03:24coaching right now I think he just won a
03:26Super Bowl and it was in the spring a
03:28flag football team and he's yelling and
03:30and cussing and doing whatever he needed
03:32to do to get there he's a beauty man one
03:36of one of a kind and I tell you what he
03:38gets guys to buy in and want to play for
03:41him he's got that kind of that kind of
03:43energy that just radiates up to the
03:46scared scared the hell out of your kids
03:48yeah yeah in a good way they loved it
03:51yeah I'll bet Kaylee well the experience
03:53wasn't all that different for undrafted
03:55rookie Efton Chisholm he told me he thought
03:57it was definitely crazy the first time

06:01know it's one thing to follow the guy it's a

06:20colors and trying to get this team back to

06:30offensive line it's it's going to take some
06:32work but he's going to get him playing the
06:33right way Winston again going deep and it's

06:48job is on the line he's the subject of trade

06:55really surprised you know this this coaching
06:59staff with is his ability to learn a lot of
07:02different positions he can play three
07:04different positions very smart and he's
07:07had a great camp has a real shot to make

08:32really helps when you're trying to get a
08:35franchise to turn it's the same message

10:42they're competing they're just out there

10:48tremendous competitive spirit about

12:14look around the league you think about
12:16the Texans or a couple years ago or the
12:19commanders what they were able to do
12:22last year and how quickly things can
12:24turn around if you get the right

12:30what I think the Giants are hoping for
12:32at some point and it's for that matter

13:49Wilson weren't on the same page
13:50clearly here he makes a cut where he
13:53came a little bit flatter and Jameis
13:55Winston's expecting him to go to the
13:57corner that's why they have ball floated
13:58the Duggar back here at MetLife
14:05Stadium with a man who knows how good
14:07it can feel to win here because
14:09Russell Wilson won a Super Bowl here
14:10with the Seahawks of course and now it's
14:12your home field throughout this
14:14preseason game we have been talking
14:15about the energy that you can feel on
14:18this Giants team what's fueling that
14:20yeah I just think it's the culture I
14:22think Dave's is doing a great job of I
14:23think our leadership of all the vets
14:25so we have and just the confidence
14:27you know the confidence in our work
14:28you know at the end of the day it's
14:29about the work and I think we're doing
14:30a great job of that and so it's great
14:32belief for sure in this game of your
14:3414-year career what's unique about the
14:37responsibility you have to lead this
14:39team yeah I think that um you know
14:41you're in New York City it's there's a
14:43lot that comes with that and the
14:44challenges and also the upside of it
14:46all and so you know to me I like you
14:48said you know I've been in the stadium
14:49before you know winning the Super
14:50Bowl here I got the same practice
14:52lock as I had before you know it's
14:54crazy and uh sharing the same locker
14:56room we had when we won so it's just
14:58um I think the biggest thing that I
15:00can do is just lead every day uh you
15:02know great communication with these
15:03receivers and tight ends and running
15:05backs our office alliance doing a
15:06great job so to me though it's it's
15:09shared it's shared leadership you
15:10know we're doing a great job of that
15:12across the board first drive of this
15:14game you were one of the first guys
15:16off the bench to congratulate Jackson
15:18Dart for scoring at touchdown what has
15:21impressed you about the rookie yeah I
15:22think he's confident he just he wants
15:24to he wants to uh be great you know
15:26we work at it every day you know and
15:28so I think that he you know just the
15:29relentless nature that we all have in
15:31that room and he's a great part of
15:33that and so it's been fun he's going to
15:35have a great career for sure and I'm
15:36rooting for him every day and we're just
15:38we're just uh we're just getting better
15:39every day and I think that's the fun
15:41part for all of us not just in the
15:42quarterback room but you know I see
15:44Brian Burns working his tail off to get
15:46Abdul Carter better and just that like I
15:48said earlier that shared leadership I
15:50see guys like Nacho helping other young
15:52guys like DA and just it's a lot of fun
15:54and we're working our butts off there's a
15:56lot of hype around your pass rush and how
15:59good they can be so asked Brian Burns who I
16:01should ask for some intel on that
16:03potential he said I should ask you how good
16:06can that unit be yeah I mean it's I think
16:08it could be best in the world um you know
16:10we got to do it every week and but you
16:11know for our offensive line you know we got
16:13a lot of experience on offensive line and
16:15those guys going against those guys every day
16:17it's just making our football team better
16:18and our offensive line's helping those guys
16:20and vice versa and um like I said it's it's
16:23it's the work ethic it goes always goes back
16:24to the work and we're doing a great job of
16:26that Brian Dable told us how good you have
16:29been for Malik Nabors describe the effort you
16:32have put into developing a connection with him
16:34well Malik and I spent a lot of time together I
16:36mean like not just on the field but he's he
16:38basically comes over to the house every night uh we get
16:40treatment he's he's spending extra time you know getting ready his mindset um he's a guy who could be the best in the world
16:47and will be and uh you know he's he's got the right
16:49mindset and his work ethic on top of that and so I
16:52think the fun part to me is just the relationship part of it
16:55you know my son future he just loves he loves Malik Nabors you know it's that
16:59site and so it's it's it's cool and uh we're all we're all having a blast and
17:03uh I can't wait to to to get ready to go on Sunday
17:07that energy like I said it's palpable around here thanks Russ thank you guys

18:59I love that there's a willingness from him to want to learn from from a guy that's played so much football

19:10and not too many guys can be comfortable in a well would amount to a placeholder role yeah but he knows

19:53you know what we've seen in the first couple preseason games and it continued tonight not
19:57getting out of the pocket too early but has the ability to scramble and make plays still learning how to
20:03slide i love this one because instead of just using his legs he buys time to vision downfield to
20:08find the open receiver and then greg delcich there with the ball out early on that quick
20:12slam for the touchdown so there it is preseason 32 of 47 372 three and zero interceptions with a
20:20touchdown run as well see the patriots on a second and one move to change here micah bernard
20:26he's a rookie out of utah first down i don't know if dart could have done anything more it's not just
20:33the numbers it's the command of the offense it's the decisive decision making that he's made the
20:41the accuracy the willingness to sit in the pocket and then get out when there is trouble because of
20:46the athletic ability but just uh about as good as you could have hoped for to see from this rookie
20:52within this offensive structure mike 54 i see him and there's a song in my mind i'll tell you in a second
20:59the 43 43 the bridge looking down field it's taken down the song i think this is middle when will i see you again
21:14with jackson dart when will we see him again that's fair
21:19and it all depends on how he and the giants are doing against that difficult schedule he talked about

26:48all the way through yeah something to be said for that they've had a lot of success
26:52of course these last few years haven't been good but
26:55you know they have a way of doing it you know when you go that route you got to go find an
27:01offensive coordinator who you can trust and who's capable of putting together a nice plan and
27:06obviously he did that with josh mcdaniel's so
27:10and if you hire an offensive guy you got a guy somebody who can run that defense yeah which is how
27:15sean mcveigh got the job of the rams when he was 30 years old who's going to run your defense
27:20wade phillips you're hired right and i don't think one way is necessarily sometimes people because
27:27they see sean mcveigh they see ben johnson it becomes trendy it's like you have to go get the
27:32the newest offensive guru and i'm not saying that that's that that's a bad thing obviously it's great
27:39but domico ryan's a pretty good head coach down in houston oh yeah there's defensive guys that
27:44are great leaders and know how to manage and uh kind of the entire operation stand in front of that room
27:5214 10 let's go to kaylee well mike a strong way to in the half how has your team's play tonight
27:57reflected the new culture that you're trying to build well well i would say not very well but early on
28:03too many penalties uh too many loose plays defensively couldn't get into a rhythm offensively but
28:08you know again it's a long game we got a turnover we got a couple stops on defense
28:12kind of settled down and then a great drive there and we get the ball at the second half so kind of
28:16everything we talked about um being able to end the the half with the with the football and then
28:21hopefully we come out and get some points here to get the game back close no drake made a night but
28:26what strides have you seen him make since you got to new england i think it's a command i think it's
28:31a new new system and him being able to you know have command of what we're doing and operate and
28:36leadership we're going to continue to to really work on that and make sure that he has some attention
28:43uh getting moments as howard cosell used to say he tells it like it is

28:55and look at some of the great moments in the history of these two franchises

29:41it's not what we're looking for early in the game but then i think he was happy with the way
29:45especially especially that last drive ended uh where they were able to protect woolridge give him a
29:50chance to make some throws and put a touchdown up on the board and looked a little bit more like the
29:54team that he wants to see just just competing and doing the little things right so each of these teams
30:01a couple of weeks off before they start the regular season giants will begin in washington
30:07against jayden daniels and company and the patriots will open up against las vegas
30:13pretty interesting story lines in regard to that you got tom brady of the ownership group
30:21las vegas against new england you got pete carroll who was the coach
30:26of the patriots before bill belichick took over now coaching las vegas
30:30a lot of good stuff there a lot of good stuff start with a touchback kaylee
30:40well brian after giving jackson dart his first start what more did you learn about your rookie
30:45not much i thought he played well um i'd like him to slide on that long run
30:51but he got the wind knocked out in there but competitive made good decisions we got a finished place
30:56we have the ball in our hands there seems to be a different energy to be observed around this team
31:03why is that well all we're trying to do is get a little bit better each day so
31:07got a lot to work out from this half tommy will play the rest of the game

31:16um looking to come out here just give up the 13 play drive so come out here and hopefully get the ball back

36:07be helpful for him well how do you think everybody seems to think all right wilson's going to start
36:12you know the way new york is right you start like two and four you know what's going to happen right
36:17yeah and i think the fact that brian dable's in his fourth year too i think there's going to be a
36:22lot of pressure on him and we think about what he's done in his career he was with josh allen when
36:27he started with buffalo and the development that he had with josh you know that's going to weigh into
36:32this decision as well when they put him in it's fired over the minute caught up at the 45 yard line
36:38how important is it for dart to have jamis winston and russell wilson
36:44as he's a rookie and there's so much coming at him just to allow him to to be in a room
36:50with some experience how big is that i think russell's really going to teach him how to be
36:54a professional how to prepare for games but you mentioned jamis winston i mean he is the energy
37:00that he brings the juice the way that he interacts with guys guys gravitate to him for a reason so he'll
37:06be a great example and a guy that could spend a little bit more time with jackson during the during
37:11the week than a russell wilson as he's playing it's been fun to watch the you know the both
37:17these teams have struggled in recent years but i'll tell you the giants who have been playing
37:22more guys that we'll probably see when the regular season starts tonight um it's just been an energy
37:27about them you know even the guys that are starting that are not playing that are starters coming off the
37:32bench high-fiving players after a big third down stop i mean it's that's a big it's a big difference
37:38from where they were a year ago it is and i love you saw malik neighbors was kind of the first guy
37:43that ran over and chest bumped jackson dart the other thing about the giants that excites me when you
37:48can rush for and get to the passer you're going to be a good defense and it's certainly something
37:53they put a priority on and i think everybody's looking forward to seeing this year
37:59neighbors of course is such a key element if they're going to have success this year caught 109
38:04balls last year hasn't played at all in preseason but he'll be ready for the the ok in washington

40:02coming in for one play when they're checking out jackson dart and throwing a touchdown how would you best
40:07put into terms for the fans to go from what jackson dart is seen and drake may when he's been in there
40:16to what happens week one like how big of a change the speed the complexity the coverages
40:24pre to post snap like what how would you how would you try to explain that day it's not even close
40:30these are these are good reps to me it was more about the operation getting in and out of the huddle
40:36locating the play clocks making sure you're remembering your emotions getting the players getting
40:40the tempo and listening to the play caller but when you get into an nfl game in the regular season
40:48it's the intensity it's the noise it's the pressure then the big thing for me is third down how do these
40:54guys play on third down and these coaches will try to protect them a little bit with play calls
40:58but that that's where it gets really intense in the nfl is third and six to nine
41:02third down in red zone and devito just completed a third down pass to set up with a first and goal
41:08he's five out of five play fake and that's the first incomplete pass but there's a flag as zach pascal
41:17was the intended receiver they keep going with that rpo and finally see the inside leverage there from the
41:24corner trying to take away that potential glance route and still almost snuck it in there and no flag
41:31you mentioned it he won't in new york they're doing the wave you know it's pretty easy come on
41:39these aren't the regulars second down and goal
41:50on the ground to the outside to the three is jonathan ward before he's pushed back
41:57i thought we put the wave away about 10 years ago 10. longer longer longer there it is still banging
42:06around out there there it is i guess it's getting stronger everything comes back like old ties

42:48they all seem to be making quick decisions and getting the ball out on time to give their receivers
42:55in this case to tie it in a chance good job of getting the ball out in front on that out cut
43:00good strong hands by the rookie to hold on to that football for the touchdown at this point if i'm a giants
43:06fan i'm thinking about saving some of these touchdowns for the regular season oh for sure
43:13yeah next to last in points last year that's the point here he's good
43:18that's the time and with 652 to go on the third 21 to 10 giants
43:37well we've had a chance to see the rookie abdul carter mainly on third downs tonight put a little
43:41package together we talked about his versatility and you can tell the offensive line was dialed in
43:47trying to do best they could to keep him out but uh your thoughts on this fit and already kind of
43:54an embarrassment of riches between the outside linebackers and his defensive line yeah it really
43:58is and when you have a young guy like this another great part about it is you've got veterans that are
44:04there to show you the way too yeah and so when you look at brian burns and how productive he's been
44:09to be able to help him out dexter lawrence you know it was a cool exchange with dexter lawrence and brian
44:14burns showing each other things and even though they're very different body types
44:19there's a lot of things that you can learn so he he's got a ways to go because this is such a
44:24difficult league but to know that he's going to be singled most of the time because he has those other
44:28guys rushing with him yeah it's going to be a nice advantage for him it's interesting he can play
44:33you know they've lined him up in the inside on third downs you try to create matchup advantages he
44:38can be a long ball linebacker obviously an edge guy it would be interesting once the real
44:44games start to see how they employ him with the rest of those players that we mentioned yeah they're
44:50going to put packages together for him early right where he can get out for the passer so i think you
44:55know that's something that's a disadvantage you know nobody plays in the preseason anymore you don't
44:59show anything but starting week one and two they're going to be able to surprise some people with
45:03those packages and i'm with you that brian burns sometimes gets overlooked how you brought up how
45:07earlier today he he's played all his career a lot of times he's playing on not such great teams but
45:14he's one of the elite pass rushers in the nfl right now 27 years old who would know better about
45:22not playing with elite teams than this man thanks al listen welcome aboard it's you go to pro football
