00:00Hello, a very good morning to you. There'll be a cloudy and cool zone in the UK today and a hot and sunny zone also.
00:08But the boundary between those two zones somewhat uncertain because of this area of thin and low cloud that's creeping westwards overnight
00:18and then, well, tending to stick around in many places through the day.
00:22It will tend to lift and break and some brightness will come through, but I think it will take a long time.
00:28Don't expect, if you wake up with cloud cover, for it to brighten up quickly.
00:32And it may be one of those situations where the weather app is a bit more optimistic about the clearance of that cloud than what will happen in reality.
00:40So it's going to take its time to brighten up in many places.
00:43We do keep lots of sunshine towards the west, Northern Ireland, northern and western Scotland, for example, away from the Northern Isles.
00:49Wales, the southwest, seeing the best of the sunshine.
00:52And it's across parts of Wales and the southwest where temperatures could head up towards 29 Celsius, for example.
01:00And in other places where we see that low cloud lingering and really taking its time to clear, it's more like the low 20s.
01:08So, yeah, very mixed weather across the UK during Saturday.
01:12But either way, the trend is for that low cloud to disperse by the evening and then clear skies much more widely.
01:21Still some low cloud affecting the north of Scotland, perhaps a few patches feeding into the North Sea coast.
01:26Otherwise, it's going to be a clear night.
01:29Now, one thing that will be notable through the day today and into the start of Sunday is the wind across the southwest.
01:35So that wind bouncing over the hills of Dartmoor, for example, giving gusts of 50 miles an hour in a few spots just to the west of Dartmoor.
01:43So a notably gusty spell despite the sunshine and the warmth.
01:48It's going to be a mild night, especially where we've got that wind blowing, but a bit cooler, a bit fresher elsewhere.
01:54Low teens more likely than the mid-high teens.
01:57High pressure effectively stays more or less in the same place heading into Sunday.
02:01And we've still got the tightly packed icebergs towards the southwest.
02:05So we've still got those gusty winds across the southwest peninsula, particularly around western parts of Devon into Cornwall.
02:13But on the whole, it's a sunnier day compared with Saturday.
02:17Still some patches of low cloud along the North Sea coast, perhaps making its way inland at times during the morning.
02:22Otherwise, it's mostly bright or sunny weather expected, staying dry as well.
02:28And it's going to be hot.
02:29That's where we've got that sunshine.
02:30High 20s, perhaps even 30 or 31 degrees possible.
02:36Mid-20s to low 20s across northern parts of the UK and where we'll keep that low cloud.
02:41Then into the start of next week, a few showers start to emerge towards the southwest.
02:46They spread northeastwards around the middle part of the week.
02:49But high pressure likely to build back in again by the end of next week.
