In this premiere of **Arthur Season 2**, Arthur meets one of the most beloved TV icons of all time — **Mister Rogers**! In “Arthur Meets Mister Rogers,” Arthur struggles with feeling embarrassed when his friends find out Mister Rogers is his neighbor. He soon learns that kindness and friendship are nothing to be ashamed of.

The second story, “Draw!,” takes us into the world of creativity and self-expression, where Arthur and his friends explore their imaginations through art.

First aired in 1997 on **PBS Kids** and produced by **WGBH Boston**, Arthur Season 2 continued building its legacy as one of the most educational and family-friendly shows on television. Based on **Marc Brown’s** books, this timeless animated series teaches children life lessons about confidence, creativity, and community.

00:24Listen to the beat
00:25Listen to the rhythm
00:27Rhythm of the street
00:28Open up your eyes
00:29Open up your ears
00:31Get together and make things better
00:33By working together
00:34It's a simple message
00:36And it comes from the heart
00:39Believe in yourself
00:41For that's the place to start
00:44Start and I say, hey
00:46What a wonderful kind of day
00:48If you can learn to work and play
00:51And get along with each other
00:54What a wonderful kind of day
00:56What a wonderful kind of day
00:59Hey
00:59Hey, T.W.
01:03Hey
01:04Hey everyone, I have great news
01:12Two things
01:14One, two, one, two
01:16Mr. Rogers is coming to our school tomorrow
01:19Wow, really?
01:22Mr. Rogers?
01:23That's
01:24What's the matter?
01:26Mr. Rogers?
01:28Do they think we're babies or something?
01:30Oh, I adore Mr. Rogers
01:32It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood
01:36What's the second thing, Arthur?
01:39Um, nothing
01:41Never mind
01:42You look a little sad, Arthur
01:46He always looks like that
01:48Even when you're staying with us, Mr. Rogers
01:51Maybe we could sing a song and cheer him up
01:53No, no, no, no
01:55It's all right
01:56Arthur meets Mr. Rogers
02:00Come back
02:01Arthur, maybe you think you're too old for Mr. Rogers now
02:09But remember how much you enjoyed him when you were D.W.'s age?
02:12So let's be careful not to spoil it for her
02:15But, so you mean, my mom lived in your neighborhood when she was a kid, Mr. Rogers?
02:20That's right, D.W.
02:21I knew her when she was just about your age
02:24Wow, that must have been a long time ago
02:28Will you be living with us forever?
02:31Oh, no
02:32I have a family who wants me back home
02:35When do you have to go?
02:37Tomorrow
02:37After I visit Arthur's school
02:40What's the point of having Mr. Rogers stay at your house?
02:45Shh!
02:46If you don't tell anybody
02:48Because we don't want everyone coming over here
02:51Banging on the door
02:52And asking for lots of autographs
02:54You're doing that thing with your glasses that you do when you fib
02:58What thing with my...
02:59Arthur?
03:00B.W.?
03:01Could you tell me where the nearest mailbox is?
03:04I have some postcards I want to send to my friends
03:07It's a beautiful day here at Arthur's house
03:13A neighborly stay here at Arthur's
03:15Would you be mine
03:16Could you be mine
03:18I...
03:19It's very easy, Mr. Rogers
03:25No, no
03:26It's not
03:27It's hard
03:28Complicated
03:29I'll do it
03:30Oh, thanks, Arthur
03:31But I can mail them
03:32No, here
03:33I've got them
03:34You stay here, Mr. Rogers
03:35I'll do it
03:36Just stay here
03:39He's like this all the time
03:43You'll get used to it
03:44Arthur!
03:51What are you...
03:52Sorry, sorry
03:53Just, uh, mailing a few postcards
03:56Wait a minute
03:58This can't be your postcard
03:59It's signed Fred
04:00Oh, that's because I'm, uh, uh, thinking of changing my name
04:03That's right
04:04And I'm...
04:04I'm sending out these postcards, uh, to try on new names
04:07Fred is just one
04:08Do you like it?
04:09How about Casper?
04:10That's another one
04:11Uh, Julius?
04:12Ah
04:13What am I doing?
04:24Yay!
04:26Wow, that was great
04:27Arthur plays the piano, too
04:29Show Mr. Rogers, Arthur
04:31Uh, well...
04:33Maybe Arthur doesn't feel like doing it right now
04:36Yeah, maybe later
04:37Maybe you could take me on that walk around your neighborhood now, D.W.
04:42Huh?
04:42Wait, I feel like playing
04:44I feel like playing piano
04:45Very good, Arthur
04:51Um, let me see
04:53Did I play the happy bow?
04:55Four times
04:57You could be a fine musician someday, Arthur
05:00Come on, Mr. Rogers
05:01I'll show you around my neighborhood
05:03Wait, I didn't play you my scales
05:05Arthur, Mr. Rogers is going to die of boredom
05:09Um, I promised D.W. I'd let her take me around before it got too late
05:13Maybe you'd like to come for a walk with us
05:16You can't go
05:21What?
05:22I mean, what if, uh, what if somebody recognizes you from the TV?
05:26They'll want autographs and a disguise
05:29That's it
05:30I'll go get you a disguise
05:31I don't think I need a disguise
05:33But I get the idea you're not feeling very good about something
05:38Me?
05:39Uh, hey, wait, I have a better idea
05:43That certainly is a very impressive statue
05:47He looks like he's about to say something very important
05:51Arthur, this beard itches
05:55Why do I have to wear it?
05:57It's so nobody will see
05:59So Mr. Rogers can, uh, s-so
06:02You're touching your glasses again
06:04Look, Mom, it's Mr. Rogers
06:08And he's with two of the seven dwarves
06:11I'm gonna go see them
06:12Come on, I want to show you something, Mr. Rogers
06:16This way
06:17Wait for...
06:19Me
06:20It's right over
06:21Ah!
06:24This way, Mr. Rogers
06:25Garbage?
06:31You wanted to show Mr. Rogers people's garbage?
06:34No
06:34Uh, Mr. Rogers?
06:37Is that really you?
06:39It certainly is
06:40What's your name?
06:42I forget
06:42Oh, brother
06:44How do you know
06:48Dopey and Sneezy?
06:51Look, Mr. Rogers
06:53The joke shop
06:54And over there is where Grandma Thora
06:56Parks her car when she goes to Bingo
06:58I know you can't keep a secret
07:00But you can't tell anybody
07:01About Mr. Rogers staying at our house
07:03I never tell secrets
07:05Hey, there's Prunella in the brain
07:08Where are you going?
07:09I want to tell everybody about Mr...
07:11Oh, hey
07:12You're right about me
07:13I cannot keep a secret
07:15Arthur looks quite distinguished with facial hair
07:18He's been acting weird like that all day
07:20He wanted me to call him Fred
07:22Plainly, Arthur's suffering from a form of psychological stress
07:26Brought on by too much homework
07:27The same thing even happens to me sometimes
07:30No, no
07:32That's not it
07:33What is it, Rubella?
07:34Do you see something?
07:36It's just as I feared
07:37Zombies
07:39Zombies are here in Elwood City
07:41Oh, no, I don't think
07:43Hush
07:43Hush, brain
07:44Your friend Arthur is under a hypnotic spell
07:47It's up to us to break the trance
07:50Before he turns us all into
07:52Zombie slaves
07:54It all looks so good, David
08:00Would you like a roll buster?
08:02Mr. Rogers
08:03Does King Friday ever get in the trolley and come out to see you?
08:07Oh, brother
08:08King Friday usually stays in make-believe, Buster
08:11Except when he flies in the purple jet
08:14Wow
08:15What about Daniel Striped Tiger?
08:19Just look at that drooling, idiotic look on that face
08:22They've done something with his brain
08:24I don't know, Rubella
08:26Buster kind of always looks that way
08:28If we don't do something soon, we'll all be
08:32You're both acting silly
08:33It's very simple and I'll prove it to you
08:35I'll just ask Arthur if he needs help with homework
08:38You watch
08:39No, go away
08:41I mean, thank you
08:42But if I need any help with homework, Buster's here
08:44Bye
08:45Buster? Helping with homework?
08:49What kind of idiots do those zombies take us for?
08:52We have to take quick action if we're going to save your friends
08:55And there was this one time on your show
08:59You learned to dance
09:01And I learned it, too
09:02Wow, you remembered that really well, Buster
09:06Soon we'll all be making fools of ourselves
09:10For their stupid zombie entertainment
09:12Eep!
09:19You know, Arthur
09:20I wonder if we could talk a little
09:22Sometimes if I'm feeling embarrassed about something
09:26Excuse me
09:29Down, down
09:30Quickly, we must find another window
09:36I know, Grace
09:38I said the same thing to Tommy
09:39Just the other
09:40Wait a minute
09:41What have we here?
09:44Oh, my gosh
09:45Grace, burglars at the Reed house
09:47Gotta go
09:48In the long, long trip of growing
09:54There are stops along the way
09:57For thoughts of all the soft things
10:00And a look at yesterday
10:03Aw, he was just getting to the good part
10:07You can go home now, Buster
10:09But remember, you can't tell
10:10Are those sirens?
10:13Sounds like they're right outside
10:15It was a strange day in the neighborhood
10:20When Mr. Rogers came for a visit
10:22The suspicious goings-on
10:24Turned out to be
10:25Nothing more than a visit
10:26From an old friend of the family
10:28I wondered where you were hiding, Arthur
10:36I think maybe I'm sick
10:38In fact, I may be too sick to go to school tomorrow
10:41Or even ever again
10:43You know, if I'm feeling mad or sad
10:47Or glad about something
10:49I try to tell somebody about it
10:51I just don't want everyone to think I'm a
10:53That I like
10:55I mean
10:56You don't want them to think you're a little kid anymore
11:00Yeah
11:01I mean
11:01No offense
11:03Sometimes you feel like you're too old for certain things
11:06I just don't want people to make fun of me
11:09Real friends don't make fun of real friends
11:13And your friends seem like real friends
11:15They all seem to be concerned about you
11:18Well, at least nobody in my class watches the news
11:22Arthur, your house was on TV last night
11:25I have a tape if anyone didn't see it
11:27Did Mr. Rogers really stay with you?
11:30Well, did he change his shoes whenever he came in?
11:33Did he bring picture-picture?
11:35Mr. Rogers?
11:37He's just for babies
11:38It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood
11:41A lovely day for a neighbor
11:44M-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m...
11:47You must be Binky Barnes. Arthur's told me about you.
11:51He did? I mean, uh, can I have your autograph?
11:57And I just want to say how much I've enjoyed my time here in Elwood City.
12:02Now, does anybody have anything to ask or tell me?
12:06Mr. Rogers, did you really stay at Arthur's house yesterday?
12:10I think Arthur can answer that, Binky.
12:14Well, that is, uh, I mean, yes, Binky, he did.
12:22Whoa! Can I have your autograph, too?
12:26Sure.
12:36I'm Max. This is my kindergarten class.
12:38We want to know how Mr. Rogers got to be on the Arthur show.
12:42How do you think they turned me?
12:44Mr. Rogers into an animated character.
12:49Tough question.
12:50They put him in the tub, and then he, like, goes underwater, and then he turns, like, into a cartoon.
12:58Put him inside a box, and then the guy, um, taps the box two times, and then he changed it to a cartoon character.
13:07Film him like Arthur.
13:08Film him like Arthur, except, like, with a different animal.
13:13The picture was in Mark Brown's head, and it turned out that he created an aardvark for me.
13:20And then the animators took that and made a lot of pictures so that together it looked like they were moving through animation.
13:30You had to animate him with a character with a voice.
13:36Today we're in the recording studio to add the voice to the picture.
13:41Okay, Fred, number 39B, take one.
13:44I wondered where you were hiding, Arthur.
13:48So the aardvark has Mr. Rogers' voice.
13:51You don't want them to think you're a little kid anymore.
13:55Okay, Fred, that's a wrap.
13:57Anybody could make animation.
13:59My class is guia, but we could be animated.
14:12And now, back to Arthur!
14:17Francine's my friend, but she can be hard to get along with.
14:21Anybody can be a sore loser, but Francine can be a sore winner.
14:31Oh, that makes me so mad!
14:33But you just won!
14:35I should have won by more.
14:38And she sure likes to argue.
14:40Is not.
14:41Is too.
14:42Is not.
14:43Is too.
14:44Brain, give up.
14:46You can't win.
14:47Yes, I can.
14:48No, you can't.
14:49Yes, I can.
14:50No, you can't.
14:51Can't, can't, can.
14:52Can't, can't, can't.
14:54And this is what she's like in a good mood.
15:00Draw!
15:12Oh, oh, thank you.
15:17Attention, students.
15:20Exciting news.
15:22This is the week of the Teacher's Charity Carnival.
15:27Fun, fun, fun.
15:29See your teachers perform.
15:31And don't miss my fabulous magic and sleight of hand.
15:36Oops.
15:37That is all.
15:40The Teacher's Carnival should be fun.
15:42As long as Ratburn doesn't do another puppet show.
15:47If you don't laugh, I'll give you extra homework.
15:52I disagree.
15:54I like Mr. Ratburn's shows.
15:57Anyone smarter than a rock knows those puppet shows are boring kid stuff.
16:04Guess she didn't want a dessert.
16:05Are you going to apologize to Fern?
16:14Apologize for what?
16:15You hurt her feelings.
16:18She'll get over it.
16:19Aren't you worried she might get mad?
16:22Fern?
16:23That mouse?
16:24What's she going to do?
16:25Be quiet at me?
16:26Ooh, I'm so scared.
16:29Hey, get out of my way, Buster.
16:49What are you laughing at?
16:56What's that?
16:57It's my cartoon.
17:00Out of my way.
17:02I'm better than everyone.
17:03I'm even better than people who are better than me.
17:10Is this cow supposed to be me?
17:14How could it be?
17:16Frank is a boy.
17:17Admit it, Fern.
17:18It is too fancy.
17:20Look, Frank is pushy and loud and rude and insulting.
17:24Stop helping me, Muffy.
17:25Fern, cows are females and bulls are males.
17:28A cow wouldn't be named Frank.
17:30It would be named Fran...
17:31That's about as funny as biting an apple and finding half a worm.
17:39Good morning.
17:47Before classes begin, Mr. Haney wants to know what you're doing for the carnival.
17:51A new puppet show.
17:53Eek!
17:53The many-headed Hydra versus Sinbad the Sailor.
17:59I'm going to conduct a happy sing-along with a prize for the happiest sing-alonger.
18:04You don't look very happy.
18:08I think I need to sing someone a song right now.
18:12I think not.
18:14Oh, come on.
18:15Let's sing.
18:17No.
18:17I like fudge, I like fudge.
18:20If you ask me what I like, I say I like fudge.
18:25What will you be doing for the carnival?
18:28My famous fortune teller act.
18:30You will be taking a trip.
18:33I like fudge, I like fudge.
18:36If you ask me what I like, I say I like fudge.
18:36I didn't mean right now.
18:38Come on, Miss Tingley.
18:40A little song is just what you need.
18:42Miss Tingley, you're just in time to rehearse my grand finale.
18:49When I saw you in half.
18:51Me?
18:52Oh, don't worry.
18:53It's foolproof.
18:54Here, let me demonstrate with this board.
18:59It only looks like I'm cutting it.
19:01But in reality...
19:03Miss Tingley, wait!
19:09Your comic was so good, I drew one, too.
19:12Mine's called The Big Clumsy Moose with Big Feet Named Franny.
19:16Her feet are named Franny?
19:18That's funny.
19:19I'm going to do one, too.
19:20Me, too.
19:21I can do a better one than you guys.
19:23Oh, yeah?
19:34Ready to sing?
19:36Why not smile?
19:38Why not smile?
19:39Do you think you're going to break your face?
19:40Why not smile?
19:42Come back, Miss Tingley.
19:45Look, Arthur.
19:47Franny Foghorn.
19:50Frantic Frog.
19:53Franny the Stinky Sneaker.
19:56Franny, did you do this one?
19:58It's funny.
19:59I think maybe this is bothering Francine.
20:03I think maybe this is bothering Francine.
20:03She'll get over it.
20:06Francine?
20:07Uh...
20:07Oh, go eat an ant sandwich, Arthur.
20:10Cartoons and stones can't break my bones.
20:12Wait.
20:13You haven't seen mine.
20:14Hey, give it to me.
20:15Hey, give it to me.
20:17I want to read that.
20:18The giant slime that came to school.
20:243,630,279,148 divided by 7,681.
20:29Quickly, quickly.
20:30All the kids were at school learning complicated math.
20:35And then it happened.
20:38I'm here.
20:40A giant slime...
20:41...came to school.
20:45Do the math or be gone, large slime.
20:47Oh, yeah?
20:49The big slime...
20:51...our teacher.
20:55Yeah!
20:57But it wasn't all good.
20:59The slime made everyone do its rotten bidding.
21:02Like play only games it was good at.
21:05Ow!
21:09It's a bit too easy.
21:10I win again.
21:12This rots.
21:13Bionic Bunny told it to leave.
21:16Slime, go away.
21:18And it...
21:18...him too.
21:21Know how to play, go fish.
21:23The slime was unstoppable.
21:25Until...
21:26Boy, I'm hungry.
21:29It was dark.
21:30So the boy didn't realize he was eating slime.
21:33Mmm.
21:35Lime.
21:42Mmm.
21:45Cut that out.
21:46The boy who would eat anything chased the slime.
21:49Come back!
21:50You're delicious!
21:52Ow!
21:53And he...
21:54...the whole thing.
21:56Thank goodness you eat like a pig.
22:02You're welcome.
22:04Ugh!
22:05And I would eat a giant slime.
22:08If it was lime slime...
22:09The teacher charity carnival is about to begin.
22:14Ah!
22:15Oh!
22:15Oh!
22:16Boy, Francine, you left your comics everywhere.
22:25Hmm.
