00:00Hello, good morning, welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office.
00:04And starting with the bigger picture, high pressure still in charge of our weather at the moment,
00:09keeping things largely settled and dry.
00:12However, through Monday into the beginning of next week,
00:15we start to see the high pressure slipping away and being replaced by low pressure,
00:19which we haven't seen for quite some time.
00:21Low pressure will introduce some cooler, wetter and windier weather.
00:23This particular low is the remnants of what was Hurricane Erin out in the Atlantic earlier in the week.
00:31Fairly cloudy start this morning across the UK, some mist and fog patches too,
00:36but these quickly lifting and breaking.
00:38And then the day ahead, for most of us, it will be a dry day, plenty of sunny spells developing,
00:44thicker cloud across parts of Scotland, particularly in the west,
00:47associated with a weather front pushing north and eastwards,
00:50could be thick enough for some patchy light rain at times too.
00:54But otherwise, a dry picture, there should be more in the way of sunny spells breaking through the cloud
00:58compared to what we saw yesterday.
01:01And with the winds coming in from the south, it should just feel a little warmer as well,
01:04more widely getting into the low to mid-20s, 25 or 26 Celsius, a top temperature,
01:10always just a little cooler still across northern Scotland here, the high teens to low 20s.
01:15Into this evening time, this weather front will continue to push its way north-eastward,
01:18it's still some patchy light rain for north-east Scotland into Orkney and Shetland.
01:23Elsewhere, clearing skies and generally light winds, we'll see some mist and fog patches forming in places.
01:29But despite the clear skies, another fairly warm night to come,
01:33temperatures holding up in double figures, 12 to 16 degrees to start Monday morning.
01:39But it does mean a sunnier start for many of us, there'll be some mist and fog first thing.
01:43And this clearing quickly, and then a lovely day ahead, blue skies for much of the country.
01:48The cloud will come and go at times across some western parts of the UK,
01:52particularly Northern Ireland ahead of this weather front,
01:54which will bring some rain as we head into the evening time and the wind starting to pick up here.
01:58But plenty of sunshine, and with the wind still coming in from the south, a warm direction,
02:03temperatures higher again, 27, 28, possibly 29 Celsius as the top temperature,
02:08the mid-20s across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland too.
02:12Into the evening time, this weather front will continue to push in from the west,
02:17giving some outbreaks of rain across Northern Ireland, eventually western fringes of the UK as well.
02:22And then the outlook for the week ahead is going to be dominated by cooler conditions,
02:28more unsettled weather, outbreaks of rain, heavy showers, some stronger winds,
02:32some large waves around western coasts in particular too.
02:35So different field things as the week goes on.
02:38You can keep up to date with that weather and the detail on our social media channels.
02:43See you again soon.
