00:00Hello, good evening, welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office and starting with the pressure pattern.
00:07High pressure is dominating our weather at the moment, largely keeping these weather fronts at bay though at times cloud and some patchy rain moving into the northwest.
00:16But as we move through the long weekend, it does start to move away and allows this system to start moving closer to our shores come the end of Monday and into Tuesday,
00:26giving an increased risk of rain and some stronger winds. Large waves developing around the western coast, particularly by the middle of the week as it turns more unsettled.
00:36Through this evening though, still a lot of cloud across the UK. The cloud thickened for some outbreaks of rain across parts of Northern Ireland, western Scotland in particular.
00:45Also some patchy light rain possible along some eastern coasts where we see some clear skies overnight.
00:50We could see some mist and fog patches in one or two spots, but generally with more cloud around compared to recent nights,
00:57we'll see temperatures holding up generally between 12 and 15 Celsius.
01:01So a warmer night compared to the last couple where we've seen temperatures as low as 4 or 5 degrees in a few spots.
01:08So for Sunday morning, a fairly cloudy start in places. Outbreaks of rain across western Scotland.
01:14This weather front just slowly pushes the cloud of rain a little further north and eastwards as we go through the day, but generally petering out as it does.
01:21So elsewhere, it should be a brighter day compared to today.
01:25We'll see some sunny spells for many of us and the winds coming in from the south just drawing in some warmer air from the near continent.
01:32So temperatures more widely reaching the low 20s through the afternoon tomorrow and highs around 25, 26 Celsius possible in the best of the sunshine.
01:41So for most of us, a warm afternoon to come.
01:45Into the evening time, we'll see the cloud continuing to melt away.
01:48There'll be some lengthy clear skies developing as we head overnight.
01:51That could allow some mist and fog patches to form once more on weather fronts across the far north of Scotland.
01:57They're eventually starting to clear Orkney and Shetland.
02:00Still the risk of some patchy light rain here.
02:02The wind's just picking up a little around some western coasts, but otherwise a dry night for the vast majority.
02:07And again, temperatures in double figures.
02:10Mist and fog patches quickly clearing on Monday morning.
02:14And then it's looking like a sunny day ahead.
02:16Plenty of sunshine, more in the way, blue skies for many of us.
02:20The cloud will come and go at times across some western areas.
02:23And eventually cloud thickening up.
02:25The wind's picking up too ahead of this weather front starting to move in by the end of the day.
02:30But for the vast majority, it will be a lovely day.
02:33The wind's coming in from the south, so again drawing in some warm air.
02:36Temperatures higher, 28, possibly 29 Celsius across central southern parts of the UK.
02:43The mid-20s across Scotland, Northern Ireland in the sunshine too.
02:46Into the evening time, this weather front will start to approach and bring some outbreaks of rain across parts of Northern Ireland, western fringes of the UK later on in the day.
02:55And that sets us up for the rest of the week.
02:58Low pressure in charge, we'll see bands of rain, we'll see some strong winds at times too, but also some large waves around the coasts.
03:05And generally some much needed rain across parts of the UK in form of showers, some longer spells of rain and quite breezy and cool too.
03:12So it's all changed as we move through next week, turning more unsettled as low pressure is in charge.
03:19And for more information on this, keep up to date on our social media channels.
03:23See you again soon.
