06:12Hey, let's turn to Matthew chapter 25.
06:15Absolutely fascinating story here about ten virgins.
06:19And I wanted to give you kind of a different slant on it today.
06:22Now, my slant on it may not be God's slant.
06:27Okay, I didn't, the Lord didn't give me this information.
06:30I'm just sharing you what I think is going on.
06:34Okay, so it may not be accurate.
06:37It may not be correct.
06:39I think it is.
06:41But, you know, everybody has an opinion of stuff.
06:45And I'm no different.
06:46I just wanted to share my opinion with you.
06:48So, verse number one, chapter 25 of Matthew, the incredible story of the ten virgins.
06:57Then shall the kingdom of heaven, Jesus said, be like ten virgins, which took their lamps.
07:07They went forth to meet the bridegroom.
07:12You know, when you get born again and filled with the Holy Ghost, and you get your prayer language, your gift of tongues,
07:20and you get the born again experience, which is spiritual, and you start on your journey, you're heading toward Christ and heavenly glory.
07:31That's when your journey starts toward the Lord Jesus and toward the glory of heaven.
07:38Everybody does it.
07:39When you get saved, of course, you receive the Holy Spirit.
07:43100% of all Christians receive the Holy Spirit when they get saved.
07:49If they didn't, they're not saved.
07:51So, having the Holy Spirit is, by definition, means you're born again.
07:57But not everybody has the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
08:00That is the endowment of power event that occurs after you become a Christian.
08:06That's what happened to me.
08:07I became a Christian initially, and then after that, I had a spectacular experience when I got filled with the Holy Ghost.
08:15I mean, I was knocked down to the floor at the church, and, I mean, the Holy Ghost was, like, roaring out of me.
08:23Never experienced anything like it.
08:25So, here you've got ten virgins, and they're all saved.
08:29Ten saved people, right?
08:31They've all got the Holy Spirit.
08:33They've all got lamps.
08:37Correct?
08:38But, they were different types of Christians.
08:41You know, here, you see that?
08:43There were different types of virgins here.
08:46Five of them, it says, verse 2, were wise.
08:50And the Greek word there for wise is phronomous.
08:54And it means somebody who intellectually ponders, collates, and thinks about something.
09:03A phronomous person is a person with common sense, a person that thinks about stuff.
09:08They don't make rash decisions.
09:10They ponder it.
09:12You know, what's going on with that?
09:15Let me look at the pros and cons.
09:18Let me analyze this.
09:21Let me think about it.
09:23That's what it's saying.
09:25Five of them were that way.
09:26Only five now.
09:28That's interesting.
09:29Again, remember, they're all born-again Christians in this parable.
09:34A parabolae, as you know, is a parable, and it's a made-up story.
09:40It's not a real story.
09:42A parabolae is a fictitious event Jesus made up to illustrate very deep spiritual truths.
09:51The story is fake, but the truths that it illustrates are real.
09:56And the other five virgins were foolish, Greek word moros.
10:04Moros is where we get our English word moron.
10:10Verse 3, those that were foolish or moronic took their lamps, but took no oil with them.
10:18Okay, so five of the virgins brought their lamps.
10:24So did the other five.
10:27They were all the same.
10:29Virgins.
10:30That's very true in our lives.
10:33You got ten born-again Christians here.
10:35They have the oil.
10:37They all have the Holy Spirit.
10:39All ten of them.
10:41All of them do.
10:44The foolish ones have the Holy Spirit.
10:48And the common-sense thinkers, the wise ones, they have the Holy Spirit.
10:54But the wise ones took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
11:00Okay, so the thinkers said to themselves, well, when we get there waiting for the bridegroom, what if he's late?
11:12What if he's late?
11:14And what if the oil in my lamp burns out?
11:20What are we going to do then?
11:21Well, we better take some extra oil.
11:25We better prepare for a shortage.
11:32The other five assumed the bridegroom would be out in time and that their oil was going to last.
11:44They made a series of assumptions.
11:47And whenever you make an assumption, what's the secular phrase?
11:52You make an ass out of you and me.
11:55Assume.
11:56Ten Christians, ten people who have the Holy Spirit.
12:04The oil in the Bible is usually always representative of the Holy Ghost.
12:10And while the bridegroom tarried, verse 5, they all slumbered.
12:17Okay?
12:19Five foolish fell asleep.
12:23Five wise fell asleep.
12:26Okay?
12:26All of them are the same now.
12:29They're all the same.
12:33Verse 6.
12:34At midnight, there was a cry made.
12:39Now, this Greek word, kradzo, is the word for cry there.
12:47Excuse me, krogate.
12:49And it means to scream.
12:52Okay?
12:53Like making an announcement.
12:56You're screaming it out.
13:00Suddenly there was a cry, a scream.
13:02Behold, the bridegroom is coming.
13:05They're saying, hey, he's getting close.
13:07He's almost here.
13:09Wake up.
13:11Wake up.
13:12Get up and go out to meet him.
13:15Go out to meet him.
13:16Verse 7.
13:17Then, all the virgins got up.
13:20Okay, again, everybody's the same.
13:24Notice that?
13:25The moronic Christians are the same as the wise Christians.
13:31The morons have the Holy Spirit.
13:33They're born again.
13:34The wise ones have the Holy Spirit.
13:37They're born again.
13:39They all fell asleep, taking a little bit of a nippy nap.
13:47They're all the same.
13:48Everybody's the same.
13:52Except one thing.
13:55One thing.
13:55There's only one thing different between the two.
14:02Verse 8.
14:03The foolish said to the wise, hey, can we borrow some of your oil?
14:10The wise said, no, you've got to go downtown and you've got to buy it.
14:17Okay?
14:18Notice it said buy.
14:21It didn't say go to the synagogue or the church and get it for free.
14:25It didn't say go get it from your parents and get a freebie.
14:32Listen, here's the problem in Christianity.
14:37I see this all the time.
14:39I've seen it several thousand times over the years.
14:43People get born again.
14:45They get filled with the Holy Ghost.
14:49And then they don't see that event as simply the first step.
14:55They get this kind of concept in their mind like, wow, that's kind of the kind of an end.
15:02I've kind of arrived.
15:05When in fact, you know, in Ephesians it says, you must be filled with the spirit.
15:13The Greek word for filled in that verse in Ephesians is in the present continuous tense.
15:20And it means you must continuously be refilled with the spirit.
15:27And what I just gave you was the root of backsliders.
15:37I just explained it.
15:40Once you get born again and you receive the Holy Ghost, you have to, on a continuous basis, get refilling of the spirit.
15:49Refilling.
15:50Refilling.
15:51Refilling.
15:58And some Christians are lazy.
16:00Some Christians are moronic.
16:03Some Christians are foolish.
16:04And they let that oil dwindle down.
16:12Some Christians understand that you have to continuously need refillings, which is why they brought extra oil for refilling.
16:25Once you get to your initial anointing for your ministry, that's only your beginning, not the ending.
16:43You've got to continuously get refillings.
16:48And foolish virgins, Christians, they get lazy.
16:56They get kind of used to taking a nap.
16:58Everybody has to take a nap.
17:02But not everybody gets used to taking a nap.
17:07Not everybody's end goal is a nap.
17:09These five virgins thought that the initial filling of the Holy Ghost was good enough to take them through.
17:23It's not.
17:26It isn't.
17:30I told you the story many times.
17:31I saw Catherine Kuhlman when I was an ignorant 19-year-old in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
17:36Well, she was talking about some interesting things.
17:41She said that every time she had a service in her ministry, a giant crusade, the service I was in had 16,000 people.
17:51There were literally no seats left in the entire Mabee Center and on the floor where they put up the folding chairs.
17:59That's where I was sitting.
18:01I was down near the front in the middle.
18:03And these people, 16,000 people out there, she said she always stood behind the curtain and she died a thousand deaths before a crusade.
18:23I never understood what she meant by that until I got in the ministry myself.
18:31The anointing you had, you know, two months ago is not going to cut it here two months later.
18:41You're going to have continuous refillings, prayer, Bible study, worshiping in tongues, singing in tongues, spiritual maintenance, spiritual progress.
18:51Now you see the heart of backsliders.
18:56Backsliders are like five foolish virgins.
19:01They kind of let stuff slack.
19:05They're slackers.
19:10They don't put in the time.
19:11And so in the, in the, in the, in the story, you had to go buy moral, more oil.
19:20That's exactly what your anointing is and your giftings.
19:24You've got to pay a price.
19:27See the initial baptism of the Holy Ghost, the initial born again experience is free.
19:34It's free.
19:41After that, it's not free anymore.
19:45You've got to pay for it.
19:47You've got to buy it.
19:54Yeah.
19:55And the main point in the parable then, you know, they went, they went to go buy some, but they were too late.
20:04And the parable, here's the main point of the parable is definitely what God's talking about.
20:11Verse 12.
20:13Verily, I say to you, you do not know the day or the hour.
20:21The son of man is coming.
20:22We don't know when the rapture is going to happen, but we do know it's going to happen at midnight.
20:34That's not an actual time.
20:36That means it's midnight.
20:38It's symbolic of the end.
20:40When this thing's all over, boom, the end will come.
20:45But to make it down there, you've got to keep getting refillings back here.
20:52So no matter what ministry you're in, preaching, teaching, deliverance, healing, whatever you're doing,
21:02you can't just go buy what you had when you got filled with the Holy Ghost and when you got saved back then.
21:09That's not good enough.
21:10You need to go to the marketplace and buy more oil.
21:17You got to pay for it.
21:19You got to work to get the money to buy the oil.
21:24It's not free.
21:27And what you did yesterday is not good enough for today.
21:31And while you're continuously working on your refillings, Satan's ability to tempt you and destroy you and drag you down dissipates.
21:45He loses his power over you.
21:48But if you're coasting on what you did back then, you know, oh, I got this great anointing.
21:56I'm good.
21:56Well, if you got a, if you got a, now you're good attitude, see, you're going to fizzle out.
22:04And so many ministers have fizzled out.
22:07My radio program on 1010 AM Christian radio, I'm on every morning at 730 from Monday through Friday.
22:16I've been on there for 23 years.
22:18I have done numerous, I'm going to say dozens and dozens of exposés on TV preachers and megachurch pastors who have failed and collapsed.
22:30And this is what happened.
22:34The parable of the 10 virgins.
22:36These people collapsed into sin and failure.
22:40Because they didn't keep their lamps burning by getting refillings.
22:51Refillings.
22:51Friday night I had a teaching where I said to the people, look, all you got to do is start with five minutes.
23:03You get up in the morning before you even get out of bed, you just fall on the floor.
23:10Unless you got to go to the bathroom real bad.
23:12Then you go, you go to the bathroom, you come back and fall, fall on your knees and just take five minutes.
23:21That's it.
23:23Not an hour, not two hours, five minutes.
23:28Praying hard, seeking, speaking in tongues, singing in tongues, whatever you do, five simple minutes.
23:35That will do more to crush Satan's power over your day.
23:40You can't even believe it.
23:42You would be shocked to know how powerful a person you will become.
23:48But the point of that was you want to get these little refillings so you don't have to go to the marketplace and buy oil when it's time to minister.
24:00See?
24:01Paul wanted you to be instant, he told Timothy.
24:04Be instant in season and out.
24:07Well, you can't do that if your lamps run low and you got to run and buy oil.
24:13Oh, I can't pray for you.
24:14I didn't, I didn't pray this week.
24:16I got to go back and pray.
24:18Well, that person left and they weren't healed because you hadn't kept your lamp burning.
24:24You didn't keep your lamp burning.
24:29You weren't instant, in season and out.
24:33So, to maintain the wonderful ministry you have now, and many of you have beautiful ministries, I have had the privilege of helping to initiate a few dozen ministries out of the Arizona Deliverance Center.
24:51And that's one of my goals as a ministry, is to birth other ministries.
24:57I've had a couple dozen different ministries birthed out of the Arizona Deliverance Center.
25:03I've also had several of them fizzle out and fail.
25:11Why?
25:13They didn't keep their lamps burning.
25:16We need lamps burning.
25:21Got a little refilling, refilling, refilling, refilling.
25:25They asked the legendary British evangelist Smith Wigglesworth one time, how much time do you spend in prayer?
25:31He says, I don't spend long hours in prayer, but I never go more than half an hour without doing it.
25:40So, Wigglesworth was of the mindset, phronomus, his idea was, I'm going to keep getting these constant, continuous fillings, so I'm ready for anything I have to face.
26:01He was a very active, action-oriented person, which he frequently taught was the key to triggering the mighty power of the Holy Ghost.
26:13Jesus said, you're my friends, if you do what I tell you.
26:16Doing is more important to God than thinking and pondering on what he told you to do.
26:25You know, it's a Nike situation.
26:27Just do it.
26:31Just do it.
26:34Okay.
26:36And here's the beauty of it.
26:38If you have your prayer language, if you have your gift of tongues and you pray, you can literally pray all day long, off and on.
26:47You can even do it in your head.
26:49You can pray in tongues in your head.
26:51I'm doing it right now.
26:57You can do it in your head.
26:58You can whisper it.
27:04And you can do that off and on all day as a method of refilling your lamps.
27:09But if you're a moron or a foolish virgin, your lamps are going to run out because you assumed, you assumed that the bridegroom would be back at a certain time.
27:26That's why it's asinine to try to predict the rapture and the second coming.
27:32Oh, we've got a date.
27:33There have been so many ministers that predicted a date and they all look like ignorant fools.
27:38You're not supposed to predict the date.
27:42You're just supposed to be ready at any date because you do not know when it's going to happen.
27:48Okay.
27:48Now, when it comes to your prayer language, listen, it's easy to get people get bad teaching on it.
27:57And here's here's here's the nuts and bolts of it.
28:01There's two types of glosa is the Greek word speaking in tongues or two types.
28:07The way Paul explained it or whoever translated that thing in Corinthians, I will admit it seems confusing, but it clears up instantly and makes total sense.
28:25Once you've received your prayer language, it all makes sense.
28:30So, for example, one is the gift of tongues that allows you to give a message in church, a message in tongues.
28:40And Paul said you have you only do that when there's an interpreter.
28:45So the gift of tongues allows you to sense or know when there's an interpreter around and it allows you to give a message in tongues to the church for group edification.
28:58But only if there's an interpreter.
29:01And then he said only three messages per service.
29:05Three.
29:06He didn't want the messages in the church.
29:08He didn't want it going on for hours.
29:12For obvious reasons, the more information you're given, the more information you forget.
29:19The other method of tongues.
29:20Tongues, which was when Paul said, I speak in tongues more than all of you, is your other gift of glosa, which is your prayer language.
29:32I myself do not have the gift of tongues.
29:35I have my prayer language, but I don't have my gift of tongues.
29:40I don't have the gift of interpretation in tongues.
29:43I don't have that.
29:44So you can pray all day long and keep your lamp full if you can just quietly praying in tongues.
29:55It doesn't say there's any way to do it.
29:59You can be creative.
30:01Do it your own way.
30:02You know.
30:04Get it done the way you want it.
30:05And it all works.
30:08But you don't want to be a foolish version who rests on your laurels, so to speak.
30:14The old slang term.
30:15I'm resting on my laurels.
30:17You can't do that in Christianity.
30:19Spiritually, that won't work.
30:23You've got to get continuous refillings of the Spirit.
30:26You've got to get continuous anointing boosts, so to speak.
30:31So that your next healing service goes better than the last one.
30:40Your next deliverance service, better than the last one.
30:44Your next witnessing campaign, your next ministry of the homeless, the next whatever you're doing,
30:51preaching, teaching, is as good or better than the last one.
30:56It's maintenance work, is what he's saying.
30:58The Ten Virgins was kind of a story about maintenance work.
31:04And the wise virgins, they went in the raptures.
31:09The foolish virgins missed the rapture.
31:13But they were all Christians.
31:16They all had the Holy Ghost.
31:18They all had lamps.
31:20And they were all coming to see the bridegroom.
31:24They were all the same, except five of them, morons.
31:34They never got a refilling.
31:36They were resting on their laurels, their old anointing, their old teaching.
31:42I do that myself a lot.
31:47I try to come up with different things to teach on all the time.
31:53And not just do the same stuff over and over.
31:55Even though, you know, the other stuff may have been working okay.
32:01You know, you've got to always keep kind of refilling yourself.
32:04It helps you overcome temptation.
32:09It binds the power of the enemy.
32:10It makes you strong spiritually.
32:13So you can be instant, in season, and out of season.
32:19Yeah, absolutely.
32:24This is how you grow spiritually.
32:26And that's also how you backslide.
32:30Now, those five virgins, when they missed the bridegroom, we don't know what happened to them.
32:39The story doesn't say.
32:41They could have fallen into deep despair.
32:44They could have backslidden.
32:45They could have gone back to all kinds of wickedness and sin.
32:49We don't know what happened to those five virgins.
32:51But we do know they missed the rapture.
32:56So if the rapture is at the beginning of the tribulation,
33:00some people believe it's in the middle or the end.
33:02I kind of lead toward pre-trib.
33:05If it is in the beginning, those Christians are going to have to go through the tribulation.
33:12And that's where you're really going to need your faith.
33:15During the tribulation.
33:16Because everything will be much worse then than it is now.
33:19Now, you will face much stronger opposition then than you would now.
33:30Keep maintaining your anointing and your giftings is essential for your ministry.
33:37You've got to keep growing.
33:38You've got to keep getting better.
33:41Bigger and stronger.
33:43But you can't do that if you don't do your maintenance work.
33:46And you have to go buy the oil.
33:49See, initially it was free.
33:51So was your salvation.
33:53I got my salvation free.
33:57Free.
33:57I took my own righteousness.
33:59Found a dumpster.
34:00Threw it in.
34:02And I received the righteousness of God in Christ.
34:06I reached out for the blood.
34:08I threw mine out.
34:10I reached out for His holiness.
34:11I shoot canned my holiness.
34:19But I didn't stay there.
34:21And you can't stay there either.
34:22You've got to keep moving forward.
34:24And keeping your lamp full.
34:27You want it to go down because you're ministering and helping people.
34:33But you've got to keep refilling it.
34:35Yeah, see, all ten virgins, they all had lamps.
34:43They all had oil.
34:44And they all had their lamps go down to nothing.
34:51Their oil left all ten lamps.
34:56But five of them had their refilling.
35:02And that's what you need to do.
35:07Will you do that?
35:09Five minutes.
35:11I said it last Friday.
35:15Five minutes in a morning.
35:17Just five minutes.
35:18That's all.
35:19Get up five minutes earlier.
35:22I've got to go to work, Brother Mike.
35:23I get up at six o'clock.
35:25Okay, get up at 5.55.
35:26Fall out of your bed.
35:30Thunk.
35:32There you are.
35:34And do it for five.
35:35Look at the clock even.
35:36You can look at the clock.
35:38You've got a digital clock in your bedroom.
35:41Wall clock.
35:42Just stare at it if you want to.
35:45If you're going to go five minutes.
35:47Click, click, click, click, click.
35:49That's it.
35:50And then you're going to get up and start your day.
35:52And go for it.
35:54Will you do that?
35:56I wish I could see you right now in the video.
35:59So you could wave at me and tell me you're going to do it.
36:01That way I would stop today's broadcast.
36:04A very happy man.

36:14You're going to be.
36:16I'm prophesying to you now.
36:18You're going to be.
36:20The five that made it.
36:22Not one of the five.
36:24That didn't.
