00:00all right we're getting a little breather across the atlantic basin as we told you we would last
00:08week but we're still tracking a few systems that we're going to keep an eye on but really i think
00:14we're going to have to wait for another week or so before the tropics really get going again at
00:18least the tropical atlantic now we've had six named storms the sixth name storm usually occurs
00:24on august 29th so when you look at where we are now compared to the historical averages we're right
00:31on par any uh gabrielle's taker for gabrielle not really out of the atlantic i do need to get this
00:38though this is uh tropical storm ferdinand barely a tropical storm doesn't look very organized
00:44and again it continues to rotate or move to the north northeast by tomorrow it'll probably be
00:50a tropical rainstorm or no longer a identified tropical system so we'll just keep an eye on it
00:57but it was more of a name storm and it adds to the total for the hurricane season all right how about
01:03the rest of the atlantic why it i mean you've got a couple of tropical waves east of the islands here
01:10they are but these will not develop i'll tell you what we had a nice little flare-up of rain and
01:14thunderstorms here with that tropical wave that moved across the islands you know it's in an okay
01:19area today you can see a little pocket of moisture but when you look at the water vapor loop you've
01:24got dry air in its science there it goes in its uh to the north and west of there look how much dry
01:31air you have in the tropical atlantic so we're really not looking for this to develop because
01:36of the wind shear as well you can see pockets of darker purple uh throughout the atlantic the area of
01:42the watch is going to be this late this week this weekend and early next week a little low area of
01:47low pressure forms on the southern tail of the jet stream but right now it's only a slight or small
01:53chance for development
