The Department of Education has launched its "Agap.AI" program at the Quezon City Science High School campus on Friday, January 9.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the program will harness the power of artificial intelligence to strengthen teaching, improve governance, and bring better results to the entire education system.
In separate interviews, senior high school student Brianna Untal and teacher Milanie Cayanan explained how they will use AI and how the program will help them understand the intricacies of AI.

01:25Right now, a lot of us use it for help in homeworks and stuff.
01:29But for me personally, since engineering related is my first course.

01:37It's a huge step towards machine learning and other programming ways.

01:47Of course, there are some inhibitions that are in regards to the use of AI, especially in the use of misinformation and disinformation.
01:57As a student, how do you push the responsible use of artificial intelligence?
02:03As a student, we can't really stop others using AI in human related things.
02:12But what I can do is to advocate against AI freely for using school, especially using homeworks and exams.
02:27Educational system, I think it will be a great help for us teachers and of course our students because not only they learn new things,
02:37but this also gives them the opportunity to learn more outside the classroom with these applications that we have.
02:45How long has a trust and guidance that what their students are used by AI?
02:57Basically, when we talk about this in the education system, maybe it can give us more opportunities when it comes to our strategies,
03:05like gamification when it comes to our lesson, because this also entertains the students.
03:14the students, okay, so that it will be more interactive.
03:19How does the teacher do that in using AI?
03:24Actually, in our school, our teachers are actually aware that the students are to be given reminders
03:33in using this AI, that AI is a human product, and there are some limitations, and they have to still observe
03:43and for example, when it comes to some references, acknowledge the references that they have used in AI.
