00:00Jaden, I know you're getting ready for another CPL encounter against the Trinbago Knight Riders on Wednesday.
00:06How are you feeling right now? What's the energy like?
00:09Yeah, I'm feeling really good. I'm feeling good about my bowling, about the team's performance.
00:14I'm pretty confident. We had a good home leg. We won three out of five games, one no result, one loss.
00:21I think you'll take that any time at home, so we're very confident and just looking forward to the next match
00:26and just keep playing our best cricket.
00:29And I know you are at the top of the table right now. What is the team spirit like in that camp going into that game?
00:36Yeah, we're very happy. We understand how the completion is being run.
00:41We understand that we had the majority of our games up front, so it's still a very good feeling to be at number one in the table right now.
00:47We know that is liable to change at some point, but we're still going to give it our best shot every game that we play
00:52and play hard cricket and let the results take care of itself.
00:56What is it that's required in order to get the better of TKR and that too in their home ground?
01:03Just play smart cricket, assess the conditions well, understand our opponents.
01:09I think we played them in the last game at home and we understood what they were going to try and do against us.
01:14So it's just some of us emulating the same things that we did and bettering where we made our little mistakes
01:19and understanding when is our time to seize the momentum.
01:22Whom do you need to be wary of on the TKR side?
01:26I can't just single out one person actually. They are a very strong team.
01:29From the captain, Nicholas Buran to Kyron Poire, experienced, Colin Monroe, they have a very experienced team.
01:36So everyone actually, we plan for everyone and it's just a matter of who executes their skills best on that day.
01:41And with regards to the team's chances, I know you are a new franchise but of course while we talk about it being a new franchise,
01:48the players have the experience of playing T20 cricket. Do you see yourselves, I know it's early days yet,
01:53but being in contention for that title this year?
01:57Yeah, we tell ourselves that we have a very good chance. You know, we are on top of the table right now.
02:02I mean, nothing is set in stone, so we are just going to keep playing our best cricket every single game that we have to play.
02:07Keep giving it our best shot and let the resource take care of itself.
02:11I must also ask, playing Red Bull cricket in England, has it helped you in all formats, like in your T20 and your ODIs?
02:19I think it helped me more in ODI cricket because the way the English players play now in county cricket is,
02:26once you are off your length or just off your line, they are willing to throw the bat at it and they are willing to be aggressive.
02:31So you need to be very tight in your lines, good lengths at all times and I kind of learned that the hard way this year.
02:37Last year was a bit different playing in Division 2, came up to Division 1, this year was a little different.
02:43It kind of shocked me to start, the batsmen were really aggressive and the pitches were flatter than expected
02:49and they scored a lot of runs, I had more bowling to do, but I learned as the time went on.
02:54But yeah, I think it helped me more in 50 with cricket in terms of how batsmen would go about it.
02:58T20 is obviously different, more innovation, batsmen would play shots.
03:02For every ball I have, they would have a different shot, so yeah.
03:06Which is your favorite format?
03:08Test cricket, easily.
