00:00Hey Coco, you mentioned Simone Biles and that you saw her tonight.
00:08I'm curious, what was the first gymnastics highlight you saw of her and how she inspires you as an athlete and a person?
00:15Yeah, I think it was honestly her first Olympics.
00:19I don't remember what year that was, but I think it was in Rio.
00:23But that was like the maybe the one of the first few times I'm sure of her like saw her before then.
00:28But like that's the one that sticks in my memory the most.
00:32And yeah, I mean, she's the greatest, one of the greatest athletes.
00:36It's her and Serena for me on my Mount Rushmore of athletes.
00:40And yeah, I think her everything that she went through with on the mental side of things of the sport, something that I followed closely and tried to learn from.
00:49So to see her there tonight kind of gave me a reminder that I needed and I got I was lucky to actually just came from talking to her.
00:56So I was able to tell her that in person.
00:58Catherine.
01:00Hey, Coco.
01:01I'm just curious, like, how does it feel to have been vulnerable like that in a room of 24,000 people?
01:09And I don't know how many millions of people watching at home.
01:12And so I'd like to go through that.
01:14And then, I mean, is it liberating?
01:17Is it?
01:18I mean, what does it feel like?
01:20Um, it feels human, I think.
01:22I think being an athlete, people kind of disregard that side of us, the human side of things.
01:30And, you know, people say so many things like, you know, number three in the world and you're doing this or you're playing like this and you should be better and things like that.
01:39But like, and then in a day, like, I feel like I've already if I stopped and didn't pick up a racket tomorrow, I have a career that so many people would dream of.
01:49So I think when I'm out there in that moment, I kind of give in to the pressures, but I feel like that's normal.
01:56I feel like every pro athlete who's been on the pedestal that I've been on has felt that pressure at some point in their career, whether they showed it publicly like I did or private, privately.
02:07But I think I just showed people what it's like to be a human and I have bad days, but I think it's more about how you get up after those bad moments and how you show up after that.
02:18And I think today I showed that I can get up after feeling the worst I've ever felt on the court.
