00:00or two teams fighting for American league wildcard spots and the Red Sox and
00:03the Yankees. We got a couple of minutes here.
00:06What did you think about the weekend as a whole?
00:09Obviously the Red Sox dominated the weekend Sunday night baseball was the one
00:12with the most eyes on it. And the Yankees did dominate Dustin may in that one.
00:17I'll start like my takeaway was Roman is here and ready for this rivalry.
00:21That's a fun wrinkle here where you have the next young superstar inserted into
00:26this rivalry and he makes an immediate impact.
00:29Yeah. I mean the Roman empire is going to be a problem for the rest of the
00:34American league East and the rest of baseball for a very long time.
00:38But Bregman is also just such a perfect hitter. Yeah. Right.
00:43His swing is just perfectly geared for Fenway park. And you know,
00:47whether he's playing on the road or at home, it doesn't really matter.
00:50He's just so sound. And then of course you have Jaron Duran,
00:52Carlos Narvaez was running through a bit of a, you know,
00:55a struggle fest there for a while, but he looked a little bit better.
00:58The Red Sox line up and then their bullpen. I mean,
01:02we talk about Chapman with a one zero eight ERA.
01:05He refuses to go away, but how about Weissert? How about Wilson?
01:09How about Whitlock? All the W's getting it done and they're turning into W's.
01:14And then when you have Garrett Crochet at the top of the rotation,
01:16we're going to talk about the American league Cy Young in a bit,
01:19another seven inning, one run, 11 strikeout performance against the Yankees.
01:25He's now thrown 27 innings or excuse me, 27.
01:30What is Garrett Crochet stats against the Yankees real quick?
01:34I think he's got 21 and a third, 27 strikeouts, a two, nine, five ERA.
01:40There you go.
01:41And when freed, when freed gives you six innings,
01:44shutty, the Yankees are expected to win.
01:47But when Brian bail goes seven shutty,
01:49that's when you get a one zero win from the Red Sox,
01:52the lone run driven in by Connor Wong.
01:55It's a pretty embarrassing series.
01:57And now the Yankees dropped to two and eight against the Red Sox.
02:00This season on Sunday night,
02:02baseball was their first nationally televised win against the Red Sox.
02:07And against the Blue Jays, they're three and seven.
02:10The Yankees are 17 and 22 against the division.
02:13If they just went 500 against both the Red Sox and the Blue Jays,
02:16Yankees might be leading it,
02:18but they aren't because they're going up against these teams and they're losing.
02:22Yep.
02:23They are certainly losing.
02:24I will say testament to the Red Sox.
02:26I have Justin Slayton on rehab right now with AAA Worcester.
02:29And oh, by the way,
02:31it's been over a month since a raw,
02:33this Chapman allowed his last hits.
02:35It's not like Chapman's been hurt.
02:37Aroldis Chapman,
02:38the last hit against him was on July 23rd in Philadelphia.
02:42This guy has gone a month without allowing a base hit.
