00:01That's what they'll do.
00:02Wilson gets hit, but I think he did enough to get a first down.
00:08He took a shot, but he maneuvered his body to slide through
00:12and I think get a first.
00:17Just on the sneak, he's looking to go right like he did,
00:19and he met Armstrong first.
00:21Fortunately, it kind of propelled him a bit forward,
00:24and I do love that competitiveness by Russ.
00:29That's what he's always shown throughout his career.
00:32They needed that.
00:35Now they've got to capitalize on it.
00:38Go for it. Just take the gutsy move on your own 30.
00:41Now you've got to go do something.
00:43If you haven't seen many shots down the field,
00:45this could be a good opportunity.
00:48Wilson, looking for time. There's no time.
00:51Just tucks away and runs.
00:53He's going to turn it into a nice positive play.
00:55Out to the 37 he goes that time.
00:57Going to pick up six or so.
00:59I've got five minutes to go in this third quarter.
01:01Yeah, and they thinking,
01:03okay, it's hard to drive the ball, obviously.
01:05What do we got to do?
01:06We've got to try to play action pass,
01:08because that's the way to separate the defense
01:10in order to create some more explosive plays.
01:12But, again, he just looks very uncertain back there
01:16in the pocket as he should be.
01:18Tracy tries to get to the edge.
01:21You know, they're working his way out.
01:22They're going to be close.
01:24See if they put him out of bounds.
01:25It'll be, oh, it'll be a first down.
01:27So Tracy does enough.
01:29Move the chains and back-to-back first downs
01:32for a team that had two the entire game
01:34outside of that one big drive.
01:35And for the commanders, Mikey Sainer still is down now.
01:40Looks like he just got back up, so.
01:46Such a great, tough, young player.
01:49One of the favorite players that I saw last season.
01:51Maybe he went to Michigan.
01:53That gives me a little bias, KB.
01:54I was going to say, you probably,
01:55there's a reason there for you.
01:56It is the greatest football school in America.
01:58Okay, here we go.
01:59Sorry to all my Notre Dame friends
02:00who are probably listening.
02:01I'm just, support my program.
02:04Go Bluey, the tough loss last night.
02:06And Mikey Sainer still is one of the guys
02:08who a couple years ago
02:11brought him to a national championship.
02:12And they picked him pretty high
02:13because he has all the right traits
02:15of being a winner, a team player.
02:17He does all the dirty work.
02:19I love him as a young player.
02:20And a great, great pick by Adam Peters here
02:23in this commander's organization.
02:30First down, Giants.
02:31Four-man rush.
02:32Wilson floating around for Slayton.
02:34And it's incomplete.
02:36His hand up looking for a flag.
02:38There is none.
02:39Slayton doesn't have a catch today
02:41as Noah Igbenogany,
02:42who came in for Saber still,
02:43makes a nice play.
02:45Yeah, those are the ones
02:46they got to take advantage.
02:47They finally get a little man coverage
02:48and he's got his number two.
02:50He got a little face mask.
02:52He had Slayton matched up on Igbenogany.
02:55And yeah, they missed that call.
02:57Had his face mask.
02:58He couldn't quite.
02:59Yeah, multiple penalties there.
03:01Commanders get a break.
03:03A big one, too.
03:05A big one, too.
03:16Russell Wilson's hammered.
03:18Ball's floating up there.
03:19Neighbors!
03:20Adjustment!
03:21And he saved it for a first down.
03:23What awareness by Malik Neighbors
03:25as Russell Wilson got smashed.
03:27And it's a completion for a first.
03:30Yeah, I love the route.
03:31I mean, incredible.
03:32But hopefully we can see this replay
03:35of Russ getting rid of this ball.
03:37Malik sees the ball, goes up high,
03:39points it on Igbenogany.
03:41But watch Russ stand in the pocket.
03:43Free rusher Martin.
03:45Holy cow.
03:46Who wants to play quarterback in the NFL?
03:48Man, oh man.
03:50The Neighbors hauls it in for 20.
03:53Cam Scadaboo in the game now for the Giants
03:56in the backfield.
03:59Fake it to him.
04:00Pressure from Wise.
04:01Wilson going deep, unloading.
04:03Flag flies down there.
04:05Incomplete.
04:06Neighbors couldn't get his hands up
04:08with Sabre still all over him.
04:10And now we've got flags on the field.
04:12Let's see what this is.
04:18Man.
04:19I tell you, what a play by Russ
04:21getting out of the pocket
04:22and throwing that ball down the field,
04:24giving Neighbors a chance.
04:25Maybe like a defensive hold, Dean?
04:30Yeah, I think this is going to be a defensive hold.
04:32First down for the Giants here.
04:35You know, he hasn't had the time to launch that deep ball,
04:39just standing in the pockets at that time.
04:40Try to roll out and do it.
04:42Sure.
04:43Buy a little time and allow Neighbors to get downfield.
04:45Sameer still comes right back in.
04:47Prior to the pass.
04:48Holding.
04:49Defense number two.
04:50Five-yard penalty.
04:51Automatic first down.
04:52Yeah, what do you think happened there?
04:53Because it looked like, honestly, it was going to be an almost catchable ball.
04:57Yeah.
04:58I don't know if he tripped or was it an awkward step.
05:00I don't know if he was necessarily the primary receiver.
05:03He's got Lattimore and Slayton, and then he kind of stair steps them.
05:09That's where Lattimore says, no, I'm going to use my hands to cover you.
05:12But then Russ looking deep.
05:14He runs with such elusiveness and speed.
05:18Gave this guy a chance.
05:20Neighbors just wasn't expecting it.
05:23Impressive.
05:24Wilson over to Meno.
05:25Good ball.
05:26Theo Johnson makes the adjustment to make the catch.
05:28And he's inside the 20.
05:30We got a penalty.
05:32Commander's saying it's coming back.
05:35Holding.
05:36Offense number 55.
05:38Ten-yard penalty.
05:39We play first down.
05:40That's on James Hudson.
05:42The left tackle.
05:44A little ticky-tack call there.
05:46I don't know.
05:47It seemed to get away with that.
05:49Here he is at the bottom.
05:50Armstrong on Hudson.
05:52The left tackle for the Giants.
05:55Kind of...
05:56I'm not sure about that.
05:58Yeah.
05:59It didn't look like a hole to me.
06:01They're kind of letting him play in some areas,
06:03and they really don't let him play very much.
06:06Go!
06:08Wilson 20.
06:09Wilson.
06:10Going to go deep again.
06:11Far side.
06:12Neighbors.
06:13Incomplete.
06:14And a comeback for it there,
06:15as the rookie Amos on the coverage.
06:18Well, they definitely had some opportunities down the field.
06:35Just hasn't been the crispest of throws.
06:37Neighbors on Amos, the rookie.
06:39Kind of gets both hands on it.
06:43For areas where Neighbors did such a great job last year,
06:46and...
06:48love to see him come down with that ball.
06:52Diamond!
06:53Diamond!
06:54Hawaii!
06:55Hawaii!
06:56Let's go!
07:00Wilson.
07:01In a sea of commanders close to the schedule.
07:02He passes off one tackle.
07:03And it gets down to the 38.
07:16So now a third down and long.
07:19Guessing this is four down territory.
07:20How do you view this right here?
07:21Possible.
07:22You are, you know, 37-yard line.
07:24You are still thinking about points at this point,
07:26because even if you get a field goal,
07:28you're in one-score game with the two-point conversion.
07:31But you are right on the fringe of field goal range.
07:34So whatever happens,
07:36Russell can't do anything that would move the ball backwards.
07:40No sacks.
07:41Don't hold on to the ball.
07:42Catch it and get it out.
07:49Third long.
07:51Wilson in trouble.
07:52Tempted.
07:53It's incomplete.
07:54Saron Payne,
07:55who is right in Russell Wilson's face to make the play.
08:04Now, Russ just not much of a need to escape the pocket.
08:08He just bailed to the right.
08:09Nothing there with Tracy.
08:11Wagner was going to tackle him,
08:14probably for a loss of yards anyway.
08:16But that was just Russ not really trusting his protection.
08:21And now, Gano comes in, who...
08:27Here's Gano, 55 yards away.
08:29Kick is...
08:31Up and through.
08:34Graham Gano makes it a one-score game with a long one.
08:3955 yards.
08:40He's had a couple of injury-marred seasons,
08:42and that gets the Giants a little closer.
08:47For as bad as it's been, KB, it's a one-score game.
08:50I know.
08:51That's kind of the crazy thing.
08:52Washington just hasn't been able to take advantage of their field position.
08:57But...
09:00Tell you what.
09:01Think about this.
09:02They go for that fourth down and deepen their own territory.
09:03Yeah.
09:04Their own 30.
09:05They convert it.
09:06And you know what?
09:07That's a victory at this point.
09:08You get something out of it.
09:09Still the penalty, which kind of killed the drive.
09:11But it is a one-score game in the third quarter
09:14with a lot of time left here.
09:16Yeah, and the two instances last season where these teams played,
09:19they were close games as well.
09:20They were.
09:21So it's kind of one of these division matchups.
09:24Neither team is probably playing as well as they could play.
09:29It's pretty obvious.
09:30Giants have some work to do, certainly in their run game.
09:33But they're showing some fight.
09:35They've definitely shown fight on both sides of the ball the Giants have.
09:39Russell Wilson just using that positive energy,
09:41trying to keep the Giants in it.
09:43They get a 14-6 game.
09:55And now it's taken by Luke McCaffrey.
09:57On the return.
09:58McCaffrey slips a tackle.
10:00Good return.
10:01Up across the 35 to 38 where he charges forward.
10:04Really good by Luke McCaffrey getting his first touch here today.
10:09You know, meanwhile, think about today.
10:11You know, Giants done a pretty good job.
10:13You know, they've got three sacks.
10:15Trying to contain Jayden Daniels.
10:17Burns has two of them.
10:20And it feels like the commanders have controlled so much of this game.
10:26But, you know, they've done a decent job in key spots,
10:30especially at the end of the half where they got a break
10:32because that penalty by Washington, the 10-second runoff,
10:34they've wasted a golden opportunity.
10:37And here they are back on offense with Jayden Daniels.
10:40And he was up!
10:43Look into Raw.
10:44There's nothing there.
10:46Kayvon Thibodeau was there.
10:47So was Abdul Carter.
10:49Yeah, that springs a little life into that Giants defense as well.
10:5414 points almost to the end of the third quarter.
10:58It's been a very good performance by this defense.
11:00Good tackling.
11:01Good awareness.
11:02Karosky-Meritt.
11:03There's just no place for him to go.
11:05Back to long yardage situations here for the commanders.
11:09I got 53!
11:10I got 53!
11:11I got 53!
11:12I got 53!
11:13I got 53!
11:14I got 53!
11:15I got 53!
11:16I got 53!
11:17I got 53!
11:18I got 53!
11:19Pierce from Lawrence gets rid of it!
11:21High it incompletes.
11:22And now multiple flags, though from the secondary.
11:27Yeah little hold on Ertz down the field, tried to play action pass.
11:33Similar to what happened to him earlier in the game,
11:36Grabbed as he was breaking out of the out cut.
11:40Right there.
11:41Prior to the pass, holding defense number 27.
11:45Five-yard penalty.
11:46Automatic first down.
11:49That's on Tyler Newbin.
11:52It's a tough coverage matchup for these safeties on Earth.
11:55He's so slick.
11:56You know, it's like he's so smooth and he transitions so well.
12:00And then when he makes it look like he's going across the field
12:03and then he snaps it back to the outside,
12:06kind of gets bear hugged there by the defender.
12:08Kind of rebirthed for Burns last year.
12:11Injury three and played great.
12:12That's a tough set here tonight.
12:13It's Debo Samuel who makes the catch.
12:16And throws his way forward out to the 44 for Debo.
12:19He's got his fifth catch here today.
12:22Going to get Shane Bowen's defense
12:24and his second-year Giants defensive coordinator
12:26took over for Wink Martindale a couple years ago.
12:29We knew their defensive line was going to be a strength.
12:32We knew they improved their secondary.
12:33It's just how much could they get help from the offense?
12:38Give them a little breather today.
12:44Why are you going to be the final play in the quarter?
12:47If Daniels on the list sees it, escapes right away.
12:49James Daniels diving forward, but he's short.
12:52So it'll be a third down and one likely
12:54when we come back to start the fourth quarter.
12:59A lot of misdirection.
13:02Maybe not, man.
13:03Oh, there's something.
13:05Hey, what's up?
13:07Trying to get him to jump.
13:09A little veteran move.
13:10Like that.
13:10Give him a run at the end of the quarter.
13:12Why not?
13:12Yeah, the second-year veteran.
13:14Well, I'll tell you what.
13:15Jane Daniels has some fun.
13:16He and Abdul Carter going back and forth.
13:19Today, I see what you're doing.
13:21Take it easy.
13:21Got a one-score game here.
13:2414-6 Washington after three.
13:26Hey, hey, my baby!
13:33It's over.
13:35I just needed to tell you this face-to-face.
13:37Oh, don't say it.

14:17Soto leads the Mets
14:18against Harper and the rival Phillies

14:24It's a special Baseball Night in America
14:26Thursday on Fox.
14:29If Jerry knew football
14:31the way Tom Brady knows football,
14:33he would in no way be able to handle it.
14:37Tom Brady knowledge is 10 pounds of football
14:40in a 5-pound bag of Jerry.
14:44Come on, man.
14:45You've got to look off the safety before you...
14:47When the safety rotates down,
14:49just rip the seam.
14:53Nobody knows football...
14:55Come on, we can do better.
14:56...like Tom Brady.
14:57It's not that hard.
14:59Starts Saturday strong
15:00with Big Noon Saturday.
15:04Quarterback Dante Moore
15:06and Oregon
15:07take on Northwestern.
15:10Big Noon Saturday
15:12on Fox.
15:13And they're off.
15:31Oh, no!
15:33Oh, my God!
15:34Welcome to 99 to Beat.
15:43Welcome back to NFL Kickoff Weekend
15:48presented by YouTube TV
15:50here at Northwest Stadium.
15:51Landover, Maryland.
15:53We start the fourth quarter.
15:54It's the Commanders
15:55in front of the Giants.
15:5614-6.
15:58Big third and one
15:59for Washington right here.
16:00What?
16:11Daniel to throw.
16:12Good throw outside.
16:13Samuel is tackled!
16:15Oh, what a play by Drew Phillips
16:18to save it in his fourth down.
16:22Wow.
16:23Go backwards in that situation.
16:25They tried to disguise it,
16:26but Phillips wasn't going for it.
16:29And they love Phillips
16:30as a nickel defender.
16:33Dabo thinks
16:33he can be one of the best
16:35nickels in the league,
16:36and he showed it there,
16:37bringing down Debo Samuel,
16:40who is no easy tackle
16:41in the open field.
16:42I mean, he gives up 40 pounds
16:44in that matchup.
16:44That was really impressive
16:46by Phillips,
16:46a second-year player,
16:47former third-round draft pick.
16:49And that is monstrous.
16:50The Giants would get it back.
16:53The third and one stop.
16:57Wysiewski on a short kick now.
16:59We'll take it just before the 10.
17:01Just a short little gain there
17:03where the Giants will take over.
17:09You know, Malik Neighbors today
17:10for the Giants
17:11told you about the year he had last year.
17:13Nine targets today,
17:13but only four from 54.
17:15How's Washington done it?
17:17Well, they've doubled him a few times.
17:19He's had some opportunities
17:20down the field
17:21and hasn't quite come up
17:22with the catches.
17:24This one was underthrown
17:25here on Latamore.
17:27Yeah, he's frustrated
17:28because, you know,
17:29sometimes as a rookie,
17:30you don't understand
17:31that, you know,
17:31when you're running routes,
17:32you don't understand
17:32what's going on
17:33in the backfield as well.
17:35So you get frustrated
17:36that, you know,
17:37you don't have quite the
17:38start maybe you want.
17:40But he's, believe me,
17:41Russ is looking at him
17:42on every play.
17:43Kafka's looking down
17:44on his call sheet
17:45trying to figure out
17:46how to get him the ball.
17:50There's Wilson to throw.
17:51Got some time.
17:52Near side neighbors.
17:53High point.
17:54Great grab.
17:55And a first down
17:56with a penalty flag
17:57coming down as well.
18:00Working against Trey Amos,
18:01the rookie,
18:02but neighbors
18:02doing what he does best.
18:04Before the pass was thrown,
18:05holding defense number 23.
18:07Penalties decline.
18:09Result of the play
18:09is the first down.
18:11Now, I love this play.
18:13Decent route.
18:14Getting off coverage
18:15here on Amos,
18:15the rookie.
18:16And then high points it.
18:19And then Russ is able
18:21just to make
18:22a very decisive throw.
18:23As a quarterback,
18:24I always like to play fake,
18:26draw everyone
18:26in the line of scrimmage,
18:28and know that my receiver
18:29and the DB
18:30were the only two players
18:31out there
18:31on the outside part
18:32of the field.
18:33They go empty backfield
18:34with Tracy Lund.
18:35That is a wide out now
18:36at the top of the screen.
18:40One-man rush.
18:41Wilson.
18:41Nothing there.
18:42Takes off and runs.
18:43Russell Wilson
18:44still has the legs,
18:45and he's got a first down.
18:47Up to the 43 he goes.
18:49The longest run of the day
18:50for the Giants.
18:52They've had pretty good
18:53pass rush discipline,
18:55but when you run up the field,
18:57and as soon as Russ
18:58feels any space,
19:00he's going to take that.
19:02He's been doing that
19:03since he was in Pop Warner.
19:05Loves being there
19:06right through the middle
19:07of the pocket.
19:08Big game there.
19:09Oh, no, no, no, no.
19:10Go!
19:11Go!
19:20Wilson.
19:21Now throws a far and deep
19:23to nowhere as well.
19:24Couldn't find it in what he liked.
19:25It's incomplete.
19:26We've got another game break.
19:27Let's check in with
19:27Carissa Thompson.
19:28Thank you, Kevin.
19:29Steelers down two.
19:30Aaron Rodgers
19:31has happened quite the debut
19:32against his former team.
19:33He throws his fourth touchdown
19:34of the day.
19:35This one to Calvin Austin
19:36from 18 yards out.
19:38Steelers in front,
19:38but Jets currently
19:39in the red zone.
19:40Kev?
19:41Wow, four-touchdown day
19:43for Rodgers
19:43and his Steelers debut.
19:45There you go.
19:47How about this?
19:48Coulter crushing Miami.
19:50Daniel Jones,
19:50the former Giants,
19:51257 yards
19:52and three touchdowns.
19:55Well, it is Miami.
19:57Jeez.
19:59The new Giant quarterback
20:00trying to lead him back,
20:01Russell Wilson.
20:01Underneath he goes.
20:02Tracy.
20:02He's way up to the 49-year left.
20:06Doesn't the Giants
20:07have a little something,
20:08a little something cooking here,
20:09at least trying to.
20:11Yeah, that just Washington
20:12on offense
20:12hasn't quite had
20:14the knockout blows yet
20:15on offense,
20:15so they've kept it,
20:17not that the Giants' offense
20:18has performed great,
20:19but they're just
20:20chipping away
20:21and they haven't turned
20:22the ball over all day.
20:23That's something
20:24that's really been a problem
20:25for this offense
20:27over a long period of time
20:28was giving the ball
20:30to the other team
20:30on short fields
20:31and that's really
20:32what's kept them
20:33in the game today.
20:40Third and four.
20:42Wilson over the middle.
20:44Ball is loose!
20:45Picked up by Washington!
20:48Bobby Wagner recovers it
20:49after Reeves forced it out.
20:53Now let's confirm
20:54was it a catch
20:55in the first place?
20:57Now they're saying
20:58maybe not.
21:00It's that football move.
21:01Let's see.
21:02Good read.
21:03Tracy's trying to bring it down.
21:05One, two, turn.
21:06Oh, I don't know.
21:08Dean, is that turn enough?
21:09After discussion,
21:09the pass on the field
21:10has been ruled incomplete.
21:11Okay, so they change it.
21:12I was going to ask you
21:13is that enough
21:14and I guess not,
21:14that turn.
21:15What you're looking for,
21:16does he tuck and turn it
21:18or does he take
21:18an additional step?
21:20He's trying,
21:20but he never completes
21:21those acts.
21:22So I like it
21:23as an incomplete pass.
21:24Dean Blandino,
21:25our rules expert,
21:26checking in.
21:29I love having a rules expert
21:30over here with us all day.
21:32Makes us look so much smarter.
21:33You never get called
21:34an expert in anything.
21:35Really does.
21:39It's called glazing, Dean.
21:41Glazing.
21:41That's what the kids call it.
21:42Glazing.
21:43Keep it coming.
21:44Dean, frequent listener
21:46to TKA.
21:47Corrected it in the first
21:49half of this game.
21:50Here's a punt, Giants.
21:53Down inside the five
21:54and rolls in the end zone
21:55for a touchback.
21:57It took a while,
21:58but I got back to it.
22:00All right,
22:00so the Commanders
22:01have it up by a score.
22:02Fourth quarter action,
22:03week one,
22:04NFL's back, baby.

24:17Today's game on Fox
24:19is sponsored by Capital One.
24:21What's in your wallet?
24:25Welcome back to NFL Kickoff Weekend
24:27presented by YouTube TV.
24:30Commanders get it back.
24:32Up 14 to 6.
24:33And in this second half,
24:34Giants defense,
24:35you see it there,
24:36they've only allowed 53 total yards.
24:38Just since that miscue
24:39at the end of the half
24:40where they failed to get any points
24:41and intentional grounding
24:43ran out the clock.
24:44The commander's offense
24:44has been in neutral.
24:46Can they get it in and go in here?
24:49It's Daniels with a lot of time.
24:51Can't find it.
24:52It wasn't gonna run it.
24:53Good move.
24:54And Daniels out
24:55across the 30
24:56and the first down.
25:00That's a nice scramble.
25:03He did have McLaurin open
25:04on the right side
25:06of the screen here
25:07just because I'm looking over there.
25:09But when he feels that open up,
25:12he's gonna take it.
25:12He's got so much confidence
25:14in his legs
25:15and you're not gonna get him
25:16on the ground.
25:17Yeah, quick 14 yards for Daniels.
25:1858 rushing today for him.
25:21One touchdown in the air.
25:26Nichols in the game.
25:27Gets a ring to carry.
25:28He's gonna pick up two.
25:34Again, another opportunity
25:36for this commander offense
25:38to go down
25:38and make it
25:39back to a
25:40two-score game
25:42which again
25:42would feel like
25:43a big relief
25:43for Coach Kingsbury
25:45and DQ
25:46who've had their chances
25:48just haven't been able
25:50to string together
25:51enough good plays
25:52to wear this defense out
25:53a little bit here
25:54in the second half.
25:55Ready, what's up?
25:55Ready, what's up?
25:59Good catch, Zach Hurts.
26:01Throw was a little behind
26:02him but what an adjustment
26:03by the veteran
26:04to haul it in
26:04for a first down.
26:06And these intermediate throws
26:08which Jaden Daniels
26:10was talking about
26:11improving the offseason.
26:12One of the guys
26:13he's gonna find
26:13all season long
26:14is Zach Hurts.
26:16He's a great target
26:17over the middle.
26:19He's got great hands.
26:20He's gonna come down
26:22with those
26:22you put it in his area
26:24he's catching it.
26:36Here's that quote.
26:39Some of the tough sledding
26:40up to the 50.
26:46Here's some of those
26:46intermediate passes
26:47I was talking about.
26:49So he's out of the pocket
26:50and finds Debo Samuel
26:51behind the defense.
26:52More zone coverage.
26:54I love this stand
26:55in the pocket
26:55from the 50-yard line
26:56and just throwing
26:57a fastball there
26:58to McLaurin.
26:59Right over the ball here.
27:02More zone coverage.
27:04That's what it's gotta be.
27:05You gotta take
27:06what the defense gives you.
27:07If they're gonna give you
27:08some of those openings
27:09by playing zone coverage
27:10find your receiver
27:11get the ball out of your hands
27:12and just take so much pressure
27:14off the entire offensive line.
27:16A lot of time here.
27:18Can't find anyone now.
27:20Here comes Brian Burns
27:21and a flag to boot
27:22and he throws it away.
27:23Maybe we get a hold there.
27:25Burns has already
27:26a couple sacks
27:27in today's game
27:28and it is gonna be
27:29on Washington.
27:31He had quite a bit
27:31of time there
27:32in the pocket.
27:34Holding.
27:35Offense number 72.
27:3610-yard penalty.
27:39Replay second down.
27:40Yeah, there's Burns here
27:41who's just in the end
27:43not a great matchup
27:44on the rookie Connerly
27:45and I know
27:46it's a lot of high expectations
27:47for him
27:48but you're talking about
27:48one of the best
27:49pass rushers in the NFL.
27:51One-on-one.
27:54You know,
27:54at some point
27:54that ball's gotta come out
27:55of Daniel's hands.
27:56To Connerly
28:03from Oregon
28:04first rounder
28:05first team all Big Ten
28:06never played right tackle
28:07in his life
28:08but he won the job here
28:10second and 17
28:11after that penalty
28:12design quarterback run.
28:25Daniels bounces off
28:26a defender
28:27up across midfield.
28:29Wow.
28:29How did he do that?
28:31Got a little shug
28:32from Nick Allegretti
28:33and just kept on chugging
28:35and Daniels has himself
28:36a nice little run.
28:38I like the audible
28:38to the quarterback draw.
28:40I never did that
28:40once in my career.
28:41He bounces off
28:43Allegretti
28:43and easy way
28:46to pick up yards
28:46when you have so much
28:47confidence in your legs
28:48and I do love those plays
28:49as long as he's not
28:50getting hit.
28:52He got hit by his own guy.
28:53Yeah,
28:53at that point.
28:54Do you never all
28:55have had the quarterback
28:56run before?
28:57Unless it was trying
28:58to gain six inches.
29:00Nothing more than that.
29:02After that 12-year-old run
29:04it's 35.
29:07Four-man rush.
29:09Scott Todd
29:09over the middle.
29:10He goes
29:10and it's caught.
29:11Debo Samuel's
29:12got a first down.
29:19A great route
29:20by Debo Samuel.
29:22This is what they were
29:23expecting when they
29:24traded for him
29:24to become the player
29:26that he was for the
29:27Niners on Holland.
29:29And one of those
29:29aspects with McLaurin
29:31holding in
29:32was
29:33I think
29:33Samuel and Daniels
29:35got a lot of extra time
29:37together.
29:37So sometimes you've got to
29:38look at the bright spot.
29:39McLaurin's not there
29:40in the preseason.
29:42So let me develop
29:43some chemistry
29:43with Debo Samuel.
29:45He's done that today.
29:46Debo seven catches,
29:4877 yards.
29:49It's a pretty good way
29:50for those two to start
29:51their connection.
29:51Yeah, he's had a nice day
29:53and we get a timeout
29:54on the field.
29:55Washington calls timeout.
30:04Gives us a good chance
30:04to tell you that next Sunday
30:05it is
30:06a big game.
30:07Super Bowl
30:0859 rematch.
30:10Eagles,
30:10Chiefs
30:10in KC.
30:11The Kansas City Chiefs
30:16have won
30:17Super Bowl
30:1857.
30:19Hertz
30:20has dropped
30:21an absolute
30:22dime.
30:23Eagles fly
30:24in Super Bowl
30:2559.
30:26The NFL
30:27on Fox
30:27is back.
30:30Sure are
30:31two of the last
30:32three Super Bowls
30:33actually.
30:33Chiefs got them
30:33in Super Bowl
30:3457.
30:35Eagles returned
30:35the favor last year.
30:37So that's the game.
30:38A special two-hour
30:38edition of Fox
30:39NFL Sunday
30:40pregame show
30:40live on location
30:41in Kansas City
30:4211 Eastern
30:43next Sunday
30:45on Fox.
30:47After that 18-yarder
30:48on third down
30:48Adebo Samuel
30:49Commanders
30:50already in field goal range
30:52are looking for more.
30:53They tend to go
30:53in the game.
30:55Up by eight
30:56on the Giants.
30:57It's Daniels.
30:58Quick drop.
30:58Fires over the middle
31:00and incomplete.
31:02Almost
31:03for Samuel.
31:04Those are the ones
31:05and you can see
31:06Jaden Daniels
31:07smiling a little bit.
31:09It's like
31:10six inches away.
31:11That's been
31:11three or four
31:12of those today.
31:14And those are the ones
31:15that are the backbreakers.
31:16You know,
31:16when you hit those
31:17they just do so much
31:19damage to the defense
31:20and Daniels
31:22know he
31:23missed one
31:24right there.
31:24offense number 30
31:36five-yard penalty
31:37second down.
31:39Someone had a laugh
31:39about that.
31:41Let's move it back.
31:42That was a veteran
31:43little okey-doke.
31:43He tried to make it look
31:44like he's going in motion
31:45on the false start.
31:46It did.
31:47It did.
31:47You know,
31:48it's funny though.
31:48You're talking about
31:49Debo Samuel and the
31:50you know,
31:50what they're hoping to get.
31:52What they're hoping to get
31:53is a 2021 version
31:54of Debo Samuel.
31:55He was an all-pro.
31:56He had nearly
31:571,800 scrimmage yards,
31:5814 TDs,
31:59rush pass.
32:00He was amazing.
32:01That's who they're hoping
32:02to get from the 49ers
32:04who were willing to
32:04par with them
32:05for a fifth-round pick.
32:06He's had a good debut.
32:10That's for sure.
32:13Pressure up the middle.
32:14Daniel sees it,
32:15gets rid of it at Eckler.
32:16Good move.
32:17Austin Eckler cuts back.
32:18Spinning it south of 25.
32:20Still going.
32:21Austin Eckler for a first down.
32:23That was sensational.
32:31And the Giants have had
32:32done such a good job
32:34making these tackles.
32:35And on that one,
32:36Eckler got a little bit
32:38of revenge.
32:40Bouncing off tackles.
32:42O'Kara Kay coming in
32:43a few times.
32:45Nobody can quite get him
32:46on the ground.
32:48Three or four missed tackles
32:50on one play.
32:51Tremendous effort there
32:52by Eckler.
32:58Play clock winding down.
33:03Going to give it to Samuel.
33:04End or out?
33:05Looking for blocks.
33:06Gets him.
33:07Samuel is in.
33:10Touchdown,
33:11Commanders!
33:11The competitiveness getting here.
33:29Smelling the end zone.
33:32Oh, yeah.
33:33He's in.
33:34Get that pylon cam.
33:37Looking right down the line.
33:39Kingsbury with the fun play call
33:41right here.
33:42Getting Samuel on the carry
33:44into open space.
33:45And when they get just an edge
33:47on Samuel,
33:49it's just not enough.
33:50You've got to square him up.
33:51And great play call,
33:53but even better execution.
33:55Debo Samuel coming over
33:57after a few down seasons.
33:59Don't look down to me anymore,
34:01KB.
34:01He looks pretty good.
34:02number one in the burgundy and gold.
34:06Commanders with the Samuel touchdown
34:08up 21-6.

35:24Then it's straight-two conditioning.
35:25How I show up here is how I show up on game days.
35:29Okay,
35:29that was clean.
35:30Then I studied my playbook.
35:31Got to stay sharp on both sides of the ball.
35:34Quick pose for the cameras,
35:35and it's to the lake where I keep my mental game strong.
35:39Got to keep my energy right.
35:40Grab a Celsius.
35:41Now what?
35:45America's game of the week might be the game of the year.
35:49Game of the moment.
35:50How are we playing for?
35:50Eagles.
35:51My goodness.
35:53Chiefs.
35:53Yeah!
35:54In a Super Bowl rematch,
35:56and Fox is taking over Kansas City
35:58for a pregame show like never before.
36:01Next Sunday on Fox.
36:04You've got the game.
36:06Uh-huh.
36:06Get live, local, and primetime games on mobile
36:08with NFL+.
36:09Our departure has been delayed.
36:14Yeah!
36:16NFL+, keep the NFL in reach.
36:19Well, you look at old RFK Stadium,
36:23home to five NFC Championship games for Washington,
36:27and so many great memories of Stans used to shake.
36:29That fan base, incredible.
36:31Well, moments ago, this place is bumping.
36:34They land over today.
36:35It's the most excitement they've had for a home opener
36:37in a really, a really long time.
36:39They added thousands of season tickets,
36:40and there's a, for the first time,
36:44Washington football feels like it's back, right?
36:46Commander's up 21 to 6.
36:48Debo Samuel with a touchdown run.
36:50He's had an excellent debut.
36:52And, you know, with that,
36:54you look at the old RFK.
36:55It's currently being taken down,
36:57but what is about to happen is a new stadium
36:59that'll be built on the site of RFK.
37:01Wow.
37:01Look at that beauty.
37:0265,000 seats with a transparent roof.
37:05You can see the Capitol building
37:07in the corner of the end zone,
37:10and Josh Harris,
37:11who has taken over this team in 2023
37:13and has just really reinvigorated things here,
37:17changing the culture,
37:18hiring Adam Peters and Dan Quinn,
37:21and now going to build a new stadium.
37:22It's like a,
37:23it's amazing the difference
37:24when you walk in here to feel.
37:26Yeah, it sure is.
37:27And it's just, again,
37:27we talked early in the game about belief,
37:30and everyone believes from the owner
37:31to the quarterback,
37:32to the defense,
37:33to the fans,
37:34this team is going somewhere.
37:35Well, their defense is going to jump for it.
37:37Wilson escapes, though,
37:38looking for a little one.
37:39And then turns a negative into a positive.
37:41He's out to the 43-yard line.
37:45And this situation,
37:47if you're the Giants,
37:48you're just Russell saying,
37:50all right,
37:51stop making anything worse.
37:52Still no turnovers.
37:54A little bit in desperation mode
37:56where the risk reward for the quarterback
37:58has to change
37:59in terms of throwing the ball
38:00in the tight windows,
38:01but still see the guy open
38:03before you make the throw.
38:04Here's Tracy.
38:07Not much there.
38:09Had a hard time running the football today,
38:11but it hasn't been
38:12a couple scrambles from Russell Wilson.
38:16And it's...
38:18Offensive football starts with
38:20the offensive line
38:21and what's going up on up front.
38:23Running the ball
38:24and setting up play-action passes
38:26is so important.
38:26They just have had a tough matchup today
38:28against this revamped
38:30Washington defensive line.
38:32No doubt.
38:32Third and one.
38:42Penalty flies.
38:43Wilson going deep.
38:44Wandale Robinson had it.
38:46Couldn't hang on.
38:48Let's see what the penalty is.
38:56And it's going to be on the Giants.
39:02Got a decision to make, right?
39:10You want it fourth and one
39:11or third and six?
39:13Illegal formation.
39:15Offense number 72
39:15is he was not on the line of scrimmage.
39:18Five-yard penalty.
39:19Third down.
39:19Yeah, they're going to take it
39:20to your point.
39:22So it'll be third down and six.
39:25Funny on that play, you know,
39:26Russell Wilson said,
39:28even though it's really never been
39:29part of his game, he said he thinks
39:30Rondale, Wandale Robinson
39:32could be a deep guy.
39:33Yeah, he does.
39:34And he caught a lot of passes
39:36last year, over 90 balls.
39:37Just wasn't a high yards per catch.
39:39But what he does feel is
39:40he's developing as a receiver
39:42and Russ saw a lot of things
39:43in training camp
39:44that made him believe
39:45that we can't push the ball
39:47downfield with this guy
39:48like they did on that last play.
39:53Wilson going far side.
39:55Has a man open.
39:56Good route by Robinson
39:57who's there to haul it in
39:58for a first down.
39:59He kind of caught up
40:01to that one.
40:01It was floating in midair
40:02and the drive continued.
40:03Yeah, that's just man coverage.
40:06Igbegini.
40:08Igbegini.
40:09Igbenogany, excuse me,
40:10always struggle
40:11with those five-syllable last names.
40:13Gets caught up in traffic
40:14and Robinson becomes
40:15that down-the-field catcher.
40:18Nice throw and catch there.
40:19Good execution.
40:20That's funny.
40:30When we practice that one
40:31in the mirror,
40:32you nailed it.
40:33You nailed it.
40:34I know.
40:35I just can't tell
40:35all my dirty secrets
40:36over here, okay?
40:38I always used to call...
40:39I'd come up with nicknames
40:40for guys that...
40:41names I couldn't
40:42necessarily pronounce.
40:44Is that like, you know,
40:46calling someone
40:47whose name you don't know,
40:48Bub?
40:48Well, I'm just saying,
40:49when you had teammates,
40:50you just came up
40:50with nicknames for everybody
40:52and you never really
40:53had to think about anything
40:54beyond something
40:54that could get out
40:55of my mouth very quickly.
40:57Hey, Igbegini,
40:58get down...
40:59No, it's not the way it works.
41:00Go!
41:05Go!
41:067-7.
41:07That time here
41:09did not pressure up
41:10the middle of the game.
41:11Had time for a second,
41:12but that dissipated
41:13in a hurry.
41:18You know, something
41:19the Giants are gonna
41:19have to figure out.
41:20I mean, today they need
41:21the pass game to get back
41:22in this in a hurry,
41:23but they're running backs
41:24today.
41:2515 carries,
41:2630 yards.
41:29Nothing there,
41:29and, you know,
41:30when they've had some
41:31of those man coverage plays
41:32that I've seen Russell
41:33have when the commander's
41:36defense has played man,
41:37he's been very decisive
41:38with his throws down the field,
41:39whether it's to Robins
41:40or neighbors.
41:40The problem is
41:41when it's been more
41:42zone coverage from Washington,
41:43where he's had to hold
41:44the ball to let routes develop,
41:46just hasn't been able
41:46to stand in that pocket
41:47and make those throws.
41:51More zone coverage here.
41:533rd and 7.
41:534-man rush.
41:55Wilson in trouble.
41:56Shuttles at Tracy.
41:57He's got a way to go.
41:58Spinning his way
41:59is gonna be short.
42:00And obviously gonna have
42:01to go for it
42:02on 4th down here.
42:03Yeah, they got up there,
42:05showed some man coverage,
42:06and then bailed out.
42:07Ended up being zoned.
42:08Russ felt a little pressure.
42:10That's where this team
42:11is gonna have to hold up
42:12more up front.
42:13Give those high-low concepts
42:16a chance to show
42:17where the quarterback
42:18can make a decisive play.
42:19And his neighbor's a great option.
42:384th and 2.
42:39Blitz is coming.
42:40Wilson just floats one up.
42:42There it is.
42:43Wilson intercepted.
42:45Claude Martin has it.
42:46Flag on the play, too.
42:48Martin breaks the tackle.
42:50Finally taken down.
42:52Let's see what the flag is.
42:55Just to make sure.
42:56Wilson had no choice
42:57as he was being hit
42:58just to let it go.
42:59Now, all-out pressure.
43:05Looks like possibly
43:07a hit to the helmet
43:08on Wilson.
43:10Personal foul.
43:11Roughing the passer.
43:12Defense number 54.
43:1515-yard penalty.
43:16First down.
43:17It's on Bobby Wagner
43:18who can't believe it.
43:19The veteran.
43:19But that keeps the Giants
43:21with some life.
43:22Here it is.
43:22His former teammate
43:23finally getting his shot
43:25in a little bit.
43:27Doesn't look too forcible.
43:28But when it does get up
43:29to the head or neck
43:30that's where they're going
43:31to throw that Dean.
43:34Like you said,
43:35when they get up
43:36to the head-neck area.
43:37Remember, this is assistable
43:39in replay.
43:40If they determine
43:41there was no contact
43:43to the head-neck
43:43they could pick it up.
43:45I don't think they're
43:45going to be able to tell
43:46because you can see
43:47that right hand did get up
43:48to the head-neck area.
43:49They can't rule on the force
43:51but they could look at
43:52was there contact.
43:53Yeah, that's a new deal
43:55this year.
43:55So, new life
43:57for the Giants here.
43:58Still alive here now.
43:5921-6.
44:003.46 to go.
44:07Wilson.
44:08Up in the middle.
44:09Looked like there was
44:10a hole to run
44:11but that closed down quick
44:12with Dorrance Armstrong.
44:14It's only a couple yards there.
44:17Looked like he had something
44:18right there in the middle
44:19and Armstrong does a great job
44:21folding back underneath
44:22to make that tackle.
44:23Every time out.
44:28Sorry, Tom.
44:28Yeah, no.
44:29Just finding production
44:30outside of neighbors
44:31and can the backs do anything?
44:33Can the tight ends do anything?
44:34Fires one.
44:35Bellinger who catches it
44:36first and goal.
44:37Down to the three he goes.
44:39And all day you're looking
44:39for other guys to produce.
44:41Who's going to come up big, guys?
44:42Division opponent.
44:43Can't be neighbors all day.
44:45Struggling in the run game
44:46a little bit.
44:46Other guys in the passing game
44:47are going to have to step up
44:48a lot like Bellinger just did.
44:50Now can they get in?
44:51Something they haven't done all day.
44:57Wilson in trouble
44:59just throws it away.
45:042.52 to go.
45:06I do like that job by Russell.
45:08Just does have a poise
45:09and composure
45:10seeing that no one's open.
45:11He knows he's got
45:12three more chances down there
45:13so don't do anything crazy.
45:15Hold on to it.
45:15Take a sack.
45:17Keep the clock stopped.
45:18It's obviously the clock
45:20is an issue at this point.
45:21Save as much time as you can.
45:27Definitely struggle down here
45:28all day inside the five-yard line
45:29throwing the ball.
45:38Go!
45:40Wilson tipped up in the air
45:42and incomplete.
45:44Batted down by Deron Payne.
45:45He's had a big day
45:47for Washington
45:47and his third and goal.
45:50Oh!
45:51Trying to go to the slant
45:53to Neighbors
45:54and luckily it did get
45:55batted down
45:55because Bobby Wagner
45:56may have caught that one
45:58and taken it
45:59the opposite direction.
46:01He's got the slant
46:02which he's open
46:03and there's Bobby Wagner
46:04kind of flashing
46:04in the screen there
46:05at the top.
46:07It'd be fortunate
46:08that ball got knocked down.
46:12Third and goal!
46:13Go!
46:23Wilson throwing back
46:24corner
46:24and it was incomplete!
46:30Giants just can't punch it in
46:31and they've got one more opportunity.
46:36Trying to take a shot there
46:37in the back of the end zone.
46:38Lattimore's out there.
46:39Johnson there
46:43right there
46:43on the front end line.
46:47The red area
46:48throwing the ball
46:49from the three-yard line.
46:51You just think about it.
46:51There's 11 defensive bodies
46:53within 13 yards
46:55of the line of scrimmage
46:56and you throw the offensive bodies.
46:57Sometimes you need
46:58vertical space.
46:59You need tall receivers
47:00and that's where
47:00tight ends come into the play.
47:02It doesn't look like
47:03he's very certain right now
47:04with the ball.
47:06It's a game.
47:07Wilson throwing end zone.
47:09Incomplete!
47:10Commanders will take over
47:12with 2.39 to go.
47:21Certainly frustrating
47:23from the Giants' standpoint.
47:25Just trying to run
47:25crossing routes.
47:26It ends up being
47:27zone coverage.
47:28And then Robinson
47:30just never gets a chance
47:31to get his head
47:32back around.
47:33Timing was off.
47:35It's really been off
47:36all day inside
47:37the 10-yard line.
47:39Certainly frustrating
47:40for Coach Dayball
47:41in a position
47:43to make it a one-score game
47:44and not on the same page.
47:48Frustrating for Giants fans.
47:49It's a pretty remarkable stat.
47:54Washington today
47:55a 50% pressure rate.
47:57So half of
47:58Russell Wilson's
47:58passes have been
48:00pressure in his face.
48:03That doesn't help.
48:04Yeah, not really the strength
48:05for any quarterback
48:07when you're getting pressured
48:08and when you're forced
48:09to throw the ball
48:10before you want to throw it.
48:11It's a challenge.
48:13Looks like they have
48:14had some opportunities
48:15down the field.
48:15Some misconnections there
48:17with neighbors.
48:18Six points on the road
48:22against Washington
48:23will never be enough.
48:24Now Commanders
48:25can run it out
48:26with a couple of first downs
48:27as Kroski Merritt
48:29going to pick up a couple
48:31for Burns.
48:31Stops him.
48:32Amazing.
48:33The Giants have run
48:3313 plays inside the 10 today.
48:36Couldn't score.
48:38Yeah.
48:38The easiest way to score,
48:40Kevin,
48:41is to run the ball in.
48:42But they have not been
48:43able to do that.
48:44So, okay,
48:44if you can't run it in,
48:45then who do you throw it to?
48:46A lot of times
48:47you need vertical separation
48:49in the passing game.
48:50Neighbors,
48:50he's tremendous.
48:51He can do anything,
48:52but he's not the tallest
48:53guy down there.
48:54This is where you rely
48:55on some bigger role players
48:57in the passing game.
48:58Tight ends,
48:59backup tight ends,
49:00third receivers
49:01that may have a trait
49:02to help you in the red area
49:03that the Giants
49:04haven't found today.
49:05Yeah.
49:05Giants pulling their
49:06first time out,
49:07by the way,
49:07stopping it with 2.35 to go.
49:10All right,
49:31what's up?
49:32all the way up to midfield
49:42jacore krosky merritt breaking free in the touchdown earlier and that one a biggie
49:52nothing fancy just an inside zone and he's going to bounce it out behind urts's block
49:59and then he's off to the races lane makes a good block downfield and this is why they felt like
50:07they could move on from robinson they thought krosky merritt also known as bill i know he
50:12wants everyone to call him bill i'll call him bill it's easier yeah bill makes a great run there
50:19got a little juice 10 carries 87 yards 8.7 a carry that's pretty good kb yeah touchdown a 42 yard run
50:27there bill is doing a fine job
50:29all right you have a day like that i'll call you bill
50:33he's got another first down the commanders trying to do their best to run this thing out
50:48we should finish the story by the way krosky merritt the reason why he likes being called
50:54bill when he was younger he had a bald head people said he looked like little bill from
50:59the cartoons or he just kind of liked it so now you're thinking like wait his name is bill
51:04from jacore it's kind of a weird nickname that's the idea i call him bill call him might be call
51:09him starting running back that's what he might be pretty good to me downhill and he had one
51:13of those runs in the preseason that got all the commanders fans excited and the coaches
51:17when he broke one out on about a 40 yard run and it just some of these things surprise you
51:22you take a guy in the seventh round nfl draft comes around i don't know take a flyer on a
51:26seventh round pick the guy ends up being a starting back for you basically he's an eckler it's a little
51:31bit running back by committee but by the way that krosky merritt ran today you know wouldn't be
51:36surprised if he's lining up you know it's the first team as the season goes along giants down to one time
51:41about 2 19 to go
51:48one more first down but officially wrap it on up
51:56the nickels for a couple
51:59giants will take their final time out
52:04so take a look at this game now the giants using their final to and what do we have
52:09a lot of defense for one you know jayden daniels has done a lot of things well
52:14zach hurts had a touchdown jacori krosky merritt
52:18don't call him jacori call him bill and then debo samuel is watching the debut he's been really good
52:2396 yards from scrimmage and that touchdown run there and i think when you it's all said and done
52:29there's a lot of good things for the commanders today
52:32their defense though they made a big effort to overhaul their d there you see some of the offensive members
52:37adding you know weight and girth to their defensive line bringing in guys in the secondary
52:43it looks it today yeah well i think you go into the offseason trying to figure out where you're
52:48deficient they thought that bringing trading for laramie tonsil could provide better protection
52:53getting someone like debo could provide more flexibility with the offense drafted a running back
52:57bill pretty good today too and then obviously that great defensive line which has dominated all day
53:04today so that is going to be a first down and that is going to be enough to do it that'll take us down
53:11to the two-minute warning mcnichols putting the icing on the proverbial cake giants had some opportunities
53:18they hung in there today but the offense just couldn't punch it in commanders strong in week one
53:24looking to finish it out two minutes to go up 21.6 they said it was a fever dream that led colonel
53:35sanders to the 11th herb and spice they said it was madness that drove him to perfect the pressure fryer
53:43it's working they said creating his world-famous chicken became an obsession they were right the colonel

55:34Today's Game on Fox is sponsored by KFC.
55:42Hot and spicy wings and wedges are back.
55:48Jayden Daniels in year number two.
55:50Smooth as ever.
55:51Using his legs when he had to.
55:52Throwing a touchdown when he had to.
55:54And trying to get the commanders off to a good start.
55:56You know he's going to do that.
55:58Because he got a lot of help today from newcomer Debo Samuel.
56:00And a defense that looked really, really good.
56:03And shut down the Giants.
56:04And now they can just take the victory formation.
56:06And take a knee and enjoy a 1-0 start at the division rivals.
56:11What are your thoughts today about what you saw, Tom?
56:13Yeah, great feeling for the commanders to start 1-0 at home.
56:16Against a Giants team that's obviously still trying to find some answers.
56:22I think the offseason pickup that the commanders have had have really paid off today.
56:28200 yards passing, 200 yards rushing.
56:30They did that four times last season.
56:32And it's a very difficult thing for a defense to stop when you've got to deal with guys in the pass game, guys in the run game.
56:39So, but I will caution everyone.
56:41You are not a finished product at this point.
56:44The commanders aren't.
56:45The Giants aren't.
56:46It's a lot of things you're trying to identify.
56:48What you're good at and what you're not good at in the early part of the season.
56:52So, there has been a lot of fight.
56:54I would say the promise of the Giants.
56:57They showed some resilience on defense.
56:59They hung in there pretty well against this commander's offense.
57:03You know, I just think what the Giants need to do is go back there, try to figure out how they can run the ball more effectively with maybe some more creativity.
57:11And they're going to need some explosive passes in this offense so that they can score some, you know, without having to drive the ball down the field, create some more scoring opportunities.
57:21Yeah.
57:21And, you know, you know there's some Giant fans out there who are like, well, maybe play Jackson Dart and that'll be the answer right now.
57:27Well, he would have gotten killed today if he played him the way the pressure was.
57:30Well, it's always an easy thing to say is, you know, backup quarterbacks are loved a lot of places.
57:34And there's certainly a lot of promise for him as a young player based on what he did at Ole Miss and the excitement that he brought in the season.
57:41But it's a lot of great quarterbacks that have watched veteran quarterbacks play well.
57:47Eli Manning did that with Kurt Warner in this Giants organization.
57:50And I think a lot of this is going to be let's continue to just fix a lot of the other problems on this offense that the Giants have had.
57:58But today's day belongs to the Commanders, 21-6 over the Giants, which now join late coverage of the Buccaneers and Falcons.
58:05Kenny Albert and Jonathan Vilma, exciting conclusion to that one as the Bucs try to come back.
58:10Commanders win it here and open up the season 1-0 over the Giants.
58:13Thanks for watching, everyone.
58:19His reputation preceded him, and that reputation was well-earned.
58:24I love the physical part of the game.
58:26I always did, from the first time, I believe the first Pop Warner game I ever played in, running over a linebacker and just feeling how good that felt.
58:35One month later, we launched it in Baltimore.
58:37To help you better enjoy our Sunday night coverage, ESPN unveils its latest technical innovation on tonight's game.
58:44It's ESPN's first and ten.
58:47The gold-colored line you'll see appears to be painted on the field, but it's really being electronically generated by us.
58:54It's a visual reference for you to always know the yard line, and offense has to reach for a first down.
59:00ESPN's first and ten.
59:01We think you're going to like it.
59:03I still haven't figured it out.
59:09It's kind of who we've become as a team that we just don't give up.
59:12Let's get it, baby.
59:13Let's get it.
59:13Let's get it.
59:14Love the moment, man.
59:15We about to get loose now.
59:17Big rush on Mahomes.
59:20Steps up on the pocket, throws it late, and a catch made by Kelsey at his shoe tops.
59:25Oh, and a gain of 11 yards and one of the best catches Kelsey's made this season.
59:31Stays alive, keeps the ball in the right hand.
59:33He'll run it.
59:34He's at the 15.
59:35Got a first down, slips inside.
59:36A defender gets all the way to the Eagle 5.
59:38And the Chiefs back within three.
59:50Let's go.
59:51We're right in.
59:51That's who we are right there.
