00:00Thursday was hard. At one point, if you were watching during the beginning of just coverage and you're just looking at all the scores and two under was leading for, I would say, a majority of the day until the rain came through.
00:12And that's what softened up the golf course. And so the guys that got out later were able to really take advantage.
00:17And so McIntyre was one of those players and it follows it up with the 64 the following day.
00:22So he's off to this incredible start, 14 under par. And we look at to see what the finish of this golf tournament was.
00:28Scotty shot 15 under. So, you know, it just tells you how the golf course really took shape over the weekend.
00:34And maybe, as kids says, kind of reverse back to the mean a little bit with the putter.
00:39The guy made just an absurd amount of putts through the first couple of days.
00:44Yeah, was absolutely hooping. And then, you know, to go from there, obviously, Sunday is the big turning point.
00:51Right. I mean, he makes a big birdie to kind of close the day out on on Saturday, Saturday.
00:56Yeah. And then you get to Sunday and it's one of those things where there's a little bit of that crowd interaction.
01:02There's a little bit of that sort of back and forth. You know, I quote I saw on Saturday from him that I loved where he's just talking about his whole life.
01:10He's been, you know, the guy is kind of overlooked and it's not the size of the dog in the fight, the size of the fight in the dog.
01:16And you're he's got that dog in him. If we're pulling up x-rays of Bobby Mac right now, there's a there's a dog right in there.
01:24But so I'm really feeling like going into Sunday, you know, as inevitable as Scotty is and has been this entire year,
01:31last couple of years that this guy playing what feels like a pre, you know, precursor to a Ryder Cup away game of all the players in the field is ready for this test.
01:41And it just doesn't materialize for him on Sunday. In fact, he backtracks and then goes on to say, you know, when he's asked about it in post round on Sunday,
01:48he's like, I'd like to go out and break every club in my bag right now. You know, it's kind of surprising.
01:52I could understand that he didn't play well. Charlie, he got off to, you know, just the ball striking, just let him down off the tee,
01:59just wasn't able to put the ball in the fairway on the front side.
02:03And even when he did put it in the fairway, which was only one time on the fifth hole, the par par four, short par four at 87 yards left and missed the green.
02:12So makes a bogey from 87 yards. All of a sudden through the first five holes, Scotty Shefford is tied for the lead, heading to the sixth hole.
02:20The bogey on one, you can understand it was a tough up and down.
02:25And you would have loved to have seen him, you know, make a six footer just to, you know, kind of send send a message there early.
02:31But Scotty making birdie one. So you get that immediate two shot swing.
02:35But then this is like just kind of what I noticed from from from Bob pretty much the entire first 14 holes is Bob hits it in the right.
02:44Rough it to has a good lie. And there's a left hole location, which I think is one of the easiest ones on this green and hits it.
02:51The only place you can't hit it, which is left of that green, just like not controlling shots out of the rough.
02:57Well, he really struggled playing from the rough from, I thought, pretty decent wise throughout the entire front nine really misjudged shots.
03:05And I think by the by pretty much a couple of mud balls to the was it was in there.
03:11I don't I feel like I saw him say that somewhere.
03:13I don't think mud balls from my perspective.
03:17And I checked all the golf balls all day.
03:19There was nothing besides the first hole out of off of a chip that I could be that I consider to be an issue.
03:27And with the chip shot, you can't really say a whole lot.
03:32But that's that's what it was.
03:34You know, he really actually hit some really quality high middle middle to long irons on this front side.
03:40The third hole hit an incredible eight iron to about six to eight feet, had a birdie putt, misses that and, you know, just miss key fairways on the front side to where, you know, hit a great shot at six, which is a part three.
03:53And but like continue could not put the ball in the fairway on holes.
03:57He had to.
03:57And meanwhile, while this is going on, while he's not hitting fairways, guess who's hitting every single fairway?
04:03Scotty Scheffler.
04:04I'm telling you, through the first through the first nine holes, I think Scotty Scheffler legitimately could have been up three shots after being down for, you know, three putts the third hole.
04:16He misses a short putt at the eighth hole and then hits is probably one of his worst iron shots of the week on nine to where I thought he's going to make birdie there.
04:24And meanwhile, Bob is just luckily, you know, been lucky to make some pars in a couple of spots like he did on eight.
04:31And it just felt like, man, Bob was in the golf tournament heading to the back nine.
04:37But it really felt like Scotty should have already had like a two or three shot lead, which is hard to even fathom.
