00:31Like, they are starting you off with at least something you can put on your TV
00:34and sink your teeth into.
00:36So there's that.
00:36And the same with, like, Fox, the big game of Fox's big 12 o'clock game,

00:41I do like that.
00:42I don't like waiting around for big things to happen.
00:45I like them right off the bat.
00:46And at least the best game of week zero is going to be game number one.

01:22You've got now the quarterback at Kansas State who opened up a ton of eyeballs last year.
01:28This is going to be a legit game that isn't at a conference either.
01:33This is a conference game, and it's just one of a handful that we're going to get here

01:43Yeah, you look at that at Kansas State, you're right.
01:45And sometimes, like, I sort of, like, shade to one side.
01:47It's like, okay, coming back game number one, how does that figure out?

01:51It's quarterbacks coming back that at the moment is not too big from, oh, man, I didn't
01:55expect the game to be that fast in the first quarter.
01:57These guys have played a lot of football, but sometimes I look at the quarterback that's
02:01going to give me both options.
02:03Like, Rocco Beck's a good quarterback.
02:04Don't get me wrong for Iowa State.
02:05We look at Avery Johnson.
02:06It's like, hey, you know what?
02:07He can throw it a little bit, and he can run it a little bit.
02:09So anytime you see, and the one thing I can't say enough, whenever games are played overseas,
02:14the one thing you have to always bring into question is not the weather itself.
02:18It's the field.
02:20Is it a skating rink?
02:21Because if you have a quarterback that's built on, I can make quick moves and quick cuts,
02:24and the field is slippery, that's not going to work.
02:27But if there is a little bit of slickness out there that he can keep his feet, that means
02:31long runs could possibly be broken in this one.
02:33So I do like that from a perspective.
02:35If we're looking from the odds market show, opening numbers on this game, three and a half.

03:15And you mentioned not only Rocco Beck coming back, but four of the five starting offensive
03:20linemen from a year ago are returning for Iowa State, which in this day and age of transfer
03:27portal, NIL, to you to keep the four out of five of your offensive linemen to return is
03:35kind of crazy when you think about it here.
03:38But you mentioned it.
03:39Avery Johnson is all about the dual threat here.
03:43And if the field and the conditions call for it, then this is a guy that can beat you with
03:49his legs.
03:50No problem at all.
03:51Biggest question mark for Iowa State is going to be the defensive side.
03:56The biggest question mark for Kansas State is, all right, Avery Johnson, but what else you

04:02Jaden Higgins, Jalen Knoll from a year ago, they're now on the Houston Texans.
04:06So that's an entirely new wide receiving crew for Kansas State.
04:10I think that is going to be an interesting look here to see exactly how many points are

05:53school, like, you know, Hawaii was a pretty decent deal.
05:56And also throughout, I would say like the early 2000s, the Timmy Chang years and such,
06:00they've always had Cole Brennan, I think it was, always had really good quarterbacks
06:03where they would be that game at 1030 to watch at night.
06:05And teams like, you know what?
06:06That's a fun system to play in the June Jones, like air raid offense.
06:09But in order to go to Hawaii on a recruiting trip, you have to commit to the university
06:15as you're going there.
06:16Otherwise, kids are like, hey, my fifth trip is going to be out to Hawaii.
06:18I'll spend the weekend out there, just get shown the campus and I'll get to see Hawaii
06:21and come home.
