deewsbury Hall.
00:22:24Beto let it go.
00:22:26And Jai with the simple finish.
00:22:29Great creativity there for Everton in such tight spaces.
00:22:32He enjoyed that.
00:22:39Everton leading.
00:22:40What they could do with another?
00:22:43Jati Gomez tangling there with Deewsbury Hall.
00:22:46Andre caught in possession.
00:22:48Everton have five in this attack all of a sudden.
00:22:51Beto leaves it.
00:22:52Gay has to score.
00:22:53Blocks.
00:22:54And Jai!
00:22:55Goal!
00:22:56Offside.
00:22:57It doesn't count.
00:22:58Well, nearly a stunning start to the second half for Everton.
00:23:03Denied by the offside flag of Lee Betts on the far side.
00:23:08Gay shot initially there.
00:23:09And Jai in an offside position.
00:23:11And it was his touch after that.
00:23:13Which means this goal will not stand.
00:23:16A slight delay there as they were checking for a potential handball.
00:23:20But it has been checked and cleared.
00:23:28Grealish.
00:23:29Everton have movement again here.
00:23:31Deewsbury Hall!
00:23:32Oh, that's a great goal!
00:23:35Everton extend their lead.
00:23:38And David Moyes' side starting to pull away.
00:23:41Warps all over the place defensively.
00:23:44It wasn't great there from Agpadu to Chatuar in the first place.
00:23:47Grealish in all kinds of space.
00:23:50Certainly chipping in with the assist.
00:23:52That's now four in his last two games.
00:23:56And Deewsbury Hall there got the height to beat Jose Sarr.
00:23:59And it always looks that little bit better when it goes in off the woodwork.
00:24:04Deewsbury Hall with his first goal for Everton.
00:24:08And one to save her.
00:24:09Here's Lopez.
00:24:17A first chance for him to express himself.
00:24:22Still Lopez looking left.
00:24:24Finding Hugo Bueno.
00:24:27Bueno goes down.
00:24:29No foul.
00:24:30Bell guards.
00:24:31The challenge on Hugo Bueno has been checked and cleared by VAR Craig Pawson.
00:24:38Let's have another look here.
00:24:40Down on the chest.
00:24:41Back inside.
00:24:42Against Njai.
00:24:44This angle might be a bit more telling.
00:24:47There was certainly contact between the two.
00:24:49But was it enough for a foul?
00:24:50The referee Michael Oliver deciding not.
00:24:52When that's he.
00:24:58Kalejic.
00:24:59Just off the bench and getting involved for the first time.
00:25:02David Muller-Wolf in towards Rodrigo Gomez.
00:25:05Who certainly makes things interesting.
00:25:08A scorer here in the cup on Tuesday.
00:25:11The Portuguese on target again.
00:25:15Everton had been looking so comfortable.
00:25:18But they might be in for a nervy finish now.
00:25:20And the vast majority of Molyneux wondering if this game might not be done.
00:25:27Just over halfway through at a time.
00:25:30Two minutes to go.
00:25:31Jean-Ric de Bell guard can hit them and does.
00:25:34Rodrigo Gomez wide.
00:25:37And that surely is Wolves' last chance.
00:25:41Well he's made a great impact off the bench Rodrigo Gomez.
00:25:46He scored the goal to pull Wolves back into this.
00:25:49But on his weaker left side couldn't hit the target.
00:25:55Everton with back-to-back wins.
00:25:57And who knows what this season has in store for them.
00:26:01They had to ride their luck here at Molyneux in the end as David Moy's side held on.
00:26:05But for Wolves three successive defeats.
00:26:08And an important few days for them in the transfer window.
00:26:12Everton looking up.
00:26:13Things are looking bright for that half of Merseyside.
00:26:16It's finished at Molyneux.
00:26:18Wolves two, Everton three.
00:26:21We started the game great.
00:26:22Got an early goal.
00:26:24Wolves had their moments as well.
00:26:25But I thought we had played well.
00:26:27We limited them to few opportunities.
00:26:30But hey, like any away win in the Premier League I think is a really good win.
00:26:33We could and we should be better.
00:26:36Cannot commit this kind of mistake.
00:26:39Because every time we commit a mistake they punish us with a goal.
00:26:45And we are conceding.
00:26:47We are offering goals.
00:26:48And it's difficult.
00:26:49It's difficult when, you know, because we face a strong team.
00:26:53I think they are stronger than the last season.
00:26:56And you cannot, you must be in your best level to face Everton.
00:27:02Jack Grealish has now got four assists in two games for you.
00:27:04What specific instructions have you given to him to get the best out of him?
00:27:08I'm not taking any credit for how Jack Grealish is doing.
00:27:11All I can do is put him out.
00:27:12But let me tell you, he's making a big difference.
00:27:14And he's helped us greatly in lots of ways.
00:27:16JΓΌrgen Strand-Larsen was here today, out injured.
00:27:19From the chairman, Jeff Shee, have you been told that he will definitely be here on Tuesday?
00:27:23We need to bring more players, not to sell players, you understand?
00:27:27We need more solutions, not to sell the best players.
00:27:32So you're confident he will be here on Tuesday?
00:27:33I hope so.
00:27:35What can the target be for this side this season, given what you've seen so far?
00:27:38I think a couple of Everton, we always want to be challenged for Europe.
00:27:41I don't know if we can do it.
00:27:42I don't know if we're good enough to do that.
00:27:44We haven't certainly been in over recent years.
00:27:46But no point in me coming on here and saying I just want to avoid relegation.
00:27:50We'll come on to David Moyes in just a moment.
00:27:52But you've praised United, and now you've got to praise Everton.
00:27:56This night's getting worse.
00:27:57Do you know what?
00:27:58I usually enjoy working with you as well.
00:28:02I have to be honest, though.
00:28:03I thoroughly enjoyed watching that forward line.
00:28:07Creative, all brave, getting on the ball, caused Wolves all sorts of problems.
00:28:12And the Evertonians must be delighted to see this.
00:28:15It's not just Jack.
00:28:18I mean, Dewsbury Hall had his best game today by a mile.
00:28:21He was terrific.
00:28:21And Diye, who's already there, obviously, but he's been brilliant since the minute he got to Everton.
00:28:26And Beto was a handful.
00:28:27What I love about this particular move is the variation and the rotation in the positions.
00:28:33And Diye's normally on the right.
00:28:34He's now on the left.
00:28:35Dewsbury Hall's over there as well.
00:28:36Jack's moved into the ten.
00:28:39It's a lovely little diagonal from Michalenko.
00:28:41And Jack heads it to the back post.
00:28:43Terrific, I don't beto, puts it in.
00:28:45And that gave them the confidence.
00:28:46Then all of a sudden, they're all demanding the ball.
00:28:49They're all getting on it.
00:28:51And when good players come together, the quality grows through the group and the confidence.
00:28:58Because the boys behind them in midfield and defence, they know they're not going to have to do as much.
00:29:02Because they've got this creative force.
00:29:04They win it back here.
00:29:05Jack gets himself into a good position.
00:29:08And this is where Dewsbury Hall's really clever.
00:29:11Those little intricate passes.
00:29:13And this one here, brilliant pullback.
00:29:15And where should your other wide men be?
00:29:17Always on the back post, looking for a simple tap-in.
00:29:19And the second half, they didn't sit back.
00:29:21You know, David Moyes in the past, his teams have been guilty of sitting back on leads or, you know, not going for it.
00:29:27They came out the second half with the same intent.
00:29:29This goal was disallowed.
00:29:30Again, good movement.
00:29:31And then when they get this one, Jack, oceans to run into, problems for Wolves.
00:29:39Can't let players of this quality have that much space.
00:29:41And that's a brilliant finish.
00:29:42But look at this.
00:29:43The cuteness of the pass makes it look easy.
00:29:45The little ding to avoid it being intercepted.
00:29:47And as I said, Dewsbury Hall deserves great credit as well because I thought he was the best player on the pitch.
00:29:53But well done, Jack.
00:29:53It's great to see him playing again.
00:29:55David Moyes talked about, and you can see, that's early Harlem, what he put on social media earlier, celebrating his former teammate, Jack Grealish.
00:30:03David Moyes was said after this.
00:30:05He's not going to come on here and say, oh, it's just about avoiding relegation.
00:30:08There seems to be a freedom about David Moyes since going back to the club.
00:30:14Would you agree?
00:30:15There definitely seems to be a lot of different energy.
00:30:17I think a new stadium, a little bit of put that last season behind them, but also the type of players that they brought to the club.
00:30:24Danny's mentioned Dewsbury Hall.
00:30:25You've got Grealish.
00:30:26They've signed Tyler Diblin in the week.
00:30:27They're exciting players.
00:30:29And as an Evertonian and as Everton fan, I think you should be so excited about how the team's going to play.
00:30:34So I think as though David Moyes probably got a little bit more confidence in his team because he has them players that have got technically gifted, but also full of energy and running.
00:30:41And allowed them to use their own intelligence to work out where they need to be.
00:30:46Less rigid than David Moyes' teams of old.
00:30:48But to be fair to Moyes, the rigidity of some of his old teams is because he hasn't got the same quality he's got in this.
00:30:54So he's been backed in the market.
00:30:55He's got a great staff behind him as well.
00:30:57But I think it's positive, really positive.
00:31:00Difficult start to the season for Wolves, just quickly.
00:31:03Yeah, it has.
00:31:03And I think going off last season, Chappas, I think Wolves didn't get their first win to the 9th of November.
00:31:08So a slow start again.
00:31:11But I think Victor Pereira was very adamant that he wants more signings.
00:31:15They need more quality, especially when you lose the likes of Cunha and Ait Nuri, which were key players for them last season.
00:31:20Right, next, Chelsea, who put five past West Ham last weekend against Fulham, who've opened their campaign with back-to-back draws.
00:31:28Jonathan Pearce at this one.
00:31:29Rodrigo Munez, who's late Boxing Day winner here, spark wild Fulham celebrations.
00:31:36Their first away victory in 45 years at the Neighbours.
00:31:39They've never won consecutive games at the Bridge, where Chelsea look for their first home goal of the campaign.
00:31:44It's all about comings and goings here.
00:31:47Alejandro Garnaccio is in the stands on the point of joining for Manchester United.
00:31:51Christopher Nkunku has gone to AC Milan for Β£36 million on the pitch.
00:31:55They're again without Cole Palmer because of a groin injury.
00:31:58They're unchanged.
00:31:59Fulham, who've confirmed that Andreas Pereira has left for Palmeiras for Β£10 million,
00:32:03are also unchanged from the 1-0 draw with Manchester United.
00:32:07Sander Berger makes his 100th Premier League appearance.
00:32:09Emil Smith-Rowe and Anthony Robinson are again among the subs.
00:32:12The core group is strong.
00:32:14The squad needs more numbers, though.
00:32:18Difficult to gauge Chelsea's early league form.
00:32:22Couldn't break down Crystal Palace here.
00:32:25They thumped West Ham United, but West Ham were truly awful that day.
00:32:31Through the channel, looking for Dillard.
00:32:32Awkward bounce.
00:32:34Oh, he's pulled his hamstring, I think.
00:32:37This is where he pulled up.
00:32:39Chasing that ball.
00:32:40Oh, immediately grimaced.
00:32:43Felt the back of his thigh.
00:32:45Telltale sign, that is.
00:32:47And that looks like the end of his game.
00:32:50Tyreek George will come on for Chelsea.
00:32:54And Kander O'Garnaccio possibly on his phone to his agent.
00:32:57Has the deal been done?
00:32:59I gather it hasn't been done yet.
00:33:01But the fact that he's here and is on camera would suggest that it's going to go through imminently.
00:33:09Enzo Fernandes now wide to Pedro Neto.
00:33:12Hasn't got going yet.
00:33:14Looks for George.
00:33:15Didn't stick with him.
00:33:16And young King did very well.
00:33:20So too did Muniz.
00:33:21And King's up and running.
00:33:22And he's onside.
00:33:23And he has pace to get away here.
00:33:25Tosin trying to catch him.
00:33:26Here's King for Fulham.
00:33:27And they lead 1-0.
00:33:2920 minutes gone.
00:33:30Lovely counter-attack.
00:33:33Looks onside to me.
00:33:34VAR checking.
00:33:36Chalbert injured further up the pitch.
00:33:38That's being checked for a possible foul.
00:33:44And once they'd held it up through Muniz and played it, it was a lovely ball up, wasn't it?
00:33:50Away he went.
00:33:51There's the composure to step inside.
00:33:53Tosin.
00:33:55Is that a clear and obvious mistake by the referee?
00:33:59Where can he put his foot as he spins away?
00:34:01As he's landing.
00:34:02Where else can he put his foot?
00:34:04There's a spin that took him into that position.
00:34:07But he's made contact with the top of the foot.
00:34:09And that's why I think the referee will disallow this goal.
00:34:15After a review.
00:34:16Fulham 9.
00:34:18Commits a careless challenge.
00:34:20Stands on the foot.
00:34:22For the Chelsea defender.
00:34:23That is highly, highly contentious.
00:34:26This will have a go.
00:34:28We restart with a Chelsea free pick.
00:34:30I'll tell you what.
00:34:31Let's make it a no-contact sport.
00:34:33Let's roll that tackling completely.
00:34:36Many people will think the game is gone.
00:34:46Neto.
00:34:47Can he get between the gap there?
00:34:49He's trying to.
00:34:51Enter Fernandes.
00:34:53Wings in Charaba with the hit.
00:34:55Regressively for Chelsea.
00:35:06It's a dangerous corner in.
00:35:08Flicked on at the near post.
00:35:10And the shot comes eventually to George and his block.
00:35:16Percedo with the first effort.
00:35:18Came out the try with George.
00:35:19In the ninth minute of stoppage time.
00:35:27It's in.
00:35:30Chelsea leaving.
00:35:31Char Pedro with it.
00:35:33Nine minutes into stoppage time.
00:35:34And isn't that just like football.
00:35:37Fulham won here on Boxing Day.
00:35:39So late on in the second half.
00:35:41And here they fume.
00:35:43As eight minutes were allotted for stoppage time.
00:35:45And we played more than that.
00:35:48But Pedro's run at the start of his Chelsea career continues.
00:35:53Five goals now.
00:35:54In six games.
00:35:55And Chelsea end the first half with the lead.
00:36:01And Fulham are incandescent.
00:36:11Another gusto for Chelsea.
00:36:15Momentum stilts.
00:36:18He comes across by Charaba.
00:36:20Char Pedro strong enough there against Anderson.
00:36:24A little break to Casado.
00:36:26Trouble of Chalaba with the ball in.
00:36:28Sessegnon with the block.
00:36:30Big appeals for handball by Chelsea fans.
00:36:32And driven wide.
00:36:34They say they're claiming a corner that's not going to come.
00:36:37Well the arm was outstretched here by Sessegnon.
00:36:41But in the build up.
00:36:42I'm pretty sure there was a contentious challenge by Char Pedro.
00:36:46Up in the air it goes.
00:36:47Now watch this.
00:36:48He bundles into Anderson.
00:36:50Without making any attempt to play the ball.
00:36:53No foul is given.
00:36:54But it is being checked.
00:36:56Then it bounces up and hits him on the hand.
00:37:00In the build up.
00:37:01Before this incident involving Sessegnon.
00:37:06After review.
00:37:08Fulham 30.
00:37:09Makes his body up naturally bigger.
00:37:12By walking across.
00:37:13The result is extended away from his body.
00:37:16Therefore my final decision is penalty kick.
00:37:18So he's ignored the fact there might have been a foul in the build up.
00:37:22And gave the penalty against Sessegnon.
00:37:25Which I thought he was always going to give.
00:37:26Enzo Fernandes will take the penalty against West Ham.
00:37:33And gets another straight down the middle.
00:37:39Kyle took it in.
00:37:4155 minutes long.
00:37:42Chelsea 2.
00:37:43Fulham 0.
00:37:43Well that will make him feel a lot better.
00:37:48Because he hasn't had the best of games.
00:37:51But that's 18 in 118 games.
00:37:54From by and large in defensive midfield position.
00:37:57Fulham 2-0 out.
00:38:00What do they have in the tank?
00:38:03And this.
00:38:06Finds Torori.
00:38:08KukorΓ© ahead of him.
00:38:12Has to go for the dead ball line.
00:38:14Pulled out a good cross at the end of it.
00:38:16And that's a corner for Fulham.
00:38:21So Lukic will take this corner kick.
00:38:23There's a shove there by KukorΓ©.
00:38:31On him and it's a bottom of the line.
00:38:34So close here Fulham for getting back into the game.
00:38:38Stays 2-0 to Chelsea.
00:38:39On a contentious afternoon.
00:38:41In the West London derby.
00:38:43Everybody's shocked.
00:38:44Shocked in our dressing room.
00:38:46Our fans.
00:38:47People that enjoy football.
00:38:49People that was watching on TV.
00:38:51Everybody's shocked what's happened this afternoon.
00:38:53When they give them eight minutes of exercise time.
00:38:56And the game should be stopped in that moment.
00:38:58And they give another chance for them.
00:38:59Of course the penalty.
00:39:00I think it's another shocking decision.
00:39:02Because VAR didn't see a handball from JoΓ£o Pedro.
00:39:05And the stamp more clear probably on Alexi Obi before the penalty.
00:39:09It's difficult to understand.
00:39:10But okay.
00:39:10They are the decisions.
00:39:12Let's move on and let's go for the next game.
00:39:14Big decision.
00:39:15To disallow the Fulham first half goal.
00:39:17How did you see that?
00:39:18I watched a few times already.
00:39:20For me it's quite clear that it's foul.
00:39:22But I can understand that from their point of view it's not foul.
00:39:27Garnaccio was sitting in the stands watching on.
00:39:29All of a sudden you've got all these brilliant players around you.
00:39:32How does that feel?
00:39:33Oh yeah.
00:39:34Garnaccio is a brilliant player.
00:39:36Hopefully he can help us in the next games.
00:39:39And we are very welcome to him.
00:39:41And we'll see next game if he can be in the squad.
00:39:45Are you happy now?
00:39:45Or do you want another one in?
00:39:47Anyone else in by Monday?
00:39:49I have been always happy.
00:39:51Since I joined the club.
00:39:53So I don't have any doubt.
00:39:56Well they might have a player staying rather than coming in.
00:39:59But we'll come to that in just a moment.
00:40:00Look.
00:40:01Sometimes you get games where we just have to look at decisions.
00:40:04There's no tactical analysis.
00:40:06There's no celebrating great goals.
00:40:07And a lot of people seem furious with this decision.
00:40:12Whether they're connected with Fulham or not.
00:40:14Yeah this ain't about my connection with Fulham.
00:40:16It's my love of the game and what's happening to it.
00:40:19I mean I don't remember seeing a worse decision than this one.
00:40:24Or a referee as well because he has the chance to.
00:40:26It's a brilliant goal.
00:40:28It's a brilliant goal.
00:40:29Now what they're saying is it's a careless challenge.
00:40:31Munez doesn't make a challenge.
00:40:32He uses a great bit of skill.
00:40:34Maradona turn whatever you want to call it.
00:40:35So he's not making a challenge.
00:40:36He's used the skill and he's planting his foot after this.
00:40:39There's no challenge from him.
00:40:40As Jonathan said where else can he put his foot?
00:40:42Yeah the challenge is from Chalibur.
00:40:43So for some reason VAR decides to get involved.
00:40:46I don't know why.
00:40:47It seemed ridiculous while I was watching it live.
00:40:49And of course then they go and score in the injury time that's added on because of that.
00:40:55But it's a complete lack of understanding.
00:40:56It doesn't matter whether you've played the game or not.
00:40:58Everyone can see that's a bit of skill.
00:41:00And the referee had a wonderful opportunity when he got called to the screen for once to go.
00:41:05Actually no.
00:41:06Come on.
00:41:07That's absolutely fine.
00:41:08Let's move on.
00:41:09And he didn't.
00:41:11And that's the bit that got me.
00:41:12That is really the astonishing bit in all of it.
00:41:15These are experienced guys who've been doing it a long time now.
00:41:18I don't.
00:41:19They've got to do better.
00:41:21They have to do better.
00:41:23Because that is one of the work.
00:41:24That's an easy easy decision to get right.
00:41:27And it's really poor from them.
00:41:28And I hope to God there's an apology.
00:41:30If I'd have sent you to the screen, you'd have gone, I'm guessing.
00:41:34Are you having a laugh?
00:41:35You've been drinking.
00:41:35Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:41:36I'd be thinking, why have you sent us 50 metres to look at that?
00:41:39And I think we all had the same reaction when we were watching the game.
00:41:41We were saying, OK, he's just going to overturn.
00:41:43This has got a great goal that's going to be.
00:41:44Josh King, first goal for Fulham in the Premier League.
00:41:48Young boy, spoiling that moment.
00:41:50And we were just like, I can't believe that's actually happened.
00:41:52But the other thing is as well, in a game of that enormity, a derby like that,
00:41:57the momentum in the game changes because the fans get anxious.
00:41:59They're 1-0 down.
00:42:00Fulham's confidence grows.
00:42:02It was a massive moment in the game.
00:42:03And then, as you say, it was compounded.
00:42:05Eight minutes of stoppage time were added.
00:42:08That's how Pedro Header came in the ninth minute.
00:42:09Look, it's always a minimum amount of time added.
00:42:11Marco Silva said to radio afterwards that they spooled through that first half
00:42:15and couldn't work out the injury time and couldn't work out why it went from eight to nine.
00:42:20And then they also got questions about the penalty that Chelsea were awarded.
00:42:24Do you think this is more understandable from Chelsea's point of view that it was awarded?
00:42:28Yeah, more understandable because I think Fulham were brilliant in this game.
00:42:32They played really well against Chelsea.
00:42:34Joe Pedro was a nuisance.
00:42:36And there's two or three things that we can really focus on in this moment.
00:42:39But without a doubt, Ryan Session was unbelievable for Fulham.
00:42:43But at this moment, when you turn your back and you lift your hands in the end,
00:42:46you can't really complain with that decision.
00:42:47So that's handball for you?
00:42:48Yeah, definitely.
00:42:48Right.
00:42:49OK.
00:42:50Now, is that a foul?
00:42:51No.
00:42:52I think that's harsh if you give that as a foul.
00:42:54OK.
00:42:54For being honest, you've got to be stronger.
00:42:55Anderson needs to be stronger against Joe Pedro.
00:42:57Is that a handball?
00:42:58This is the one where I'm a bit like 50-50 on whether it's a handball.
00:43:02I don't think it's intentional.
00:43:03But I think here, Alex Awobi needs to be stronger in that tackle.
00:43:07I think you need to really go for the ball.
00:43:08You need to defend properly.
00:43:10But no doubt in my mind that that's handball.
00:43:13As soon as Ryan Session turns his back, puts his hand up and stops the cross,
00:43:18I think there's no complaining with that decision.
00:43:20No.
00:43:20I go as far as, look, this is the strange thing.
00:43:23The officials have got four minor things, four things in that sequence we've seen correct.
00:43:29All of them, I think.
00:43:30It's a penalty.
00:43:31The push wasn't nothing.
00:43:31It was a little handball, kicked it at him a yard away.
00:43:34Shouldn't be given.
00:43:35Not a stamp on it, were you?
00:43:36Not a stamp.
00:43:36No.
00:43:37Right.
00:43:37No, I don't think so.
00:43:38So they've got four minor things right in quick succession in a pressurised situation.
00:43:43The easiest one of the lot, they've taken the longest to try and sort out and got it wrong.
00:43:48The other thing, and this is what I said at the end of the match,
00:43:51they might have a player staying rather than bringing someone in.
00:43:54Chelsea, Bayern Munich this evening have confirmed that their loan deal for Nicholas Jackson has collapsed.
00:44:00We think this is down to Liam de Lapp's injury reports.
00:44:03He could be out for eight weeks.
00:44:05So Bayern's sporting director has said,
00:44:07Chelsea have informed us that they would like the player back after we'd reached agreement yesterday.
00:44:12So the situation is that the boy is in Munich and we have to send him back.
00:44:16Jackson's agent had earlier insisted on social media that the player wasn't returning to Chelsea,
00:44:22saying the plane doesn't go backwards.
00:44:26It's a bit of a mess, that, because I'm guessing Nicholas Jackson doesn't want to go back and wants to be at Bayern.
00:44:31And also, Mark, he's not been involved in the squad since the beginning of the season.
00:44:34And the intention for Chelsea is not to have him.
00:44:36But now all of a sudden, because Liam de Lapp's injured, you want him back.
00:44:39It's a bad decision from Chelsea's perspective.
00:44:41Yeah, it's bad planning because you know that potentially that injury could have happened
00:44:44and you also have to have that backup strike already.
00:44:46But for Nicholas Jackson, you must be really disappointed.
00:44:49Because actually you're saying just come back for six to eight weeks.
00:44:52Yeah.
00:44:53And they've got plenty of players who can fill the role for that short period of time.
00:44:55I feel for Jackson.
00:44:56Really do.
00:44:57Right.
00:44:58Right, to the Stadium of Light, a first top-flight meeting between Sunderland and Brentford since 1947.
00:45:04Vicky Sparks was there.
00:45:07Very good.
00:45:08The 940th different fixtures to be played in the Premier League,
00:45:13as Sunderland bid to win their opening two home games of a Premier League campaign
00:45:18for only the second time in their history.
00:45:22Having made his Sunderland bow in the League Cup, lost to Huddersfield,
00:45:25Nordi Michieli makes his career Premier League debut into the injured Zambalas.
00:45:31And there's a first Premier League start for Enzo Lefeuille as a little dingbrah dropped out.
00:45:36Brentford also made a host of alterations for their Cup win over Bournemouth,
00:45:40but are unchanged from their league victory over Aston Villa,
00:45:43as Jordan Henderson returns to his boyhood club,
00:45:46with want-away Johan Witter left out of the squad again.
00:45:55And Chielo with a long throw.
00:45:58Flicked up and behind.
00:46:01And Sunderland corner.
00:46:05Miguel Thiago doing his defensive duties.
00:46:11Sunderland crowding that far post.
00:46:14That's where the ball goes to.
00:46:15Ooh, big shout for handball against Coyote.
00:46:18Riffery Anthony Taylor unmoved.
00:46:20Sunderland keeping it alive.
00:46:21Coyote there again!
00:46:24And now, the appeals really do start for handball.
00:46:27After that shot was blazed over.
00:46:31And there is that shout against Coyote.
00:46:34But the A.R. very happy with that on-field decision.
00:46:39Collins.
00:46:42It's not a bad ball either.
00:46:44Flag stays down.
00:46:45It's Tango Watara.
00:46:47It's 1-0 Brentford!
00:46:51And their club record signing does it again.
00:46:55Well, Sunderland asking the question about offside.
00:46:57And it does look like he might be slightly off.
00:47:02It is tight.
00:47:05And there we go.
00:47:07It is offside.
00:47:11And Brentford's lead is ruled out.
00:47:15Well, not too much goalkeeping action for Sunderland's legendary goalkeeper,
00:47:21Jimmy Montgomery, to enjoy so far.
00:47:23Sitting in the stands that has newly been named after him.
00:47:28A true great of this club.
00:47:33And those Demsgaard.
00:47:35Lewis Potter arriving.
00:47:37And they're queuing up for Brentford.
00:47:39And Le Fay behind for the Brentford corner.
00:47:47Demsgaard's delivery.
00:47:49Oh, it's a great one.
00:47:50Play is down all over the place.
00:47:52And eventually, a free-kick is given to Sunderland's.
00:47:58Nathan Collins isn't happy.
00:48:02Well, taking a real chance there.
00:48:05VAR happy.
00:48:06Henderson.
00:48:10Henderson.
00:48:12Happy to drive again.
00:48:16Tayore.
00:48:17Nice ball into Watara.
00:48:19Touch just took it away from him.
00:48:21And Sunderland.
00:48:22Well, concede the corner.
00:48:24Oh, they were shepherding it behind.
00:48:34Rachel, Henderson.
00:48:37Brentford have 2-1-1 here.
00:48:39And Lewis is gone.
00:48:40And Thiago heads over.
00:48:45And the yellow card.
00:48:48Was given to Mandava.
00:48:51And Brentford have been given a penalty.
00:48:54Well, here's Mandava on Collins.
00:49:00And penalty given.
00:49:02And after that very similar incident in the first half,
00:49:06Anthony Taylor has penalised it in the second half.
00:49:12And Brentford have a spot kick.
00:49:13And it will be Sharder to step up and try and take this golden opportunity
00:49:23to put Brentford ahead at the Stadium of Light.
00:49:28It's Sharder.
00:49:29It's saved by Rufus.
00:49:34And celebrations fall around the Stadium of Light.
00:49:40It's not a good penalty from Sharder.
00:49:42And as soon as Rufus read it,
00:49:46he would back himself to make that save.
00:49:55Brentford's still pushing.
00:49:59Watara.
00:50:02Made up by terms guard.
00:50:03Coyote.
00:50:05Thiago!
00:50:09And Brentford are in front.
00:50:12And Igor Thiago's fabulous form this season continues.
00:50:18He's got three goals now in four games this season.
00:50:23Just finds that little pocket of space.
00:50:26Sunderland will be so frustrated with that defending.
00:50:30Sunderland's looking to hit back immediately.
00:50:49And they've won a free kick.
00:50:50Goffet down under the challenge.
00:50:56Two of them had a go.
00:51:02Sheen's delivery.
00:51:04It was a dangerous one.
00:51:05And Collins takes the congratulations of his teammates.
00:51:14Sunderland corner.
00:51:15Again, Sunderland overloading the far post.
00:51:20And I hope it's something on it.
00:51:22Penalty given.
00:51:25Well, a spot kick at one end.
00:51:27And a spot kick at the other.
00:51:30Henry grappling with Diara.
00:51:33It's not a dissimilar situation.
00:51:37How much holding was there compared to the Brentford penalty.
00:51:41VAR are happy.
00:51:43They feel it's similar enough.
00:51:45And having already awarded a spot kick at one end.
00:51:48Brittany Taylor pointing to the spot at the other.
00:51:51Enzo Le Fay to level things up at the Stadium of Light.
00:51:59It's Le Fay.
00:52:03It's 1-1.
00:52:05Well, he scored the opening penalty in the shootout defeat to Huddersfield in midweek.
00:52:13And he made no mistake here.
00:52:17Sunderland won.
00:52:18Brentford won.
00:52:21Eight minutes of added time.
00:52:26I can only believe he can go on and win this.
00:52:30Jacker's rather unorthodox ball.
00:52:33Isn't a bad one, Le Fay.
00:52:37Jacker.
00:52:38It's a door!
00:52:48Delirium!
00:52:48And delight at the Stadium of Light!
00:52:56He's onside.
00:52:59It's a good header.
00:53:01Kelleher gets there.
00:53:03But can't keep it out.
00:53:05And Sunderland surely have won it.
00:53:10The first time since the 2001-2002 campaign that Sunderland have won their opening two home games in the Premier League.
00:53:25Yesterday, your partner gives birth to a baby girl and today score a 96-minute winner.
00:53:34Have you ever had a better week in your life?
00:53:36I have no words, you know, I have no words, you know, it's just so amazing.
00:53:40As I say, for me, it feels like I'm still in a dream and but the noise wake me up and make me understand where I am.
00:53:47The fans, yesterday, they were so nice with me, they only congratulate me for my daughter, so I'm just so happy to give them back now the feeling and I hope they're proud of it because I'm proud.
00:53:58Yeah, Wilson is really well connected with the club.
00:54:02Had a happy day yesterday and another one today and he works so hard, he's so committed.
00:54:10I think he deserves to leave this moment.
00:54:13Yeah, big moments in the game, obviously a penalty apiece.
00:54:16Were you happy that both were spot kicks?
00:54:18Not really, I didn't think they were similar.
00:54:19One was a rugby tackle and one was body contact.
00:54:22I haven't seen an angle from behind the goal where it will show a little bit more.
00:54:25I thought we should have had another one in the first half.
00:54:27So, from that point of view, slightly disappointed with the decisions.
00:54:31Obviously, it is only now a few days until the transfer window ends.
00:54:35I'm sure you'll be delighted that we can stop asking you about Johan Wisser, but do you see him still being at the club when the window closes?
00:54:41Yeah, I do, yeah.
00:54:43The stance hasn't changed throughout the whole window.
00:54:45Two days away from the close of it now, thankfully.
00:54:49There's light at the end of the tunnel for me.
00:54:51I don't know.
00:54:54Unless anything's happened today, I expect Johan to be a Brentford player come choosing.
00:54:57Well, Troy Deeney and Rob Green did about 10 minutes on grappling at corners with Gabby last Sunday.
00:55:04We're going to do something similar, though not as long.
00:55:07Keith Andrews thought they were different here.
00:55:09Do you?
00:55:09I think it's important to know that referees are starting to crack down on holding and whether players are looking at the ball.
00:55:17For me, I think Ronaldo here against Collins, I think he's obviously faced his own goal.
00:55:22He's not looking at the ball.
00:55:23He's got two hands on him.
00:55:24So, I can't really argue with that because there's no intention to try and clear the ball and stop them getting it.
00:55:29And similar with Brentford's penalty, Rico Henry came on his soul.
00:55:34But I think as soon as you put two hands round him, I think the referee, it makes it easier for the referee when you actually have that action and you're bringing someone to the floor.
00:55:44And I think maybe if we were still playing Danny, we were maybe thinking it would be really harsh.
00:55:49But the way the game's going this moment in time, they're two penalties.
00:55:52I suppose the difference is Ronaldo is looking away and not following the ball.
00:55:58The thing is, you know the rules they've been told.
00:56:00I actually like the rule, you know.
00:56:02And if it means you get a few soft ones, so be it because it'll cut it out and it's nonsense, isn't it?
00:56:07Mark properly, watch the ball, put your arm up, try and out-jump your man.
00:56:11It's not rocket science.
00:56:12You want to highlight Enzo Lafayette, don't you?
00:56:14I do, Mark, because I think he was absolutely brilliant.
00:56:17I think, for me, he joined Sunderland last season at Christmas time on loan initially.
00:56:22And if the club was to get promoted, he was going to sign.
00:56:25He's become a really important player for Sunderland.
00:56:28First Premier League start for the club, playing on that left-hand side.
00:56:31And for me, he showed all sides of his games.
00:56:34And when you're at the Stadium of Light, I think the fans love nothing more than putting in a big tackle to get the crowd behind them.
00:56:40And we've spoke so much for the last three weeks about how important home form is.
00:56:44And getting the noise behind the lads at the Stadium of Light is so important.
00:56:47But what a fantastic tackle from a left-winger or a number 10 to be able to recover back and do the dirty work for the team.
00:56:54And I thought he was brilliant.
00:56:56He was all over the pitch.
00:56:57And I think that hard work, then you get the rewards.
00:57:00And he gets to show how technically gifted he is.
00:57:02And in the second half, especially on that left-hand side, I thought he started to become Sunderland's main creator.
00:57:09And this is when Wilson Isidore's coming on the pitch.
00:57:11He's putting crosses from that left-hand side.
00:57:13And just this calmness and composure.
00:57:16Sunderland hadn't scored apparently in the last four.
00:57:18So to have that pressure in such a crucial moment in the game to bring it to 1-1.
00:57:23And here, you just tell that Sunderland wanting to get the three points.
00:57:26I think that footwork.
00:57:27But also the ability to allow Xhaka to hit that first time to put it into the goal and for him to score.
00:57:33I think this picture sums it up, Chappers.
00:57:35I think everybody's all millions everywhere.
00:57:37But there's Le Fay on the floor.
00:57:39So tired.
00:57:40But that just shows what an unbelievable game he had in and out of possession.
00:57:45Lovely.
00:57:45And what a week for Wilson Isidore as well with the birth of his daughter.
00:57:49And it was his birthday this week as well.
00:57:50So he has had some week.
00:57:53Right.
00:57:53Four games on tomorrow's match of the day.
00:57:57Pitcher in the game.
00:57:58And it's it.
00:58:00Emphatic.
00:58:01It's Hanson O'Doy.
00:58:04What a call.
00:58:06Oh!
00:58:07Watkins.
00:58:08Match me.
00:58:09He's gone.
00:58:11Start.
00:58:11Scores.
00:58:12Oh!
00:58:13Would you believe it?
00:58:15Neil Correre.
00:58:16She's done really well.
00:58:22Well, that game in Sanfield is one of three Premier League commentaries on BBC Sounds.
00:58:26You also get on 5 Live.
00:58:27In full, the first old firm of the season from Ibrox.
00:58:30Four matches from the Women's Rugby Union World Cup, including Ireland against Spain on BBC Two.
00:58:35Tomorrow, followed by Finals Day in the 100, live from Lourdes.
00:58:39And if you missed the start of the programme, you can watch from the beginning on the iPlayer,
00:58:42where you can also find highlights of each individual Premier League game this season.
00:58:48Next, Thomas Franks Tottenham looking to make it three wins from three when they took on Bournemouth.
00:58:53Steve Wilson.
00:58:53Watch this one.
00:58:54Spurs XI is the same as the one which won at Manchester City last weekend.
00:58:59Few would have anticipated Jed Spence being an England squad member until recently.
00:59:04There was a time he might have struggled for a space in the Tottenham car park, let alone the team.
00:59:09But hard work has paid off.
00:59:11Iriola, whose Bournemouth side went out of the League Cup in midweek, has selected the same side which started their win over Wolves.
00:59:18The last of Adam Smith's two first-team games for Tottenham came almost 13 years ago.
00:59:24It's threaded neatly into Brennan Johnson.
00:59:30Sarr on the overlap here.
00:59:31Sarr's ball in and it's well saved.
00:59:36Well, Papsar has scored a third of his career Premier League goals against Bournemouth.
00:59:43Might have been a slightly mixed start to this season, but Bournemouth have only actually lost three of their last 14 Premier League games away from home.
00:59:54Scott, Sennesse, that's a nice ball into Evan Nielsen, he's onside, deflected and in.
01:00:07Paul Muthre in front.
01:00:13Evan Nielsen, big deflection on it, certainly helped, but it was nicely worked.
01:00:24That's a lovely ball into a good run by Evan Nielsen.
01:00:28It's a pretty big deflection, which didn't help Vicario, but Tottenham have conceded a league goal for the first time this season.
01:00:37Evan Nielsen, and Evan Nielsen's name is on it, despite the big deflection.
01:00:46Here's Brooks.
01:00:48Oh, lovely ball outside of the boot, and Semenya should have made it too.
01:00:53It's an exceptional ball in by Brooks.
01:00:57He knows, and Semenya will know.
01:00:59And you'd expect Semenya to score with that.
01:01:10Scott.
01:01:11Oh, that's going to be a free kick.
01:01:1620 played, Bournemouth in front.
01:01:18Bournemouth free kick in front of every Tottenham player.
01:01:22David Brooks to deliver, with a bit of pace, trying to catch out Vicario.
01:01:31To Bournemouth corner.
01:01:34Well, Vicario had given himself enough scope to get back to that near post.
01:01:40And the resulting corner.
01:01:42Glanced on, and glanced over by Brooks.
01:01:51Well, another Bournemouth opportunity.
01:01:53And they'll feel now that 1-0 is really the minimum they deserve from the first 21 minutes.
01:02:02Nice from Evan Nielsen.
01:02:03Semenya has done well to get there.
01:02:05And finds Tavernier.
01:02:07Big chance.
01:02:08Good block.
01:02:09Van de Ven in the way.
01:02:11And another Bournemouth chance.
01:02:14Semenya did really well.
01:02:16As did Van de Ven and Spence.
01:02:22Sanessi's forward ball into the run of Tavernier.
01:02:24Nodded on in the direction of Semenya, who got there.
01:02:28And that's a very, very good save by Vicario.
01:02:30I have to say that Jao Palinia looked favourite to this, but Semenya beat him to it.
01:02:37And hit it beautifully.
01:02:39Good save.
01:02:41Plenty to ponder for Thomas Frank.
01:02:47Semenya, lovely first touch.
01:02:53Truffaut.
01:02:56Form of throwing.
01:03:00In goes that throw.
01:03:05Vicario stretching to get there.
01:03:07And they'll have a look at that.
01:03:09Mohamed Koudis.
01:03:10It's come to Evan Nielsen.
01:03:12Vicario with the block.
01:03:14And off the crossbar from Brooks.
01:03:16And Diakite can't get there.
01:03:20Semenya shot his charge down.
01:03:23Well, there was a challenge by Mohamed Koudis on Markov Sanessi.
01:03:27The video assistant referee is John Brooks.
01:03:32They have had a look at Koudis on Sanessi.
01:03:37And he says there's no foul.
01:03:40Well, all you can say is, I've seen him given.
01:03:44And had it been given, I don't think VAR would have overturned it.
01:03:47Evan Nielsen.
01:03:55Brooks is in space in the middle.
01:03:58Brooks got the shot away.
01:03:59Vicario saves.
01:04:02How is it only 1-0?
01:04:03They've created so many chances.
01:04:14Vicario.
01:04:17Given away.
01:04:18Paulie.
01:04:19Adams for Christy.
01:04:21Christy into a little gap.
01:04:23Oh, the flick off Romero.
01:04:24And side netting from Tavernier.
01:04:30Really poor.
01:04:32From Vicario.
01:04:33Straight to Adams.
01:04:34Christy did well.
01:04:36The angle was difficult for Tavernier.
01:04:40Just past the midway point of the second half.
01:04:43Richarlison now.
01:04:44And Bergwahl.
01:04:45Shooting chance.
01:04:48Straight at Petrovic.
01:04:50And in the 68th minute of the game,
01:04:56Tottenham have finally had an attempt at Bournemouth's goal.
01:05:05Spence for Tottenham.
01:05:07Oh, it's a good effort by Tell.
01:05:11Well, he did very, very well with what was a difficult ball in.
01:05:16An opportunist attempt.
01:05:18Not far wide.
01:05:20Bentancur.
01:05:26That has to be a foul.
01:05:28And he is.
01:05:29Yellow card's going to come out here for James Hill.
01:05:37Well, this is surely the last shot for Tottenham.
01:05:40It's flicked on and wide.
01:05:43Well, it's a decent ball into the box.
01:05:45A doggy got a glance.
01:05:46But wide off the left hand, up right.
01:05:51I feel like overall we played really well.
01:05:54We dominated most of the game.
01:05:56And we made it uncomfortable for them.
01:05:57They couldn't build.
01:05:58And they had very few chances.
01:06:00So, overall, good team performance.
01:06:01The players showed a lot of heart and effort and can't blame them for that.
01:06:05On the day, the level of football, the pass, the triple, the touch was not up there, unfortunately.
01:06:15Yes, it was, I think, a very good game of football.
01:06:18I think we played very well today.
01:06:20And you want to score the second one, kind of kill the game.
01:06:23We haven't done it.
01:06:24It happened the same the other day against Wolves.
01:06:27Today, more clear.
01:06:28We've played better and we've had more chances.
01:06:30But we've had to defend also well at the end.
01:06:34And it doesn't have consequences.
01:06:37But it's true that I think we should have scored the second one earlier.
01:06:41Well, they probably should.
01:06:42I mean, Steve said in commentary, didn't he?
01:06:43How is it?
01:06:43Only 1-0.
01:06:44They were brilliant today.
01:06:46But they are so well coached, aren't they?
01:06:48Yeah, they are really well coached.
01:06:50I think he's done a great job with this team.
01:06:52And even though they've had a lot of changes in the summer, losing key players, I think they've lost their last four out of the five of the back four, which is not ideal.
01:07:01But I think the most important thing is the way that they are coached stays the same.
01:07:05And for me, in this first half, and this is in the first five minutes, you can actually notice the dominance that Bournemouth had.
01:07:12And in this picture here, they've got all 10 outfield players in Tottenham's half.
01:07:16That means how much control they have.
01:07:18It's a great pass by Sanessi, great finish by Evan Nielsen, who was a danger all game.
01:07:23And for me, this front five has stayed the same since last season.
01:07:27They know each other.
01:07:28But the most impressive thing was the work defensively, how much they work for each other.
01:07:32They're understanding Evan Nielsen, Tavernier, Scott, try to look after five players, including the keeper, forcing Tottenham down this left-hand side.
01:07:41And ultimately getting the ball back.
01:07:43And when you talk about winning firsts and seconds, it's what you do with it.
01:07:46And Semenyo has been brilliant in the first three games of the season.
01:07:50And if he comes central, Brooks certainly stays out wide.
01:07:53And what a fantastic ball with the outside of his foot.
01:07:56But also, the two full-backs are trying to get and help and support the attack.
01:07:59And Semenyo's unlucky with the header there.
01:08:02But for me, it's the understanding of where each other is.
01:08:05Evan Nielsen comes deep.
01:08:07You know, there's only one thing that Bournemouth are going to do is have runners in advance and another chance created.
01:08:11But for me, towards the end of the second half, in the first half, Tottenham didn't really know what to do.
01:08:17Porro against Semenyo, didn't know whether to stay.
01:08:20He didn't know whether to track the full-back and troffer.
01:08:22But look, for me, it's all about the bodies getting in the box.
01:08:25Evan Nielsen, Brooks, Semenyo, Tavernier, all getting in there, creating chances.
01:08:30And in the second half, if Evan Nielsen pulls out wide, Brooks, who was fantastic all game, he created a lot of chances.
01:08:37But this movement to get in the box, in behind the two centre-halves.
01:08:41And Vicario kept Spurs in the game for a lot of the second half.
01:08:45But pressing, defending, winning first and seconds.
01:08:49Ryan Christie was a key player last season, coming off the bench and creating chances again.
01:08:54So, for me, Bournemouth, very well coached and very well organised.
01:08:57And that's a credit to the manager and the players themselves.
01:08:59And look at that, you know, the number of high turnovers that have ended in a shot.
01:09:03They're only second in those that are ending in a shot behind Liverpool.
01:09:06It's like the perfect mix, isn't it, of fitness, energy, intelligence and skill.
01:09:12I mean, that's what they have.
01:09:14They're just not clinical enough, maybe at times.
01:09:15Maybe at times.
01:09:16They take a lot of risk.
01:09:17Physically, they're brilliant.
01:09:19Technically, very good.
01:09:20And their recruitment's terrific.
01:09:22It's a brilliantly run club and they deserve great credit and the manager especially.
01:09:25Now, Newcastle announced a club record Β£69 million deal for striker Nick Voltemada from Stuttgart today,
01:09:32ahead of their trip to Leeds in the evening kick-off.
01:09:35Connor McNamara was at Ellum Road.
01:09:36Leeds' return to the Premier League has been a rollercoaster already for the joy of beating Everton here
01:09:44to being dismantled at Arsenal.
01:09:46Now Daniel Farker's team hoping to harness home advantage once again.
01:09:51With first Premier League starts for the club for both Lucas Mecha and Sean Longstaff against his old club.
01:09:57Newcastle still smarting for the chaos of their late defeat to Liverpool.
01:10:00Make four changes, Gordon is suspended, Joe Linton is injured, Sven Botman comes into the defence
01:10:07as William Osula is given his first Premier League start for the club.
01:10:14Leeds were knocked out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday by a Sheffield Wednesday team that have been in turmoil this season.
01:10:23This is Liveramento.
01:10:26Ramsey.
01:10:27Pro-Emp trying to keep up with him.
01:10:30Dangerous ball in for Ramsey.
01:10:31Osula!
01:10:32Too many bodies between him and the net.
01:10:36William Osula, who scored against Liverpool on Monday.
01:10:43And looking on, Newcastle United's new centre-forward signing.
01:10:48Nick Voltemada, the German international.
01:10:52And his transfer has been confirmed today.
01:10:54Mecha has held it up well.
01:11:01This is Dan James.
01:11:04Returns it to Mecha.
01:11:05Couldn't bring it with him into the penalty area.
01:11:09So this is worth another little look at.
01:11:12As Mecha attacks the edge of the penalty area.
01:11:16There has been a video assistant referee review of this,
01:11:18but they agree with the on-field referee's call.
01:11:21No foul.
01:11:23I think any collision might have begun outside the penalty area anyway.
01:11:26Which would be out of VAR's jurisdiction.
01:11:31Down goes.
01:11:31Newcastle, play odds as the referee.
01:11:34Mecha.
01:11:35Goodman Sun.
01:11:37Two sliding in, but neither Dan James and Jadon Bothal can get there.
01:11:41Leeds have got themselves a bit of momentum here.
01:11:45Now the Elland Road crowd can sense it.
01:11:47Turnalli seeking out Sipir.
01:11:57Jacob Murphy.
01:12:00And he managed to get in the game's first proper shot on target.
01:12:04Leeds defence just giving their visitors a little bit too much space here.
01:12:09They didn't get across to close down Murphy quickly enough.
01:12:11This is Ramsey.
01:12:22Fabian Scher.
01:12:23Does well to dig it out from his feet.
01:12:25And it was looping and it ends up at the top of the net.
01:12:29Fabian Scher, who's been the top scoring defender for Newcastle in the Premier League era.
01:12:34Does well to get it back onto his right boot.
01:12:38We stretch back to last season.
01:12:40This is now the fifth Premier League game in a row that Newcastle have not scored in the first half.
01:12:48Jacob Murphy.
01:12:49Great power off his left boot.
01:12:51And that's the best save of the game so far.
01:12:54Lucas Perry denies Jacob Murphy.
01:13:03But a space for Tripp here.
01:13:06Noto held a deflection.
01:13:07Made it awkward for strike.
01:13:08Deflection off the Leeds United player.
01:13:13Caused a bit of pandemonium inside the penalty area here.
01:13:16Pascal struck.
01:13:18He was stretching.
01:13:19Goalkeeper instinctively parrying it.
01:13:23Could have led to a calamity inside the Leeds United six-yard box.
01:13:27Leeds United.
01:13:28Hebrimento.
01:13:31Hebrimento.
01:13:35Ylanga.
01:13:36Neat and tidy for Lewis Miley.
01:13:38Langer's cross came off Longstaff
01:13:46Tonari helps it across to Lewis Hall
01:13:49plenty power, couldn't keep it down
01:13:52one moment like this
01:13:55could decide this team time kick off game
01:14:03Harrison
01:14:03looking for Calvin Lewis, good ball
01:14:06first touch, couldn't trap it
01:14:09just in front of the last defender
01:14:15certainly would have been looked at
01:14:16had that ended up in the back of the net
01:14:18for Dominic Kelvin-Lewin
01:14:19Hall
01:14:24Vogel
01:14:29only Kelvin-Lewin ahead of him
01:14:32here is Dominic Kelvin-Lewin
01:14:38denied by Nick Pope
01:14:39what a big moment that could have been
01:14:43for Leeds United's new number nine
01:14:46in a game of few chances
01:14:49that could have been the big decider
01:14:52I'm pretty happy how competitive we were today
01:14:58and also missing all Captain East-Nampadou
01:15:00and Outanaka
01:15:01important players for us
01:15:02in the heart of the game
01:15:03this is exactly how as a newly promoted side
01:15:06you have to approach a game to be rock solid
01:15:08to be good in defending
01:15:09to don't give any cheap chances away
01:15:11and to fight with highest intensity
01:15:13we played well in patches and in phases of the game
01:15:17our defensive display was very good
01:15:19and it has been so far this season
01:15:20so that's a real positive sign
01:15:21we look resilient and strong
01:15:23our attacking play wasn't quite there today
01:15:27your new striker
01:15:28looking on in the stands
01:15:29Nick Voldemalda
01:15:29I mean I know he's going to go off
01:15:30his country now
01:15:31but I guess you're very keen
01:15:33to get him integrated as quickly as possible
01:15:34yes disappointing isn't it
01:15:36that we don't get to sort of work with him tomorrow
01:15:38we're just really looking forward to
01:15:39the time when we do get to work with him
01:15:40because I think he's got unique qualities
01:15:42I think he's got a game that can really help us
01:15:45and I guess he's a rival
01:15:46everyone wants to know
01:15:47does that bring some closure
01:15:48in the Alexander Isak situation?
01:15:49no idea
01:15:50so I'll find out like everybody else will
01:15:52eventually he won't have to answer questions
01:15:56about it anymore
01:15:57even when he's not in the studio
01:15:59he seems to get on the show
01:16:00I'm not quite sure how he's managing that Alan
01:16:02but there we are
01:16:02when you
01:16:04because it was a nil-nil
01:16:06it's actually better to talk about
01:16:08Volta Marder
01:16:09and what he may bring
01:16:10because now Newcastle have had two
01:16:12successive away games
01:16:13that have finished goalless
01:16:14he's a very different type of player
01:16:16to Alexander Isak
01:16:17well Eddie Howe called him unique
01:16:18and that's true
01:16:19he's a 6 foot 6
01:16:21he's not dynamic
01:16:22but he's silky
01:16:23he's got a nice touch
01:16:24he's good at bringing other people into play
01:16:26I saw him in the 21s
01:16:28and I thought he was good in there as well
01:16:29so
01:16:29he is different
01:16:31but
01:16:32they've obviously looked at him
01:16:33and think that's what they need
01:16:34so I'm excited to see him play
01:16:36it'll be interesting
01:16:37because he's described himself as
01:16:39I'm not a typical 6 foot 6 player
01:16:41I'm similar to a small player
01:16:43with his creativity
01:16:43so maybe
01:16:45if he's more of a false nine
01:16:46or drops
01:16:47and Gordon
01:16:48and Barnes
01:16:49and Murphy
01:16:50and Ramsey
01:16:50can all play off him
01:16:51then that'll be really interesting
01:16:53Yeah it wouldn't I think
01:16:54especially when you're bringing
01:16:54Anthony Alanga into the club
01:16:56with his speed
01:16:57and trying to exploit that space in behind
01:16:59and
01:16:59the same as what Danny said
01:17:00in the sense of
01:17:01watching him in the Euros this summer
01:17:02I think he caused teams problems
01:17:04because they didn't know where he should be
01:17:05they're probably thinking
01:17:06he should be that
01:17:07typical number nine
01:17:08but he's able to do that
01:17:09number 10 role
01:17:10and create chances for others
01:17:11Just from a Leeds point of view
01:17:13there was no Ampadu
01:17:14there was no Tanaka
01:17:16but
01:17:16Sean Longstaff
01:17:18did well for them today
01:17:19Longstaff
01:17:21is going to be one of the bargains
01:17:22of the season
01:17:23well I think he was about
01:17:2412 million rising to 15
01:17:25Newcastle fans
01:17:26showing their appreciation
01:17:27That was nice that wasn't it
01:17:28It was nice but deserved
01:17:30Yeah
01:17:30I mean he was terrific
01:17:31for a couple of seasons
01:17:32at Newcastle
01:17:32and was part of their journey
01:17:33and deserves all applauded
01:17:35I thought he was
01:17:36outstanding today
01:17:37it was actually an intriguing game
01:17:38without being full of entertainment
01:17:40Yeah
01:17:40It was I think he was really impressive
01:17:42I think for Leeds this season
01:17:43it's going to be tough
01:17:44I think for all the promoted sides
01:17:45but
01:17:46I think these are the type of games
01:17:47when you need a Sean Longstaff
01:17:48to be hired
01:17:49I think his presence
01:17:50his physicality
01:17:51but also
01:17:51that experience
01:17:52of what he's had
01:17:53through Newcastle
01:17:54so that was a really nice shot
01:17:55and very well deserved
01:17:56Sorry I was just going to say
01:17:58Bruno will know
01:17:59he's been in a game
01:18:00when he wakes up tomorrow
01:18:00That was a real battle
01:18:02wasn't it
01:18:02Let's just show you
01:18:03the Premier League table
01:18:04before we go
01:18:05Chelsea are top
01:18:06Arsenal and Liverpool
01:18:07of course
01:18:08play tomorrow
01:18:09either could go above them
01:18:11Everton and Sunderland
01:18:13have moved into the top six
01:18:14West Ham
01:18:15who you let to play this weekend
01:18:16and Wolves
01:18:17both remain pointless
01:18:19That's it from us
01:18:20Thanks to Danny and Steph
01:18:22Some football did break out
01:18:23in amongst the VAR decisions today
01:18:25Don't forget
01:18:25Liverpool against Arsenal
