00:00Yeah numbers are there. I agree I mean I'll say this you know just being the
00:06third preseason game I was in this one fourth one back then quite a bit and
00:10it's fun to see these guys out there competing this was something even late
00:14in my career that I was out there doing but the guys on the sideline are excited
00:20for these guys to get their chance to show off because they've been working
00:22hard on training camp as well. So Mike March is your coach right in St. Louis?
00:26Yeah. What did which coach did you take the most from in your career 19 17 years
00:34yes somebody so Chan Gailey comes to mind right away and Chan Gailey with the
00:39Buffalo Bills I had Chan Gailey here in New York and then I had him again in
00:42Miami three times AFC's Chan Gailey but I'll say this and what I was trying to
00:47get at earlier with this system in my ninth season I played for Bill O'Brien
00:52with the Houston Texans and I learned more about football in that one season
00:57with Bill O'Brien and learning and seeing the game the way that the Patriots
01:01taught the game to Tom Brady for so many years and that's why I'm excited about
01:05these young guys being in these systems. You know I think of the Bill Belichick
01:08tree though I think O'Brien would be the number one guy in my mind to come off that
01:13tree. Yeah he did great in Houston he had a good run and now of course in Boston
01:17college. Rabel's son Tyler found himself a gig there at BC so it's it's as we've seen
01:25over the years New England is a very incestuous place with these coaches they
01:29all wind up seeing each other back again in some way shape or form.
01:33Thank you so far. Ryan we thank you for coming by. He almost killed the entire
01:39quarter right anyway you're on the post game with Barissa. I am down there all
01:48right very good to pay your after dues. Yeah see you downstairs. Thank you. Be good.
01:52Brian's been special. Appreciate it.
01:58Welcome back to MetLife where I'm here with the quarterback who I'm told walks into
02:02the Patriots facility every day with a smile on his face. Drake May where do you
02:07see the most notable change in your program with Mike Rabel at the helm? Yeah I think
02:12just the focus intensity bringing it every day I think that's what he's preaching and
02:15what we're trying to buy into and yeah looking forward to the season I think we're
02:19trying to you know build a culture I think we're working on it every day in practice and it's good
02:22to get these guys out here and show it in game time. What advice has Rabel given you
02:27about how he wants you to lead? Yeah I think you know there's no days off is what he says you know
02:33playing this position playing this spot in this league there's no days off and I think that's
02:36something I'm trying to you know take full you know buy into it fully and I think you guys
02:41the quarterback I think they're looking at me to pump guys up get on when I need to and more or not
02:46just support them. Under your new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels you have said you're getting more
02:51communication in your helmet than you did under the previous staff take us inside the helmet what's
02:57that communication like? Um yeah I think it's positive I think he's uh they're trying to see
03:01the same things I think they're trying to be on the same page that's the biggest thing and it's good for
03:04us to get um some reps the past two weeks in preseason um you know in game I think it's hard to
03:09replicate that and replicate that in practice um so it's good to get out there it's usually positive
03:13stuff and uh sometimes if it's if it's not I probably need to do better. What are some of
03:18those things that you need to do better on? Yeah I think uh just bouncing back I think there's going
03:22to be plays in this league when the defense wins so just bouncing back and then uh other than that
03:26just just create positive plays you know getting some good looks and stay off balance. When I first saw
03:30you during pre-game roll-ups tonight you were right there alongside your new left tackle Will Campbell
03:35what has he done to build your confidence in him protecting your blind side? Yeah I think just trying to
03:41build a relationship you know I went to the same thing he did um you know top pick and coming to
03:45Boston from a southern um you know southern place so we're living through the same thing so just trying
03:50to be there for him and uh you know when he's on the field you know it's uh it's a good feeling out
03:54there. A superstar of the preseason for you guys Travion Henderson how can he open up your run game?
04:00Yeah just try to get him to football in space um he can run between the tackles he can make plays
04:04you know catching football just trying to get him in space and let him do his thing and he's a lot
04:08better runner than I am so try to get the ball in his hands. A belated congratulations from our crew
04:13to you a wedding over the summer. I want to know which one of your brothers gave the best speech at
04:18your wedding. I had them all speak up there so it was good uh probably my brother Bo he's probably
04:23watching uh shout out Bo but uh no they all did a great job. Well we appreciate you Drake uh let you
04:29enjoy the rest of this third quarter. All right there there is the wedding picture right there
04:36June 21st the longest day of the year.
04:41Class act you know yeah great career down in Chapel Hill and you know we had a chance to talk to Josh
04:46McDaniels his offensive coordinator one of the interesting things he said understanding that
04:50it's a young quarterback he said it's either a good play or it's it's a mistake and let's avoid making
04:56that same mistake. I think it's a great approach to realize you know you're still in that and that would be
05:02the idp development stage of his career. We have a personal foul late hit out of bounds 24 on the
05:11defense. That penalty will be assessed 15 yards from the end of the run automatic first down. But
05:16Fitzy just talked about the preseasons about the operation getting the play call knowing where to go
05:21with the ball and understanding your reads. Josh McDaniel telling us that you know that that could not be
05:28going much better for Drake May with it within this offense with with Josh McDaniel has been very proud
05:35of the way he's handled this offense and kind of where it's it's projecting where it's heading. Remember
05:41though we can talk all we want about Drake May. You got a rookie left tackle potentially rookie left guard
05:46a new center a new right tackle the only. Offensive lineman back is the right guard the winning a winner.
05:55So it's it's going to be a work in progress.
05:58They've got to play much better up front than they have obviously.
06:02There is insurance racing triple. Yeah. And that's why there's four new pieces up there and then
06:08you know you got the new receivers and digs and in Hollins a couple rookies and Chisholm and Williams.
06:14You got Travion Henderson. They've done a heck of a job of building these pieces around Drake May and
06:20now you got to put it all together in a new system. Second down and three here fake toss then a toss
06:28to the outside. Coming up about a yard and a half shy is Dante Turbo Miller.
06:35First year guy out of South Carolina. Third and short.
06:40Steph Diggs had the ACL late in October last year had the surgery and by the time the season
06:47starts he'll be about 10 months out from that surgery. Patriots aren't really addressing it but
06:53seem to be optimistic that keep keep their fingers crossed that he'll be ready to go week one and
06:59there's been the big story right there Travion Henderson out of Ohio State the rookie
07:03but the kickoff return and and some big runs and receptions in this preseason.
07:08Just an explosive player. Third and one middle gets the first time.
07:15Meanwhile let's take a look at Evan Neal here.
07:18Evan Neal is the first rounder that from a few years four years ago they moved him inside
07:25as a guard hoping that that might be the answer before they might have to
07:29potentially give up on him and you can see this has not been great. You know he there's a nice job
07:35of helping out in the right with the right tackle there stone foresight but the quickness that works
07:41around him and his inability to get left and right side to side is continues to be a problem even on the inside.
07:48But you know that long drop checks it down completes the pass and spun down to the 40 yard line by Pettis is Dante Miller.
07:59Under two to play in the third.
08:01You know you talked about New England and revamping everything. They spent a ton of money
08:07in the offseason on free agents and they're still well under the cap right now.
08:13And again a lot of those pieces around around Drake May you know whether it's up front or uh you know
08:21they did pick up some guy and there's a lot of new faces.
08:25Second and nine is a little flip out here room to run. Ward inside the 10 all the way for the touchdown.
08:36That's a lot of them.
08:38Forty one yards with Jonathan Ward.
08:42They caught him in man coverage.
08:45Heck of a block here by Brian Hudson.
08:50Nice job of picking up who would be in coverage in man coverage. Watch 60 get out in front.
08:56Once you make that block right there just kind of a leverage push.
09:00Now he's just showing what he can do in the open field.
09:03Because they're caught man coverage just not a lot of
09:06defenders there to be able to.
09:08Corral him and rally to the football.
09:10They have the backs to him.
09:11And he shows what kind of speed he has in the open space.
09:14Nice play.
09:16Makes the point to.
09:20Bangs that through to make it a.
09:22An 18 point margin.
09:25Giants 28.
09:27Patriots 10.
09:33I'm going to have to be in a better mood this time next year than I am right now.
09:47Better not take too long Bruce because I've just about run out of patience.
09:50That was John Mara there he is.
09:59Got Joe Shane is the.
10:01General manager right there there.
10:03Dayball and Shane were very much on.
10:07The old proverbial hot seat at the end of the year.
10:09A lot of people thought.
10:10The Giants would move on.
10:11But John Mara said no no.
10:14We're going to run this back one more time.
10:16They'll have faith in these guys.
10:19See what happens.
10:20Well clearly.
10:21That's that seat will remain hot.
10:23There's no question about.
10:25I think we talked about this at the meeting today.
10:28One of the reasons maybe the Giants did not move on.
10:31They had Pat Shermer for a couple of years.
10:33Hired Joe Judge.
10:34That didn't work out.
10:36And then if you go again and you could go on with your fourth.
10:39Kind of coach GM thing in nine years.
10:42The Pittsburgh Steelers have been three coaches in more than half a century.
10:47Yeah.
10:47You look like you're a mess to begin with if you make that many changes.
10:50Yeah.
10:51I personally think there are too many owners who pull a quick trigger.
10:56I think social media, the noise, unprecedented in today's modern game.
11:01And I actually applaud the Giants for doing this.
11:05Because I think Joe Shane and I think Brian Dable are a good combination.
11:09I think what blew up in their face is the hard knock show.
11:13Saquon Barkley, the way that went down.
11:15Barkley goes to Philly, their rival.
11:17They go win the Super Bowl.
11:19Meanwhile, they're hanging their hat on Daniel Jones.
11:21That thing implodes on them.
11:22So the optics of it were a disaster.
11:26It would have been easy for Mara and the Giants organization to say,
11:30we're done with this.
11:31Let's move on.
11:32But I think sometimes trying to stick with continuity and trusting if you think
11:38you have the right guys, give them a chance to build it back up.
11:41And I don't know.
11:42I think it's going to work.
11:44There's a pick.
11:46TJ Moore, rookie out of Mercer.
11:49Oh, Mercer.
11:50Touch that.
11:54And that giant pitch.
11:58Look at this.
11:59Looks like 83 guys are out there celebrating a preseason pick fix.
12:04And again, we can kid around about, again, third preseason game.
12:08But look at the blue jerseys and look who they are.
12:11Those are starters coming down to celebrate.
12:14We've seen this from the opening drive to this play right now,
12:18if you've not been watching it.
12:20And I don't care about it being preseason.
12:23I care about competing.
12:24And you care about just seeing a team that is cheering for one another.
12:29That's impressive.
12:31Not just the play, but once again, the reaction from that Giants bench.
12:35Final minute of the third quarter.
12:37The Giants are now up by a score of 35.
12:40But then another look.
12:42What a job here by Moore.
12:44He's kind of using his eyes, sitting back in zone.
12:48Steps right in front.
12:49Ball is thrown behind his target.
12:51We've seen that a couple times tonight.
12:53Just a good job of squeezing.
12:55And then making a play.
12:56And then it's a race to the end zone.
12:59Woolridge has been a couple times behind his receivers.
13:02Like I said, and this time it really cost him.
13:05And what a play and what a moment for number 30.
13:09And the interception against Washington earlier in the preseason.
13:16So he's definitely helping his cause.
13:24So the Giants right now with a 25-point lead on their way to what appears to be an undefeated
13:32preseason, again, for what it's worth.
13:36Look at it two ways.
13:37John Harbaugh loves to win preseason games and wins almost all of them.
13:42As that kick results in on the touchback.
13:45Marv Levy could have given a hoot.
13:48He didn't care.
13:49Yeah.
13:51Because when it comes to all the times, it's focused going through the season.
13:57Yeah.
13:58But to me, when you struggle as badly as both these teams have in the last few years,
14:03you know, just feeling that winning feeling is important.
14:09Having guys make plays is important.
14:11I said DJ James looking at the wrong third.
14:14I meant TJ Moore.
14:15It just, it's important to get that energy.
14:18And especially again when you see the guys not playing tonight, the starters that are doing
14:22most of the celebrating, it's a good time.
14:25Turning the corner, picking up eight.
14:29Micah Bernard.
14:30You know, you made such a great point too, Kirk, before about not only was last year a disaster,
14:35three and four team, but the Barkley thing was played out on hard knocks.
14:41Like, oh, you know, we really don't need the guy.
14:43You know, Mara didn't want to get rid of him.
14:44And, you know, Shane said, you know, it's going to be a good thing for the team.
14:48And, of course, it was a complete disaster.
14:50Yeah, yeah.
14:50And then Philly goes on to do what David did.
14:52Of course.
14:53And he wins the rushing title.
14:54And then he does the hurdle.
14:56I mean, he did everything.
14:58That was insult to injury.
15:00Yeah.
15:00Second and one out to the 49-yard line.
15:03And I think admitting the mistake, they were very clear.
15:07Daniel Jones is our guy.
15:09You know, the first year that Dable's here, they go to the playoffs with Daniel Jones.
15:12Sure.
15:13And then instead of dragging it out, they admit, you know what, we missed here.
15:19Let's abort at the end of last year.
15:21We got to go in another direction.
15:23And here they are.
15:24Well, up to the fourth we go.
15:26Pick six right here.
15:2935-10.
15:30Jets.
15:38The home team, New York Jets, an intimate look at a family life,
15:42following players and their partners through a year of setbacks,
15:45breakthroughs capturing the hard sacrifice,
15:48and humanity behind America's favorite game.
15:51Watch the home team, New York Jets.
15:53You can watch it now on Prime.
15:55Now, Michael's Curve Street, Kaylee Hartung.
15:58Off we go, the fourth quarter.
16:00Patriots have the war.
16:01And stuffed in the backfield, Micah Bernal.
16:05I don't see him tonight because they hold him out,
16:08but this kid made a spectacular splash in his first game.
16:12Yeah, he really did.
16:14And, you know, following him throughout his career at Ohio State, it's interesting.
16:17He exploded on the scene like a lot of Ohio State backs from over a thousand yards.
16:21The freshman had a big injury to an injury to his foot in his second year.
16:26And admitted openly that he had to deal with depression.
16:29He focused, he felt too much on football.
16:34It was just his entire life.
16:35And he said that because of that, it just put him into a really dark place.
16:40And Ohio State at that time had a lot of players and coaches who introduced him to his faith.
16:45And he said from that point on, he had more perspective for football.
16:50And he still was great, still was important to him, but it just wasn't everything.
16:54And I think watching him last year on their national championship run, he was just a different guy.
16:59Not just on the field, but the way he carried himself.
17:02And now I think as a rookie at New England, you see a pro's pro.
17:06You see a guy that doesn't put things out of perspective, doesn't get too high or too low.
17:11And I think New England Patriots fans are not only going to love this guy and his big playability,
17:16but I think they're going to love what he brings as far as being a teammate to this New England Patriots organization.
17:22They're down and 10.
17:23They get stuff for that.
17:24You know, it's pretty interesting.
17:26Opening day is two weeks away.
17:28Ramondre Stevenson has been hurt.
17:31He hasn't played in preseason.
17:33You got Antonio Gibson, the veteran.
17:35I mean, it's possible that Henderson is your opening day starting running back.
17:40Yeah, again, right now I think a lot of people look at him as a third down back because he can do it.
17:46He can pick up the blitz.
17:47He can make big plays catching the football.
17:49But he's a three down back.
17:50I mean, he's a guy that can handle things.
17:53But I look at them like they have three really, really good backs.
17:57Two powerful ones in Stevenson and Gibson.
18:00Giants have the ball.
18:01We go to Kaylee.
18:03Well, guys, I'm here with the parents of Giants fans' newest favorite player,
18:08Jackson Dart's favorite parents, Brandon and Kara, here from Utah.
18:12How soon after this game are you going to tell Jackson he should have slid on that last play he was in for?
18:18I tell him every game.
18:21Yeah, that's a common conversation.
18:23But hopefully, you know, David can talk some sense into him.
18:28Yeah.
18:28How do you describe the emotions watching your son make his first start in an NFL game tonight?
18:35I think it's something that we know that he's dreamed about since he was a little kid.
18:41And so it's one of those moments, I think, as a parent that you take in.
18:44And I mean, for us, we're still processing everything that's happened over the last six months or so.
18:52And I think it's, I mean, you want your kids to fulfill their dreams and to have him be able
18:57to do it, you know, in a place so special like this is, I mean, it's unbelievable.
19:01We're so proud and excited and feel blessed.
19:05At every step of Jackson's career from USC to Ole Miss, he's been in the spotlight.
19:09What makes him so adept at handling pressure?
19:14Oh, that's a good question.
19:15I guess for as long as I can remember, he's wanted such big things that he put himself
19:23in uncomfortable positions a lot.
19:25And we had this saying in our house, like, you've got to be comfortable being uncomfortable.
19:29And so I think for him, it's just like he's used to that feeling.
19:34And it never deterred him from what he wanted or it didn't scare him from his dreams.
19:38It's just he knows that's a part of it, like, no matter what, it's a part of it.
19:42We showed our audience Jackson's pre-game fit, which he gives you credit for.
19:47Which one of you does he get his swag from?
19:50We both love fashion.
19:52We both love fashion.
19:54So, um, I mean,
19:57It's probably a mixture.
19:58I mean, the on the field stuff is from his pops.
20:02Yes, on the field stuff is from his pops.
20:06The pre-game stuff or evening or night out is probably more.
20:11Well, I hope you all are enjoying this moment and this journey that you're on.
20:15Thanks for taking the time with us.
20:16Thanks so much.
20:17Guys.
20:18Yeah, thank you.
20:19Great job, Kaylee, on that one.
20:21Talking to the Dart family.
20:22Meanwhile, you just saw Humphrey for 38 yards to the New England 46-yard line.
20:28Giants keep moving.
20:30DeVito's look really good tonight.
20:34Surveys moving forward.
20:36Throws, caught.
20:38So, um, if Jackson Dart is becomes a star here, which everybody hopes the Giant fans hope will happen.
20:47Next stop for him will be the Met Gala, right?
20:49Oh, yeah.
20:49That's a lot.
20:51I mean, style is a big thing for him.
20:55You know, he's a guy that, he's a foodie, so he's in a great town in New York City for that.
21:01He and Tommy DeVito have kind of partnered up, and Tommy helping him get out in the city and
21:07see some great restaurants.
21:08But right now, Tommy DeVito's showing him how to play quarterback, too.
21:11He's doing a heck of a job here.
21:13I don't know what he's missed.
21:14One pass, he's 13 or 14 for 155 and a couple touchdowns.
21:18And again, another Giants quarterback that you can tell feels very comfortable.
21:22Look at him, sitting in that pocket.
21:25Ball outside, the little Jordan Humphrey.
21:27Great separation.
21:29Little Jordan Humphrey, 6-4, 2-25.
21:36Joe Burrow's become quite the fashion plate, right?
21:39Yeah, yeah, yeah, and a winter has reached out for dark's phone number.
21:46Breaking news.
21:48Third and six, even though she's retiring.
21:54Inside 39 yard line, you cover the world here, don't you?
22:00Ward for 13.
22:02First out.
22:03Rable's gonna get some of this video, and again, it's not the starters that are out there,
22:08but it's under his watch.
22:10It's third down and six, and again, they keep priding themselves on fundamentals,
22:17being gap sound, building a wall there, tackling well,
22:21and that's just not an example of that at all, especially on third and six.
22:25On the other side, it's really good blocking, good effort there,
22:28getting downfield and helping the back be able to pick up that first down there.
22:32Giants approaching 400 yards, and now they're over that mark, breaking and tackle,
22:39taking it all the way to the end zone, but stopped at the one yard line is Fedoni.
22:44Thomas Fedoni almost gets in, but sets up a first and goal.
22:49Tony is showing some things tonight, and this time it's really showing him what he can do after the catch.
22:55You know, he's being able to show he can get into the seam, ball is out again on time,
22:59gives him a chance.
23:00How about that move right there?
23:02Safety came over and submarined him, he kept his feet.
23:05He's definitely going to be short with that elbow down, but man, he had a touchdown at the other
23:09end of the field, and now a heck of an effort there to almost come up with his second touchdown
23:14in the ninth, the rookie out of Nebraska having a night there.
23:17Gain to 28, first and goal, to the end zone, broken up.
23:25In the corner there.
23:27Bly with the intended receiver, Jordan Bly, second and goal.
23:32Eight and a half to go.
23:37I'd say in regulation, but the game, right?
23:41There's no, there's no overtime in preseason.
23:45One of the greatest rule changes ever, he did it a few years ago.
23:50Second and goal.
23:57DeVito rolling, open, caught.
23:59Delsic, the second touchdown.
24:04So the Giants have four quarterbacks on this roster.
24:08And there's some teams that are probably watching this.
24:10I don't know if it's Indianapolis, I don't know who it might be.
24:15But there's got to be some teams that are looking at this and
24:17you're like, can we borrow one of those guys?
24:20Mm-hmm.
24:20I mean, all four, well, Russell had played, but you know what he's obviously capable of doing.
24:26This time he finds the other big tight end, Greg Delsic, for the touchdown.
24:31What do they borrow?
24:32They want to own him.
24:32That's what I mean.
24:33Yeah.
24:33I mean, it's like, geez.
24:40Three drives for the Giants in the half.
24:42All three have resulted in touchdowns.
24:44The extra point is good.
24:46And the Giants running away, 42-10.
24:51He's going to be at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands on this Thursday night.
25:02Satchel of Liberty, New York Carver on this Thursday night.
25:07He talked about the force of me.
25:09Yeah, so last year you got Daniel Jones.
25:11He wanted to get released.
25:13He was with the Minnesota.
25:14Now he's going to start from Indy.
25:16Yeah, Drew Locke now with Seattle.
25:17He had Tommy DeVito.
25:19And so they kind of, you know, blew it up.
25:21They blew it up totally.
25:22And here's what you get.
25:23Pretty good.
25:24Yeah, you got, obviously, the veteran of Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston.
25:28We saw him come in and didn't blink with a nice touchdown pass.
25:31Come right off the bench.
25:32Jackson Dart's been the story.
25:34Not just being a first-round pick, but, of course, what he's done in preseason.
25:38And then Tommy DeVito, look at him tonight, 15-17, 184-3-0.
25:45And we know it's preseason.
25:46And we know the coverages are going to change when this real games start.
25:51But it's just about the execution and, again, how quickly they're making decisions
25:55and how accurate these guys are with the football.
25:58If nothing else, I mean, the eye test.
26:02Yeah.
26:03He looks poised, looks good, looks professional.
26:06I mean, you watch these football games in September.
26:12And sometimes it's hard, it's really hard to watch the execution from the quarterback spot.
26:17Sure.
26:17You know, and I don't know if you're going to trade one of these guys.
26:20I don't know.
26:20It would be great if you could hold on to them.
26:22But, you know, who do you get rid of?
26:25You're not going to get rid of Russell Wilson or Jackson Dart.
26:28Nope, not this year.
26:29So what, you know, I don't know.
26:33It's a good problem to have over the next week for the Giants.
26:35Well, I'll say compared to what they're coming off of.
26:40You know, the Patriots.
26:42Here's Bernard.
26:43You know, and with Daniel Jones, sometimes you've been doing this a long time.
26:48What year is this for you in the NFL?
26:50We were talking on that 40.
26:5140.
26:52Think about that.
26:5340 years.
26:53You've seen this quarterback position, and it seems like it's more and more relevant
26:58that if you don't have it right under center, you're not going to be competitive in the NFL.
27:03And Daniel Jones, he has to be released.
27:06He got that, goes to Minnesota.
27:08Now he's starting in Indianapolis.
27:09So it's not like he doesn't have ability.
27:11But it just needed to be a change for him.
27:13Needed to be a change for the Giants.
27:15Giants move on.
27:16Daniel Jones moves on.
27:18And now we see what what they can do with these quarterbacks that they have.
27:22I cover these guys in leather helmets.
27:31Think back on 86.
27:33I think the first game I did was Giants Dallas.
27:37In Dallas, Tom Landry, Bill Parcellos.
27:40Oh my God.
27:40Danny White, Bill Sims, Tony Dorsett, Herschel Walker in that game.
27:45Now here's what will blow people's minds.
27:47What was the score?
27:47Do you remember the score of the game?
27:4831-28, I believe, as Dallas won it at the end.
27:52Very close.
27:52I love it.
27:53I think.
27:54If I'm wrong, what can I tell you?
27:56I think it's 54.
27:57What's that?
27:58Was that getting it ready to be done, Danny White in 86?
28:03Yeah, Danny.
28:04Well, he was still pretty good at that point.
28:06And of course, Phil Sims would go on to win the Super Bowl and become the MVP going 22 into 25 that year.
28:13Parcellos is the first and two for Bill.
28:15Yeah.
28:15You know, we talk about Parcellos.
28:19It's fourth down here.
28:22The great Bart, the great soothsayer.
28:24You know, everybody's talking about Jackson Dart.
28:27But I'll never forget, I did a game, Jeremy Shockey was a rookie for the Giants tight end.
28:33Had a phenomenal game.
28:35Press is going wild after the game.
28:36He's the next, he's the next coming of Mark Bovaro or Kellen Winslow.
28:41Bill gets up at the podium and says for the press,
28:44boys, put away the anointing run, right?
28:49It's too early.
28:50Yeah.
28:51It's perfect.
28:52Just like him.
28:53Something happened again.
28:54The bench is going crazy on that sideline.
28:56I don't know if he's a gunner or what happened, but they are fired up.
29:02Look at him.
29:05It's a good night for the Giants.
29:06It's a great night for the Giants.
29:09This preseason, 42 to 10.
29:16Talking about the when we went to break there, the Giants who have been doing this all night
29:21at the top in the background there, the screen, the gunner from the Patriots trying to get downfield.
29:26You got a couple of Giants getting all over him.
29:27You can see the reaction from the bench.
29:31TJ Moore was part of that, who had the big interception for a touchdown.
29:34It's Drew's Wells rolling it in.
29:38Let's go to Kaylee.
29:39Well, guys, I had to find out what that reaction by the Giants bench was all about.
29:43So, Dexter Lawrence, tell me, why were you guys going wild?
29:47It was a jam up over here on one of their gunners.
29:49And, you know, that's part of the plan.
29:52You got to have joy in all moments and celebrate all moments because they're all important.
29:57You know, Giants fans are going to go wild when you get back on the field.
30:00You missed the final five games of last season with a dislocated left elbow.
30:04You say you're right where you need to be in that process of coming back.
30:08What's the most challenging part of it?
30:10The most challenging part probably just been, you know, just dealing with soreness,
30:15which is going to happen, you know, muscle tightness, things like that.
30:18But I say I'm way ahead of where from when it happened and I'm happy about that.
30:23And, you know, I'm excited to get back out on one of these games,
30:26the first game day and go ball up.
30:28Well, adding to the hype surrounding what your pass rush can do,
30:32that number three pick, Abdul Carter,
30:34what have you seen from him that makes you believe he can have an immediate impact up there with you?
30:39You know, for me with him, he got short to me game one.
30:43You know, he, you know, he practiced, he practiced hard.
30:47He has a high motor and that's what you want from guys up front.
30:50And I respect him a lot the way he works and the way he seriously takes the game
30:55and want to learn and continue to grow every day.
30:57Like I got high praises for him.
31:00But he got, he got to show up.
31:02He got to show up.
31:03The other rookie everybody's talking about Jackson Dart.
31:06What traits does he have that give you confidence he can have success in the NFL?
31:11Just his confidence in himself.
31:14To me, he's an electric guy.
31:15You know, he gets, he gets guys going.
31:18He, he talks to everybody in the locker room.
31:21He gets along to everybody in the locker room.
31:23And he, and he understands ball.
31:25And winning is, it is important to him.
31:27So that's, that's good.
31:29You had a career high nine sacks last season.
31:32And with a sack from you comes a dance.
31:34The fans here love to see, but they haven't seen it in a while.
31:37Can you give Giants fans a little taste of what's to come when you get back on the field?
31:41Yeah, I'm gonna give it to him when I get back on the field.
31:44I'm gonna give it to him.
31:45I ain't earned it yet.
31:48I had to give it a shot.
31:49I had to give it a shot.
31:50If you do it with me, maybe.
31:51I'm ready.
31:52Come on.
31:53Let's go.
31:54You're the best man.
32:00Appreciate you.
32:01Oh, there you go, guys.
32:03Big Dex.
32:04Big fella.
32:06Kaylee.
32:07Beautiful.
32:08Kaylee.
32:09They go an extra mile to get that out of him.
32:12Extra, like 20 miles.
32:14Yeah, that's not gonna be on social media at all.
32:16Oh, no, not at all.
32:17No chance.
32:18One more, one more time.
32:20Oh yeah, one more, a few thousands times.
32:24Here we go.
32:25Whoa.
32:26Let's keep Jackson with the woohoo, Nelly.
32:32Classic.
32:32Still laughing at me.
32:33Dex is still laughing at me as we watch this replay, guys.
32:37How'd I do?
32:38You did good.
32:38You got a lot of legs going, but it was good.
32:40It was good.
32:41You got the flow.
32:43Thanks for being such a good coach, man.
32:44Yeah, man.
32:51Anyway.
32:52Injured giant.
32:54Time out.
32:59Well, a sight you just don't want to see ever.
33:03TJ Moore is the man who's down.
33:06Rookie out of Mercer's had a nice night in a nice preseason.
33:09Coming off when he was a unanimous FCS All-American.
33:18And here he is, we'll show it from a wide shot, wide angle here, knee buckles.
33:24Down he goes, and now the Giants surround him.
33:27And the card comes out to take him back to the locker room.
33:32Well, it's always bad, but it really sucks in a game with 3.49 to go.
33:39Yeah, 3.49.
33:39He's had a big night.
33:40Garbage time, you know.
33:42Yeah, the pick six, the great plays on special teams.
33:45It's the third preseason game.
33:47He's in that discussion for the end of that roster of trying to make a case for himself.
33:53And he's done it, and you hate to see that.
33:56Yeah, one of those guys when the night begins, fighting for a spot.
34:01There's a little wave there, but I always hate to see it, always.
34:07Oh, and it's not only every player, but every coach that is in the NFL, college.
34:13I mean, it's what you hope to avoid.
34:15I mean, the whole goal in all this is to get out of these games without any injuries.
34:22And it's been a fairly clean game tonight with the exception of this last play.
34:30That one moment when Dart had to go into the tent because of a possible concussion.
34:36But he was in and out of the tent and warp speed.
34:41And now we'll play it to the finish here as the Patriots come to the line of scrimmage at the 25 after that punt.
34:47That one.
34:50Hey, Mike's 48.
34:51The Mike's 48.
34:52Here we go.
34:53I'll go.
34:54But 18.
34:55Why is that?
34:58Keep it on the ground.
34:58Keep the clock going.
35:02Take us to the finish line.
35:03Yeah, Woolridge has had some moments that where he's been in sync and in rhythm.
35:11Right now, he's just 10 at 20 for 82 yards.
35:14Touchdown and a pick.
35:18And who knows?
35:19I mean, time will tell when it comes to, you know, Drake may obviously Josh Dobbs and
35:23Woolridge.
35:24They have currently listed as three.
35:26They wanted to give him the entire game.
35:27And, you know, he's not working with any starters up front or anybody around him.
35:33But the skill spots.
35:37Drake may who will make she action at home
35:40against Las Vegas in the opening.
35:45Nice crease here.
35:46And a pick up at 14 for Shane Watts.
35:50He's carried the ball now 10 times for 32 yards tonight.
35:56Think about players who have flashed tonight.
35:58Dart, obviously, with the confidence in the command.
36:01Tommy DeVito came in.
36:02And, boy, did he.
36:04He looked outstanding at 17 at 20 for 198 and three touchdowns.
36:10TJ Moore, I would say, even though he went down with that injury, boy, did he.
36:14He looked great.
36:15And then I think the tackle, the rookie tackle continues to flash for the Giants.
36:20Marcus Bowe, who's a right tackle, and he played a lot of left tackle, and he could ultimately end up being there.
36:26Maybe there's swing tackle in the regular season.
36:31And that run there will take us to the two-minute warning Midlife Stadium here in East Rutherford,
36:38home of the Giants and the Jets.
36:42And a look at our season coming up, season number four on Prime Video.
36:46This is the beginning Thursday night football on Prime.
36:53That is insanity.
36:55Can you believe this?
36:57Made history tonight.
36:58Yes.
36:58We ain't done yet.
37:00No, we're not.
37:03The NFL's new must-see TV.
37:10So we start week two this year, the 11th night of September, Washington at Green Bay.
37:15The following week heading to Buffalo, the Dolphins will be there.
37:18Then out west for Seattle and Arizona, 49ers and the Rams, week five.
37:24And we're back here.
37:26Week six is Philadelphia.
37:28Saquon Barkley and the Super Bowl champs come to town and we'll look down the line.
37:33Black Friday is Chicago or Philadelphia.
37:35Christmas night will be Denver at Kansas City.
37:39Good slate of games for year four on Prime Video.
37:42Yeah, it really, really is.
37:44I think it's probably the best slate, at least on paper.
37:46You never know how things turn out as we sit here before the games get started.
37:51It's a good-looking schedule.
37:52You know, think about 25 with some of these storylines, some of the things you're looking
37:56forward to.
37:56Jaden Daniels, who we'll get a look at in our first game.
37:59Year two with him and the Commanders.
38:00Excited to see that.
38:01Ben Johnson leaves Detroit to go work with Caleb Williams.
38:05That'll be exciting to see within that same division.
38:07What's going to happen with Micah Parsons and Trey Hendrickson and Terry McLaurin and
38:12their contracts between now and week one?
38:15J.J. McCarthy taking over at Minnesota.
38:18And I think, of course, can Philly repeat with the way they keep building that roster?
38:23Third and three.
38:24Here's Watts.
38:25Final minute coming up.
38:26So you're going back into the college world before we see you again.
38:30Yes, sir.
38:31What do you think happens at North Carolina this year?
38:34What do you think?
38:35I'm going to see them week one.
38:37I'm excited to have a much better feel after I call their game with TCU on Labor Day night.
38:45But it's what an opportunity to see the best to ever do it in the NFL.
38:50Come down to college and try to get a program that, you know, Mac Brown had a few decent years.
38:54But Carolina football, they've had some great individual players, but not necessarily great seasons.
39:01I'm fired up to see what he can do, you know, to bring his system and the way he coaches
39:07and what he demands.
39:08Mike Lombardi there is his GM.
39:10There's a lot to see.
39:14You know, a lot of people think he's going to do well.
39:15A favorable schedule, you know.
39:17What do you get a feel for his recruiting class, how he's done?
39:21They brought in college now.
39:23You can bring in so many players.
39:25It's not like you're signing 20 or 25 with the new rules.
39:29You can do an overhaul of the roster, and they've done that.
39:32So, I'm optimistic.
39:34You know, I think he'll do well.
39:36But it's a really tough start for him to open up against a very athletic TCU team.
39:41I think they're an underdog in the game, even though they're at home.
39:45You know, I did a lot of college football in the 70s and 80s before going to Monday night.
39:50I think Chapel Hill, it was Keenan Stadium.
39:53Yeah, it still is.
39:54I loved it.
39:56Oh, what a setting.
39:57Yeah, great setting.
39:58Just the whole campus is beautiful.
40:01And I'm sure he's loving the lifestyle.
40:03Of course, there's Drake May, who was the quarterback there just a couple years ago.
40:06But I'll give you a full report after I see him Labor Day night.
40:11Call me Collette.
40:15All right, man.
40:16Yeah.
40:17On to the regular season.
40:19That'll do it for the preseason, at least for these two teams.
40:22A lot of other teams in action over the next couple of days.
40:26But the Giants win it by a score of 42 to 10.
40:29Dart looks good.
40:30Winston looks good.
40:30Davina looks great.
40:33And the Giants go 3-0 in preseason.
40:35The three wins matches with their regular season win total was last year.
40:413-14.
40:49So hang with us now, Carissa and Fitz to wrap things up.
40:54The TNF post-game show coming up right after these messages.
41:13Bye.
41:14Bye.
41:14Bye.
