00:00I was never hit as a kid, and I was raised very well by my mother and dad.
00:06I think if you raise your kids properly, then there's no need to be putting hands on your children.
00:11I went in the army myself, and so, you know, being an ex-soldier, you've got discipline.
00:19I was born in the 60s, my mum and dad were, they were very fair,
00:24but if I ever did anything wrong, you know, they didn't eat me, but they weren't very happy.
00:29I remember getting caned at school, I remember discipline at school,
00:32and I remember being fearful of some teachers at school.
00:35That's not a bad thing.
00:37We don't want to be afraid of our parents, and we never will be afraid of our parents,
00:40because even in the most extreme circumstances,
00:43when the child is literally putting themselves in danger,
00:47a very strong shout, even a quick touch of the child,
00:51smack in the bottom or whatever it may be,
00:54brings their attention directly back to the parent.
00:56So for me, discipline like that works.
00:58Yes, 100%.
