Cebu Normal University unveils smart classroom   Cebu Normal University (CNU) unveils on Aug. 26, 2025, its prototype smart classroom as part of a P2-billion modernization program to transform the campus into a 'smart hub.' Dr. Daniel A. Ariaso Sr., CNU President, led the ribbon-cutting at the ASAB Building, explaining that ongoing retrofitting works have hindered the full return of physical classes. The university plans to open 35 smart classrooms by Oct. 15, each equipped with air-conditioning, high-definition televisions, digital whiteboards, and multimedia tools. The initiative supports CNU’s planned shift to blended learning—75 percent onsite and 25 percent online. 01:41There are still 34 more classrooms that we are going to construct.

01:48It's how the retrofitting is actually conducted.

01:52We requested the contractor to prioritize the chipping works.

02:00Kasi these are all very dangerous to the students.

02:04That actually requires talaga complete no face-to-face classes because of the dust.

02:11So, I hope this can be completed by the month of September.

02:24So that by the month of October, we'll have additional classrooms like this.

02:30And there are other classrooms that would have some special features to cater to these students.

02:38We conducted this press conference to inform the public that the project is progressive.

02:46And then the fear, the worries that were felt before is now actually torn down.

02:55Because we are now on the right track of the project implementation.

02:59That the students once they come back on September 1 for our 75-25 onsite online modality.

03:09There will be limited or as we see as much as possible zero incidents to happen.
