Cebu Normal University unveils smart classroom

Cebu Normal University (CNU) unveils on Aug. 26, 2025, its prototype smart classroom as part of a P2-billion modernization program to transform the campus into a 'smart hub.' Dr. Daniel A. Ariaso Sr., CNU President, led the ribbon-cutting at the ASAB Building, explaining that ongoing retrofitting works have hindered the full return of physical classes. The university plans to open 35 smart classrooms by Oct. 15, each equipped with air-conditioning, high-definition televisions, digital whiteboards, and multimedia tools. The initiative supports CNU’s planned shift to blended learning—75 percent onsite and 25 percent online.

00:00But the schedule might be adjusted due to some weather conditions.
00:06Alam nyo naman, may bagyo-bagyo ngayon. Baha.
00:09Itong mga equipment ay hindi lang dito.
00:11Sa Cebu, the areas are coming from Manila.
00:14In fact, others are important. So, yun ang dapat din natin i-factor in.
00:18But by that time, by October 15, 2025,
00:24Ready na for the use of the students.
00:27Kasi right now, the enrollment committee will be able to trail
00:31out of the total number, ilan lang ang pwede magamit.
00:34So, by that, pwede natin na magamit little by little yung mga available classrooms.
00:41Kahit ito, kung isip nilang sana mapota dito mga bata, we will allow.
00:51Mr. President, to be specific,
01:02I give it to the typical pa field.
01:05Kung based sa analysis nyo,
01:07Out of the 35, saan ang mag-post tayo ng more time?
01:15This building sir?
01:16Itong building?
01:17Yes, building.
01:18Ito yung may pinakamarami.
01:19Marami.
01:20Yes, sir.
01:21How many classrooms do we have here?
01:22Fourteen.
01:23Fourteen.
01:27Now, as promised, we are here today to present a model of Makar Classroom as a significant milestone of university.
01:37This Makar Classroom is just an example.
01:41There are still 34 more classrooms that we are going to construct.
01:46As you will move around here.
01:48It's how the retrofitting is actually conducted.
01:52We requested the contractor to prioritize the chipping works.
01:58Yung pagbakbak sa mga tiles.
02:00Kasi these are all very dangerous to the students.
02:04That actually requires talaga complete no face-to-face classes because of the dust.
02:11So, I hope this can be completed by the month of September.
02:24So that by the month of October, we'll have additional classrooms like this.
02:30And there are other classrooms that would have some special features to cater to these students.
02:38We conducted this press conference to inform the public that the project is progressive.
02:46And then the fear, the worries that were felt before is now actually torn down.
02:55Because we are now on the right track of the project implementation.
02:59That the students once they come back on September 1 for our 75-25 onsite online modality.
03:09There will be limited or as we see as much as possible zero incidents to happen.
03:17Because the most critical work that would put their lives in danger that would already been ongoing.
03:43The donation marker to be unveiled in a time of October.
03:56Within a time of October, it is very significant.
04:08Hindi ka kikita na in red.
04:09It is very significant.
04:13I think it is very significant.
04:17I think it is big.
