00:00I'm not saying that he shouldn't pick himself, but I could see a world and I would probably lean right now that 75 percent chance he doesn't.
00:08I think that's kind of where I stand right now.
00:10Well, it's interesting because he's currently 11th on those on that that the points list and two of the guys who were kind of maybe on the bubble, maybe on the outside looking in Maverick McNeely and Sam Burns both had great weeks this last week.
00:24So if that form continues, depending on how they play this next week, the tour championship, I'm almost positive both are in that, you know, both those guys could have a look at, you know, being pushing further up that points list and pass the guys that have qualified who are Scotty, J.J. Zander, Russell Henley, Harris Singles from Bryson DeChambeau.
00:45You got J.T. at seven, Colin Morikawa at eight, Ben Griffin at nine, and then, you know, Mav at 10, Keegan at 11.
00:53And then you got a lot of guys that Brian Harmon at 12, who's just phenomenal match play.
00:59You got Cam Young, who's, you know, finally kind of getting it together, won his first event.
01:02He's 14th. You got Patrick Cantlay at 15, who's been a longtime partner of Xander Shoffley.
01:08You know, Sam Burns at 16. It's going to be tough.
01:10And I think they're, you know, after Keegan won the Travelers, we both said it on the show.
01:16There's just there's no way he can't be on the team.
01:18But as things change and evolve, it's it's going to be a really, really interesting decision and a tough one for him to make.
01:25You know, it's we're going to go full into depth on this next week.
01:28If you haven't, if you're just joining here, we're going to kind of really dive into this thing.
01:33But I'll quickly say that there's just too many players that you have question marks about what type of form they're in that have had success in team events.
01:43And not to say these players can't play well when the when the light's the brightest, because a lot of times that that's what happens.
01:50You know, the pressure of making the team almost makes guys try too hard and play worse.
01:54But when they finally get the the light switch turned off and that they know they can go play, then it changes things a little bit.
02:01They kind of get into a mode of, OK, let's just go beat the guy in front of me.
02:05And it's you find that a lot of times he's really, really solid players that are so experienced and have all the the accolades that they have and show up with that they're able to handle the moment.
02:16But but you just how many guys are you can you pick that aren't in form?
02:21That's the question that I have that are how many experienced guys that aren't in form can you take?
02:26And currently you got guys that aren't playing as well.
02:29You got Cantlay's not playing as well.
02:31More cow is not playing as well.
02:33JT's kind of not been playing his best golf at this current moment.
02:37And then Keegan the same way.
02:39It's like those are all really experienced guys and throws Andrew Shoffel in there for five.
02:43It's like how many of these guys can you throw on the team that you expect to be on the team that you can also plug in with rookie?
02:51So it's just really difficult to figure out the balance and the mix and experience.
02:55So that's kind of where I'm at now.
02:57Yeah, I think it's and again, we'll dig into this further later in the week.
03:00But that is the sort of defining question here is that if guys are in better form right now,
03:07how much of that form translates to big moments at Bethpage Black when the crowd's going nuts and it's an environment like you've never played in before,
03:16you know, does that form hold, you know, against does a veteran who's maybe not in the best form get there,
03:23feel those moments again and play better golf than he has been playing because he's feeding off that energy.
03:28And he's he's more accustomed to playing in that level of pressure.
03:32Well, you know, it's it's it's man.
03:34It's going to be so interesting.
03:35Well, I think Europe's a clear favorite right now.
03:37To me, they're they're a clear favorite because they have built in teams.
03:41They have, I think, guys, it's just it's just who's number 12.
03:45The depth, I think, is actually not.
03:47I would say the the United States team, one to 12 potentially could be stronger from a depth standpoint.
03:56But I'll argue that the top of the the European side is going to be better because they can they can shape their teams much,
04:04much easier and you kind of know what you're going to get.
04:07Now, I think you can look at all the data and say that, well, shoot,
04:10the United States guys have been playing much better than the European guys this summer.
04:14But I think just what you've seen over the last couple of years, how they perform at the last Ryder Cup.
04:20It's certainly understandable to have questions about which United States player is going to be the two, three, four guy that can step up outside of Scotty.
