00:00Yeah, I'm standing right in the middle of this amazing tiger habitat that we're building for the rescue tiger aqua that's going to be coming to live here.
00:08Noah's Ark Zoo Farm has reached a major milestone in its multi-phase project Carnivora,
00:16unveiling a modernised lion habitat and beginning construction on a new home for a rescued tiger.
00:22The award-winning zoo and conservation charity continues to enhance its enclosures,
00:28prioritising species conservation and animal welfare.
00:32Let's chat to their team to find out more.
00:35We've designed this very much with tigers in mind and the things that they love.
00:40So you can see behind me is a platform.
00:43Big cats love to lie and bask and look at the outside world from high areas.
00:49And so these kind of platforms are great for tigers and they'll jump up onto the two levels.
00:54It also provides shade and so on really hot days there's lovely shade underneath it and you can see there's mature trees inside the space.
01:03We've actually built the habitat around lots of mature tall trees as well and that creates natural shade.
01:11And there's also some climbing opportunities.
01:13So over to this side of me there's some large trees that we've planted in the ground and so
01:20upward the tiger will climb up the trees and we'll actually feed, we'll put meat up in the trees as well.
01:27So that's kind of ways of feeding that fit in with the tiger's natural behaviour.
01:32Yeah, so we've redeveloped our lion habitat to make it really exciting for the lions.
01:37We've got lots of features built in that we're really proud of and we love seeing the lions using and enjoying.
01:42Their favourite place is sitting up where we can sit on there now up on the hill, taking a kind of lion's eye view of the whole place and keeping an eye on their surroundings.
01:51But there's loads of like feeding enrichment and places for them to explore.
01:55Yeah, so we've got feeding poles where we can put the meat in all different places so they can get different sorts of exercise.
02:01Like grabbing things is really good for the way that they're built for catching prey as they're climbing, uses those same muscles.
02:07So reaching up these poles is really, it's really great for that.
02:10We've got other places to make it a bit more challenging, so get up high or a little hidden and we've tried to put in loads of places for them to kind of choose the environment they want to sit in.
02:21different substrates they want to walk on, they want to get out of the weather, they want to sit in the sun, all of that kind of built in for loads of choice for the animals.
02:30And we've also found it here in this nice viewing tower where we've put tall light windows in so that people can get a really great view of them and the lions can get a really good view of the people too, which they seem to like going through.
02:41Yeah, I mean we're so excited to have a tiger coming to Noah's Ark.
02:46I think it's something we get asked about the whole time here and traditionally we had two tigers here for many, many years.
02:54So lots of our visitors of different generations have memories of coming to Noah's Ark to see tigers.
02:59They were waiting.
03:01So many of them were potential interesting.
03:05They were不是 one of her to stay about six of them.
03:07They were definitely a difficult time there from the tourists of stories.
